Maybe I'm going into conspiracy territory but fuck it what have i got to lose now?

My real question is. What the hell happened? In 2020 Biden had 81 million votes to Trump's 74 million. This year Kamala's sitting at 66 million to Trump's 71 million.

So what the hell happened to the record number of single day voter registrations a while back? What happened to Kamala's record number of small donations? Why are strongly historically blue counties swinging so far the other way? (Starr County in Texas was blue every election since fucking 1896 but is red this year). I know the internet doesn't reflect real life but it really felt like the energy for Harris was way higher than for Hillary or Biden. So where did that go?

Were there really 15 million people who voted for Biden that decided they're single-issue-Palestine voters? That seems rather high.

I can't help but feel like something is fishy here. Trump established that its totally normal to launch investigations and sue a bunch of places when losing maybe Harris should try some of that idk

Hmm, the general reaction I've picked up on is: they think it's funny that he got elected. There's a very 吃瓜/watching with popcorn vibe to viewing U.S politics, but I don't think that there's a particular happy or sad feeling about it the way maybe other Western countries' people have reacted? Generally speaking, whether it's Trump or Harris, Republicans or Democrats, they both hate China and don't give a shit about Chinese people, which is the main concern of people in China.

I don't think they give a shit about the platform minutiae of it all; democrat or republican is largely the same to Zhang San and Li Si making 3000 yuan a month. Trump being president is in that sense inconsequential. In the meantime, I sense cnets find Trump very entertaining, so they tend to "like" him. I mean, he's funny to watch from afar, and because the China has developed largely self-sufficient industries, even with Trump's rhetoric on China, there is not a really an economic concern over on that side. Moreover, Trump in his first term, through his brashness, gave China a lot of opportunities to develop international relations with those countries that Trump alienated. He weakened the U.S grip on other nations, especially those developing ones, which found a friend in China instead. He was/is enormously racist and xenophobic toward China but his first presidency was actually considered good for China. For his aggressive talk, he is viewed as an an idiot that is easily influenced, and while yes, he can be unpredictable, at the end of the day, he's a "business president" and you can trust that money will always speak to him the loudest. As long as he's president, he will also embroil the U.S in domestic chaos, preoccupying the country and perhaps preventing us from starting new wars and stuff. (Biden is viewed as a war hawk; Harris would've continued his foreign policies)

Meanwhile, China will keeps doing China and the cnets, I guess I will say, largely have faith that the government will do what's best for China, and therefore best for them.

That's my read.

I will say, the main Chinese social media I use (where I actually get news, anyway) is douyin, which attracts a different user base than Weibo, I think. It's largely a video sharing site, where Weibo is more for posting text (deeper reflections, maybe?). I'd be interested to know what the Weibo reaction is, or at least, the reaction in the circles you or anyone else frequents!

Aujourd’hui, c’est le jour le plus important pour les personnes américaines. C’est le jour des élections. Mais, en réalité, les élections passent plusieurs jours.

Pour voter, on a besoin d’avoir 18 ans et aussi être un citoyen américain. On a trois options pour voter : en personne le jour des élections, vote anticipé en personne, ou vote par procuration. Pour voter par procuration, on a besoin d’une raison comme le travail ou les vieux jours. Moi, j’ai voté anticipé en personne.

Sur le scrutin, on votera pour multiples candidats comme le président (ou la présidente), des membres du Congrès, et des autres positions pour sa ville.

Les résultats présidentiels ne sera pas disponible avant quelques jours après le jour des élections. Les états différents ont les procédures différentes, donc les résultats devinent disponible quand l’état est fini avec le comptage des votes.

Nos candidats présidentiels sont Kamala Harris et Donald Trump. C’est probable que vous les connaissiez. Donald Trump est conservateur et de droite. Kamala Harris est libéral et de gauche. La concurrence est féroce.

*Il y a plus de candidats, mais c’est impossible pour eux de gagner, donc ils ne sont pas importants.

La campagne de Trump est concentré sur l’économie et l’immigration. La campagne d’Harris est concentré sur l’économie aussi et les droits et les libertés.

Si vedrà, ma quel che è evidente è che l’entusiasmo democratico delle prime settimane sembra ora svanito trasformandosi in una reale e percepibile difficoltà.

La stessa difficoltà che è apparsa ben evidente in Kamala Harris l’altro giorno, quando è stata intervistata da Bret Baier a Special Report su Fox News.

La vicepresidente è apparsa nervosa e ovviamente poco a suo agio essendo nella tana del lupo, ma soprattutto scontrosa nei confronti del conduttore. A domande precise, come quella se sapesse dare un numero esatto o quanto meno approssimativo sul numero di immigrati clandestini entrati in America sotto la presidenza Biden, Harris ha iniziato come al solito a divagare e, incalzata da Baier sui numeri, ha dato in escandescenza. Ma anche quando il giornalista ha chiesto alla vicepresidente come mai l’attuale amministrazione non ha fatto nulla in tre anni e mezzo per arginare l’inflazione e lei oggi si ripromette invece di sovvertire i dati, Kamala, con la tipica smorfia di quando non le piace la domanda, ha risposto con un imbarazzante: “anche Donald Trump è in campagna elettorale da tre anni e mezzo”. Come se un candidato alla presidenza avesse gli stessi poteri esecutivi di un’amministrazione in carica; esilarante.

L’intervista si è conclusa con otto minuti di anticipo rispetto alle tempistiche concordate, con i quattro componenti senior dello staff di Harris che da dietro le telecamere si sbracciavano affinché la vicepresidente ponesse fine al disastro in diretta televisiva. Una scena pietosa.

I sondaggi servono, soprattutto ai giornalisti per riempire paginate o intrattenere il pubblico, ma la realtà è ben diversa da quel che apparentemente viene descritta: la luna di miele di Kamala Harris con l’elettorato è finita, e già da un pezzo; la corsa per lei è ormai tutta in salita.

Nel frattempo, pare che lo staff di Donald Trump stia già stilando una lista di possibili personalità da inserire nella prossima  amministrazione, al contempo mettendo il veto su alcuni nomi di traditori che l’ex presidente non vuole più nemmeno sentire nominare. L’aria che tira sembra essere quella che noi auspichiamo. Siamo agli ultimi, decisivi, cento metri.

Capite perché gli ultimi giapponesi sull'isola, tipo quelli de Il Manifesto, devono sostenere che Trump stia dando evidenti segni di demenza?
