Welcome to the mysterious and magical land of Hatchetfield, where fantastical creatures coexist with humans, even if not harmoniously.

This is an ask blog for a Nerdy Prudes Must Die Gorgon AU. Before anything else, lets dive into the main characters.

The Gorgons

Stephanie Lauter - Transfemme, bisexual, demigod queen. After disobeying her Godly Father during his trails to make her powerful he curses her to be a gorgon. Her snakes are Brazilian Rainbow Boas.

Ruth Fleming - Transfemme bisexual. Her parents had disrespected a god who cursed their unborn child, after being born a gorgon they abandoned her and she was raised by satyrs. She was all alone until she found Steph and Grace. Her snakes are Axanthic conda morph Hognoses.

Grace Chasity - Cis, lesbian. She was a priestess to a virgin goddess and while trying to figure out her sexuality she lost her virginity to a man inside the goddesses temple, getting her cursed as a gorgon and banished. Her snakes are Diamondback Rattlesnakes.

Richard Lipschitz - Transmasc and aroace. He was being forced into a marriage he didn't want and he begged for the gods to save him, one of them took pity on the boy and "cursed" him as a gorgon, being the only gorgon of the group who was happy about the situation. His snakes are Blue Eyed Leucistic Ball Pythons.

The Humans

Maxwell Jägerman - Cis, pansexual, demigod. While making his name as a hero he was tasked by Ruth's parents to kill their wicked monster of a son, but when he arrived all he found was a beautiful woman.

Peter Spankoffski - Transmasc and bisexual. Pete was ordered to get snake venom from a gorgon in order to save his brother Ted from being wrongfully imprisoned, only to meet and fall in love with Steph.

Oooooh buddy do I have EXTENSIVE headcanons for you! I’ll just do some of mine for NPMD, but I also have extensive ones for TGWDLM, Black Friday, and the Nightmare Time characters! If anyone would be interested in those I’d be super happy to share em :>

Here’s just a few random ones I have:

Steph has ADHD and dyscalculia and/or dyslexia, which makes learning in a traditional environment really difficult for her. She drinks copious amounts of caffeine to self medicate, because she’s undiagnosed and can’t get meds.

Pete is a type 1 diabetic, and struggles extremely with hypoglycemia. He keeps sweets on him full time to combat this, and so does Steph just in case he needs it. He also hates changing his dexcom and used to have to be held down by Ted while having it changed as a kid.

Ruth had a very intense Hamilton phase, and can still rap along to 90% of the musical flawlessly. She also wrote copious amounts of fanfic about it as well (she was a notorious Thomas Jefferson x Alexander Hamilton shipper).

Richie is THE BIGGEST tumblr kid. He harrassed Ruth with the Miku Binder Thomas Jefferson art, and has drawn so much cursed fanart to plague her with. He’s also a great artist and does art commissions online as a side gig to fuel his anime figurine collection.

Grace is actually very big into sustainability. That’s why she rides her bike everywhere. She always tries to shop local, reuse anything and everything, recycles what she can, uses reusable bags and water bottles, etc. She frequents the farmer’s market in the spring, summer, and fall and buys her mom fresh flowers once a week.

Max would rather die than admit this to anyone, but he actually is really into photography. He has a polaroid camera he keeps hidden and periodically he goes out by himself and takes pictures with it. If it wasn’t for the image he’s had crafted for himself, he’d probably pursue it as a career.

Back to the NPMD x Monster High AU, a couple more things:

I would like to rescind my Werecat Brenda in favor of Nighthawk Harpy Brenda. Yes, I know I made Kyle a werewolf to parallel Brenda being a werecat but I also have a better offer for Kyle too: Yeti, which is why he still holds a grudge against Max for wrecking his dad’s ski-doo.

I have so many thoughts on Vampire Grace. She was born a normie and is a recently turned vampire (maybe even a vampire hunter that failed on an outing and was turned by her prey). She’s having trouble coping with her religion now that she’s a monster and constantly wears turtlenecks like the one she wears in Perky’s Buds to cover up her bite marks. She tried still wearing her cross necklace as a show of rejecting this new form, trying to embrace the pain of having the cross so close because she thought that loving Jesus even when she’s a form of half-demon would make herself better than other Christians, but it hurt way too badly for her to handle so now she just says she wears it underneath her sweater. Jason was born a vampire and wants to help her through her dysphoria but Grace won’t accept anyone treating her like she’s a vampire (even though she is). She does like the part about eating flesh and drinking blood- it’s what Jesus says to do with himself, so in a way, she’s making everyone she eats a little more Christ-like. That’s her thought process, at least. She also still pretends to be human around her parents and normie best friend Gabe. Gabe may or may not know that she’s a vampire though and wants to seduce her so she can turn him too.

In High School is Killing Me, the lyric is now changed to “Fuck you, biteology.”

Max’s Jekyll form is human (Max), but his Hyde form looks like his ghost (The Jagerman).

Stachie is soooo canon because Richie loves swimming but as a werecat Stacy refuses to get in the water and they feel like their romance is especially forbidden because of it. If Richie didn’t love the water so much, he’d wish he was a werecat too because he also wants to be a pretty little kitty meow meow

Ethan, Lex, and Hannah also went there obviously and Ethan was a ghost á la Jonny Spirit and Lex and Hannah are both spider people. You know tf why lol

Ruth is a lot like Frankie Stein in that she flirts with a lot of people but they Do. Not. Flirt. Back. Rather than solid stripes, her sweater looks more like lightning bolts and the mushroom design is a little creepier than just an Amanita.

A lot of the smoke club are also nighthawk harpies (because they like eating the weed) (including Deb) and so a lot of people assume Brenda is also in the smoke club. She isn’t. Monster high typical speciesism mixed with Hatchetfield High typical bullying regardless of social hierarchy.

The Woodwards are flytraps and that’s why Alice doesn’t smoke- plants don’t do that to other plants. This is often a point of contention between Deb and Alice even though they try to pretend it isn’t an issue

Steph’s secretly embarrassed about her decay so she always makes sure her wraps are FRESH, but the rest of her outfit is always her jagged hand-cut crop tops and ripped jeans. Her decay spread to her scalp and forehead and everyone knows better than to say something about the wraps on her forehead or how she always wears a beanie but Pete accidentally tells her he thinks it makes her look even cooler. Swooning ensues because nobody dares address her flaws, much less say she’s cooler for having them.

Steph secretly wishes Pete had a corporeal form because her love language is physical touch and she’s sad she’ll never be able to hold him. (Kind of like how Cleo is sad she’ll never get to look Deuce in the eyes).

Sophia/Spitfire as a background character fire elemental is a MUST.

The janitor is a crazy man who lives in the catacombs under the school and is possessed by what the student body can only assume is a goat demon and Peter Geist feels weirdly like he knows him.

Pete has also died recently as one of The Jagerman’s attacks when he was out of control, and he’s new to the school along with Grace. He’s stuck in this dorky outfit he wore so he wouldn’t get bullied and can never change clothes, but at least he’s impossible to punch unless if another spirit tried to attack him. As opposed to Grace in life, he was very interested in the supernatural (one of his special interests) so he knows quite a bit about monster types but is always hungry to learn more about the new world he found himself un-living in

ruth is dating everyone. sorry about it they just are. and she is SO happy about it. her happiest moments are when they’re all on the couch together in some weird bear pile watching trashy TV, or in the car all squished together singing along to the radio. i also 100% believe ruth is the one who introduced the idea in the first place.

pete is dating steph, richie, and ruth. they’re constantly ganging up on him with affectionate teasing, but gush about how much they adore him to eachother. i also think pete prefers to have one-on-one time with everyone rather than always being altogether. + them and grace have more of a queerplatonic relationship, although she accompanies him on dates with steph frequently because….

steph is dating pete, grace, and ruth. they really like having group dates, experimenting with the different chemistry and affection between multiple pairings. shes such a variety is the spice of life girly. like, study dates with pete & grace vs the movies with ruth & pete vs ice cream with grace & ruth are all different, equally fulfilling feelings of love for her. and richie is just their bro honestly they are so platonic to me. there is not any less love there i just think they are the bestest buddies who share a boyfriend and girlfriends.

speaking of, richie is dating ruth, pete, and grace. OKAY HEAR ME OUT I KNOW RICHIE X GRACE IS A LITTLE UNUSUAL. BUT. i think richie likes grace’s intensity & passion and grace likes richie’s creativity and- let’s be real- submissive nature. at first they were not into eachother at all, no interest either way. but, as the group as a whole spent more time together, they found it easy to talk to one another, both blunt and a little awkward. plus come on the bible sounds like an insane anime story sometimes doesn’t it? ANYWAYS! him ruth and pete are kind of inseparable and he spends time w grace separately. i see it clearly.

finally, grace is dating steph, ruth, and richie. not surprisingly, it took some convincing to get her on board. not as much as you’d expect though. grace had been plagued by adoring thoughts about steph for a while, and felt extremely guilty about it since she was dating pete. when the idea was brought up, grace’s instinct was to shut it down, call it hedonistic or dirty. then as ruth explained further, the different types of love and ways to experience it in polyamorous relationships, something clicked for her. realizing how happy each of these people made her, how loved she felt by them. so, she went along with it. of course, it still took her a while to participate, she had to observe first. grace meticulously planned for a sit down with steph, to have a very serious conversation about her feelings. but before she built up the courage, steph casually asked her to go out to dinner. telling her to wear something nice with a flirty smile, she left grace a short-circuiting mess.

but, thanks to the group’s support and love as a whole, she’s become more comfortable with a wide spectrum of her emotions, attractions, and relationships. all of them have. they are good for eachother. really good.

General Gorgon Lore!

I thought it was best if I released some general lore about the gorgons in our au before we started writing anything! -Mod Muse🍓

All gorgons in this au are the result of divine intervention. This includes Ruth who, despite being born a gorgon, was only born that way due to a curse.

(Obviously) Anyone who looks a gorgon in the eye will turn to stone. However, this can be undone with a few drops of gorgon blood.

This has made gorgon blood (along with other body parts) very valuable to humans.

Some other desired gorgon items are venom and fangs.

Gorgon venom, when diluted with water, can cure a myriad of illnesses no matter how severe. But more importantly, when applied to the eyes, it makes the user immune to a gorgon's stare.

However, it is a rare commodity because, unbeknownst to humans, gorgons release their venom by choice. You can not force it out of them. Even killing them to retrieve the venom won't work because its effects become null upon death.

Gorgons shed their fangs several times in their lifetime. These fangs are worth a fortune due to their uses in medicine.

Gorgons all have a real life snake they correspond to. They take traits from their chosen snake, such as: strength, habitat, personality, and scale pattern.

Their hair is also made up of miniature versions of said snakes.

If a gorgon's respective snake is venomous, their hair snakes will also be venomous. Gorgons themselves are venomous regardless, but their venom is very different from their snakes venom.

If their snake is a constrictor, the gorgon in question will be incredible strong and fiercely cuddly.

Gorgons are very independent and prefer to spend their time alone.

They're also territorial and will hiss if another gorgon encroaches too close to their home. (Our gorgons are an exception to this rule, living close together for protection and friendship).

The one exception to this is a gorgon's mate. They are fiercely protective of their mates and do not like leaving their sides.

In gorgon culture, a respective mate is given a shed fang as a gesture of romance. Mates will wear said fangs as jewelry to show their taken.

Gorgons can only reproduce with humans. It was a cruel joke on the gods part that they can only reproduce with beings they can't look at.

Gorgons have several physical snake attributes, including but not limited to: fangs, slitted eyes, and scaley patches on their foreheads, arms, and shoulders.

They can also have attributes associated with their respective associated snake. For example, if the associated snake was a rattle snake, the gorgon would have rattles in their hair.

Gorgons all worship Webby, goddess of outcasts. She gave them sanctuary when the world turned them away.

The Isle of Gorgons is famous in human society for its high concentration of gorgons. Most people will not go anywhere near the island for fear of being turned to stone.

Those who seek out the island are often called Statues In Training for the belief that they won't return home.

nerdycules adorable!! one of my headcanons for them is that every other weekend they crash at one of their places for movie night (they rarely go to graces house though, since she makes them watch bruce almighty all of the time)

Steph makes them watch fear street (she talks to them about it all the time so they decide to give it a chance

Ruth makes them watch empire strikes back, and richie is arguing about how attack on titans obviously better (pete and grace are annoyed while steph watches them more than the movie itself 🙏)

i think Richie would like Spirited Away!! he has paul watch it all the time so he has to spread the propaganda lol (ruth is swooning over lin the entire movie, partly bc she thinks she’s hot and partly to get back at richie)

finally is pete, i think he’d make them watch honey i shrunk the kids (ted introduced to him when he was a kid and hes been a lover of cult classics since)
