Welcome to the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger.
#Fear and Hunger#D'arce Cataliss#Cahara#Ragnvaldr#Enki Ankarian#Unlike Dungeon Meshi - I cannot in good faith recommend this game to a broad audience.#My background with F&H goes as follows: I am hanging out with a friend. He says âhey try this game I've been playing.â I say âOkay!â#I have never heard of this game. I pick the mercenary. I go through 5 min of character history and background. I am mauled to death by dogs#It took me 4 resets to even get in the dungeon. But I finally get there. I am caught by a guard. He cuts off all but one of my limbs#I am forced to crawl around in a blood and corpse pit until the game tells me 'give up idiot'.#I reset. I am mauled by dogs again. I realize this is not for me but I am intrigued enough to go home and watch some playthroughs#And WOW what an interesting game it is! I really do appreciate games that blend their design philosophy with the theme it wants to set#This is a game about fear and hunger. And persevering. And penis (my god is there a lot of penis)#I recommend this to people who like extremely challenging games and can handle the many *content warnings* within this series#If the idea of Bloodborne/eldenring and undertale having a little RPG maker baby sounds appealing to you - give it a shot#It's made by ONE GUY and it's a great horror game. I am just really bad at it.#My friends just enjoy putting me in situations where I scream and yell. We don't talk about the corn mazes. Or the other horror game nights#Apparently I'm funny when I'm Scared!#As people who follow me on twitter might know; I am deep in the pits of this series right now. I will be back with more art.

You know what I love about this show so much?
The kindness. The understanding. The redemption.
And that's in the setting of fucking Hell. The irony.
The characters are deeply flawed. They make a lot of mistakes. They fuck up even trying to fix things.
But they are trying. They have a lot of virtues, too, even though they don't see them themselves. They slowly but surely process their problems. They work around their trauma and the conditions they were raised in, deeply affected by it, hurting but still powering through, learning, and developing.
Although we are far from the end of these characters' journey, the SpindleHorse team does an amazing job of making these characters sympathetic, believable, and real. They give you the information and the opportunity to understand how complicated things are, how both sides of the conflict can be understood and blamed at the same time.
And the main thing? The forgiveness and redemption. You want these characters to do better, to be better, of course. But you also want them to be loved, despite the fact that what they did was obviously wrong.
You, as the viewer, already forgive them, and you just want them to forgive themselves. To allow themselves to be loved.
When I watched the show and saw them making the same mistakes I did, some horrible things I wouldnât forgive myself for and struggled with for years, I suddenly understood the struggle. I empathized with them. I wanted to give them a hug. I wanted to comfort them and promise that things would get better and encourage them to give it one more try, one more talk. I wanted to scold them for self-loathing because I know all too well the kinds of dark places it can lead you to sometimes.
And then the thought comes to mind, "Can I afford a bit of this empathy for myself too? Just allow myself to live with the fuckup and allow myself to be human?"
It didn't fix me. But it eased my turmoil and taught me to understand it better. It taught me some empathy, too, and I thought I was the one with the emotional ingelligence of a nightstand. Well, I still kinda am, but at least I learned to listen to people sometimes.
I just want to thank the whole team who worked on Helluva Boss for all the self-reflections I experienced with their creation.
Thank you.
#I think a lot of characters could be placed in there#but you know I mainly refer to our favorite disasters stolitz currently are#talking about Stolas and Blitz specifically#I see Blitz and how he self-sabotages and hates himself#I see Stolas and how he struggles with his legacy as a privileged person and as an abuse survivor#and I love how deep and complicated they are#because I also see protective and caring Blitz#I also see gentle and kind Stolas#they both have so much good in them#and bad too#but the redemption is possible and they deserve it#and I love the series for demonstrating that they deserve love despite everything#and I know there are plenty of fans hating on Blitz or Stolas or anyone else but I don't think they really get the idea creators had#so I don't take them into account#akira's philosophical blabbering#helluva boss#kinda personal#idk even know which tags to add here#stolitz#stolas#blitzĂž

smth smth about 'the thing that the character did that you thought was rly rly funny in the moment is actually linked to a terrible trauma that lies within said character.' or wahtever.
#jrwi show#jrwi fanart#jrwi riptide#gillion tidestrider#made this within a short span of wahtever bc i gotta go up to the mountains for my stupid gay job tonight n im trying#nnot to frrRREAAAK THE FUCK OUUTTTTTTi dont wanna work but. get that bread we fuckin shall i guess#ONWARDS TO THE FISH TORMENT!! sometimes flowers feel pain when you trim them before their blossoming. atleast i imagine so#i used to draw gillion with loooong hair tied into a big ol braid. and then it was confirmed that he had short hair when he was little.#AT FIRST I WAS SAD. but then i realized the duality of. when they were little. gill had short hair. edyn had long hair.#AND NOW THEYRE OLDER. and gillion has long hair. and edyn has short hair#both mirroring eachother. looking up to eachother. subconsciously or not. they most certainly care. and most certainly miss eachother.#GILLION ALWAYS LOVED HOW LONG HAIR LOOKs. atleast i imagine so. he hasnt cut it since he left the undersea. sure he wanted to go back home#but even at the very start. he knew he was free in some way now. free to grow out his hair. an adventure would await him before he returns.#he knew it would be a while. so he cant let this go. he cant let this sought-after hair-length get cut away from him again#not yet. not yet. i like to think he loved music too. I SAW SOMETHING INTERESTING A BIT AGO#i see alot of ppl commenting on my baby gill comics like;'i wouldFIGHT this teacher i wanna KILL EM i want them DESTROYED#all very good and nice sentiments! i LOVE the energy here! and it would be nice. to have that catharsis#but the story of young tidestrider is not a story of catharsis. it is a story of agony and being so so small and so special and also so dum#and sucking so bad. and just being a kid and doing the things that a little kid does and so many tired tired people reacting badly to it#youre supposed to be the hero that will save us. our world hangs in the balance and you are the one who tips the scales.#YOU are supposed to SAVE US!! you NEED to SAVE US! CAN YOU PLEASE STOP SQUIRMING IN YOUR STUPID CHAIR!!#you'd think that young tidestrider ought to prevail. and be tucked someplace all safe and sound.#elders gone missing and rotting in a jail. their cultists nowhere around. but theres no happy endings. not here not now.#this tale is all sorrows n woes. you may dream that justice n peace win the day. but thats not how this story goes#BIG ideas for this lil baby gillion series. if anything i make ever gets disproven im killing myself in a well as to poison a water supply

Part One Here.
Part Two Here.
Inspired By:
Dark clouds filled the evening sky as a drizzle fell against your windshield. Your thoughts were adrift as you fought to make a proper decision. There were only two choices. Accept the offer and hope for a positive outcome, or leave immediately. The loud vibration of your phone halted your decision-making. Sucking in a shaky breath, you accepted the call. It was your best friend. The word hello barely left your lips as she began firing off questions.
âDid you make it to your destination safely? Are you sure itâs smart to be around him right now? Should you trust him?â
You cut your friend off.
âSis, calm down. Let me answer at least one of your questions.â
âSeriously though, Y/N. How did he find you?â
âHe didnât find me, per se. Weâre just in the same state, city, and establishment. Ironic as it may seem.â
âThatâs just a little too coincidental for my liking. Look, just be careful and keep your guard up dealing with him. Y/N, youâve got enough shit going on. Thereâs no need to fan the flames. Your situation is bad enough. Accept his offer but keep your head on a swivel. Now, take your ass inside that building. Call me once youâve settled for the night. Do you need money, sis?â
âHowâd you know Iâm sitting in the car? Yes, Iâm good on cash. I withdrew half of our joint account before I left town. I shouldâve emptied the account and made his damn pockets hurt.â
âItâs my job to know. Youâre my best friend. I agree you shouldâve drained that account, girl.â
You inhaled, attempting to calm your nerves, âalright. Iâm going in. Iâll call you later with an update. Love you, sis.â
Even after ending the call, you spent a few more minutes in the driver's seat of your vehicle.Â
Oh, fuck this. Let me just see where it goes. Itâs been years since Iâve been here. It wouldnât hurt to accept the help of a familiar face.
Exiting the car, you enabled the lock as you walked towards the luxurious hotel lobby. Halfway across the threshold, you felt his presence to your left.
âI was starting to think you had changed your mind. It was as if I could see the thoughts racing through your pretty little head from the lobby window, sweetheart. Iâm glad you decided to accept my assistance.â
âIâm not sure Iâve decided to do so. Listen, I appreciate the hotel recommendation, but donât you think itâs odd, maybe even inappropriate?â
âWhyâs that? Are you afraid that Iâll inform your husband of your whereabouts?â
âCut the shit. Why are you being so helpful? Whatâs the real motive here?â
âListen, believe it or not, weâre family. Just because youâre mad at Rio doesnât mean I should just leave you out here all alone. I donât plan on telling him I saw you. There are no plans to notify him of your location. Iâm securing a place for you to stay because I wouldnât feel right leaving you to sort everything out alone. I have no idea why youâve left my dumbass cousin. The fact that you packed your bags and just left suggests itâs serious. I wonât pry. Tell me or donât, but I will secure and pay for your entire stay here. No arguments.â
âIf Christopher finds out youâre helping me stay away from him, heâll explode. The two of you already have a strenuous relationship.â
âIf he finds out. Then heâll just have to get over it. I honestly donât give a damn, darlinâ.â
âWhat are you even doing in California, Nick?â
âIâm here on business.â
âWhat kind of business?â
âIâll answer that once you explain why you left your husband. What exactly did my cousin do, sweetheart?â
Rolling your eyes at Nick, you walked over to the hotel clerk. She greeted you with a warm welcome, offering you help. Giving her your last name, she informed you that you were staying in the penthouse. About to object and ask for something smaller and less expensive, Nick interjected.
âItâs already been taken care of, cousin.â
Your head snapped in his direction with an incredulous expression.
âAre you out of your mind? No, on second thought, you're not paying for my stay here. Iâm not letting you put me in a penthouse and allow people to think Iâm your whore. Do you have any idea how that will look, Nick? Are you crazy? You must want Christopher to kill both of us. No wonder you two donât get along. You love pushing his buttons. The whole damn familyâs crazy.â
âAre you finished with your little tirade?â
âI see that youâre also a sarcastic asshole like Christopher.â
âDid you miss the point where I had no intentions of Rio finding out? Just take the room, and enjoy the luxury. Iâm sure my cousin has been putting you up in the nicest of places since the day he laid eyes on you.â
âIâm starting to feel like youâre implying Iâm a gold digger. Tread lightly. Iâd hate to have to kick you in the nuts. Now do us both a solid and change the damn room. Be glad that Iâm accepting your help, to begin with.â
âI think itâs best if you know something. I'm just as pushy and controlling as your old man, sweetheart. We both know Iâm helping and paying, no matter what you say.â
âSwitch. The. Damn. Room,â you growled.
âFine. Jesus, youâre just as stubborn as your husband.â
âThat offer to kick you in the balls still stands. Please stop tempting me.â
âI have a business meeting here at the hotel. I made arrangements for my associate to stay here for a few days. Heâs a man of luxury. Iâll switch the rooms for the two of you.â
âYes, do that, Nick.â
âIâve got to admit I enjoy hearing you say my name.â
You had grown tired of his antics and landed a sharp jab on his chest.
âOne more inappropriate comment and Iâll leave to figure things out myself. I donât know what you think is happening between Christopher and me, but we are married.â
Not for long, but he doesnât need to know that.
âEven if I were single, I wouldnât give you a second glance, honey. Please do not fool yourself.â
âWhy is that? Am I not rough enough around the edges, like your hubby?â
âYou honestly want to know?â
Nick shrugged his shoulders as if to say, âsure, why not?â
âYouâre overly arrogant, and your sense of entitlement is ridiculous.â
He started to interject, but you pressed on.
âIâm no fool, Nick. Deep down inside, youâre hoping that somehow, some way, Rio finds out. I see you. Youâve been sparring with my husband his entire life. Youâve spent your life trying to prove that you are the bigger, better man than Rio. Whatâs the difference between you two? Nick, youâve spent your entire existence having everything handed to you. All while my husband did the heavy lifting, grunt work, and the bids. Or have you forgotten about that? Rio earned his empire. He got it out the mud. You just sat and watched, sticking your hand out to take a chunk when it was all said and done. While Rio can be arrogant, itâs warranted. He can talk his shit and back it up.â
Although Iâm pissed to the highest level and treading the waters of divorce, Iâll be damned if he sits here and insults everything Rio has worked hard to accomplish.
âDo not flatter yourself. Youâre nowhere near half the man my husband is.â
Even if he is a cheating ass bitch.
âSuch a beautiful, passionate rebuttal, and yet youâre here. With me, might I add, after walking out on mi primo. Letâs just call a truce. Iâll try not to flirt with you, but I wonât lie and say my cousin doesnât have good taste,â he teased.
I just insulted him, and heâs still thirsty. Lord, help me.
âFor the love of God, Nick!â
âOkay, Iâll back off. Now letâs get you settled into your room, shall we? Iâll accompany you back to your car. Carry your bags up to your room,â he responded, throwing his hands up in surrender.
With squared shoulders, you lifted your chin into the air.
âThat wonât be necessary. Donât you have a meeting to get to?â
âWhy do I feel youâre trying to get away from me? Are my good looks too much of a temptation for you?â
âBoy, stop! Donât nobody want your shallow, overconfident, big-headed ass.â
âYouâre so mean, mama.â
Did this motherfu-I know he didnât just say that! Now heâs pushing it!
Moving closer, you crowded his space. The smirk dancing along the corners of his lips proved he knew the nickname he used was out of line and disrespectful. You looked around. Making sure heâd be the only one to hear what you had to say. Through clenched teeth, your words dripped with venom.
âSo long as we both have breath in our bodies, donât you ever make the mistake of calling me that again. Please do not get it confused or twisted. Rio did not marry a weak bitch. Call me that again. Iâll do Rio a solid and spray you full of bullets myself.â
âAww, why not, sweetheart? Does it make you miss hubby?â
âKeep playing with me, Nick. It wonât be funny to you when I want to laugh too. Iâm over this conversation. Thank you for the room. Now, leave me alone. Go make yourself someone elseâs problem.â
âFine. Iâll come by and check on you later, prima.â
âNo, you will not. Goodbye, Nick.â
If Christopher finds out about this, he will lose the little sense he has left. Wait, why do I even care? Itâs fuck him from here on out.
âI Gave You More Than You Wanted. I Gave You More Than You Needed. So Tell Me, How Does It Feel To Lose The One You Believe In?â
-Chloë.
The suite turned out to be very spacious and elegant. Much better than the cramped room you had stayed in the night before. You trudge through the doorway of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. It hadnât taken long for you to unpack and settle in. Fresh out of a hot shower, you mope to the bed and fling yourself backward. Thoughts race through your head. You hadnât taken the time to soak in everything. You were too busy trying to run from the situation at hand. Yes, there had been many crying sessions and stewing in anger. Now that you were in another state and settled, it hit you.
Did I just walk away from everything Iâve known for the last four years? The one person I trusted with my heart. My soul. He ripped it out and stepped on it. The audacity. The unmitigated gall to play with my love and emotions. Did he? Rio did that shit, right? How can he possibly have a reasonable explanation?
âYou Never Miss A Good Thing âTil It Leaves You. And Finally, I Relaize That I Need You. I Want You Back. Baby Girl, I Need You Back. Gotta Have You Back, Babe.â
-Usher.
Just as the tears started to roll down your face, a call came through. You huffed, tapping the ignore button. Seconds later, it started again. The call went unanswered a second time, and a text came through.
Itâs me. Please answer your phone.
The phone lit up once more. With a heavy sigh, you accepted the call.
âWhat do you want, Mick? I donât want to talk to him, and he knows that.â
âSince you wonât communicate with him. Iâm in charge of finding out if youâre okay. Iâd personally like to know myself. You good boss lady?â
âMentally and emotionally, we both know the answer is no. Physically? Iâm breathing and somewhat eating. Thatâs the best I can give you. I appreciate you checking on me. As for your boss? He can go fuck himself. Goodbye, Mick.â
âHold up, boss lady. I need to see it for myself.â
Mick sent a FaceTime request. With an irritated sigh, you angle the camera so heâd only see your face and a white wall. You begrudgingly accepted the call.
âSee. Just fine.â
He frowned as he looked at your red puffy eyes. Mick could tell you hadnât been sleeping much.
âYes, Iâm aware my eyes are puffy. Iâll be fine. Bye, Mick.â
Mick was about to plead with you to come home, but his face vanished from the screen. Your eyes sparked with resentment and anger as Rio appeared.
âMamaâŠâ
âWhat part of I donât want to speak to you donât you comprehend,â you spat.
âCan you just fuckinâ listen to me?â
âYou suddenly have so much to say! Thatâs because you no longer have me sitting at home. Iâm no longer playing my role as your stupid little unsuspecting wife. No, not anymore. Stay the fuck away from me. Donât call, donât text me. Tell your boys to stop looking for me. There is nothing we need to discuss!â âOh, Iâma keep calling and texting. Please, believe me. Mama, I will find you. Youâre coming home; we gonâ work this shit out. Just let me explain everything. Youâll feel silly when itâs all said and done, darlinâ.â
âYou Didnât Say It, But You Said ItâŠâ
-Chloë.
âDid you fuck that bitch, Rio?â
He looked at you with anger written on his face as his jaw flexed.
âThatâs what the fuck I thought. Silence speaks volumes. Fuck out my face. Go find your whore and live a shitty life.â
âMa-.â
You ended the FaceTime, not giving him another moment of your time.
I'm Going Out Of My Mind, And I'm Running Out Of Time. Oh, I Just Wish I Could Find You, Girl.
-Usher.
Rio stood there, rage coursing through his body. He gripped the phone in his hand tightly, âFuck!â
âAnything I can do,â Mick questioned.
Rio took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. He handed Mick his phone.
âLetâs take a ride. Red better have a plan. If I donât get my wife back soon, itâs game over for her.â
âYou think sheâs the reason behind this?â
âIt doesnât appear that she knows whatâs going on. We both know that her innocent deer-in-headlights expression can sometimes be a facade.â
âYouâre right about that.â
âWe have to find her. I have to fix this. Real shit, man, I need her. I love that stubborn ass woman.â
âThen letâs handle business and get her back.â
âLoved You More Than Ever, More Than My Own Life. The Best Part Of Me I Gave You, And It Was Sacrificed.
-Beyoncé.
Still reeling from the conversation, you tossed your phone across the bed. Everything was just too much. You were overflowing with anger, sadness, and grief. The betrayal of it all had you drowning. A sorrowful cry spilled from your lips as you curled into a ball. You remained in that position, cradling your face until sleep consumed you.
Hours later, your eyes fluttered open. The sun had set, and your room darkened from nightfall. Your feet flung off the side of the bed as a headache throbbed in your temples. The rumbles coming from your stomach echoed throughout the room.
I havenât had shit since this morning. This stupid ass man got me going through it. I need a damn drink.
You called the front desk to ask if room service was still available. To your surprise, the clerk recommended the hotel restaurant. She explained that both tables and bar space were available. You thanked her for the recommendation as you dug through your wardrobe.
Let me at least look presentable. I canât be walking around this nice hotel looking bummy. If I play my cards right, I may find my next husband. Nope, scratch that. Fuck these cheating ass men.
Rio sat slumped in the passenger seat with Mick at the wheel. Leaning back on the headrest with his hood pulled up. Rio sat there as his mind kept going over everything. They pulled into the park, waiting for dingbat and her crew. Once they were in sight, Rio gave his boy a nod. Mick exited the car, exchanging duffle bags with Beth. She told him she would have the next one ready at the appointed time.Â
âDid you find a way to handle the situation we discussed the other day?â
Beth shook her head with pleading eyes. She promised to find a way to get to the bottom of it. Mick nodded in reply. As she started to leave, Mick halted everyoneâs movements.
âBackseat now. Weâre going for a ride.â
With a frightened look, Beth started walking toward the vehicle. Mick stopped her again.
âNot you. Iâm talking to you half pint,â Mick ordered, pointing at Annie.
Annieâs eyes stretched wide as the three women gawked at him. With a devious smile, he taunted, âdonât worry, Iâll take real good care of her.â
Beth walked over to the passenger window and pounded on it. She took two steps back when Rio rolled down his window. The look he gave stole the breath from her lungs.Â
âIs there a problem, darlinâ,â his question dripped with danger.
âI told you I would get you answers. I-I just need a little more time.â
âThatâs cool, but you may want to watch your nephew for little sister. His mamaâs going to kick it with Mick for a bit. Got a little side hustle for her.â
âI can do it.â
âDid I ask you to?â Rio snapped.
âPlease keep her safe,â she whimpered.
âGet me that information. Baby sister will come back better than she left. Stay safe, Elizabeth. We donât want anything bad happening to the little mama to be right? Itâs not very responsible of you to be downing liquor bottles, donât you think,â Rio questioned in a knowing tone.
Elizabeth looked at him with fear in her eyes.
âI notice everything, darlinâ. Weâre going to take a ride tomorrow. Just the two of us. Check on the little bambino.â
He rolled up his window before she could say anything else. They sped off, leaving Beth to explain everything to Ruby.
Not wanting to turn too many heads, you settled on a simple black dress. You figured it was appropriate, given that it matched your mood. The form-fitting bodycon paired well with the dark red heeled sandals and lipstick you sported. Checking that the room key was inside your handbag, you exited the room.
The hostess gave you a warm greeting. She granted your request for a seat at the bar. As you claimed your spot, the gentleman behind the bar asked for your drink of choice. His eyes had roamed your body from the minute you sat down. It hadnât gone unnoticed. Prepared to answer his question with disinterest, someone stepped up next to you. Strong hands braced against the top of the bar. A silky baritone sounded, making your breath hitch.
Are you serious? Who else am I going to run into? This day is beyond me. Maybe itâs not him. I have to be trip-.
âSheâll have a whiskey sour. Thatâs what she used to drink whenever a frown touched that beautiful face.â
Yes. That would be the one and only.
You turned your head slowly to take in the familiar voice. His face was as beautiful as you had remembered it.
âHello, mi amor. May I join you? I could use a drink myself.â
Confusion and shock danced across your face. You looked back and forth between the thirsty bartender and your long-lost friend. His eyes connected with yours as that handsome smile crept across his face. He signaled for the bartender to go ahead with the order. Taking the seat next to you, he chuckled at your expression.
âItâs nice to see you after all these years, querida. What brought you back here? Last I checked, you were happily in love. Are you and the husband here on business?â
Hearing him mention Rio snapped you out of it.
âMiguel,â you whispered.
His eyes crinkled as he gave you another beaming smile.
âItâs good to see you again. How have you been? Are you enjoying married life? Whatâs it been a year or two since the I Doâs?â
The smile that had occupied your lips for a moment faltered. Your eyes started to water as you looked away and faced the bar. Miguelâs hand covered yours gently.Â
âWhat is it, sweetheart? Tell me whatâs bothering you.â
Just as you were about to answer him, a familiar pain in your ass sounded off behind the two of you.
âYes, prima. Iâd like to know whatâs going on as well. Most importantly, how do you know my associate here,â Nick questioned.
Nick waited for an answer as he sat there looking smug. A knowing look crept onto his face as if he had discovered a secret.
âHow do you two know each-wait? Prima? Youâre related to her husband?â
âWhat business are you two dealing in? Are you working with Rio, Miguel?â
Before he could answer, Nick answered for him.
âRelax, prima. Itâs my business deal. Rio isnât involved. We do have individual businesses. We butt heads too much to do everything together.â
âI wouldnât do business with your husband without telling you, querida. Then there is the fact that weâve never met in person. The meeting is my first encounter with your cousin. Iâm sure you know Rio wouldnât want to go into business with me.â
âAnd why is that? He used to tap that or something, prima? Maybe I should give Rio a call.â
âAre you interested in talking about business or not, Nick? That is the only thing that needs to be questioned or discussed,â Miguel responded in an aggravated tone.
âHey, whatever you say, man. She knows Iâm just teasing.â
âThen perhaps you should find someone else to aggravate. The lovely lady certainly doesnât enjoy it. Is our table ready?â
âYes,â Nick bit back.
âThen letâs get this over with. I do have other business to attend to. You have my attention for the next hour. We arenât starting on a good note, wouldnât you agree, Nick? You need to fix that. I assume the warehouse visit has been scheduled and prepped for tomorrow. Letâs make our way to our reserved table.â
âRight this way.â
Miguelâs hand gave your shoulder a light squeeze before he got up to follow Nick.Â
âIâm sure you still have Nestorâs number,â he asked, tilting his head toward his security/cousin.Â
âIf you need anything, give me a call. It was a pleasure running into you, querida.â
You gave him a weak smile and nodded softly. Turning back to the bar, you downed the whiskey sour. Your fingers tapped the bar for another. The drink was halfway to your lips when Rio started blowing your phone up. With a deep sigh, you ignore it and turn your phone off.
âBartender? Go ahead and bring me two more.â
The universe is funny as fuck. This manâs going to find me. I can just feel it.
You rubbed your temples as you contemplated where to go from here. One hour, four drinks later, you sat there wallowing in your pain. Thankfully you had made a conscious decision after the last drink to switch to a glass of red wine. Feeling buzzed, you decided it would be your last drink of the night. Taking your time with it, you nursed it for a while. Just as you had swirled the remaining liquid in its glass, Miguel reclaimed his seat from earlier.
âA penny for your thoughts, querida?â
Your eyes drifted from the stem of your wine glass to Miguelâs face. He noticed that you were slightly inebriated. His hand reached up and brushed your hair out of your face. The palm of his hand rested on your cheek.
âDonât you have other meetings to get to?â
âI just wanted that smug asshole to hurry up and discuss the deal. The sooner we did that, the quicker your dear cousin would be gone,â he replied sarcastically.
âHmm. Smug bastard, huh? That best describes his thick-headed ass,â you toast, downing the last of the wine.
âYou shouldnât be drinking at a bar by yourself, amor. Iâve watched half the men in here ogle you the entire time youâve been here. Come. Nestor and I will escort you to your room.â
Miguel didnât want to give you time to protest or continue drinking. He paid your tab and held his hand out. You stared at it for a moment.
âThough youâre wearing heels, those cute little legs still dangle from the stool. Come, sweetheart. I promise to be a respectable gentleman. I donât make it a habit of approaching married women,â he chuckled.
Not giving it any more thought, your hand gently grasped as he helped you down. The elevator ride was quiet. That was until you blurted the one question that lingered in the back of your mind.
âWhereâs your wife, Miguel?â
You noticed how his jaw ticked, nostrils flaring slightly.
âShe had other plans tonight,â he answered.
Before you could ask him to elaborate, the elevator dinged.
âI do believe this is your floor.â
Miguel placed his hand on the small of your back. Nestor stepped aside, allowing you two to step out first. He asked for your hotel key as you walked down the hall. You turned the corner as you placed the key card in his hand.
âYou said the first door on the left, right?â
âYe-.â
You lost your train of thought as you started to panic. There was a large bouquet of yellow roses in front of your door.
âShit.â
âWhatâs wrong, querida,â Miguel asked as he rubbed the small of your back.
The worry in your eyes set off alarm bells in his mind. Miguel took a look and noticed the flowers. The distress about possibly working with Rio. The teasing from Nick. He turned to face you, blocking the view of your door. His hand caressed your face.
âTell me the truth. Are you in danger? Did you leave your husband, querida,â he whispered as he searched your eyes for the truth.Â
No longer able to keep the emotions bottled up, your lip trembled as the tears slipped down your face. You nodded slowly. Miguel frowned at the response. He pulled you into an embrace as you cried into his chest. His hands rubbed your back as he attempted to soothe you.
The two of you stayed that way for a few moments. Pulling back from his embrace, you wiped at your tears. Miguelâs hands slid up and down your arms.
âDid he hurt you,â he asked, jaw ticking again.
âRio would never put hands on me. He-he.â
Unable to finish the sentence, a fresh set of tears spilled.
âOkay, okay. Shhh. I think Iâm starting to understand. Come here.â
He embraced you again. Once he calmed you, Miguel escorted you to the door. He nodded at Nestor, signaling him to pick up the flowers. Unlocking your suite, he grabbed the flowers and followed you inside.
âThanks for getting me here safely. Sorry, I just unloaded all my emotions on you like a crazy person.â
âItâs fine, querida. Thatâs what friends are for. We were close once. Lost time wonât affect that.â
His thumbs swept residual tears away. He bent to your feet and helped you out of your heels. Standing, he grabbed your hand and held it. His finger lifted your chin.
âTry and get some rest. Come deadbolt the door behind me.â
Following him to the door, you watched as he opened the suite door. Stepping into the hallway, he turned to speak with Nestor.
âHave one of the other men come and watch her door for the night. If itâs not me, no one gets in here. Donât even let them knock. Watch the door until your replacement gets here.â
Nestor nodded in agreement taking his position in front of your door. Miguel turned to you, his hand running down your arm again.
âIf you need me, Iâm on the top floor. Just ask whoever is guarding the door to call me. Better yet, here. Call me if you need anything.â
Miguel handed you a card that had both his business and personal number.
âOkay,â you whispered.
âIâm serious.â
âIâll be fine, Miguel. Rioâs just adamant about us staying together. He would never physically harm me.â
âYou canât blame him for wanting to work it out. Any man would be a fool not to fight for you. Still, if you need me, call me.â
âYeah, because Emily would just love that. Sheâs never been fond of me.â
âDonât worry about her. Iâm the least of my wifeâs worries at the moment.â
No longer wanting to discuss his personal life, Miguel pecked your forehead.
âGoodnight, Y/N.â
Locking the deadbolt behind him, you made your way to the bedroom. Stripping out of the tight dress, you bundled up in a complimentary robe. Falling into the couch, you turned your phone back on. Six texts and two voicemails. You rolled your eyes. Noticing the flowers, you mumbled to yourself, âfucking Nick probably snitched. Little shit.â
You snatched the card from the bouquet and flipped it over. Your breathing sped up as your mind started to race.
What the fuck? I donât need this shit. What next?
Hands trembling, you re-read the card.
âI see hubbyâs out of the picture. Whoâs going to protect you now? What better way to kick Rio when heâs down? He would probably be beside himself if his precious jewel came up missing. Stay safe, pretty lady.â
To top it off, now I have to run from his ops too? You have to be shitting me!
Snatching the door open, Nestor saw the look of fright in your eyes.
âThe flowers arenât from my husband. Iâm pretty sure whoever sent them just threatened me. Tell Miguel I appreciate everything he did tonight, but Iâm getting the fuck out of here.â
Nestor talked you down. He instructed you to grab anything needed for the night and lock up. In less than twenty minutes, Nestor was escorting you to Miguel. He was anxiously waiting for your arrival. His hands instantly cradled your face.
âYouâre staying with me for the night. Weâll figure out where youâll go from here in the morning. Sleep in the bedroom. Iâll take the couch.â
âThatâs nonsense. I can sleep on the couch.â
âNo, you wonât. No arguments.â
âWhy are most men in my life so damn bossy.â
âThey also seem to have the same types of occupation. You donât seem to like men who like legal work, querida.â
âHa, ha. Youâre so hilarious.â
âThereâs nothing wrong with that. Those mentioned tend to be extremely successful at it,â Miguel replied with a shit-eating grin.
âAnyway.â
The conversation was interrupted by yet another call from Rio.
âLook, I'm going to have to answer him. Iâve been ignoring him for hours now. I know his veins are about to pop out of his neck.â
You excused yourself, taking the call in his bathroom.
âFor someone whoâs always so busy, you sure are blowing up my phone. Go back to ignoring me, please. I donât have the energy to go back and forth with you, Rio. Iâm tired and stressed out.â
âJust come home, mama. Iâll leave and stay somewhere else. Just come home,â he slurred.
âAre you at that stupid bar that demands your attention as well? Go home, Rio. Sleep off the liquor.â
âI gotta be near you, mama. Who's going to protect you? What if someone tries to harm you while youâre not with me? I canât live with that shit. I need my wife to come home. Come on, mama.â
âItâs a little too late to protect me now. Isnât it? Donât worry about me, Rio. I can handle this shit myself,â you snapped, quickly regretting the last sentence.
âHandle what shit, mama,â he barked.
Fuck.
He instantly knew something was up.
âItâs okay, Rio. Iâm a big girl. Luckily my stupid ass husband taught me how to use a gun. You know I stay strapped.â
âEither come home or tell me where the fuck you are. Iâm going to light whatever city youâre in up. Better yet, Iâm about to spray any suspected target.â
âDonât be stupid. There is no need to start a war on my behalf.â
âIâm not going back and forth about this anymore. Tell me where you are.â
âNo, goodbye, Rio.â
âDonât fucking hang-.â
Miguel stood propped against the door frame.
âI know he fucked up, but it sounds like he wants to keep you out of harmâs way.â
âDonât, Miguel.â
He placed his hands up in surrender.
âIf he canât do that for you, I will.â
Yeah, cause my husband would just love that. Jesus, be a therapist. I need Iyanla to come and fix my life, bruh.
âI Can Understand Why You Want A Divorce Now. Though I Canât Let You Know It, Pride Wonât Let Me Show It.
-Jay Z.
Rio had been sitting in his bar for a few hours. Though the argument made him even more aggravated, he took your advice. He wasnât in the mood to take a chance at catching a DUI. Rio instructed Mick to drive him home.
He swaggered into the family room and lounged on the couch. The house was painfully quiet without your presence. Rioâs thoughts drifted to you as his chest tightened at the thought of you being in danger. Sighing, he closed his eyes in an attempt to shake the negative thoughts. Your scent still lingered throughout the house. Nothing seemed to help him shake the memories and intrusive thoughts. His eyes fluttered open, nostrils flaring. Rio was trying to be patient with you, but it was starting to wear thin. You could be mad for however long, but divorce was out of the question. Could he do a better job at loving you? Yes, and he was willing to do so. Would you be willing to give him another chance?Â
Rioâs buzz had started to wear off. Blowing out a breath, he stared at a picture of you two. The frame on the console table contained a photo from your first anniversary. Shaking his head, he stood up and walked over to the bar cart. Throwing back another glass of brown liquor, he fixed one more and reclaimed his seat. He asked Alexa to play a specific song. The lyrics hit home as he nodded to the beat and recited them. Song Cry by Jay Z flowed through the entertainment system.
âThey say you canât turn a bad girl good, but once a good girlâs gone bad, sheâs gone forever. Mourn forever. Shit, I gotta live with the fact I did you wrong forever.â
What happened to everybody deserves a second chance, mama? Damn, I miss my wife.
Sis can't catch a break, huh loveliesđ©đ? I hope you all enjoyed part three. More drama to come in part four! I can't wait for you all to read what happens next. Can't say for sure when part four will be done and ready for posting. I'm still taking things slow. Please, please, please love, reblog, and comment. I would love to hear from you all. My ask box is open as well. I missed y'all, man!
Be sure to check out the playlist I created for this fic. It's on both Apple Music and Spotify. The links are towards the top of this post (in case you missed. Still adding to it, so if you have any song suggestions just drop an ask. The playlist is pretty lengthy and it's best on shuffle in my opinion. Thank you once again for all the support. Words can't express how appreciative I am. Love y'allđ„čđ«¶đŸ! Keep scrolling for another bomb-ass mood board (saved it for the end so it wouldn't spoil the reveal)đ„°.

internet! i'm in the market for longform youtube videos to watch as i do the slightly less taxing but lengthy parts of drawing and painting. i'm up for pretty much anything, funny stuff, video essays, streamers. been having kind of a doll customising moment. my only caveat is, and i don't know what to call it specifically, i don't like... i guess youtube cadence? like, talking like a children's tv presenter. the video could be really interesting and informative, but i always feel so patronised that i click right off. anyway, if there's a youtube channel you're dying to talk about, i'm all ears
#text post#my favourite internet video guy is thorhighheels#they have transcended notions of good and bad. there is only scuffed. and scuffed is good#won't say no to a podcast either#i'm not a big watching a tv series i haven't seen before during painting#type of person#i can't split my focus that well and i wouldn't want to mar my first experience by doing it a disservice#you know. youtube cadence. WHAT'SuPPEVERYBodyy and WELCOME to my CH you get the idea

just accidentally stumbled on an egwene hate reddit thread and everyone was bitching about how she tries to act like rand's equal when she's only the second-most powerful authority figure on the continent, and one sane person was like "well, balance was a huge theme of the series, so it's pretty clear that RJ did consider the dragon and the amyrlin two halves of a whole and that rand is meant to be egwene's equal co-authority rather than her superior" and of course they were downvoted to hell. and this one little thread just really epitomizes how the readers who approach WOT as a male power fantasy just fundamentally will never understand the series and its themes and the story it was ACTUALLY telling.
#and probably also why they hate the show so much and insist it's nothing like the books#because the show is telling the same story the books were telling#but this medium makes it harder for you to ignore the story being told and convince yourself the version you made up is what's there#wot#wot book spoilers#and of course that thread was full of takes like 'the point is to show that egwene=tuon and amyrlin seat=crystal throne#and the white tower is just as bad as the seanchan and everyone should shut up and listen to rand'#and 'egwene was an abusive bully and thank god she died in TLB or the world would've been screwed in the fourth age'#UGH#and even the argument of people trying to be more ~fair~ is just 'egwene's a terrible person but a great character'#UGH!!!! she is literally one of the most morally righteous people in the series#and her bad moments are nowhere near as bad or as numerous as the war crimes rand pulls#yet no one ever doubts that RAND is ultimately a good person who stumbled here and there#(ig maybe egwene's TAR nynaeve thing is worse than anything rand did? but it's also abundantly clear that RJ had no idea HOW bad it was#so i take that moment with a bit of a grain of salt since i really don't think he grasped the severity of what he wrote there#and if he had he very likely would have written it differently)

tired of early 20-somethings acting like harry potter was never good or had no value in its day like shut the fuck up half of you weren't even there when it peaked
#sit with the cognitive dissonance like the rest of us or shut up honestly#was it a product of its time yes#was it's author a very basic neoliberal white lady from a country with a long and unchecked imperialist history yes#was the story influenced by said neoliberal worldviews and unexamined biases obviously#does any of that make it a bad story or an unimaginative world no#you can pick apart any fantasy world if you try hard enough#harry potter was a good telling of the hero's journey written in the format of seven mystery novels set against a fantasy backdrop#we can certainly talk about its flaws or how the author's biases leaked onto the page#but stop acting like it was never good and there was never a reason those books resonated with people#it's condescending for one thing and again- if you're younger than like...24-25 you didn't actually experience the heyday of the books#if you're 25 now you'd have been like 8 or 9 when the last book came out and probably weren't reading them yet#you might remember the latter half of the movie era but you have no idea how much it was the BOOKS that drove its popularity#never before and never since has any book series had the fanfare that harry potter did and that didn't happen for no reason#so find a way to make peace with that instead of acting intellectually superior because you grew up with percy jackson instead#this 'well MY generation's preferred childhood book series is morally superior to YOURS so I'm better than you' shit drives me up a wall#like get over yourself honestly#...sorry had to get that off my chest there was this youtube video and it was irritating me

i'm having hyperfixation drought so i did what i did best and created a crossover episode
#trafficblr#life series#hermitcraft#qsmp#the drought's been crazy i had to make qsmp x life series/hermitcraft you don't understand i literally had to#i literally cannot tag all of the cubitos without going over the limit so i'm gonna use them to rant about these doodles instead#when i tell you that i think dl!pearl would've loved tilĂn i'm telling you i think she would've LOVED them like.#something about just wanting to find love at every turn but feeling unwanted spdihgpisadhfpa. and also tilĂn's name is similar to tilly LOL#the jelly egg is just like if the double life jelly pandas were just an egg that scar loves with all his heart and grian reluctantly accept#i think out of all the duos in qsmp. the one i would want to see in the dl soumate premise the most is slimeriana. it's the dysfunctionalit#i made a post in the past about pac and tango being my fav cubitos bcs they were both crazy cartoonish and like scientists#but it kinda felt like a disservice to leave mike and zedaph out because to me they're argubly crazier and more cartoonish#missa and tim are paired bcs i just really wanted an excuse to draw the wet cats and it just so happened they both have relations to death#skizz and jaiden as the lawyers who were SHOCKINGLY good at their jobs like they cooked with that one#(was also gonna draw joe and roier as bad lawyers but i was running outta steam)#someone's already made a post about grian and (el) quackity and their eye entities so not much elaboration needed there#fit and etho just give the same vibe to be as a dude who has a reputation and is well-known and seems intimidating#i also made fit's arms way too skinny and i don't like it...but i'm not gonna go back and change it now i spent embarassingly long on this#but then his silliness is brought out by The Narrative#foolish and bdubs is one of my favorite drawings because i just knew i wanted to highlight the silly height difference#just realized they're also both god-like figures at least at some point#cellbit and rendog. cat and dog and lore. enough said about their connection.#i couldn't decide who fit etoiles combat hungry anime protagonist vibe best bcs martyn was originally paired with him#but i wanted martyn with phil so i went with my second options: joel and gem#i couldn't draw them mid rage but essentially the title is derived from âWHO KILLED EMPANADAâ and âdo me a favor. die for me.â#philza minecraft and martyn inthelittlewood. they feel like twins but one is evil (it's martyn)#SOMETHING I FORGOT THAT I WISH I ADDED: BBH AND BIGB AS THE ENTITIES WHO LIE. I HATE MYSELF HOW COULD I FORGET THAT#if i were to pair impulse with someone it would be tubbo? either him or scar would've been with tubbo#and then lizzie i just did not know who i wanted to pair her with. no one really does it like her in my opinion#scott's someone i also had no idea who to put him with he's just so...him...

I've always thought like what would eventually push Roy into Therapy was him losing his voice for a few days because he's straining so much that it goes away. And he has to deal with his repression or else he's gonna lose it again?
(because wow you can definitely hear the difference in strain between season one and season three) ïżŒ
Personally I think the fight with Jamie was probably what pushed him over the edge. Based on his body language in the bones & honey scene (grinding his teeth, clenching his fists) and the way he was asking the diamond dogs about whether people can "really change" the next day, I think he felt like he genuinely lost control to rage and wound up hurting someone he cared about, and he was shaken by that
But I can see something like this being a part of like. How he realizes that it's going too far
#ask#jamie tartt#roy kent#I think for most of the series Roy (and most of the audience) sees his physical aggression as benign because he only directs it at people#who are 'deserving'#and I think Jamie not only shifts from 'deserving' to 'not deserving' in his mind but also kind of teaches him that#people aren't that black and white#so like. hauling off and punching Jamie in the face and actually injuring him to the extent that he was bleeding all over his sweatshirt was#sort of a shattering of that idea that his anger functions to protect the Good from the Bad
