Question for all the Potter peeps out there: In book one of Harry Potter, before Quirrell and Harry have their little face off, did Quirrell finish grading all of the exams?
If so, did Voldemort help him grade them? Before you answer, keep in mind that Voldemort/Tom Riddle did at one point apply for the position of DADA teacher. My sister has even gone so far as to suggest that he may have secretly enjoyed himself while he was sitting in on Quirrell's class.
Thoughts?

So, a couple of months ago, I decided to try my hand at an abridged series for a beloved set of novels that many of my friends are fans of. Those being #HarryPotter.
Why haven't I shared this before, you might ask? Well, this whole thing sprung up from the fandom of another abridged series of A Song of Ice and Fire, by the name of Alt Schwift X (search on YouTube if you're interested in some hilarious abridgments of this beloved series).
Anyway, I started #HarryPotterAbridged specifically for the fans of Schwift, but now - 17 episodes later - that I have finished The Philosopher's Stone, I decided that it was time to share with the rest of my friends.
So, if you suspect this might be your cup of tea, well, by all means check it out!

Friendly reminder that this is what Snape would have looked like in The Philosophers Stone minus the dorky haircut.  Snape was only 31 while Alan Rickman was 54 when he began portraying him.

Alchemy Works?
Tumblr media
September 10, 2020
Alchemy is the process of transmutation by which to fuse or reunite with the divine.
I’ve been wondering if Alchemy is real; that is, whether or not the right combination of the earths elements in accordance with the alignment of the planets and the stars can result in magical power. With zero intention of trite provocation, to me the ineffectiveness of Alchemical Arts to impart knowledge or power over anyone except the practitioner is self evident. That those whose practice it are more likely to fall under its dark spell than any person or element they intend to control.
An anecdote - by way Zhenguan period (627 - 649) of the Tang Dynasty - tells of a monk who came to court and claimed to be able to kill people and bring them back to life with a magic spell. The courtier Fu Yi rejected the claim and allowed the spell to be tried on him. Not only did it not work, soon afterward the monk kneeled over and died. So let’s think about this anecdote; what does it means today?
There are people in the world that try to throw negativity (dark magic or energy) at you for any number of reasons. These people may even try to plant the seed of self-doubt so that you believe that they have an influence or power superior to your own. That way when they try to cut you down you make for an easier target because in some way you’ve already been convinced of your own inadequacy.
I say, keep your mind upright, and even if the negativity of others surround you they will not be able to harm you and the negativity will be turned back against the perpetrators. That is why, when Fu Yi didn’t believe in the monks ability to take his life with a spell, it was the monk who cast it that died.
For those of you who are Harry Potter fans think of it this way, Dumbledore who was the creator of the Philosophers Stone (the greatest of the alchemical mysteries) was unfit to wield the Deathly Hollows (another fictional play on alchemical immortality lore) because he wanted to possess them for his own gain. His quest for the Hollows led to every great sorrow in his life: his sisters death, a cursed hand from the resurrection stone, and ultimately his death when he lost the protection of the Elder Wand. Harry Potter was able to possess the Hollows, and the alchemical marriage of these items hid him from death until he was ready to meet it like an old friend. It was then in accordance with magical lore that death was conquered. Why? Because the divine or magical power of the universe already existed within Harry as it exists within all of us. The desire to exploit it leads to folly and death, yet with a pure heart and open mind the transformative nature of the universe will embrace you at the oddest and most unexpected times.
Indeed, all I am saying is that even the most ingenious magic can’t overcome genuine rectitude. Should you ever encounter dark magic, fortify your mind and pay no heed; then the evil will have no way in. Embrace the light and joy of the universe within yourself and watch as those who project negativity fall by the wayside into a darkness of their own making.
Simply put, and I know this to be true, what goes around comes around twofold.

To those who say Harry Potter grew up and his fans should grow up too, remember that Harry will still be 11 years old if I open the Philosophers Stone twenty years from now. Some stories never get old.

Can we talk about why the movie The Philosopher's Stone doesn't feature the scene where Flint almost knocks Harry off his broom and Dean Thomas yells "Throw him out, referee. Red card" ?
They were afraid of success.

I just have two questions:
How did a turban hide that alien thing of a head?
And, how the heck did Voldemort breath in that thing!?
