I'm playing a mha game rn (MHA:TSH) and I have to fight All Might as Izuku. I'm pretty strong as him but like. How did AFO put up with this? I've been fighting and losing for 5 irl days. He is impossible, I'm close but I've never had to play ANYTHING for this long.

we know that mathilda took jeremy's documents and even though he's searched the house on different occasions, he can't find them. we also know that the only thing that survived the house fire was what laila & cat kept in the safe, which i assume was their documents.

so what if jeremy requests duplicates/reissues of his? if he says he kept them in the house and they got burned, it's not like mathilda can go "well actually, i've had them hidden all along". it would be weird that they weren't in his primary place of residence, yes, but why would a wilshire want a second social security card and passport? the wilshire name would clear him of suspicion for fraud etc i think.

OF COURSE. This is in fact a separate story, one where River has been missing for more than a week and a hospital finally calls saying that the Slough House landline was the only number their mystery patient said to call. They're all convinced River got himself in trouble - again - but it turns out for once, it's actually not his fault. It's Lamb's.

Perhaps if he hadn’t known River - or at least, of River - for most of the man’s life, he would feel differently. Maybe if he hadn’t known the Old Bastard for years, and hated him more than most, which was a high bar. Maybe if River was even half the bastard his grandfather was, Lamb would’ve found it easier to dislike him, or leave him to wallow in the ego was sure River would have, with David Cartwright as a grandfather.

Truth be told, he’d expected someone more like Spider. Some slicked back, arrogant little shit who got his suits and shaves down on Savile Row, who would rant about how his grandfather wouldn’t allow him to be treated with such disrespect, and to just wait until my grandfather hears about this.

Instead, he got River.

River arrived at Slough House with less than most - he didn’t last long enough to get a desk to clean out before finding himself in exile. As Catherine showed him around the building, River offered very little, and what he did say were mostly minor and vague pleasantries. He didn’t complain about the small, dark room he was relegated to, which was by design directly below Lamb’s own office so he could subject the younger Cartwright to having to listen through thin walls and thinner ceiling to whatever struck Lamb’s fancy for a form of torture.

Lamb made all the right noises, vowing to make River quit by the end of the first day, and if by some wild happenstance he was wrong about River’s capacity for punishment, by the end of the first week. He pointed out River’s monumental failure - a training exercise? You didn’t even fail at real life - that he wouldn’t even be a footnote in his grandfather’s legacy because surely, David would disavow him just as the Park had.

He expected indignation, and protests that Lamb was full of shit or didn’t know anything about him, and he would be back at the Park as soon as he called his grandfather and pulled some strings. He expected the normal whining that came with every new Slough House addition, dialed up to eleven to accommodate Park Royalty entitlement. He expected rage.

But the only anger River had was for himself.

You're his self proclaimed, so called, 'older sister'. The first thing you do when you meet a friend of his, or a supposed girlfriend to be more accurate, is introduce yourself as his older sister. Whenever anyone claims that there's any romance between you guys, you refute it and call him your stupid little brother.

Don't even get me started on how awkward it is to keep being so possessive over her when y'all aren't even an item (I'M LOOKING AT YOU TOO SHINICHI. GLARING REAL HARD HERE.). If she's seeing some other guy (which would never happen because of course she has fallen head over heals for you. Ugh- this is triggering my gag reflex.) then leave her be, because you either act like a chicken after being all bark and no bite or idk, grow a spine and fricking confess??? I would like to know what they actually even talk about or bond over. From what I understood, Kazuha really likes the sound of his katana when he practices, which is high-key weird and makes me feel deaf cause how do you even hear that sort of stuff? And... What does Heiji like about her again? These guys need to explain what they like about their crushes more often. Or at least maybe ask themselves about it every once in a while, yk, just to make sure all of this stress is worth it. I will NOT be talking about Aoko and Kaito purely for the sake of my heart and blood pressure; they can only handle one dcmk couple at a time.

In conclusion, a man with an unresolved inferiority/superiority complex–because he somehow has both–so severe he cannot function without making it about his rival should not be looking for a relationship before seeing a therapist. Thank God his actual friendship with Shinichi isn't an eighth as bad as you'd think it should be; they're one of the most iconic duos ever, let's just keep their love lives outta the mix (Heiji is high-key supportive though, so there's that ig).

Edit: Came back after I realized I phrased my opinion on Heiji and Shinichi's friendship in a way that was easy to misinterpret. What I mean to say is that they're my favorite dcmk duo but I just can't stand how Heiji prioritizes one upping Shinichi rather than getting his feelings out there. I say Heiji ditches Kazuha as a love interest and forms a trio with Shinichi and Shiho. They'd be unstoppable homies that would do the unspeakable for each other.

Enjoying Columbo is all fun and games until you start saying stuff like “oh well I’m much obliged for the opportunity but that’s outta my bailiwick at the moment” in casual conversation.

I sound like I’m about to run into an office and yell “STAHP THA PRESSES” even though there’s one (1) singular inkjet printer in the building.

FR!!! I find myself thinking "gee, that's funny" whenever I have a spare moment to think about something.

Whenever I have those Columbo moments, I think about it in his lil accent/way of speaking too. I have to stop myself from saying " 'beg ur pard'n?" or "who, me? naw u got me all wrong, doc" at any given moment. It's like im an old fashioned lil guy

I feel like im in the phase rn where I'm still 'taking in' the show episode by episode. I'm still trying to understand Columbo as a character as well as what would be seen as a front and what would be seen as his genuine self. Cause thats the interesting thing about the show - he can be interpreted in so many ways. Granted I'm only on s2e2 rn but as someone who needs to know if someone is being sarcastic or not, Columbo can be pretty confusing, but entertaining nontheless.

Either way, I'm slowly exiting the 'puppy love' phase rn with the show cause I wanted to watch cause I saw some cool clips & thought he was both silly & good looking. Now that I'm taking in the show piece by piece, I get to appreciate Falk as an actor as well as everyone else involved within the production of the show. Its similar to my experiences watching Seinfeld and Monk, I started watching for one reason or another, think a character is really cool or attractive, then further look into my favorite character's actor & the roles that they've played and the artistry behind it. Being able to watch shows in that sense is very appealing, but I could ramble about that take for hours.

All this to say I'm excited to start getting into Columbo like everyone else has! I hear some of the best episodes come early on, like Etude in Black - which I'm watching rn! I'm usually known for being really late to trends and shows, but I can't wait to dive into this one!
