you guys, in pakistan Ramadan is like the equivalent of christmas in the US when it comes to marketing and ads. Every food brand, everything has a Ramadan sale attached to it it’s wild. Some chain stores sell a whole Ramadan package with dates, milk, flour, oil/ghee, probably dahi, frozen samosas, rooh-afza, everything we usually eat. yknow like those big christmas packages with 60 different kinds of Godiva chocolates but it’s actual food.
Ramadan is more commercialized in Pakistan than Eid, and Eid is the actual holiday. Ramadan is a religious month that we fast in, not really a celebration. Insane.
Anyway for my non-Muslim friends, make a Muslim in your community happy by taking them out to a halal restaurant for Iftar. Ask them about how they practice Ramadan. Buy them Krispy Kreme for dessert. Be like that one guy on TikTok who woke up at 4 to prepare suhoor for his roommate. Learn more about Islam. Look out for the Muslims in your community. And for Allah’s sake, don’t stop talking about Palestine.
to the Muslims, Ramadan Mubarak, may your days be filled with peace and prosperity from Allah, may He answer all your prayers for this year.
Don’t forget to check your dates so you’re not accidentally beginning or breaking your fast with Israeli-grown ones. Pray Taraweeh if you can go to the masjid. Help your parents make iftar if you live with your parents idk. Have a blessed Ramadan everyone 🫶🇵🇰📿
#btw the political situation here is looking really bad so please pray for us 🙏#the guy chosen to be president is historically one of the most corrupt men in pakistan#we’re trying to fight it but we’ll see inshallah#lightgriffinsect express#ramadan#ramadan 2024#ramadan mubarak#ramadan kareem#ramadan countdown#muslims#palestine#free palestine#free gaza#gaza#gaza strip#ramadan 1445#islam#muslim#rafah

[ID: A greyish brown stew presented alongside flatbread, red pepper paste, green peppers, and carrot sticks. End ID]
سماقية / Summagiyya (Gazan stew with chard, chickpea, sumac, and 'lamb')
Summagiyya (سُمَّاقِيَّة; also translitered "sumagiyya", "sumaghiyyeh" or "sumaqiyya") is one of the signature dishes of the Gaza strip, in particular Gaza City. It consists of lamb, chard, and chickpeas in a sumac-infused broth; savor and zest is added by a dagga of dill seeds, garlic, and peppers, and nutty depth by a generous drizzle of red tahina. The resulting stew is thick, earthy, and slodgily grey (due to the green chard and red sumac)—it also has the characteristic sourness of much Gazan cuisine.
Summagiyya is most often prepared during holidays, especially Eid al-Fitr; it's an excellent make-ahead dish for these occasions, since it's even better once its flavors have had time to meld and mellow overnight. It is served cold alongside fresh vegetables, and eaten by using flatbread to scoop up each bite. This recipe provides a spiced seitan recipe to replace the lamb, but you may also use any lamb or beef substitute of your choice.
Today, summagiyya is often prepared with Israeli white tahina, as decades of punitive import laws, taxes, and restrictions have enforced Palestine's status as a consumer, rather than an producer, of food products. Israeli tariffs on, and confiscations of, Palestinian goods have forced those tahina factories that survived to import sesame seeds rather than using locally grown crops, even as they export the best of their product to Israel. The dubbing of foods such as tahina and hummus as culturally "Israeli" cuisine works to hide this exploitative relationship, and cement an Israeli national identity through the subsuming and erasure of Palestinian existence. It is for this reason that Emad Moussa writes that Palestinian cuisine has a role in "protecting against a people's very extinction."
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has put out an urgent call for donations to provide medical supplies to Palestinian hospitals when supply lines reopen. Also contact your representatives in the USA, UK, and Canada.
Ingredients:
For the soup:
500g (2 large bunches) chard (شلق), diced
80g Levantine sumac berries (Rhus coriaria)
1/2 cup soaked and boiled chickpeas, mostly cooked (40g dry / scant 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup red tahina
1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
1 large yellow onion
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
2 cardamom pods (optional)
2 allspice berries (optional)
More olive oil, to fry
Sumac berries can be found in the spice section of a halal grocery store. If you're unable to locate whole berries, pre-ground will do.
For the dagga:
1 1/2 Tbsp dill seeds
5 cloves garlic
1/2 green cubanelle pepper
2-3 dried red chilis (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cumin
Dill seeds may be found at a halal, south Asian, or speciality European grocery store. They are commonly used in Indian food and as a pickling spice. At a south Asian grocery store they may be labelled soyo, suva, shepu, or savaa.
For the lamb:
1 cup (120g) vital wheat gluten, aka gluten flour
1/2 Tbsp ground sumac
1/2 tsp ground caraway
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Palestinian 7-spice
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground aniseed
1/2 tsp turnermic
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp miso paste
2 cloves garlic, grated
2 tsp pomegranate molasses
1 Tbsp white or red tahina
About 1/2 cup vegetarian 'beef' stock from concentrate, or vegetable stock
Pomegranate molasses is simply pomegranate juice that has been reduced to a thick consistency. It may be found in the sauces section of a halal grocery store.
Instructions:
For the soup:
1. Soak dried chickpeas in cool water overnight, or in just-boiled water for an hour. Drain and re-cover with water, and boil for 30-45 minutes, until almost fully cooked. Drain and set aside.
2. Simmer sumac seeds in enough water to cover by a couple inches for about an hour, until the water is dark red. Blend the seeds and water together, then strain the mixture through a cheesecloth.
If you're using ground sumac, skip the blending step. Use a cheesecloth or very fine metal sieve (such as one intended for brewing tea) to remove the ground spice from the water.
3. Whisk the flour into the sumac-infused water.
For the lamb:
1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add wet ingredients other than stock and stir briefly. Add enough stock to produce a soft, smooth dough.
2. Knead by hand on a clean surface, or put in a stand mixer with paddle attachment on medium-low, for about 5 minutes. You should see stringy strands begin to form in the dough.
3. Allow to rest, covered, for 5-10 minutes to encourage gluten formation. Knead for another 3 minutes. Do not over-knead.
4. Tear the dough into bite-sized pieces.
Stringy seitan being pulled apart into pieces.
You may also shape the dough into a slab and cube it with a sharp knife—the lamb or beef used in summagiyya is usually cubed—but I prefer the texture of torn seitan to sliced.
5. Steam the seitan pieces for 10 minutes in a bamboo steamer or using a metal steamer basket. Place the bamboo steamer in the bottom of a wok and cover its base by about 1/2" (1 cm), then raise the heat to boil the water; lower the heat to keep the water at a simmer. If using a steamer basket, place it over the opening of a pot containing a couple inches of water and bring it to a simmer. Start the timer when the water begins simmering.
6. Heat olive oil on medium-high and sear the steamed seitan pieces, turning as necessary, until deeply browned on all sides. Set aside.
Fried seitan pieces.
You can save a step here by searing the raw seitan, then returning it to the pot after you've fried the onions to simmer it rather than steaming. I found that this produced a mushier texture.
For the dagga (دقة):
1. Grind cumin and black pepper thoroughly in a mortar and pestle, then add dried red pepper and dill seed and crush coarsely. Add green sweet pepper and garlic and pound until a coarse mixture forms.
Dill seeds, green sweet pepper, garlic, and dried red chili on a cutting board, alongside dagga in a large granite mortar.
You may also use a spice mill or food processor.
To assemble:
1. Chop the onion. Wash the chard and slice it thinly in one direction; turn it ninety degrees and slice thinly again.
Diced chard, fried seitan, dagga, and sumac-infused water with flour.
2. In a large pot, heat a couple tablespoons of olive oil on medium. Fry chopped onion, cardamom pods, and allspice berries for a minute until fragrant. Add half of the dagga and fry until fragrant.
3. Add chard and fry, mixing often, until wilted.
Wilted chard in a wok.
4. Add sumac mixture, chickpeas, and water to cover. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer. If you didn't steam your seitan earlier, add it now.
5. Continue to stir and simmer until the stew is thick, homogenous, and greyish-brown, about 15 minutes.
Simmered stew.
6. Add the remainder of the garlic mixture, the red tahina, a pinch of ground cumin, the 1/4 cup olive oil, and salt to taste. Return the steamed and seared seitan to the pot and mix.
Serve cool with flatbread, sweet green peppers, bitter green and black olives, carrots, leafy greens, and/or pickles.

Thinking about Damian Wayne-Al Ghul fasting during Ramadan in full for the first time the year he moves in with Bruce. He did intermittent fasting throughout the rest of his life but he was still a kid and Talia thought fasting would impede his training.
Little 12-year-old Damian studying the Quran between classes at Gotham Academy. Alfred preparing an Iftar buffet for him before his patrol and suhoor for once he gets back. Bruce keeping multiple water bottles in his utility belt so that Damian stays hydrated through the night. Dick participating in the fast with him despite not being Muslim because he knows it’s Damian’s first time fasting and that takes a lot of discipline. Barbara taking him to an all halal grocery store before Ramadan starts to stock up on food so he doesn’t have to waste energy shopping during the fast. Damian praying 5 times a day just like he always did with his mother and grandfather. Jon asking Damian TONS of questions about fasting and Damian acting annoyed but also being kind of happy that his best friend is interested in his religion.

With villas situated near the beach, Siargao Island Villas is a haven for paradise seekers and beach bums. They have extensive rooms and bungalows with a sun terrace, a private bathroom, and Wi-Fi making it perfect for families and couples. The property has a lovely ambiance with a bar, a restaurant, and a pool on-site. They also offer surfing lessons, land tours, and other services such as room service massage, motorbike rentals, and airport transfers.
We stayed here for two nights and here is probably where we had the best breakfast buffet. We did some paddle boarding during the afternoon, and then went to the pool for a quick dip while having our martini and amaretto sour. What we love about this place is its laid-back vibe. Its direct beach access, rustic yet elegant suites and villas, delicious Indonesian food, and impeccable service made our stay here worthwhile.
Our beachfront villa provided a captivating view of the resort's stunning blue waters and swaying palm trees. I can just imagine having my morning coffee here in the patio, or just stare at the sunset while listening to the sound of the waves.
Warung, the restaurant inside Siargao Island Villas, offers the finest of Indonesia’s famous dishes, serving a unique blend of spices and flavors carefully prepared to bring out a complete culinary experience. The breakfast spread showcased the rich and diverse flavors of authentic Indonesian cuisine. Halal and vegan options can also be requested.

I think it'd be fun to sort of liveblog looking for countries that haven't abused/exiled Jews
I haven't found a list. So I'm making one.
Let's start with China. China has Jewish communities, and maybe not enough of them to become a target! The perfect amount?
Wow, Jews have lived in China since the 7th century CE. I've heard of the Kaifeng Jews!
Oh, this is ominous: "In the first half of the 20th century, thousands of Jewish refugees escaping from pogroms in the Russian Empire arrived in China. By the time of the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, only a few Jews were known to have maintained the practice of their religion and culture."
Wow, fun fact:
According to an oral tradition dictated by Xu Xin, Director of the Centre for Judaic Studies at Nanjing University, in his book Legends of the Chinese Jews of Kaifeng, the Kaifeng Jews called Judaism Yīcìlèyè jiào (一賜樂業教), lit. the religion of Israel. Yīcìlèyè is a transliteration and partial translation of "Israel".
Surprising and cool:
Famous Venetian traveler Marco Polo, who visited China, then under the Yuan dynasty, in the late 13th century, described the prominence of Jewish traders in Beijing.
Neither surprising nor cool:
Genghis Khan called both Jews and Muslims Huihui when he forbade Jews and Muslims from practicing kosher and halal preparation of their food, calling both of them "slaves" and forcing them to eat Mongol food, and banned them from practicing circumcision.
In the late 1800s a lot of Jews emigrated from India and Iraq to China; they "took a considerable part in developing trade in China, and several served on the municipal councils."
In the early 1900s, 20,000 Jewish refugees from Russian pogroms emigrated to Harbin, in northeast China and "and played a key role in the shaping of local politics, economy and international trade."
Surprisingly:
Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Republic of China, admired the Jewish people and Zionism, and he also saw parallels between the persecution of Jews and the domination of China by the Western powers. He stated, "Though their country was destroyed, the Jewish nation has existed to this day ... [Zionism] is one of the greatest movements of the present time. All lovers of democracy cannot help but support wholeheartedly and welcome with enthusiasm the movement to restore your wonderful and historic nation, which has contributed so much to the civilization of the world and which rightfully deserve [sic] an honorable place in the family of nations."
Wow. It really doesn't go into any more detail about the SMALL gap between "40,000 Jews moved to China from 1845-1945," and "most of these Jews emigrated to Israel or the West... by the time of the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, only a few Jews were known to have maintained the practice of their religion and culture."
That's four years.
Let's look at other sources.
At first, life in Shanghai was peaceful for its newest residents. The Jewish refugees were welcomed by Shanghai residents and they created a strong community with schools and a vibrant social scene. Some refugees began working as dentists and doctors, while others set up shops, cafes and clubs in the neighbourhood.
What the refugees couldn't foresee was they would travel across the globe only to fall into the clutches of the Nazis' most powerful ally. In 1941, Japan seized Shanghai. Acting under instruction from the Nazis, Japanese troops rounded up all of the city's Jews and confined them in Tilanqiao. Shanghai's Jewish ghetto had been born....
According to [historian Dvir] Bar-Gal, even prior to the Japanese invasion, many Jewish refugees in Tilanqiao lived in poverty compared to their comfortable lifestyles back in Europe. Conditions worsened greatly after Japanese soldiers gathered Jews from across Shanghai and forced them to all live within the borders of this newly formed ghetto. Jews were banned from leaving the area, even for work, unless they received permission from Japanese officers, which rarely happened.
Disease and malnutrition plagued the many heinously overcrowded group homes. "It went from a poor neighbourhood to an extremely poor neighbourhood," Bar-Gal said. "Many people had no jobs and lived in communal housing with many other beds and common bathrooms and kitchens. They had zero privacy and almost no food."
Yet, while six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust, and up to 14 million Chinese soldiers and civilians were killed during their nation's war with Japan from 1937 to 1945, the majority of Shanghai's Jewish refugees survived. This remarkable feat was described by Holocaust historian David Kranzler as the "Miracle of Shanghai", and according to Bar-Gal, they survived because Jews weren't a primary target of the Japanese forces.
In 1945, when World War Two ended with the defeat of Japan and Nazi Germany, Japanese troops retreated and most of Shanghai's Jews quickly left, relocating to places like the US, Australia and Canada. But had Shanghai not taken these refugees in, many of these more-than-20,000 Jews may have never survived the Nazi death squads....
The first structure I came across was the imposing old Tilanqiao Prison. During World War Two, the Japanese incarcerated dozens of Jewish refugees and Chinese dissidents behind its thick stone walls. The brutality of the Japanese gave the Jews and the Chinese a common enemy and a shared experience. This connection remains strong, according to Tian.
That still leaves at least another 20,000, though? (I would say almost 20,000, but for the ones who already lived in China.)
Hmm. Here's a paper that says Jews "not only took part in the revolution but had also helped igniting it and then stayed on or joined later. While dealing with this puzzle in my paper, I’ll try to offer a typology of Jewish activists and revolutionaries in China, to explain their motives (by choice or not), and to evaluate their contributions in perspective. It appears that their Jewish identity did not play a direct role in their revolutionary activism, but it did play an indirect role. Included in this study are Grigorii Gershuni, Grigorii Voitinski, Boris Shumiatsky, Michail Borodin, Adolf Joffe, Pavel Mif, David Crook, Sidney Rittenberg, Israel Epstein, Sidney Shapiro, Solomon Adler, Sam Ginsbourg, Michael Shapiro, and more. Their main value to the revolution was mainly writing, translation, communication and publication. Although they were all deeply committed to the Chinese Communist revolution, some of them were jailed – for years – and occasionally more than once. Nonetheless, they continued to believe in, and even to justify, the Chinese Communist Party."
Wait, waaaaait. I was about to try to find the full paper (titled "Combining contradictions: Jewish contributions to the Chinese revolution"), but I ran across this first:
A century ago, the Communist International and the then-Russian Communist Party dispatched several agents to help foment revolution in China, including Russians like Grigori Voitinsky and Vladimir Neiman-Nikolsky and the Dutch Communist Henk Sneevliet. In addition to their shared commitment to Communism, all three were of Jewish heritage.
O rly??
They came with SKILLS!
On the evening of July 30, less than a month after the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), members of the CPC’s First National Congress met for a vote on a new party program. Suddenly, an unfamiliar middle-aged man barged into the meeting hall. “Sorry, I’m in the wrong place,” the man declared before hurrying off.
Sneevliet, well-versed in the techniques used by the police around the world to crack down on revolutionary activities, suggested that the meeting be adjourned and urged members to leave. By the time police arrived 10 minutes later, the building was already cleared out.
If you think that's impressive, try this!
Richard Frey... was an Austrian Jew who fled to Shanghai in the late 1930s. He worked for a hospital in the city until 1941, when he moved to a Communist military base in North China to teach medicine. In 1944, Frey was transferred to the central Communist base in Yan’an in China’s northwest Shaanxi province, where he soon succeeded in producing a crude but much-needed form of penicillin.
He just. Made up his own penicillin for them.
What the entire fuck.
HERE we go!
International Journal of China Studies, December 2020. "Combining Contradictions: Jewish Contributions to the Chinese Revolution," by Yitzhak Shichor, University of Haifa and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Fun Fact:
Jewish Lithuanian activist Grigory Gershuni emigrated from Russia to China by hiding in a barrel of sauerkraut.
Yeah okay, I think China's number one on the list of Hey, Some Countries Didn't Try That!
Next time: Japan? Or Brazil? Hmmmm.

Do you wanna know why I ship Labru. Do you wanna know the true harsh truth.
Yesterday I was out with a good friend of mine and we ate kebab at a shop here. She noted the place's menu is entirely in our Euro language except for the word 'halal' and wondered why they used an Arab word there.
And I was like. Well you can't really translate 'halal', it's a religious concept. It means the food has been prepared following Muslim religious precepts. Mostly the meat.
And then I stopped myself because we were literally eating and I was so close to start talking about halal butchering and the way they have to kill the animal and slit its throat and drain all of the blood which I find utterly fascinating because it might have developed in order to prevent the blood to carry diseases and help conserve the meat better in very hot climates etc etc but that's not. Something a quasi-vegetarian wants to learn about while she's peacefully eating her felafel.
So yeah I ship labru because I want Kabru to be a freak with someone who not only lets him talk but actively matches his freak. For me. Let him be free where I can't
#meowing to myself#cw blood#cw animal death#im being very earnest here. lmao#im the kind of person who goes to medical history museums for fun#i also have other interests!!!! im a very complex and multifaceted person!!!#but i also like. weird things that make others uncomfy

Does Erik end up with The Daroga? You said they end up living together but platonically or romantically?
Platonically I have made tweaks to Erik's canon backstory, having him be in his late teens when he arrives in Persia and the Daroga being a good bit older. The Daroga is one of Erik's few friends and the closest Erik has ever been to having someone he could call family. In my AU Erik spent over 20 years in Persia and has retained some cultural practices due to how much influence the Daroga had on him during that time. I head canon that the Daroga put a lot of emphasis on eating meals together and preparing food as a joint effort. Something Erik has absorbed and retained and would have wanted to pass on to Christine had things gone better. Even in the current AU, being much older and with Persia far behind him my version of Erik still prepares and eats halal food because that's what he's used to and just on the off chance that the Daroga may stop by and be hungry.

Hi, I read Toman and Muslim Reader a while ago and I like it So since Eid al-Adha is near, can you write a second part with the addition of Tenjiku and Yuzuha?
And I wonder what their reaction will be when they discover that a reader cannot marry a person who is not a Muslim unless he converts to Islam and performs all the religious duties as it should.(It was funny when reading Mitsuya and Draken's reaction when they found out that Muslims don't get tattoos 😂😂)
Of course love! Also please tell me how you want to be called. Someone claimed the 🍰nom as an anonymous, you can have a name too!
I think Imma convert to Islam to be honest 'cuz it's such a cool and peaceful and beautiful religion and I honestly hate anyone who thinks of them as terrorists or some other bad thing.
Is what you said 'Eid al-Adha' this festival where you kill/sacrifice a goat or sheep or something? My friend told me that she would do it this wednesday or thursday, as in the festival being two days long or something...? Also she said that she'd fast on the 27th...oh well
Anyways, I actually laughed my ass off when I thought about their shocked faces and then also thinking of each other like 'damn, Draken/Mitsuya has one too!' and then the first one calling the other and berating each other about getting their tattoos removed lol
Also, I'm going to write stuff which is sadly not happening canonly, and I'm only at chapter 139, so please bear with me. Also you didn't tell me which ones, so I just did these below plus your precious Yuzuha.
Also sorry for only posting it now...
Characters: Izana Kurokawa, Kakucho, Ran Haitani, Yuzuha Shiba
I did not proofread.
---
Tokyo revengers with a muslim friend :D , part two
part one , tr with a muslim wife
Izana Kurokawa
Nah bruh, that's not it.
he saw you for the first time when he craved some food in the convenience store
didn't really think much of you at first, but he didn't really see you before
you also didn't really look like a japanese woman, more like a foreigner
so, he just watched you for a bit
you were actually having a pretty good life, and he was a little jealous
but then, one day, you were quickly making your way to a bigger shop, while talking to somebody in a stressed manner, you were sweating and looking around fevereshly
over the time he watched you, he grew somwehat protective of you
and when he saw you like this? He didn't like it
he thought that somebody was after you, and what would be the best way to introduce himself to you?
After all, many people here knew him and also not to mess with him
"my name is Izana Kurokawa, and I noticed that you didn't look very well. Are you alright?"
and when you noticed him, like really staring into his eyes, he lost it
you were the most beautiful woman he's ever met actually, and he felt his breath hitch
"Huh? Oh no, it's alright love, just preparing for a festival is all!"
Festival? But there were no Japanese festivals announced yet-
"Oh, let me introcuce myself first. My name is ____ ______ and I'm from ______. I'm a muslim, as in my religion is Islam, and in a week, a day called Eid-Adha will come and there we will sacrifice a sheep/goat and share some meat with our aquaintances and eat it along with friends and families."
This was too much input, but he managed to understand
"Do you guys have a sheep yet?"
"Sadly no, we also can't buy slughtered meat from the meathouse because it's not halal."
"And what does that mean?"
"It means that the sheep is not slaughtered by a muslim."
"...and what if I bring you an alive sheep? would that be okay?"
"What? Oh, no. No no, please, you don't have to stress yourself, Kurokawa, it's alright!"
Nah, it was not. Your parents were in dire need of a sheep actually
And safe to say, you were secretely happy that the friend you made the day prior did not only help you with your groceries, he also brought you a sheep the next day
...but where did he get that animal from?
after your confrontation, Izana had no choice but to tell you the truth.
He told you about everything that happened and expected you to give him a scared expression and then run away
but you gave him a sad look.
"I can somewhat relate to what you're going through right now. But doing all this because you're holding a grudge against his little brother is not going to lift your spirit, you know?"
You poured him a cup of tea and he thanked you silently.
Izana was surprised that you still talked to him. He really expected you to run away
"would Shinichiro be okay with you trying to hurt his brother? You're Emma's brother, after all. Have you gotten in contact with her yet? I'm sure she'd love to see her sibling again."
Emma...?
Tears spilled from his eyes. His shoulders shook.
"Izana...it's okay. let it all out. God knows what you're going through. He is testing you."
"why..? Why is god doing that to me...?", the leader croaked, and you could see a spark in his eyes.
"Because he loves you. God loves every single living form in this planet. He created us, after all. And he is also the most forgiving of us all.
Talk to Mikey, talk to Emma. Talk to everyone you don't like and see what happens. Hope for the best, pray for the best thing to happen. Imagine how happy Shinichiro would be if he saw his two brothers getting along! Imagine how happy Emma would be to see you again!"
He thought about it, but he was not so sure.
But he tried.
He asked you to accompany him, and you said yes with a smile. you were glad to aid as emotional support.
What you didn't tell him though, was that you already knew Mikey and Toman.
Izana didn't.
And so, Izana met with Mikey, who firstly greeted you, and then also greeted Izana, but with a little less respect.
"Listen, Manjiro Sano, I'm sorry. Surely, you must've read my letters by now,", he started as he noticed a carton boy with opened letters that looked an awful lot like the ones he and Shin sent each other.
"I...was jealous of you. That you were his...real brother. I wanted to be his brother too, but well..."
Mikey understood. "then let's be brothers, Izana."
Izana looked at him with more widened eyes, then he looked at you. You smiled at him.
From that day on, Tenjiku and Toman were good with each other, thanks to a little help of yours.
Izana also felt closer to you. He felt at ease with you. He wanted to know more about you.
Izana wasn't really a religious person, so it gave him a little whiplash when you told him that you could only marry a muslim or a converted muslim.
He never knew that he'd want to try to become or do something for someone
but if it was you, then he'd for sure try.
and it was actually the best experience he had
praying fives times a day was no problem, as you and him frequented a mosque that wasn't too far away from you
he was a little sad by the fact that he couldn't pray with you, but the brothers on the other side welcomed him with open arms
Izana would've actually liked to stay there longer and listen to the men, but he remembered that he had to meet up with you in two minutes
like an excited puppy did he tell you about everything he knew, and only after a second did he realize that you knew most of it already
still, you gave him a smile and encouraged him to learn more
Kakucho
That guy is just as stupid as the others.
He also just noticed you recently, but he found you to be a pretty foreigner
He actually wanted to hang out with you, and so he also introduced himself
"Name's Kakucho, may I know your's, pretty lady?", he was actually quite the charmer (my headcannon)
you smiled, his heart pounded, and you said your name as well
still, you asked him about his scar, which was...very visible
"Ah, just a little accident!"
"Really? Poor you ...Oh, it's time for me to go, it was nice hanging out with you! See you soon!"
and with that, you left.
like Izana, Kakucho felt the strong need to look after you.
I mean, c'mon, who wouldn't want to protect a pretty girl like you?
Kakucho also hoped that he'd have a chance with you, but we'll come to that later
Safe to say, you two saw each other very soon
some nameless delinquents were cornering you and you had no other choice but to scream
Out of curiosity, Izana's "brother", looked at the source
and he saw red.
you were holding your purse close to your chest and pressed yourself against the wall, and in front of you were three guys with knifes in their hands
"give us you-" *CRUNCH*
the first one fell down, two more to go
You stared at the body on the ground, he must've given the guy a concussion
then you looked at your savior, who just punched the other two away and came to you
"Are you alright, ____?" "Yeah, I'm fine. But you didn't have to beat them up like that. but...but still, thank you."
he smiled and blushed and felt so happy that he saved you
"It was no big deal, but hey-; what were you doing at this hour? It's already past six!"
"I had to pick up my little brother from his friend's house. um, would you like to accompany me? I don't want to get attacked again, you know? I mean, if you're free at the moment...!"
Could this day get any better?
"Sure! You know where he lives?"
"Yup!"
and so, you two talked and laughed along the way here.
the topics lead to religion, and how you loved doing your prayers, spending money for charities, to your ideal type of husband,...somehow
"...and, well, my husband has to be a muslim as well!"
"Really? So...uh, if we're speaking of a friend, and he really likes that girl, but she is muslim, but they are close friends, and the guy thinks he has a chance with her...then...should he just-- convert to Islam?"
You felt your cheeks heat up. Why? guess we'll never know
"Uh, yeah! Y-yeah, sure! But! I-it shouldn't be taken lightly! Fulfilling the five prayers is not easy, or reading the Quran, or learning arabic, or doing your best at all times. Of course, the religion is beautiful and makes a better human out of you, but it is not to be taken lightly, and shouldn't be accepted because out of love to a person, but to Allah.
He created us after all. And the only thing he wants from us is to believe in him, to look for him when times get rough, to search assurements from him when you do not feel well, to thank him for having such a life as yours, even if it's bad. It could always get worse, so always be grateful for your creator."
Kakucho then started thinking more of the religion than of you
mans never had such a peaceful feeling when he was listening to podcasts of converted muslims and men or sheikhs talking about things that can or shouldn't be done
Kakucho thought that he'd never see heaven, but he prayed
"dear god, sorry for only talking to you now, but there's this girl I like-no, I love her! And well, it's kinda stupid of me to say this, because you know, 'cuz you created us and shit, but...could you maybe bring us together? I'll also try my best in becoming a muslim!"
He just hopes his prayers were heard
Eid-Adha came and you were busy as heck
you didn't have time to pick up kakucho's phone (let's imagine they have phones in that timeline) because of making all the food and cleaning up the house
boy did he get worried
he was already by your door and ready to know when his phone rang
it was you
he didn't even let it ring the second time and picked up the call
"Y-yeah?"
"Kakucho? Are you alright? Why did you call me so often? Did something happen?"
Again, he relished the fact that you were worried about him
"Ah, it's nothing, I was just asking you if you'd like to hang out with me today?"
"I'm sorry, but I'm still preparing the food for our holiday!"
"Oh! I'm sorry! I totally forgot about it-"
"Hey boy, stop standing in the way!", a male interrupted
the man was carrying a cut sheep
Kakucho thought about punching the man but started helping him when he remembered in front of who's house he stood
'if that guy is her father, then I have to leave the best first impressions!'
Kakucho. You were still in your gang uniform. YOU HAVE A SCAR ON YOUR FACE.
But the man didn't let a single emotion be noticed than hard work and fatigue, so he didn't really fight the delinquent who shockingly offered his help in a sweet tone and nice smile
"Dad, you're late- Kakucho?!", you yelped.
"You two know each other?", your mother chimed in as she examined the boy who was now standing with the cut sheep, your father let himself fall on a leathered chair
"Yeah, he's the one who saved me from the bad guys!"
'YOU TOLD THEM ABOUT ME?!?!?'
his day couldn't get any better
"Hello, my name is Kakucho, and I'm glad I could help, I'll be taking my leave now-"
"Stay."
Kakucho and you looked at your dad with surprised faces
"Who'll help me cut it into smaller pieces? My wife is tired and my daughter is not strong enough"
of course you objected because well, you're a girlboss/feminist
but eh
let the men do something for a change
and that's how kakucho ended up laughing at your parents stories of you being the clumsiest baby they had, with you dying out of embarrassment of course
your dad took him out for a moment
"Do you like me daughter?"
"Y-yes sir."
"You know that you have to be a muslim to marry her, right?"
"Yes sir."
"Tomorrow. 1. at this address, and don't you dare come late."
It was the address to a mosque
what could happen next?
Ran Haitani
That twisted mf
he actually couldn't have cared less about who you were
he actually was just strolling around Roppongi, looking for trouble to deal with
then he saw you
sweet, in your own little world, happily walking your way
bro nah
of course he followed you and made himself known
"Oh, hello? can I help you?"
"Yeah, uh...tell me. What's a sweet little thing like you doing here? And all alone?"
Please I'd punch that guy
"Well, I just had to do my groceries, and I just can't seem to find this store...do you know where it is? It's one of the only stores here that sell halal food"
he didn't know what halal meant but he'd for sure ask you later
And of course he knew every single shop here
he and Rindou owned Roppongi after all
when I tell you that he's been through the five stages of confusion
1. staring at the name, then the shop
2. then smiling reassuringly at you
3. looking at the shop's name again with a frown this time
4. calling one of his allies
5. telling you the truth
you being down, him feeling unwell
ran could've been a little dissappointed in himself for not knowing that shop, but oh well
"according to google maps, I should cross this road!"
'she has a phone? It looks rather new too-'
"Aw, man...there's so much traffic...how am I going to cross it?"
this 'gentleman' told you to follow him
all the damn cars stopped
you were shocked but also happy
ran's pride flared up
and you guys actually made it to the shop
this is the second part of five stages of confusion
1. why is there a different smell in every direction he breathes?
2. why is there such a wide variety of tea??
3. why are there sausages, onions and fish hanging from the ceiling?
4. why was there a cat on the cash register?
5. what did you need from here?
an elder man came to view and you bowed politely
ran felt somewhat out of place when you talked to the grandpa in a foreign language
the man studied your paper and put everything you needed in a bag
then he said something which made you mad
you quickly fished out your money and slammed it on the counter
the man yelled something
you yelled something
you pushed ran out of the shop
you ran out
but not before petting the sweet cat, which purred in return
and you sighed angrily
"uhm...what was that??"
"he didn't want to accept the money."
"so? good for you."
"wha- no! I was the first customer there. He had this shop only opened recently. and I felt pity on him, so I gave him thrice from the actual price I had to pay."
"why?"
"Because that's what people from my family do!"
He didn't understand you
but he wanted to get to know you more
so he tried to accompany you as much as possible
and well, you two became friends
and you talked about your religion a lot
ran liked that about you
that you were a kind young lady, who only wanted the best for everybody
but he froze when you once spilled the tea about one od your cousins from your dad's side
"and she wants to marry an American, I mean, can you believe it?!"
"wait, what's so special about it? I mean, if she loves him, then...you know...?"
"Yes, but he is not muslim. And he doesn't want to convert to Islam. That's the problem."
"...I don't- I don't understand-"
"A muslim woman has to marry a muslim man. This is tradition and religion."
"Oh.", that's when he froze.
Ran also came to terms that he really liked you from that moment.
Like, he really really liked you.
that...that might be a problem.
"So...marriages between a muslim woman and a non-muslim man are not allowed?"
"Nope."
"And what about you? would you marry a non-muslim man?"
And you laughed. Was this a joke to you?
"Why would I marry a non-muslim man? I don't need a person who hasn't got the same beliefs as I do. Also, I don't need a man even half as much as I need Allah, Ran."
'Huh'
Guess he'll convert to Islam then.
Yuzuha Shiba
This precious baby girl
She actually knew you from Emma and Hina (let's pretend they know each other)
she loves how modest you dress and how mature you act
she loves how you can cook sweet oriental food and also tell the craziest stories which you had with your cousins
this girl
however
doesn't get
why you don't have a boyfriend yet
like
the first option would be her brother, because Yuzuha thinks that you would be the best wife for him
and uh, well, she doesn't really know anybody else
but
she doesn't like that you have to marry a muslim guy
like c'mon
"why can't you just marry Hakkai, ____?"
"Aren't you christians? And Hakkai always freezes up when I'm near-"
"sheesh, he'll get over it. And he can convert."
"Yuzuha, no. I don't want him to accept another religion because of a girl. He has to accept it himself. and why are you so mad about the fact that I have to marry a muslim? I wouldn't want to marry any of these guys here. every single boy in our age is a delinquent."
"But...does that mean that you'll go back to your country? What if we never see each other again?"
"....Are you guilt-tripping me right now?"
"...is it working?"
You two cried after a few seconds while hugging each other
your precious holiday came near where you sadly had to kill one of your goats
you didn't kill, your father and his friends, but still
you cried when you saw the head
you wanted to irk your bestie out
"look what they did to him...!", you said over the phone.
"What do you- EEEEEWWWW, ____! Why'd you show me that?! Euehzfg....Heuvghghg, I think I'm gonna puke-"
You heard puking sounds and you gagged as well, but you also chuckled.
"I c r i e d when I saw the head. I don't wanna suffer alone, love."
"But why me though?!"
"Cuz you're my bestieeeee <3"
please just pretend they all have phones.
"Also do you wanna eat? I made food. It's our holiday after all!!!"
of course she came over
But she was mad surprised when she saw the amount of food there
she's never seen so different looking stuff
she wanted to eat something from every plate
and she did
little by little
you two gained at least two pounds
you two were not happy
but full.
and that's all that matters. :D
---
guys I wrote stuff that might not suit your expectations or what is not correct, because again, it is all from the knowledge my muslim friend gave me.
but also please feel free to correct me if I made a mistake!

The key difference between halal and non-halal (or haram) meat lies in the religious guidelines, particularly within Islam, that dictate how the meat is sourced and prepared. Here's an overview:
1. Slaughter Method:
Halal Meat: To be considered halal, the animal must be slaughtered according to Islamic law, called "Zabiha." This process involves:
The slaughtering must be done by a sane adult Muslim.
The name of God (Allah) must be invoked by saying “Bismillah Allahu Akbar” (In the name of God, God is the greatest).
The animal’s throat, windpipe, and blood vessels are cut with a sharp knife, while not severing the spinal cord, allowing for the blood to drain out. Blood is considered impure in Islam.
Non-Halal Meat: Non-halal meat may come from animals that were not slaughtered according to these guidelines. This could include methods where the animal was stunned or killed in a manner that does not comply with Islamic law, or when the religious invocation is not recited.
2. Animal Type:
Halal Meat: Only certain animals are allowed to be eaten in Islam. For example, permissible (halal) animals include cows, goats, sheep, chickens, etc. Pork and its by-products are strictly forbidden.
Non-Halal Meat: Meat from animals like pigs or animals that have died without being slaughtered properly are considered haram (forbidden). Similarly, carnivorous animals and birds of prey are also forbidden in Islam.
3. Preparation and Processing:
Halal Meat: It must be processed and prepared using utensils, equipment, and surfaces that have not come into contact with non-halal substances like pork or alcohol.
Non-Halal Meat: There are no such religious restrictions in non-halal meat preparation. It may be prepared using the same equipment used for pork or other non-halal products.
4. Religious and Ethical Considerations:
Halal Meat: The halal process is also associated with ethical treatment. Islam emphasizes treating animals with respect, ensuring minimal suffering during slaughter.
Non-Halal Meat: Ethical considerations vary by producer or country, but they are generally not guided by religious mandates.
In summary, the difference between halal and non-halal meat comes down to how the animal is treated, slaughtered, and prepared according to Islamic laws and guidelines.
The question of cruelty in meat production depends largely on individual perspectives, ethics, and how "cruelty" is defined. Both halal and non-halal methods aim to minimize suffering, but the least cruel approach would depend on factors like the conditions in which the animals are raised, how they're handled, and how slaughter is carried out.
Halal Meat:
Animal welfare focus: Halal guidelines emphasize treating animals with respect. For instance, animals must be well-treated, given proper food and water, and not slaughtered in front of other animals. The knife must be sharp to ensure a quick death, which is intended to minimize suffering.
No stunning: In many halal slaughterhouses, stunning (rendering the animal unconscious before slaughter) is not permitted, although in some countries, stunning is allowed before halal slaughter as long as the animal is still alive during the process. Opponents argue that without stunning, the animal may experience more pain.
Non-Halal Meat:
Stunning: Most non-halal meat production, especially in Western countries, uses stunning methods (e.g., electrical or mechanical stunning) to render the animal unconscious before slaughter. Proponents argue that this reduces pain and suffering because the animal is not aware when it's killed.
Varied practices: Non-halal practices vary greatly depending on the country and slaughterhouse. While stunning may reduce suffering, factory farming and industrial slaughter methods can be harmful if animal welfare standards are not enforced, leading to stressful environments for animals before slaughter.
Which is least cruel?
Halal advocates argue that the quick, ritual cut ensures a faster death, with proper preparation and ethical treatment.
Non-halal advocates, especially those who prioritize stunning, argue that rendering the animal unconscious first is more humane.
Ultimately, both systems can be humane or cruel, depending on how closely they adhere to ethical treatment standards. Many modern halal and non-halal slaughterhouses are inspected for humane practices, but issues can arise in either system if those standards are neglected.
From a cruelty-minimizing perspective, the least cruel system is likely one that prioritizes animal welfare throughout the entire process—from farming practices to slaughter—whether it's halal or non-halal.
Educate yourself before spewing hate. If you don't want to be cruel stop eating meat.

Partner part 3
Part One, Part Two
Salim decided to allow Jason time alone while Salim attended to his duties as regent. Five years he followed the routine, but today he was distracted with thoughts of Jason. Salim was curious about the young man: why he volunteered to join the matchmaking pool, where he came from, what the tattoo on his arm looked like... Salim half expected to run across Jason at some point in the day, but they never crossed paths. Which left Salim to wonder how Jason was choosing to spend his time.
Salim retired to his rooms for the evening. The moment he walked in he caught the scent of food. He glanced over to the adjoining room where Jason sat eating with his bare hands.
“We have utensils,” Salim informed him. Jason looked up and flashed him a smile, his lips lined with sauce. He lifted his hands to wiggle stained fingers at Salim.
“You don't eat Sloppy Joes with utensils.”
“What?”
“Your cooks didn't know what it was, either,” Jason nodded. He paused to pop a finger in his mouth and suck the mess off. “I had to explain it to 'em. Think I near gave 'em a heart attack.” Salim laughed and drew closer in curiosity. The ground meat looked like it was soaked in sauce. His amusement grew: he could easily picture his chefs looking scandalized when Jason requested the food. “You want some?” Jason invited. “They told me it's 'halal', whatever that means.”
“It means 'permitted',” Salim explained. He sank down on a cushion next to Jason. “We need our meat prepared a certain way for it to be considered 'halal'.” He eyed the mess warily.
“I hear you thinkin',” Jason announced. The odd turn of phrase caught Salim's attention.
“I wasn't aware you were a telepath.”
“I'm just askin' what's on your mind, smart-ass,” Jason retorted, making Salim chuckle again. He couldn't explain why, but he enjoyed the teasing banter that was building between them. Jason flashed a smile at him and nudged the sandwich in his direction. “Don't knock it 'til you try it.”
Salim gingerly picked up the sandwich. He could immediately feel the sauce seeping out and dripping onto his fingers. He tried taking a quick bite and got sauce on his chin. Jason burst out laughing.
“You're terrible,” Salim complained, though his smile softened the words. “But the sandwich is delicious.” In fact, as he ate with Jason, Salim found himself having fun with the messy food. He and Jason laughed at each other as they got sauce all over themselves; they held up hands to compare finger stains. Salim was a little sad when it was all eaten and cleaned up.
“What'd you do all day?” Jason asked him.
“Went to meetings, filed paperwork, addressed citizen petitions. My usual duties. What about you?”
“Walked around, mostly.” Jason leaned back a little on his cushion. “Your servants all seem to like you. And you got one hell of a garden.”
“Thank you,” Salim bowed. “I put a lot of work in it.”
“Yeah, sure,” Jason scoffed skeptically. After a moment he added, “No shit? You did all of it yourself?” Salim answered with a shrug, strangely pleased by the impressed tone in Jason's voice. “So what's on the agenda tomorrow?” Jason asked.
“Same as today, I imagine,” Salim mused. “I may go into town at some point.”
“Am I supposed to come along?”
“Only if you want to.”
Jason considered for a moment. “What do I wear?”
“Whatever you want,” Salim assured him.
“What if I make you look bad?” Jason challenged with a teasing smirk.
“You are welcome to try,” Salim responded with a matching smirk. He was really growing to like this man. His eyes followed the scattering of freckles on Jason's cheeks. “Would you like to join me for breakfast?” he invited. “You can give me your decision about accompanying me then.”
“Sure,” Jason agreed. “I'll make sure to ask the cooks to make some weird shit.”
“Menace,” Salim accused in a playful tone.
“Asshole,” Jason responded, matching him. “Goodnight, Salim,” he added in a more gentle voice.
“Goodnight,” Salim echoed. He walked to his room feeling lighter and happier than he felt in years.

Emirati Customs
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), local customs are deeply rooted in Islamic traditions and Bedouin heritage. Here are some key aspects of Emirati customs through social interactions, food, clothing, religion, and celebrations.
Social Interactions
Greetings Emiratis typically greet each other with a handshake and the phrase "As-salamu alaykum" (peace be upon you). It's also common for men to embrace and kiss each other on the cheek. Women may greet each other with a kiss on the cheek or a hug, but it's best to let them initiate the greeting.
Hospitality Emiratis are known for their hospitality and generosity. Guests are often offered Arabic coffee and dates as a sign of welcome. It's considered polite to accept these offerings.
Respect for elders Elders are highly respected in Emirati society. It's customary to show deference to them by standing up when they enter a room, addressing them formally, and offering them the best seat.
Modesty Modesty is important in Emirati culture. Both men and women are expected to dress conservatively, especially in public places. Women typically wear an abaya (a long, loose-fitting robe) and a headscarf.
Food
Communal eating Sharing meals is an important part of Emirati culture. It's common for families and friends to gather for large meals, often served on the floor.
Hand-to-mouth eating In some traditional settings, it's customary to eat with your right hand, as the left hand is considered unclean.
Halal food Muslims in the UAE consume halal food, which is prepared according to Islamic dietary guidelines. Pork and alcohol are prohibited.
Other Customs
Ramadan During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. It's important to be respectful of this practice and avoid eating or drinking in public during fasting hours.
Prayer Muslims pray five times a day. Many shops and businesses close briefly during prayer times.
Weekend The weekend in the UAE is Friday and Saturday. Friday is the holy day for Muslims, and many people attend congregational prayers at mosques.
It's important to note that the UAE is a diverse country with people from various cultural backgrounds. While these customs are generally followed by Emirati nationals, you may encounter variations depending on the specific community or region.
When visiting the UAE, it's always a good idea to be mindful of local customs and traditions. This will not only help you avoid any cultural faux pas but also show respect for the local people and their way of life.

SKZ Reaction to S/O Celebrating Eid
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: fem!reader, muslim!reader, mentions of food, i included mood boards but if you guys think they’re offensive in some way or don’t like them tell me and i’ll remove them!, if i missed anything let me know!
Author’s Note 1: I was supposed to post this 2 weeks ago on Eid, but I decided to wait it out due to certain events at that time. RIP Moonbin❤️
Author’s Note 2: Yes I am well aware Muslims aren’t supposed to date, and I’m also well aware that Muslim people who do date refrain from it during the month of Ramadan. However this is a reaction, an imagine, and that’s exactly what it is– imagining! So don’t come for me for this, thankssss
Author’s Note 3: Eid Mubarak to those celebrating!❤️☪️
Author’s Note 4: I love doing this Muslim!Reader series. Do you guys wanna see a ‘dating a Desi!Reader’ or something like that? Let me know!
mood boards are mine, gifs are not mine
Bang Chan:
Omg he’s so excited
Chan is especially excited when you show him the matching black outfits you ordered online
He had never worn such clothing before and he was ecstatic that he could share this experience with you
Chan felt absolutely horrible that you didn’t really have a chance to celebrate Eid the proper way in Korea, due to the lack of Muslims here
So he suggested that on the night of Eid, you two would host a dinner at a hall Chan rented out and you’d invite people from JYP, his members, and close idol friends
Chan insisted that you two cook for everyone since he wanted to learn how to make your traditional dishes and other Eid staple foods
What really made your heart tingle was when Chan told you the night before Eid to get up early in the morning because you two were gonna go to the Eid prayer at Seoul Central Mosque
He remembered to vlog the whole day so that this could be posted later on for Muslim STAY; he felt they’d really appreciate it
Chan had so much fun preparing for Eid as much as he did on the actual Eid day
That day he made a mental note that he was going to spend every single Eid with you from now on
AKA Chan decided he’s going to marry you, lucky girl
“Baby you’re home! So I was looking at more recipes, and I found this dish I want to make for the Eid dinner but I wanted to try and make it today so I don’t mess it up later. How’s the taste?”
LeeKnow:
He is determined to make this the best day of your life
And his determine only grows when he’s out with the members one day in Itaewon and sees that there’s a shop selling lots of styles of traditional Eid clothing
Immediately brought you back to the shop the next day and bought you two matching Eid outfits
While you were in the area he took you to a Halal grocery store and you bought ingredients together for dishes you two wanted to make for Eid
Minho decided he’d invite the members over for Eid and feed them the dishes you two would prepare together
He insisted on doing all the cooking since he found YouTube videos he could follow, and he assigned the desserts to you
He’d make sure that when you call your parents, you do a video call so you can show them the outfits you’re wearing
Mainly, he wanted to show off the food you two prepared
You were kinda stuck translating tho sorry
He’d ask if you wanna go to the mosque for the Eid prayer. If you didn’t he’d make sure you didn’t miss the time to pray it at home
But if you wanted to go, he’d drag Jisung along because he thought Jisung could guide him since he lived in Malaysia (Minho was wrong, Jisung was somehow even more confused than Minho)
*you’re on the phone with your mom* “Yeah, jagi, tell her this is comfortable. Oh did you show her the food? Well, show her! I worked hard! Tell her the kebabs were so fun to make but the hardest dish was…”
Changbin:
He goes ALL. OUT.
And I really mean like this guy has your jaw dropping the entire day
This guy plans everything at his parents’ house. Yes, the big rich vibe one.
So first he’d insist that you two go home to wear the outfits he bought for you after you’re done with the Eid prayer at the mosque
Which by the way, his choice when he ordered these made you fall in love with him even more
Anyways, you’d get ready and y’all would pull up to his parents house which had you confused but when you walked in, you guessed it; your jaw dropped
In the house waiting for you two were Changbin’s parents, his sister, the members, some family, and his sister’s close friends ALL DRESSED IN YOUR COUNTRY’S CLOTHES
As you looked around the place you saw that the whole place was decorated top to bottom for Eid
And the dining table was filled with food from your country that he ordered
You all had a blast the entire day and he made sure you showed your parents everything on a video call
And since it’s Changbin, along with your Eidi he also got you a gift; a gold chain with his name written in Arabic
“This is too much? YAH! For you, I’d have all of Korea celebrating Eid in a heartbeat! I could do anything in the world if it was for you!”
Hyunjin:
Your personal photographer. ALL. DAY. LONG.
Literally from the morning since you started getting ready, he had his camera out and was taking candid pictures of you
And all day he was making yo pose, and even took more candids of you just enjoying yourself and slaying in your fit
You guys didn’t go to Eid prayer because you woke up so late you wouldn’t have made it in time, so you prayed at home
But poor baby was so confused; men have to pray in front of women in Islam so he was completely lost and just followed you looking in the mirror
Made sure to post an “Eid Mubarak” on Bubble because he thought the fans would appreciate it
One thing I forgot to mention in the Ramadan post is that the ENTIRE month, Kkami was at Hyunjin’s parents’ house.
Like girl , that's how much he loves you; he kept his dog away during your holy month.
Hyunjin definitely helped you prepare food for Eid
Although he kinda was like a lost puppy but he followed your instructions quite well!
Would be so surprised with all the flavor bursting in his mouth, he wished every day was Eid
“Jagi, what is this?? Can we eat this every week?”
Han Jisung:
Out of all the members Jisung was the most excited
He spent a couple years in Malaysia so he was there for a couple Ramadans and Eids
So he was feeling quite nostalgic and was really eager to celebrate Eid with you
Jisung was especially excited to choose the Eid outfits online with you
He also made sure you guys were up bright and early for Fajr and stayed up to make it to Eid prayer early
You’d spend some time in the Masjid with all the Muslims surrounding the area or take a walk in Itaewon before heading back to your place where you’d eat delicious food
As for the food, you were making it all the night before Eid and Jisung walked into your place seeing you working so hard. So quite reluctantly, he decide to come help you
He was nervous hed mess the food up but he actually was huge help
Jisung would also remember to go live on YouTube at some point of the day for about an hr so he could celebrate Eid with Muslim STAY
And of course he’d beg Felix or Seungmin to take lots and lots of photos of the two of you because y’all were slaying
“Ooh we look so good! Hey, do you think your mom could send me more of these clothes? Preferably matching with yours hehe..”
Felix:
THE ABSOLUTE SWEETEST
LIKE HE LITERALLY MAKES YOUR HEART MELT THE ENTIRE DAY
Felix spent the entirety of Ramadan memorizing how to recite the Eid prayer so that he could lead you in prayer (bye I’m crying)
He spent hours finding recipes you two could make for Eid
But also spent hours shopping for your Eid fits which he eventually settled on and when they arrived you were shocked because they were SO BEAUTIFUL
You and Felix decided to make little bento boxes for staff and idols at JYP to give out on Eid
So you’d make your traditional foods plus some desserts
Did I mention that he spent time on Pinterest and Instagram looking for Eid couple poses??
Okay well I’m mentioning it now. And he had Seungmin take all the pictures which turned out absolutely perfect
He got all the pictures washed and he made an Eid scrapbook for you two to keep as a keepsake (he’s so romantic)
“Baby should I make cookies?? I have moon and star cookie cutters!”
Seungmin:
Your photographer pt. 2
He forced you to get up early so you wouldn’t miss the Eid prayer at the mosque
You wore your Eid fits to the mosque and had someone take really cute but modest pictures of you two inside the mosque (gave you Nikkah/Katb-al-Kitaab vibes fr)
You asked Seungmin to help you prepare Eid food and he happily agreed
You guys even made cute Eid themed cupcakes to hand out in the JYP building
You would make a video call to back home and Seungmin would be going on and on to your family about how much he learned during Ramadan and all the new things he’s been doing for Eid
Asked Felix to take couple pictures of you two and Felix happily agreed
You wondered what he was gonna do with all these pictures, but your question was answered 2 weeks later
Similar to Felix, Seungmin had the pictures washed out and printed into a beautiful photo album. He sent one copy to your family and had one delivered to your home
He makes this a tradition for every year
“Sweetheart get up, we’ll be late to the prayer. What do you always tell me, that Allah is watching, right? Get up or I throw cold water in your face.”
I.N:
Aw Jeongin is extremely excited to be a part of a different culture
He’s always been so interested in everything about your religion and culture so he’s been waiting so patiently for Eid to come around
He wasn’t gonna get matching outfits until he saw so many TikToks Felix sent him of couples getting matching Eid fits
Felix asked if you and Jeongin were getting matching fits and Jeongin ran to his laptop to order something for you two
He was nervous to pray at the mosque even though he’s prayed with you before, because he heard the Eid prayer was a bit different and he didn’t want to mess up
So you two prayed at home which turned out to be better since it was such an intimate affair
Jeongin was also nervous to help you cook but he helped as he didn’t want all the pressure going on you.
You guys took all the food to Jeongin’s parent’s house and spent most of the day there.
He was surprised at all the delicious food, so he decided to go live on Instagram to showcase all the delicious food you two made closely to STAY
As a surprise, the night before Eid, Jeongin met up with Felix and they made Eid themed cupcakes together that matched both of your outfits
You fell in love with him even more of course
“You know what, this look is growing on me jagiya. Let’s wear these more often.”

Last week, the California Senate Education Committee passed the Halal and Kosher School Meals Act by a unanimous vote of 7-0.
The bill, which coincides with both the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Passover, requires California public schools to provide halal and kosher meal options to students if the school requires it.
“When suitable meals aren’t available for these students, they often have to go without eating at school, something that is fundamentally unfair and clearly detrimental to their educational experience,” said Senator Josh Newman, who also chairs the Senate Education Committee.
New California bill pushes for schools to give less homework
Both halal and kosher diets are religious guidelines regarding a mix of food preparation and ingredients that are considered permissible to use:
Kosher meals adhere to Jewish dietary law, which involves specific animal selection preparation methods and the prohibition of mixing meat and dairy.
Halal meals are considered permissible under Islamic Law. They include meat from animals slaughtered in a specific manner and exclude food like pork.
Research shows that many Jewish and Muslim students abide by Kosher and Halal practices.
A 2021 report by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) found that 83% of American Muslims either only purchase halal-certified foods or prefer halal foods while still purchasing non-certified options if not religiously forbidden.
“There have been various times where at school I had to skip out on eating lunch because, by the time I got through the lunch line, everything I could eat was out,” said Rosa Haideri, a Muslim student from the Elk Grove Unified School District who testified at the hearing.
Another 2021 study from the Pew Research Center found approximately 22% of American Jews keep kosher in their homes.
“Every student deserves to feel supported and included at school,” Newman said. “Kids shouldn’t have to choose between hunger and adhering to their religious beliefs.”
According to the Senate of Education Committee, the bill will take effect in the 2025 -2026 school year. Schools where more than 5% of the population express a preference for halal or kosher options will be required to provide these meals.

/Okay so, I guess follow up q for the Food ask you just answered for your theme park:
where can I get food assuming I have dietary restrictions? (okay so I'm mostly wondering about celiac (no gluten), peanut allergy and nut allergy but if there are other options for other dietary restrictions feel free to tell me!!)
Accessibility is extremely important to me, and you may rest assured the menu for every major eatery clearly labels its common allergens and other potential issues, and includes multiple alternatives so people with dietary restrictions aren't locked into just one or two options. Allergen-free meals are prepared using separate cooking dishes and ovens to minimize cross-contamination and, importantly, do not cost any more than their equivalents.
Religious and personal choice restrictions are also on our radar! All beef and poultry in the park is certified kosher/halal, and vegetarian/vegan dishes are available at most of the major eateries.
In general, the variety of food on offer should ensure that no one goes hungry on their adventure no matter what their requirements.
