🚨🚨CASTING NEWS🚨🚨
Greame McKnight has been cast as 'Paxter Strong' in House of the Dragon season 2.
Tumblr media
There is no character named Paxter Strong in George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, so he’s rather a show invention. Or perhaps more likely one of Simon Strong‘s (Simon Russell Beale) grandsons, who were never given names in the books. Thus, half an invention, half based on the books.
He will be Alys Rivers, Larys Strong and the late Harwin Strong's cousin.

The following approaches can help reduce the risks associated with pre-existing medical diseases on heart bypass surgery:
Collaborative Healthcare Approach: Addressing pre-existing medical conditions post bypass surgery demands teamwork among different medical specialties. Cardiologists, anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, and geriatric experts collaborate to enhance patients' overall well-being and minimize surgical risks.
Thorough Preoperative Evaluation: A comprehensive preoperative assessment involves reviewing a patient's medical history, conducting thorough physical examinations, and performing relevant diagnostic tests. This evaluation guides surgical planning and helps anticipate potential difficulties.
Personalized Risk Assessment: Segmenting patients based on their individual risk profiles enables tailored treatment strategies. High-risk patients might benefit from alternative grafting methods, minimally invasive procedures, and focused attention on intraoperative hemodynamics.
Medication Considerations: Deliberate management of medications is crucial. Drugs affecting blood pressure, blood sugar, and electrolyte balance need careful oversight to ensure stable perioperative conditions.
Real-time Intraoperative Observation: Advanced monitoring techniques, like transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), allow continuous assessment of heart function and graft viability during surgery. Continuous monitoring of blood pressure, oxygen levels, and other vital parameters guarantees prompt action if complications arise.
Careful Postoperative Management: The immediate postoperative phase requires vigilant care, including precise monitoring of vital signs, fluid equilibrium, and organ functionality. Prompt mobilization, effective pain control, and rehabilitation significantly contribute to a smooth recovery process.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions and are recommended a heart bypass surgery, it is best to undergo the procedure under an experienced healthcare team in a well-equipped hospital to reduce your chances of developing complications after the bypass surgery. Apollo Hospitals Greams Road Chennai is one such hospital where you can find the best healthcare facilities to increase your chances of a successful surgery and reduce your risk of developing complications.
The cost of heart bypass surgery in Chennai will generally be more in cases of patients having pre-existing medical conditions.

The Water Hole
by Greame Base
I had The Eleventh Hour when I was little and know about Animalia which is extraordinary, so the thought of opening up a new Greame Base book is exciting.
The Water Hole did not disappoint. There is a story in the borders, it's part counting book, story book, picture book, and if you've read some of our other reviews, you'll know we love animal sounds in stories.
Illustrations are impeccably detailed that just exploring each page is an adventure. It's definitely a great investment for anybody's library.

For some reason I love seeing old dnf fics out in the wild. They're always based on a weird version of Dream and George from before they'd quite figured out who they wanted to be online. They usually have the ship name in the title and are also tagged "gream." They're like relics.

This one was harder for me to catch, but here’s the translation:
Q: Church laws changed so that people who committed suicide didn't go to Hell (I don't know what year), so the Gr[i]m Reapers just have to wait until the Vatican changed the law. So all the Grim Reapers are Christian. Question for Undertaker, do you think Victoria will go to Hell? Do you think Claudia is in Hell? Undertaker, I'm sorry, but your actions say you're going to Hell, but you'll be with Claudia, so it's worth it.
Do beliefs make the reaper?
A: You are making a huge assumption about grim reapers always being Christians. Numerous cultures have folklore about grim reapers that predate the invasion (because it’s invasion) of Christianity. In the Kuroverse, becoming a grim reaper is the punishment/chance of salvation for suicide, but is that regardless of one’s personal religious beliefs? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Sascha talks about suicide being the punishable act but says nothing about religion. Sebastian says “god of this world” but doesn’t specify the religion. Our earl wonders how “god” (the statue in the church) can peacefully smile upon heinous acts of abuse and rape. I mean, how can demons be summoned inside a church? Even abandoned churches are supposed to be on hallowed ground. This could be one of those situations where “the god of this world” isn’t the benevolent, loving entity being marketed to us in the New Testament. The god of the Old Testament is full of wrath and jealousy. To the Jews (and some other cultures), the only “hell” is on Earth, in the living human realm. But Christians aren’t the only ones with a concept of a physical Hell, with a realm of its own, either.
In the Kuroverse, it could be that the realm of the Afterlife has several sections, like Heaven, Hell, Limbo, an Underworld (that isn’t good or bad), and so on. The god of the Kuroverse might accept various forms of worship, so then the Afterlife might accommodate various beliefs, as well. You might get what you get, specifically based on your beliefs and how closely you followed the tenets of your beliefs. I’d say the majority of reapers are Christians who committed suicide, but there might be others who became reapers for other reasons, based upon their beliefs and where they had once lived as humans.
I’m not sure what gets you a one-way trip to Hell or a trip to Heaven, let alone how many versions of Heaven and Hell there are supposed to be. The reaper realm sounds like a Limbo of sorts, where you have a chance to right your wrongs, giving you a chance of salvation before you get plunged into the pits of Hell. More like it’s one of myriad Limbos, with each one “catering” to a particular type of wrong that needs to be righted.
So, I have no idea where Victoria will go and no idea where Claudia/Cloudia went, since we really don’t know all the criteria. Nor do we know all of their potential sins.
I’d hate to think Undertaker would end up in Hell and find out that’s where Claudia/Cloudia ended up, too. If they were both there, do you think they would actually be allowed to enjoy each other’s company? I doubt it. 🤔
I’m hoping Undertaker finds “salvation” (for whatever it’s worth) before his reaper existence ends. He’s got a chance, despite deserting his post. Even despite all he’s done since then! Again, this really depends on the true criteria, and Yana-san has so far kept that a secret. We know what certain cultures expect, but we don’t know the absolutes of their universe.
We need more information. But it doesn’t make sense to send Christian-based suicide-created reapers to collect the souls of individuals who don’t believe in Christ, nor does it make much sense to turn suicides into reapers if they were raised without the idea that suicide is a sin. And we saw Grelle collect the soul of Agni, a devout Hindu who also treats Soma as a personal god. I like to think of the truth about reapers, angels, demons, and gods as existing a bit outside any human concept of religion. Or it encompasses all religions and beyond. Humans are not expected to comprehend the true natures of these supernatural or preternatural beings. They are unknowable to mere mortals. And we don’t know their endgames, we just know what we’ve been taught to believe… which largely depends on where we grew up.
Which might be the true importance of reapers having different branches — the importance of international borders — and why it bothers William so much that they have to travel across those borders to deal with Undertaker.
ETA: Yana-san once said that she sees demons as inter-dimensional beings from another world, like aliens. And the xenomorph in ch5 was a nod to that. Angels could be something similar, and the gods could be another alien race. Only Yana-san knows… for now.

I blame @baka-monarch for this. They are a great person, but they feed me ideas for angst. Fortunately, this is somewhat fluffy! Ghostbur gets visited by Phantommy/Ghostinnit and a Ghost Dream. Ghost Dream breaks them all out of the station. This does take place in the “Alternate Times AU”, so Ghost Dream is pretty OOC. XD
And once again, Dream’s appearance is based off @winifreyd‘s White Enderman Dream design. If you can’t tell, I really love that design.
Ghostbur stared. Fear, anger, sadness... so many emotions felt just by looking at one person. One person who showed up out of nowhere, but was the reason he was here. One person who hadn't even noticed him yet, curled up behind a bench.
They walked, nails clicking against the tiles of the station. They looked... calm? "Hello~? Anyone here~?" His voice echoed down the line, bouncing off every hard surface and back to him in a mocking fashion.
Then a train came by.
Loud and hissing, flying past the station at such speed. Ghostbur watched as the man that had dragged him here yelped, tail shooting up and nails skitting on the tiles as his legs tried to find traction to get away from the noise.
Only to end up hovering right above Ghostbur's hiding spot.
The two stared at each other in horror.
Wait...
"Dream...?"
The other didn't respond, backing away, looking more like a cat than a person.
"How did you end up here?! What even are you wearing?!"
"I could ask you the same! What did you do to me?! I thought we were friends?!" Ghostbur felt his eyes burning, he grabbed some blue, painting it along the walls. He made another sheep. Another friend.
Dream watched him, ears perked, red eyes wide.
"Dream? What's going on?"
Both men jumped at the new voice. Ghostbur stared in horror at Tommy.
"Gh... Ghostbur?"
No... Tommy had died?! Why had Tommy died?! When had Tommy died?! Why was he-
"Ghostbur! I'm so happy to see you! You have no idea how scared I was!" Tommy hugged Ghostbur, gripping him tightly, as if he would fade away. "Oh man! This is great! We can all hang out now! This is going to be great!" Tommy looked up to Ghostbur, excited, it was now Ghostbur noticed Tommy's eyes.
They were yellow, not blue.
"Tommy, why are your eyes-"
"He's a ghost. Phantommy, if you will. Ghostinnit. Something like that." Dream stated, standing up on his two legs again. How did Dream know that?
"Did you-"
"Not me, personally." Dream stated. "I'm from... far away. A version of me did kill him, at some point though."
"You can trust him Ghostbur." Tommy- Phantommy- stated, rubbing away tears, and smiling. "This dork is so fluffy, his idea of purgatory or the afterlife is hanging out with his friends in the wilderness. He couldn't hurt a fly if he tried."
Ghostbur stared at Dream. Ghost Dream? Gream? What even were they supposed to call him? Either way, Ghost Dream seemed... uneasy, rubbing his arm and looking at the floor. "Uh-huh." Gostbur looked back to Phantommy, smiling. "Well, I suppose if you trust him, I'll trust him!"
Ghost Dream visibly relaxed. "Alright, so... do you want to get out of here Ghostbur?"
That got the two other ghost's attention.
"Get out?"
"How would that happen?"
Ghost Dream smiled, looking to the tracks. He walked towards them, looking down one tunnel, then to the other end. Dream smiled, sticking an arm out and giving a wave.
The train screeched to a halt, doors flying open.
"All aboard!"

Chennai-based restobar aims to tell the ‘Same Old Story’ with a pan-Asian plot twist
Dim lights, leather couches, shiny surfaces, thumping music, a well-lit bar and familiar faces — these are the markers of most of Chennai’s pubs. While some places strive to differentiate themselves from others, Same Old Story (SOS) on Greams road, which was launched late last year, sees merit in monotony. “When the days are good, we celebrate with the same group of friends and when it has been a…

Hey, more Gream (Ghost Dream)! Told You I’m not dead! Trigger warning for: Mentioned injuries, trauma response, and arguing (parent/child). Read at your own risk!
Gream hopped about, playing with the little piglin girl. He had decided to try and spend more time with Michelle, since she was technically his sister, Puffy being parent to both of them. He laughed as Michelle finally tackled him, bringing him to the ground. He ruffled her hair, or what little fuzz there was, as she clambered off him to play again. He waved her off, having grown tired. Why did little kids have to have so much energy?
The door swung open, a tan and grey person stepping in.
"Bro! Bro two! Shark Brother!"
Gream locked eyes with a man who looked more totem than human, head shrouded in a hood that looked like a shark's mouth. "Oh. Who're you?" A trident slammed into the wooden floor right beside Gream, a strangled yell coming from his throat. "PUFFY!" Gream half-stumbled-half-ran for the door, desperate to get away.
A grey-tan arm slammed into Gream's stomach, knocking the wind from him and making him fall back to the ground. Gream stared up in horror, shuffling away from the stranger. "who... Who are you?! Why do you hate me?!"
Michelle ran between the two men, holding her arms out. "Stop! He's our brother! Duckling brother!"
"Michelle, move, that man is a danger to-"
"Foolish?"
All three people looked to the door, finding none other than Puffy standing there, face contorted in confusion as she stared at the totem-shark-guy. "Son, what are you-"
Gream used the moment of confusion to run and duck behind his mom. She was his mom. Michelle stayed where she was, but lowered her arms. Puffy swung her head around frantically, curious why Gream was so desperate to hide-
Oh. Right. She forgot to tell Foolish.
Puffy looked to her son, a sheepish smile coming to her face as she laughed nervously. Foolish looked like he was about to have a hear attack from how close Gream was to her. "Sorry. I... I have no idea where you moved to, so I couldn't tell you. This is Gream-"
"You mean Dream?"
"No, I mean Gream. He's... you're brother." another nervous laugh. "I'll... I... Gream sweetie," She turned, cupping his face in her hands; "Why don't you go and collect some spruce logs, hm? We can finish up working on that table!" Gream perked up, nodding excitedly as he grabbed a stone axe and ran off to start cutting down trees. Puffy sighed, turning back to Foolish.
Who looked like he had just seen a pig fly.
"Foolish, I know you have a lot of questions-"
"No! Dad, you can't just adopt someone like him!" Foolish hissed, finally snapping out of his daze. He was waving around his trident like it was an extension of his arm and not a weapon. "He killed Tommy! He exiled Tommy! He manipulated Tubbo! There's a reason he was locked in prison-" "Foolish he died in there!" The small house fell silent, Puffy just barely holding back from crying. Why, why, why did it still hurt to say? She should be happy, not sad, she had her duckling back. No, she couldn't go into her emotions at the moment, she had to stop her son from killing her duckling, or worse, allow her duckling to get thrown back into the prison. "Gream isn't just a cover name, it's short for Ghost Dream. He likes it because it sounds like "green". He..." She covered her mouth, remembering the first time she saw Gream. It was like her first meeting of Dream all over again; her being afraid only to realize he wasn't a threat to her. "He's really different... From Dream, that is. He's... He's so sweet... He's building a table for some reason so he can play with Michael and Michelle and the chicken gets some rest. Dream is dead... gone, like Wilbur was... Like Ghostbur is."
Foolish stared at her. He couldn't believe this. His dad was taking pity on the greatest enemy of the SMP. And why? Because he had died and came back as a ghost? No, Foolish wasn't about to be fooled by this... monster.
"Puffy, dad, I get you care, I really do; but how do you know it's not a trick? How do you know he really forgot just like Ghostbur? What proof do you have!?" Foolish stalked toward his dad, growing physically as his anger grew. "You have no proof! Other than what he says, which, by the way, is as good as dirt! God, Puffy, and you let him stay here, alone! With Michelle!"
"Foolish, please, just trust-"
"I do trust you! It's him I don't trust!" Foolish barely fit in the house now, curling around Puffy, looming over her as his anger continued to grow.
And right at that point, Gream walked back in.
"Hey, Puffy-" The ghost fell silent, eyes trained on the giant totem god now looming dangerously over him and his mom. "What..." Gream took a step back, cowering away. He wasn't small, right? No, if he was Puffy would be much bigger than him. What was going on then? Was this guy with that man? Why were they brothers? Was Puffy with that man?!
"Gream, Gream! Listen, you need to calm down, okay? Foolish is just... surprised! Yeah, surprised!" She smiled, she couldn't let him start dripping acid, Foolish would-
"Dad, why are your hands bandaged?"
Shit.
Foolish had finally noticed the bandages around her hands and hooves. They were just there to keep a healing salve in place. "It's..." She let out a sigh, turning away from Gream, facing Foolish with a stern look; "It's not your concern Foolish. Now, please, leave my house. Gream has not committed any crime-"
"Yes he-"
"You will let your father finish talking." She raised her voice, not quite yelling, but just enough to get across the point that she was done with this argument. "Gream has not committed any crime, and I will not allow you to harm him or drag him back to the- back there. This conversation is over now. You are to leave Gream alone. Do I make myself clear?"
Foolish looked past her, glaring at the ghost; "Crystal." he hissed through grit teeth. He forced himself to shrink back down to a more normal size, storming out of the house.
Puffy sighed, shaking her head before hiding her face in her hands. This wasn't how she had wanted to break the news to Foolish. She let out a loud groan, dragging her hands down her face. She turned back to Gream, who looked about ready to bolt out of there. "Gream, it's okay now. Foolish-"
"Are you working with him?"
Puffy stared, confused for several minutes before she finally remembered. "No! I'm not working with that... with the man. I would never work with someone like that sweetie." She reached for him, stopping as he flinched back, his eyes darting from her face to her hand, the faint green glow giving away the movement behind his mask. She never really knew how expressive he had been. "I promise Gream. Please..."
He fidgeted, rubbing his arms as he stood away from her. "I want to, it's just... Is Foolish... is he  working with him? How did you know... How did you know?"
Puffy fell silent. She almost let the prison slip, and in order to protect Gream a different truth came forward: She knew where he was when he was "missing". She messed up. "I... Well you see... Oh, how do I put this?" Puffy paced, rubbing the base of her horns as she tried to think of how to phrase this. She sucked in a breath through her teeth, finally stopping to face Gream "I... knew where you were, and... The man... they had a lot of proof saying you should stay there... and I... I believed them over you." She bit the nail on her thumb, doing her best to think about how else to make it believable. "Foolish... I'm not sure what Foolish is doing. Last time I saw him, he was living alone in his summer home. He might be with... that man." She watched Gream closely, guilt growing as his posture showed his horror; acid slowly pooling underneath his shoes as the words finally sunk in. "I'm sorry, I should have told you! I didn't know... I'm really, really sorry Gream! I just found out today he might-"
Gream ran. She had an idea where he was going. He was going back to the mansion or to the community house. One was preferred over the other. She would go after him, but right now, she had to clean up some acid and give Michelle food. Today was not going as she had hoped.
