why is it that Jervis Tetch in Harley Quinn: The Animated Series has a hat that reads 10 ½, instead of the typical 10/6 associated with the Mad Hatter? we all know the classic 10/6 is on a price tag for the hat, and means 10 shillings and a sixpence...but 10 ½ seems to be more like a measurement... 10 ½ what??? inches??? 😳

Harley Quinn & the Legion of Bats! Thoughts

Harley Quinn & the Legion of Bats! #4 introduced a certain someone into this universe. So you betcha I'm gonna talk about it!

Now the question dogging me is will this be canon to the show? I mean to a degree, Harley Quinn: The Animated Series - The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour #1-6 was glanced over in the Season 3 season premiere but this does feel kind of different.

I mean you don't just introduce a member of the Bat Family and not possibly have them MAYbe show up in the next season (or Valentine's Day special out next month by the way).

Course this is me anytime Cass is introduced in a series midway (somehow this was done TWICE this week?!). Making me have to read the other issues prior to if there were hints to this (there were not).

But given that the character introduced is Cass, who knows if the show will continue this or not. My fingers are 🤞

However, why should I be this anxious when well... who knows what will become of Cass in this universe as there are two more issues left. Who knows what will become of Cass in this tale?? Will she stay? Will she be hidden away? Taken out? Who knows. We got two issues left.

But here's what we can tell of some differences to the main canon so far (just by one-page reveal sort of because I'm cheating with what has been said prior).

On this page alone? Already this differs from A LOT of Cass media as this is the first time she's YOUNGER than Damian here . (WRITER’S NOTE: The writer for this comic actually tweeted me back and said that Cass is the same age of Damian in this universe). She's usually introduced way after most of the Bat Family (Jason, Tim, and Steph) are shown.

Literally, the only exception is a certain live-action movie where she skipped ahead beating Jason, Tim, Steph and Barbara in debuting.

The other really is that Lady Shiva and her sister Carolyn Wu-San were introduced Harley Quinn: TAS The Real Sidekicks of New Gotham Special #1 (released last year). So there's a link right there to both Vixen and last year's special.

Which is ironic as the main plot (besides Harley hiding her dual life from her supervillain friends) is that Black Mask is the main antagonist of the series kidnapping kids while using a Legion of Doom member unbeknownst to Ivy.

Outside of this page, we know Batgirl and Vixen are working on a similar mission together and like this issue, there are a few mentions of Vixen mentioning a package she wants to deliver to Babs.

Well, this issue she delivers that package, and it's Cass. Now the questions are? It seems like Black Mask wants Cass to use as muscle to rule Gotham (and maybe more) with an iron fist.

Though I do find it ironic that earlier Mask has Lady Marabunta go after Tiffany Fox (who was a Batgirl in another universe).  So we technically have TWO other Batgirls in this series (I wonder if Steph showing up makes it four).

Back to Cass, this has been an ongoing plot (along with Black Mask making waves after he took over the departed Penguin's criminal empire) of the series and as we reach closer I'm curious where this will all go.

I'm just gonna take every issue of the series and be cautious. As well, Harley Quinn: TAS has been a roller coaster of highs and lows for me.

There's nothing really for me to go, fully critique yet. Just hopefully when the trade comes out this gets fixed.

That's it. My attention is piqued and okay this series has got me interested in #5. I'm really curious to see the new origin laid out and where this goes. How this series tackles Cass compared to Young Justice and BoP in being new adaptations of the character.

I'm a bit curious, but I noticed that the show's popularity here on Tumblr has been staggering lately, largely with season four. For example, I noticed a couple of posts criticizing the show for portraying Nightwing's sexual abuse as a joke. I haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm feeling a bit hesitant over that. And I don't want to go into detail about [spoilers] Damien Wayne's future self. I understand that it's a adult animated parody show, but still. I mean, I still watch the show, but right now, I'm stuck on whether or not to finish season four.
