It was a delightfully ordinary, Wednesday evening at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The typical mist lay heavy on the stone foundations of the castle, seeping through the cracks of doors and rotten window frames, like a chilling, wet breeze. The Gryffindor common room was set south of the grand building, thick but lively layers of dust coating the picture frames, the books and embedded in the regal rugs. Despite the vast number of students that had passed to and from these walls, it, like its location, seemed to stay recognisably untouched. Wine red curtains draped over the clouded, antique windows, like they had always been, the decor-orientated fireplace roared invitingly, as it had always done. It was nearly a guarantee that every child of the lion house would look upon the common room just as every other had done, and would do so forth. So similar in fact that those who occupied the creaky beds in the dorms just a staircase above or below, could enthuse about it's appearance, it's welcome and it's sense of home, to any other Gryffindor, whether them be from two, or ten years ago.

It was this familiarity, and this warmth, that created the brave camaraderie of the Gryffindors.

Currently inhabiting this exact setting, there resided a certain batch of fascinating students, one draped across the velvet settee, one fidgeting, bouncing his leg, staring into the fireplace, one lay covering the musty, worn floorboards, and lastly, one rushing down the echoing staircase with a pitter patter.

"Guys, guys!", she bellowed into the homely room, scurrying as she descended, until finally reaching the middle of the gathered group.

The boy lounging on the soft furnishings reluctantly sat up with a groan, his hands propping himself up behind him, one leg stretched out, the other bent over the armrest. His dark blue eyes now on the girl, his face as beautifully pale and freckly as ever. This was Ron, commonly recognised due to his outstandingly red hair, his Weasley last name, and of course his vintage-looking robes.

"Hff, what you shouting for?", Ron retorted at the dramatic entrance.

The girl, y/n, ignored him, stretching her sight over to the others, whom one of which had only just broken his gaze from the dancing flames.

"Hmm?", the other boy questioned, only acknowledging her arrival thanks to Ron's lazy words. This was Harry, though who didn't know that? The one thing Harry Potter was not, was unestablished, everyone and anyone knew him. His leg had ceased to bounce now, sat civily next to the red head, hands clasped in his lap, not before chewing his nails in thought. A somewhat handsome boy he was, piercing, green eyes, thick, dark eyebrows outlining them, and most definitely his circular glasses that framed them both.

"Hermione!", y/n urged hurriedly to the girl still lay across the floor, scattered in leather-bound books, the last of the group to give her their attention. Her full, wavy hair flowing down her back characteristically, it's caramel colour melting into the rouge rug harmoniously. Casting her natural beauty over her shoulder, she begrudgingly removed her eyes from the tea stained pages and landed them on y/n, brows furrowed.

"Yes?", Hermione answered proceeding an irritated sigh.

Now that she'd successfully gained their observation, she continued, "You'll never guess what I just heard", elongating the latter in a bothersome, high pitched song.

"What is it now? More gossip I suppose", noted Harry, looking as uninterested as the other two. It wasn't typical that her friends were this well, unfriendly, but having been a long day, they were pleased to let it come to an end, gasping for sleep. Y/n however felt differently,

"Look, it's not my fault if I happen to... overhear a few things, is it!?", she asserted, rolling her eyes.

"It is highly inappropriate to be listening in on a private conversation, and especially so, if you're then going to go telling everyo-", Hermione's lecture was cut off.

"Ugh, it's not even a big deal, I just heard Lavender chatting to Romilda, about... you", she spun round and pointed straight at Ron, trying to conceal a grin. Failing this, she burst out laughing, much to Ron's panic, Harry's interest, and Hermione's displeasure.

"W-what? What was she saying...", he trailed off, his voice shaking with concern and a hint of annoyance.

"Oh what does it matter anyway? You broke up months ago!", Hermione announced, still sat on the floor, but now crosslegged facing the messenger.

Harry just watched, mildly entertained and somewhat distracted, turning his head left to right, to left again, like watching a game of tennis, but with words.

"Well... let's just say don't go accepting a box of chocolates off Lavender-"

There was a collective gasp, Ron looked done in and Hermione was struggling to camouflage her indignation.

"What the bloody hell is she doing that for?"

"She simply cannot!"

Ron and Hermione both stated.

"Yep... the old love potion, seems like she's still not over you.", affirmed Y/n, not fretting about this information in the slightest.

"Yeah... yeah I guess, I mean it's understandable though isn't it? No one else likes her do they", Ron sympathetically shrugged.

"What do you mean, 'No one else likes her'?", Y/n questioned, her carefree facade transforming into something more hostile.

"Oh come off it, you know what I meant, the girl's barmy!", he exclaimed.

"Didn't stop you from dating her though, did it", she scoffed.

"Will you two shut up! You've only been dating a month or two yourselves and you're already arguing like an old married couple!", Hermione argued, gathering her books and heading to her dorm with rapid speed.

There was a split second silence as they all watched her leave.

"I uh- ...Ron? You coming?", Harry whispered, following Hermione's lead.

"Er yeah, I'll be up in a minute, mate", he replied softly.

Harry tip toed up the stone staircase, to his dorm, leaving the couple to it.

The common room was empty besides them, everyone else in their dorms chatting quietly if not already asleep. Y/n and Ron sat together on the vermilion sofa, both staring at the floor, neither speaking.

"I'm sorry", she began, "I know you're not interested in her anymore"

"It's fine, I know how you feel, her not being able to leave us alone. But you know that I only want you", he uttered gently, now facing her, his big eyes on hers. He lifted his hand from the worn fabric of the seat, bringing it up to her face, swiping his thumb across her cheek dearly. She smiled warmly, as he leaned down to plant a loving kiss on the top of her head before he clambered up to his dorm.

"Goodnight love", he managed to say before leaving.

"Goodnight", she replied, now staring into the burning but dying flames.

like, we’re talking about a boy who was literally famous his whole life, and the second he set foot in the wizarding world, people were falling over themselves to get a glimpse of him. and for good reason.

harry wasn’t just some scrawny, quiet kid in the corner—he was a jock/popular boy (quidditch captain, hello?!), he had charmingly messy hair in that Potter way, and he had striking green eyes like Lily Evans (legit bombshell).

also, can we talk about how harry was canonically being asked out CONSTANTLY? like, in fourth year, girls were lining up to get his attention for the yule ball. in sixth year, romilda vane tried to slip him a love potion because she was so desperate to date him. even fleur delacour (literal veela and the epitome of beauty) kissed him on the cheek when he was literally 14?!!!!!!! man had rizz.

he's also the most himbo himbo, to ever himbo. and no i won't expand on that, you'll just have to take my word on it.

like, this man walked into a room, and you knew he was something special. the unintentional bedhead, the intense green eyes, the confidence he carried without even realizing it—harry james potter is absolutely hotter than people give him credit for, and i will die on this hill. 💀

💕 - james x bellatrix—but make it dark, obsessive, and utterly one-sided on bellatrix’s part.

it started with curiosity. she watched sirius brag at family gatherings about his brilliant best friend who apparently has more magic in his ring finger than the people in this room. james potter, the heir to a respected pureblood line who is supposedly good enough to rival even Sirius (the black heir????) in every way. bellatrix should hate him—he’s everything she despises: arrogant, self-assured, reckless, and worst of all a blood traitor. but the way sirius talks about him grates on her nerves, and she can’t help but wonder why sirius is so endeared by him.

the answer, she discovers, is everything.

james potter doesn’t just exist—he dominates, in a way she's only ever seen one person do (the dark lord). he’s effortlessly brilliant, the kind of wizard who could rival any of the greatest pureblood minds if he cared enough to try. straight O's, slacker at potions, but would have even slughorn beat out for obscure knowledge if he bothered, and his charms mastery .... unfathomable. bellatrix hates how easily sirius brags about James, as if he’s untouchable, as if his successes are sirius’s to claim by association.

and then there’s james himself. the way he carries himself—lazy confidence paired with relentless skill. he’s a born leader, commanding without trying, the kind of person who makes others want to follow him with barely a thought. his wandwork is flawless and his charms results elegant; so effortless it makes her blood boil.

this leads to her fixation on his hands. it sets something dark alight in her, and she wonders what else those skilled hands could do. she shouldn’t think about it, but the thought clings to her, festering and vulgar.

it doesn’t stop there. it never stops with bellatrix. her jealousy of sirius becomes a bitter obsession with james. she doesn’t just want him—she wants to steal him, to take whatever sirius has, because she always has to win, because he took the black heirship from her, even though she was the firstborn. she wants to see james look at her the way he looks at his precious mudblood, with that infuriating softness and devotion, and she wants to break him.

but james potter doesn’t see her. not really. she’s just another pureblood supremacist to him, another cog in the Black family’s toxic machine. another mad pureblood, a rabid dog needing to be put down. and that’s what makes her obsession all the more sickening—he doesn’t even know how much she craves him, how much she needs him.

for bellatrix, it’s not love. it’s hunger. it’s a twisted mix of envy, lust, and a need to conquer. james potter becomes her fixation not because of who he is, but because of what he represents: the one thing she can’t have, no matter how desperately she tries to take it.

🏳️‍🌈 - peter pettigrew.

i don’t headcanon him as queer, not because i don’t think he could be, but because i’ve always imagined him as this straight, white, working-class irish kid who already feels like an outsider for other reasons.

peter has this complex, subtle dynamic where he’s always "othered" within his friend group. he’s the one who doesn’t quite fit into the 'too cool for school' narrative of the marauders. i imagine his father as a blue-collar, rough-around-the-edges type, maybe with a streak of heavy-handedness after a few drinks, and definitely the kind of person who harbors strong opinions about "manliness" and "the right way" to be. he's definitely been laid off a few times and just really hates the middle and upper classes. peter grows up absorbing this—seeing a world that’s hard and unyielding, one that he can’t ever imagine rebelling against.

his upbringing leaves little room for difference. his father’s ingrained homophobia, coupled with the class divide between peter and his posh, confident, pureblood friends, would be something he’s painfully aware of. peter sees sirius and james thrive in their defiance—whether it’s sirius rejecting his family or james wearing his arrogance like armor—and resents them for the ease with which they dismiss societal expectations that peter feels crushed beneath. (peter is also definitely a northerner so there's that weird dynamic too)

even remus, who’s quieter and more reserved, still feels like he belongs in their world because he’s a better fit for their rebellious, larger-than-life personalities, feeding in with ideas and ways to evade getting caught. peter, meanwhile, has been taught to keep his head down, to conform, to survive. his queerness doesn’t come into play, not because he wouldn’t be accepted by his friends, but because he wouldn’t even let himself consider it, because of it being someone his father would hate and his mother would ostracize.

in some ways, peter becomes a product of this environment—he starts to resent his friends, their privilege, their charisma, their freedom. he grows up emulating his father, the very man he might despise deep down, because it’s the only template he has for power or survival. the idea of exploring queerness doesn’t fit into his rigid worldview. instead, peter internalizes his bitterness and lets it fester, further driving a wedge between himself and the people he once called friends.

it’s not that peter couldn’t be queer—it’s that his upbringing, insecurities, and resentment make him cling to the status quo as tightly as he can, even as it destroys him.

💀 - james potter ok, hear me out.

imagine how different the story would feel with lily living while james is the one who dies that night. he becomes this haunting, larger-than-life presence throughout the series—a man who was brave and brilliant, but who left behind an enormous void that no one can quite fill.

lily would carry his loss like a scar that never fully heals. she’d be resilient, of course—raising harry on her own with all the love and fierceness she has—but there would be moments where she looks at her son and sees james in his messy hair or the mischievous glint in his eye, and it’s almost too much to bear. she would tell harry stories of his father, painting him as a hero, but there’d always be a pang of sadness behind her words, a longing for the life they never got to have.

sirius, on the other hand, would be utterly broken. he’d put on a front of recklessness and bravado, but james was his anchor, his brother, his everything. without james, sirius would spiral even faster, his grief manifesting as anger and self-destruction. he’d be haunted by the what-ifs, by the knowledge that he should’ve been there to protect him.

remus would feel the marauders collapsing around him. he’d try to hold the pieces together, but james’s absence would leave a hole that nothing could fill. he’d be weighed down by survivor’s guilt, constantly wondering if there was something he could’ve done differently to save his friend.

I have made many fic rec lists, almost always at someone's request, although I don't often post them publicly. However, there are fic rec lists I compiled simply because I like a particular troupe. I often keep copies of these lists in the notes in my phone so that I can respond quickly to a request for fic recs. Long story short, the notes pile up and now I need to delete some before I can't find anything anymore. But I don't want to just let those rec lists disappear, so I decided to share them.

The list I want to share with you today is Drarry fics in which fandom plays an important role.

Draco Potter (nee Malfoy) was known for many things.

When the invitation to the International Magical Cooperation Gala arrived, Neville had been expecting it. Whenever the Ministry needed to show off in front of the other Wizarding communities, they always paraded out the war heroes. Neville was on the B team, back row to the Golden Trio of course, but invited all the same. But this event was going to be different than all of the ones before. Because Hermione would not be Ron’s date, Romilda would. He knew it would be a hard night for Hermione. He didn’t know how he could make it easier on her. She’d made it clear that babying her was not appreciated.

Neville sighed, tossing the glossy paper on to his counter. He walked across the small space to his living room. He lived in a tiny flat above his shop allowing him to always be nearby to take care of the plants. The downside was living in a place much too small for someone of his size. It also didn’t help that he’d filled much of the space with his personal plant collection. He had hanging pots with flutterby plants and squills as well as a potted fiddle leaf fig and monstera plants. He settled on the rug in front of his Floo, the leaves of the monstera pushing into his face, and called out Grimmauld place.

Harry’s boyish grin greeted him in the green glowing flames. “Hey Nev, what’s up?”

Neville pushed the monstera plant to the side, giving him room to sit. “Hey mate, have you looked through the post yet today?”

Harry shook his head. “Haven’t had the time. What came?”

“Gala invite,” he answered simply.

Harry nodded, understanding instantly. “How about you step on through? She wouldn't like us talking about this without her.”

Neville had already been down in the shop this morning, watering and pruning, so he was dressed in a deep red shirt and jeans, but he’d had no time to clean up before he’d Flooed. His nails had dirt under them and he knew he still smelled of vegetation. He supposed that was nothing new for him though, and walked through the open Floo.

Maybe she won’t go, he mused. Godric knew she deserved a reprieve. Hermione and Harry had been trotted out more than any of the rest of them. Avoiding more of that and Ron as well would be for the best.

As he stepped out he found the room empty. He assumed Harry had gone to grab the woman on both of their minds.

She walked down the stairs her tan, ankle length skirt swooshed with each step. She looked happy, calm. Possibly even glad to see him. He hated that he wasn’t here with better news.

“Hey Nev, what a nice surprise.”

He smiled back, but it must not have been very convincing. She narrowed her eyes. “What’s going on?”

Neither man responded.

you and Ron have been dating happily for the past 6 months. it was easy for anyone around you to see that you were in love, Ron had no problem showing off the fact that you are his girlfriend.

"hey Mione I'm going to head to breakfast meet you down there okay?" you said as you walk to the door of your dorm room.

"yeah I'll see you there," she said waving you off. chuckling you leave.when you get down there you see Ron and Harry already eating so you sit beside Ron and start filling up your plate.

"good morning my love," Ron said while kissing your cheek and then your neck which you try to hide your neck with your shoulder while chuckling.

"good morning Ronald" you peck his lips.

"lord my eyes save me," harry says dramatically covering his eyes and gagging you can hear Ron kick him under the table.

"it's okay to be jealous harry just don't take it out on us," you say chuckling and Ron join in while harry just smiles at you sarcastically.

"hey guys we should head to class," Mione said while grabbing toast and putting butter on it to eat on the way to class.

"yeah okay let's go" you get up with the rest of them and Ron grabs your hand, Ron walks you three to class while he has a free period he kisses you goodbye then goes back to the dorms to catch up on work. you sit down in the middle of harry and Hermione in class, you spot a girl across the room making heart eyes at harry and chuckling.

"harry I think you've got an admirer," you say laughing quietly. harry looks up sees her then looks down again blushing "ohhhhh harry potter is blushinggggg" then snape walks in and you all go quiet starting to do your work.

time skip to after class

"you guys go to class im going to find Ron and walk with him," you say running towards the Gryffindor common room.

"see you lovebirds" Hermione yells down the hall laughing with harry. when you walk into the common room you don't see Ron anywhere so you figured he fell asleep in the dorms, you walk up there and see him hugging a heart-shaped chocolate box.

"Ronny baby we've got class," you say walking closer to him and seeing his eyes look foggy, he had this weird smile that twisted to a frown when you talked.

"Who are you calling baby I belong to Romilda vane and Romilda vane only," he says looking at you with hatred, and you're so confused.

"Ron, we've been dating for 6 months are you joking? it's not funny" you said getting angry and looking at him.

"Well, in that case, I want to break up my heart only belongs to Romilda vane and I don't love or care about who you are," he says harshly. you look at him for a second trying to see if he's joking but you can tell he's not so you just nod the tears forming and walk out. you walk to class not wanting to miss it over a stupid break up but as soon as you make it in your friends start questioning you.

"Y/N what's wrong where is Ron?" Hermione asked seeing your sad face but at the mention of his name tears started forming again and you ran out of the classroom into the bathroom. a few minutes later you hear someone walk in.

"Y/N are you in here are you okay?" Hermione asked in a worried tone. you sniffed a bit.

"in h-here" you stutter and hiccup and she comes into the stall you are in and sits on the floor with you.

"what's wrong Y/N you were fine like 10 minutes ago," she said worried and pulling you into a hug.

"somethings has gotten into Ron he broke up w-with me and said he's in l-love with some girl Romilda vane I think," you say crying even harder and it hits hemione.

"Y/N, Romilda sent chocolates to harry with a love potion in them," she says pulling away from you a little bit. "we need to get him to the hospital wing," she says and you both get up and running to get Ron when you get there and try to take him he refuses.

"Ron was taking you to see Romilda," you say trying to convince him and he lights up which hurts but you know you're going to help him and you both drag him to the hospital wing.

time skip to the hospital wing

"madam he has been put under a love potion," you say once you get inside and put him on a bed. she nods and grabs a potion and gets him to drink it.

"after he takes a rest he should be back to normal don't worry," she says giving you a warm smile you nod as she pushes you out to go to classes.

time skip to after classes

after classes, you all go to see Ron in the hospital wing he's still sleeping when you get there so Hermione and harry go to get dinner while you stay with Ron. after about 30 minutes he starts to wake up and he sees you.

"Y/N what happened why am I in the hospital wing?" he says looking around and sitting up.

"you were put under an uh love potion," you say looking down at your hands in your lap.

"Okay..." he says slowly processing "wait why won't you look at me love?" he said concerned.

"you said some hurtful things while under the potion and I know it's not your fault but im still trying to convince myself you didn't mean it," you say while trying to hold back tears.

"oh my love come here please, of course, I didn't mean anything I said I love you so much you are my life please believe me," he said taking your face in his hands and kissing you everywhere trying to get his point across you to start giggling and he sighs "oh the beautiful laugh I love so much" he pulls you into a hug "you believe I didn't mean it right?" he asks while laying in the hospital bed with you. you look up at him and smile.

"yes I believe you I love you, Ronald," you say kissing his neck gently.

"I love you too" he kisses the top of your head and you both slowly drift to sleep.

I have cooked up another two new plots for the next story (and one requested re-feature). Which do you prefer I write next?

1) Harry spends the summer with Hermione and the Weasleys at The Burrow. When Ginny suddenly starts teasing Harry by the lake, Hermione realises that she has to get a move on if she doesn't want to lose her crush to the other witch.

2) To inspire his students in Dumbledore's Army to work harder and improve faster, Harry decides to host a tournament and announces that he will grant a wish (within his capacity) to the winner. And the eventual winner is none other than Romilda Vane, who has a very special request for Harry.

3) Harry's daughter, Lily, has just graduated from Hogwarts. When Harry asks what job she's looking for, she blushes and is unable to look daddy in the eye. What Harry doesn't know is that his daughter has secretly started her career as a "cam witch." What will Harry do when he learns of this?
