HELP NEEDED—PLEASE READ
hi, Adam, here, and I’m speaking from my position in a movement to help save my college and our community. We need your help.
Goddard College, is a remarkable and vital learning institution that has brought tremendous social and economic value to Vermont, and has achieved much support and love from the wider Vermont community over the years.
For decades it’s provided a supportive student-focused environment and a strong community unlike any other college, transformed students into our best selves, and even saved lives.
Despite this it is currently in the process of being shut down by a board of trustees that has neglected their duties to operate in good faith and act in the best interest of the institution, to respect the contracts formed with both the faculty and staff unions, to honor their obligations to the students whose learning has been massively disrupted (and caused severe harm to students mental health) as well as to engage in good faith with all parties interested in acquiring the goddard name, academic program and campus.
The board have chosen a buyer for the campus. We’re doing the best we can but it’s been rough.
If you don’t have the energy to help that’s understandable, but for everyone who does there are three primary representatives we need to flood the inboxes of.
Becca balint (202) 225-4115)
Bernie sanders (202-224-5141)
Pete Welch (202-224-4242)
The goal is to get at least one of these representatives to actively sit down with us and discuss solutions. We need to call them *every day* until they meet with us at the Remake Goddard movement.
They asked me for my contact info afterwards. Forward anything they send you to [email protected].
Use this call script to guide your words on the call. https://docs.google.com/document/d/12Kwh4HrzKeLSmRglfUa7xUB3MLXa6_KqH4P0qX4m284/edit
Spread this to everyone you can. The more people who call in asking for the same thing, the better chance we have of getting it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. We need to be LOUD and we need to be IRRITATING.
We need help. Let’s get some.

Tribute to Goddard College
Since we lost another College due to issues throughout the years, here's my little tribute article to Goddard College. Maybe we can see the "Remaking" of Goddard, through this project going on. Read to learn more:
HISTORY The Goddard of today took shape in earnest in 1938, when a group of educators led by Royce “Tim” Pitkin proposed a Vermont “College for Living” to be located on a Plainfield sheep farm purchased from the Martin family. This new college would provide the environment for students and faculty together to build a democratic community featuring plenty of the “plain living and hard…

what is YOUR American dream?
like obviously there the generic American dream, which is owning a home in suburbia, having a partner and 3.5 kids. But that's just what has been told us. What is your American dream like outside of the programing?
What is your American dream? You know too much about the American landscape and the different types of communities and living styles available to everyone.
Do you wanna live near a retirement community in Florida? Just going on walks and having a solid group of people that you see every day?
Do you want to live on an isolated ranch in North Dakota? Only going into town once a week to get necessities?
Do you want to live in New York City? Being a social butterfly and floating between friend groups and communities at your leisure?
Do you want to live an organic hippie lifestyle on a commune in Arizona?
and something I like to do when planning or envisioning these types of lifestyles Is acknowledging that this will probably only go on for about 5-10 years.
10 years is the maximum amount of time I will probably spend engaging with that lifestyle and that way of being before i want something new. The limitation of the time Span kills the limerence, and makes me approach my desires in a more "realistic" way.

""Closer, Closer," Says Love
Nishikino Maki & Umi Sonoda, Love Live, 1K, 1/1
Summary: Maki and Umi talk movies and Nico.
""Closer, Closer," Says Love"
Umi Sonoda’s brisk pace kept Nishikino Maki from dropping into a sleep deprived haze.
“Will your schedule still accommodate viewing Alphaville this Sunday?”
“Sure.” Then Maki hesitated, “Wait, I have to check the joint calendar.”
“Joint calendar?”
“Nico set up a joint calendar for us so everyone she knows in Theatre or RTVF can get headshots without her giving them my number.”
There was silence from Umi, but it was expectant silence.
“Nico liked the headshots I took of her a lot, so her new plan to take over both New York and LA is to have everyone at Northwestern have the” Maki altered her voice slightly, “number one headshot photographer in the universe” take theirs and land more jobs. More NU alums in jobs means more NU networking means Nico gets her EGOT faster.”
Umi blinked, humming. “Impressive strategizing.”
“We’re damn lucky Nico’s not an ancient daimyo demanding we conquer the Loop to grow her collection of theatres.”
“My sword awaits her summons.” Umi chuckled.
Maki paused, “Never say that around Nico. She might just take you seriously.”
“You say that seriously.”
“I mean it seriously. She gets this glint in her eye and all these plans come spilling out and they can start to sound very convincing. It’s too easy to get caught up. She never stops to breathe so you can’t just casually divert the conversation.” Maki smiled, just for a second, “I have tried.”
“She is a very ambitious woman.”
“Yep.”
“I respect that.”
“Me too.” Maki rubbed her chin, “but…”
“But?”
“Nevermind.”
“It sounds” Umi paused. “Serious.”
“I’m banning that word for the rest of … ever.” Maki groaned, “Nico’s like the weather. She has the same effect on everyone. I’m not special.”
“I don’t think that’s true. Not many people take her plans serio…” Umi coughed, “To rephrase, I have spoken to uninformed persons who believe Nico’s impulsiveness means she lacks gravitas, that’s she’s just hastily grasping for whatever the wind blows by.”
“That’s not true. Sure, Nico grabs what life gives her, but she puts in the work. It’s all part of the Nico Plan. Which is on public display. Like a museum exhibit. She wrote it all down. I don’t know when she ever rests.” Maki glared at Umi. “Do people really say that about her?”
Umi had both hands raised in a placating gesture, “I have a different opinion, as do you. And we both know Nico appreciates your support for her efforts at world domination.”
“You make me sound like a villain’s sidekick.”
“Are you more of an investor then?”
Maki shook her head, “She doesn’t take money.”
“Neither do you, I suspect.”
“Not completely accurate. Nico says everybody thinks too cheap is a scam so we decided, 1 hour per person at $100 an hour, but there’s a 50% friend of Nico discount. And all of them manage their own prints, which is most of the expense. And the bother. I have nothing to do with that part.” Maki grinned, “Also, Nico makes me lunch and snacks.”
“Sounds very well organized. Is it impacting your studies?”
“I was already frustrated with classes. And no, I’m being careful with the scheduling.” Maki’s pace slowed, “But sometimes, I…can’t get people out of my head.”
“What do you mean?”
“I get curious about them or rehearse conversations or…” Maki shrugged, “Sometimes, I get tired and talk too much.”
“So you would rather ignore your subjects?”
“No, casual conversations are fine. But with a few of them, there’s this fluttering of connection and it’s aggravating. It's always happened; it's always bothered me. It’s why I started wondering if demisexual was a better label for me.”
“Why is it aggravating?” Umi prompted. Maki didn’t often talk about feelings, but tonight, she seemed to need a friendly ear.
“Because…” Maki frowned, “I suppose it’s like a false clue? It seems to mean something, takes up as much time as a real clue, but then it just kind of blanks.”
“Maybe we should talk about that at the next meeting.” While nearly everyone believed Umi and Maki had met and continued to meet at the Classic Film Club, that was a cover story because neither of them wanted to discuss their involvement in the campus Asexual Alliance. Umi identified as both poly and aromantic and appreciated being able to vent with others who felt like amatonormativity was a treacherous snare pop culture left everywhere.
“Maybe. I’ve started to recognize the signs so it’s easier to deal with. I just shove it in the ‘I’ll be over this in three sleepless nights” corner of my mind.”
Umi laughed, “It still sounds tiring.”
“Only for another week or so. There’s only so many performance majors. Alphaville will be a nice break. Oh, Nico wants to watch with us. I swear she thinks more like a director than an actor. She’s been texting me Goddard facts and quotes every day. Today, she sent me a list of the films he shot on video as suggestions for our next movie night.”
“I didn’t know video was in use that long ago.”
“If it was the 70’s and you were Jean-Luc Goddard, it was.”
“How interesting.”
Maki had picked up her pace again. She was walking Umi home and then stopping by Nico’s dorm after for snacks and video games.
“She is.”
“Please tell her my pen is at her disposal should she wish to experiment on video or film.”
“Your pen being mightier than your sword?” Maki stretched her arms out.
Umi chuckled.
They’d reached Allison Hall, where Umi shared a triple with Kotori Minami and Honoka Kousaka. Umi stopped for a parting exchange. “Thank you for the company, Maki. Please tell Nico I look forward to including her perspective in our movie nights.”
“I’m not offering her your sword or pen though.” Maki scuffed a heel.
Umi nodded, “That is probably best done by me, face to face, with my instrument in hand.”
Maki kickscraped a small pebble at Umi, then nodded, “See you Sunday.”
“Get some sleep, my friend.”
Umi watched Maki wave and walk toward CRC. Whatever relationship Nico and Maki had, Maki definitely seemed to feel a magnetic pull toward the dainty dynamo’s location. Umi wished her luck navigating that tide. Meanwhile, Nico was certainly going to add a refreshing spin to their discussions. A Goddard quote came to Umi’s mind, “Away, away,” says hate. “Closer, closer,” says love.”
A/N: Howdy! Tempted to change the name of the series to something like Muse Makes Movies since really no Goncharov knowledge is necessary. Thanks for stopping by. I'm liking these conversations; I hope you are too.

Tiny BurstCube's Tremendous Travelogue
Meet BurstCube! This shoebox-sized satellite is designed to study the most powerful explosions in the cosmos, called gamma-ray bursts. It detects gamma rays, the highest-energy form of light.
BurstCube may be small, but it had a huge journey to get to space.
First, BurstCube was designed and built at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Here you can see Julie Cox, an early career engineer, working on BurstCube’s gamma-ray detecting instrument in the Small Satellite Lab at Goddard.
BurstCube is a type of spacecraft called a CubeSat. These tiny missions give early career engineers and scientists the chance to learn about mission development — as well as do cool science!
Then, after assembling the spacecraft, the BurstCube team took it on the road to conduct a bunch of tests to determine how it will operate in space. Here you can see another early career engineer, Kate Gasaway, working on BurstCube at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
She and other members of the team used a special facility there to map BurstCube’s magnetic field. This will help them know where the instrument is pointing when it’s in space.
The next stop was back at Goddard, where the team put BurstCube in a vacuum chamber. You can see engineers Franklin Robinson, Elliot Schwartz, and Colton Cohill lowering the lid here. They changed the temperature inside so it was very hot and then very cold. This mimics the conditions BurstCube will experience in space as it orbits in and out of sunlight.
Then, up on a Goddard rooftop, the team — including early career engineer Justin Clavette — tested BurstCube’s GPS. This so-called open-sky test helps ensure the team can locate the satellite once it’s in orbit.
The next big step in BurstCube’s journey was a flight to Houston! The team packed it up in a special case and took it to the airport. Of course, BurstCube got the window seat!
Once in Texas, the BurstCube team joined their partners at Nanoracks (part of Voyager Space) to get their tiny spacecraft ready for launch. They loaded the satellite into a rectangular frame called a deployer, along with another small satellite called SNoOPI (Signals of Opportunity P-band Investigation). The deployer is used to push spacecraft into orbit from the International Space Station.
From Houston, BurstCube traveled to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, where it launched on SpaceX’s 30th commercial resupply servicing mission on March 21, 2024. BurstCube traveled to the station along with some other small satellites, science experiments, as well as a supply of fresh fruit and coffee for the astronauts.
A few days later, the mission docked at the space station, and the astronauts aboard began unloading all the supplies, including BurstCube!
And finally, on April 18, 2024, BurstCube was released into orbit. The team will spend a month getting the satellite ready to search the skies for gamma-ray bursts. Then finally, after a long journey, this tiny satellite can embark on its big mission!
BurstCube wouldn’t be the spacecraft it is today without the input of many early career engineers and scientists. Are you interested in learning more about how you can participate in a mission like this one? There are opportunities for students in middle and high school as well as college!
Keep up on BurstCube’s journey with NASA Universe on X and Facebook. And make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space!

Maxwell hcs to complete my collection
-my biggest one is that she’s trans(!!) When she came out in her late teenage years, her family became very aggressive towards her which led to her getting a restraining order against them. Being accepted into MIT at such an early time was a huge relief for her because it allowed her to be more open about her identity and to acquire the necessary medical treatments and surgeries she needed. Later on when she accepted the job at Goddard, the first person she told about being trans was Kepler, who said something along the lines of that he recruited her for her brain and the rest didn’t matter to him in the grand scheme of things. The autonomy that Kepler gave her made Maxwell trust him greatly, so he was the first to “know” (he already knew, obviously, so the technical first person she told this about to was Jacobi)
-always dehydrated. Girl is is never in a state of bodily harmony
-takes every moment she can to talk about her work. She could be in a gas station at three in the morning and telling the cashier about a recent breakthrough and they’re just nodding along
-this one’s pretty much canon but since she isn’t in contact with her bio family, she always celebrates holidays with Kepler and Jacobi. Most the time it’s going to Kepler’s place for a meal or Jacobi’s for a game or movie night. Kepler rarely goes to game nights though cause he’s a sore loser. Maxwell wins most the time at strategic games and Jacobi gets annoyingly lucky on chance games. Uno and monopoly are banned.
-insomniac. A terrible habit from college that stuck around into her adulthood
-Walmart has pistachio flavored muffins and I think Maxwell would love them. (Personal note: my family just got a pack of them today when they were stocked. I’m thrilled at the prospect of being able to have a pistachio muffin tomorrow.)
-she and Jacobi picked up a lot of each others work as their friendship went on, so Maxwell knows a good bit of demolition work and Jacobi knows an above average amount about the nuances of AI
-on that note, Maxwell also often mimics the people she’s around (you can decide if it’s an autistic thing for her or just a Maxwell thing for yourself). Because she works closely with AI (non-human beings), she uses mimicry as a social mechanism to appear more “friendly” of sorts
-still in contact with her oldest sibling. They were really close as kids and due to the backlash against Maxwell after she came out, they were forced to grow distant and lost contact fully for a couple years. Her sibling eventually found Maxwell again while she was a senior at MIT, and they started to build back up their relationship again since then. Her sibling was the first to know about the new mission for the SI-5 to be sent up to Wolf 359.
-inexplicable love for fig newtons. (I’m projecting sorry. It will happen again)
-round blue light glasses! Just a fun little thought I have about her appearance. Very heavy duty glasses, was made by someone in the engineering sector of Goddard
-her apartment has a lot of mismatched furniture. The chairs at her table are all different, the couple pieces of furniture are all different colors and textures, an excessive amount of lamps, a bookshelf with a lot more than just books on it, and so on.
-her favorite fruit are raspberries
-the only sport she has ever done (and enjoyed) is rollerblading. Idk this is another one that feels right in my heart. It’s real to me
-always wanted to go to Spain. I think she’d have thrived tbh
-she clocked onto Jacobi’s “complicated feelings” for Kepler immediately. Gaydar off the charts. She teased him mercilessly for at least a week.
-all of her biro pens are worn down on the base end because shes subconsciously hitting them on whatever table she’s working at
-the only one out of the SI-5 that enjoys the fortune cookie wafers from the Chinese orders. She always has Jacobi (and Kepler if he’s around at the time) choose one for the fortune and then gives the cookie to her. In addition, she keeps all her own fortune papers in a glass jar in her apartment on the bookshelf. The metal top has a small slit in it so she can just slip the paper in. She has a small scar on one palm from when she was cutting out the piece of metal from the middle.
-speaking of hands, she’s ambidextrous to me. She taught herself how to utilize both hands when she was in elementary school for efficiency sake and it became a very useful skill later on when she was doing primarily computer work.
-learned how to write in multiple forms of shorthand because she was bored. When she’s taking hand written notes, she’ll switch between standard English and shorthand every so often, normally to abbreviate a long train of thought.
I was having some trouble wording this one but there’s some Maxwell hcs to finish off the SI-5 hc chronicles

they state that kepler has worked for nearly every department at Goddard but I was thinking. How the hell did he start there. And well uhmmm I think he started as a translator fresh out of college at age 22, and (un)fortunately caught cutters attention during a business meeting
#multilingual kepler is so so so real to me.#bestie said he started in the mailroom and then said that was bait for me to say gay shit. so#keplerposting

Psycho | Mark Lee
Summary: A curse means that every one of your boyfriends ends up dead. When you meet Mark, you’re determined to save him.
Genre: College AU, smutty
Warnings: Murder, violence - not for the faint hearted!
Word Count: 1.4k
You were a perfectly normal college girl... except for the fact that you were a serial killer.
Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan... Your body count was like any other girl's, only yours was more literal.
You always did it the same way: a knife through the stomach, their eyes widening in slow-motion. Their blood warm in your hands, like soup. Their bodies buried deep in the wooded hills that bordered the grounds of Goddard college. Then, the walk of shame back to your room – a secret shame known only to you.
Your habit sickened you, but you couldn't stop. When the voice in your head started chanting a person’s name, you had to murder them. That's why you’d made an oath to never make a friend again, to never learn a new name.
Until Mark.
You were sitting alone in the corner of the college meadow, bent over your Edgar Allan Poe poem. It was early October, and the wet red bodies of newly fallen leaves littered the ground.
"Do you know how utterly infuriating you are?" a voice said.
You looked up. Your heart stuttered in your chest. The most beautiful boy you’d ever seen was standing above you. He had tousled black hair, sparkling with rain. His steel-rimmed round glasses gave the impression that he knew all world’s secrets, but would never share them.
Despite the cold, your skin was burning.
"And why is that?" you answered.
"Because you insist on being a mystery." He sat down beside you, his face widening in a smile. "My name's Mark. I think we could be friends."
You walked away. "I’m sorry. I don’t need a friend."
You tried your hardest to avoid Mark. You even shifted around all your courses so they wouldn't match with his. But he was irresistible. Before you knew it, you and Mark were inseparable.
As autumn stretched into winter, you began to get closer to him. You discovered Mark's brilliant, wicked sense of humour. Some nights, beneath the swirling snow, you sensed something hard in the blackness of his eyes. An old wound.
Before you knew it, you were hopelessly in love with him.
Every spark of pleasure Mark gave you was mixed with an equal measure of pain. Because in indulging your need for him, you were putting him in grave danger. You just had to try and resist the urge to kill him, when it inevitably came.
Until one bitterly frosty November day, Mark took your hand in his, and murmured, "You have to see my room. You were going to have to see it one of these days." His voice was light, but something burned in his eyes.
Every rational voice in your head was shouting no. This was too dangerous. In the past, the stakes had never been this high. It had never been love.
But with equal strength, the core of you was screaming yes.
So, against your better judgement, you let yourself be pulled into a taxi and into Mark's room.
Mark’s room was cramped and very dark. Clothes covered the floor. He locked the door behind you.
You knew you had to open that door immediately or you would lose yourself.
But you did not open the door.
Instead, you and Mark stood staring at each other in the dark.
The air smelled of Mark’s aftershave and his warm body. A shiver ran from the crown of your head to your heels. You wanted to laugh. You wanted to cry. You wanted to run away. You wanted to move closer.
Then, Mark pressed himself against you. When he kissed you, your last dregs of resolve evaporated.
You felt the long-forgotten stirrings of desire awake in you. Every touch - Mark's hands cupping your face, your breast, your butt - was unbearably sweet. Yet, each one struck terror deep in you because at any moment, you could hear the whisper of Mark's name and you would feel the urge to kill.
It would have been easier, safer, if this had just been physical. But from the trembling of Mark's fingers, of your own, you knew this was no normal hook-up. This meant too much to both of you.
When you and Mark were tangled together on his single bed, his moans growing faster, you started to think you'd gotten away with it. A wild elation bubbled up inside of you. You’d beaten the game. You’d won. You’d gotten close to somebody without hurting them. You never had to kill again, you thought.
You should have known better.
Just like all the other times, the whispering began. Mark, Mark, Mark... It grew to a murmur, then a yell, then a deafening roar, screaming out that Mark was the one you had to kill next.
You pushed Mark away, fingers squeezing your ears. It was useless. There was nothing you could do to stop the wave of sound.
You could see Mark’s lips moving frantically, his worried eyes, but could hear nothing over the ear-splitting howl.
Every promise you'd made to yourself, every back-up plan, felt small and distant in comparison to the primal need to stop the chanting that was ringing in your ears.
You would have torn Mark’s room into shreds. You would have killed every student in the college. You would have sent the whole place down in flames. You would have done anything to stop that infernal noise.
The shaving razor poked out of the mess of Mark's bedside table. It glinted dully in the half-light. What you had to do was a small thing, you told yourself. One boy's life to stop an eternity of pain.
The razor was cool and strangely flimsy in your fingers, like a baby's rattle. The chanting grew louder, hungrier: Mark, Mark, Mark...
You met Mark's eyes. You recognised the look you had seen in so many other boys’ faces. The look of a man who has realised he is about to die. Teetering on the knife edge between surprise and fear.
Suddenly, your body felt very distant, the sound very far away. You saw yourself, hunched on the bed like a cornered animal, thrusting a razor in Mark’s terrified face.
You were repeating the same old pattern. The pattern that had destroyed everyone you ever cared about. But there was another way. A way to end the bloody parade of boys. It was no compromise, no easy fix like the restrictions you’d been putting on yourself that you now realised were futile. The murderer and the victim simply could not coexist.
Fate was a hungry carnivore, and it had been promised a meal. One human life. The only question was: who would it be? You or Mark?
Before you could stop yourself, you turned the blade to your own throat. You made the fatal cut.
“Y/n, no!”
You could see that Mark was screaming, but the sound of his voice was muffled to your ears, getting quieter as you slipped into the abyss.
It would be lying to say that you didn't feel horror at the void you were about to enter. But beneath all of this was a full-throated joy at the fact that you had saved the one boy that meant the most to you.
You focused on Mark's face: terrified, glowing, beautiful, as everything faded.

URGENT--HELP NEEDED ONCE MORE
The board of trustees filed their 20 day notice to the Vermont AG on June 26, and the AG’s office has given us no real indication that they are taking our complaints about the BoT’s malfeasance seriously.
We need to once more flood their offices. Make them feel pressured to investigate these criminals.
You can find out more at remakegoddard.org as well as donate to help them pursue actions against the board of trustees.
The main Vermont AG office:
(802) 828-3171 [ext. 3]
Other AG relevant numbers and emails at the bottom of the post
Complaints (you can pick one to focus on or pick multiple, but these are the primary concerns right now):
Goddard College’s Board of Trustees have flagrantly violated their fiduciary duties, the established bylaws of Goddard College, and the nonprofit standards of Vermont through the following actions:
1. The Board of Trustees has been operating well below its minimum quorum, in secret, often excluding all but the executive members and the president. On the rare occasions when it has held an open (Zoom) meeting it has not allowed meeting attendees to enter into conversation or even see and communicate with each other.
2. In 2023 the administration contracted with CORE Education Services, a Public Benefit Corporation out of Virginia that specializes in “college transformation.” At this point, the people named as Goddard College’s CFO, Comptroller, head of HR, head of admissions, and head of marketing all work for CORE, not for Goddard. Outsourcing of these essential leadership positions is highly irregular for an institution of higher education and not in alignment with Goddard's mission and guiding principles.
3. Rejecting, damaging and/or ignoring options to increase financial sustainability of the college. A few examples:
A) Staff member Alisha Raby and alumnx George Darling worked together to create and donate apparel and other merchandise for sale by Goddard, to be provided for zero upfront cost, yet the administration refused this gift that could have raised tens of thousands of dollars.
B) A parent of a current student offered a donation of $50,000 to help keep the school running, and provost Noah Coborn refused it on behalf of the administration.
C) Staff members created a plan via which the college could raise funds hosting events and engaging in community partnerships that make use of often vacant property.
D) The administration cut off access to the college by alumni, the most likely donors as well as those most likely to write bequests, by making an enemy out of the Goddard Alumni association. Dan Hocoy, soon after his hiring as president despite community objections, canceled the alumni reunion on campus even as people had already signed up for it, paid, and made their travel plans. He then subsequently threatened to sue the elected board members of the alumni association (which was started by and given official status by the college) for using the college name.
E) The National Labor Relations Board ruled on August 24, 2022 that the College violated labor laws when dissolving the Development Office and laying off all of the employees of that Office.
All of these actions combined with the antilabor practices delineated below and the abandonment of any recruitment or donor cultivation efforts ensured that the college would have streams of revenue except tuition.
5. A complete lack of transparency including:
A few days before announcing the closure of Goddard’s campus the board sent out an email asking for ideas on how to keep Goddard sustainable. Considering that they would have had no time to properly consider contributed ideas, it’s clear that this request was never genuine.
The faculty and staff found out about the closure of the campus at the same time as the students, in what I have been told is a clear breach of contract. The same happened with the announcement of the closure of the school.
Students, faculty and staff alike were told that going online-only was simply an “experiment” to see whether it would improve Goddard’s financial situation, and the administration also said (in writing) that in-person residencies would be reconsidered in the following year. As such, new students were actively being accepted to Goddard that very semester. Yet mere months later the board announced it would be closing the school at the end of the semester. So the notion that it was simply an experiment appears to have been a lie, or they would have waited to analyze the full data from said experiment. Unless there was serious negligence, there’s simply no way they could have miscalculated their financial sustainability so much that within mere months they would go from believing they could run the college for a few more years (even if it had to be online-only) to believing they had to close at the end of the current semester.
The “experimental” closure of the campus apparently resulted from a survey that had been conducted where a majority of students expressed preference for online-only. However, the results of the poll may have been skewed, considering that one of Goddard’s campuses had been closed and the remaining campus for those students was across the country, leaving questionable data as to whether online-only was genuinely “preferred”. Additionally, many students were unaware of this poll in the first place.
6. The board has misrepresented teach-out options to students, providing false information about available alternatives and obstructing their ability to make informed decisions about their academic futures. They falsely presented schools as teach-out options that, when contacted, informed students that no such agreements were in place. They did not facilitate financial aid reimbursement when they failed to fulfill their obligations. They did not provide teach-outs for all programs, not in degree type or subject. They attempted to send students to for-profit and non-accredited schools. They refused to assist students who offered to facilitate teach-out outreach, and provided no point of contact for students.
7. They have ignored serious purchase offers from potential buyers, such as Cooperation Vermont. CVT is an organization dedicated to using the campus as a center that would have benefited Vermont in myriad ways including working with former faculty, staff, and students to keep the Goddard spirit and programs alive. Yet CVT received months of radio silence from the administration, which delayed any meaningful progress on its ability to negotiate effectively.
8. Union-breaking behavior. Two semesters ago the staff went on strike for around thirty days. After the first week and a half or so, the board threatened that if the staff did not stop striking within a very small allotted window they would lose access to their health care benefits. This threat was followed through, and the staff only recovered their health care once a new contract was settled.
9. The Board has as of this moment not guaranteed severance for the faculty despite their legal obligation to provide it.

📢 I just came up with the most devasting Wolf359 AU today and you're all gonna hear about it. 🚀
My brain really chose VIOLENCE coming up with this AU on father's day.
Here is the set up: the crew gets themselves into a stalemate with Cutter and Pryce that lasts a REALLY long time. The crew can't make it to Earth without getting blown up, but Cutter and Pryce can't get what they need from the crew without gambling too much. The stalemate lasts a long time. Like a REALLY long time, at least a decade. And this is when Cutter decides to play dirty. Well, dirtier than usual, even for him.
Basically, Cutter finds Anne (Doug's daughter), and very much appeals to her the same way he appealed to Miranda, through showing her support, promising her a way to help her disability and make her even "greater" and praising her potential and accomplishment in spite of the adversity she's suffered. He also connects with her via speeches about how his (Cutter's) father never saw the potential in him either. Cutter becomes a sort of mentor to Anne under the guise of "oh look this nice science man is tutoring deaf kids. What a philanthropist!". If we want to go really dark, Cutter has Kate and the rest of Anne's family killed in a terrible accident and adopts her, but he could also just be a mentor to Anne. Either way, she ends up trusting him, and seeing him as more of a father to her than Doug, and starts growing bitter about what Doug did to her and believes that he doesn't care about her at all (Anne thinks he never called, wrote home, or anything, and Cutter stages a whole thing where Anne finds some fake recording he made to make it sound like Doug never cared about her at all so that Cutter can come in and fake comfort her).
Anyway, flash forward through the decades long stalemate between Cutter and the Hephaestus crew, and now Anne's a college student who works for Goddard Futuristics (she's considered one of the higher ups/part of Cutter's inner circle). Like Miranda has her glow in the dark eyes and night vision, Anne has specially made hearing aids created by Goddard Futuristics that allow her to hear whisperers on the other side of the ship and very subtle sounds. Anne's relationship with Pryce and Cutter would be interesting. I can see Pryce being jealous of her (for obvious reasons not to mention that fact that she gets Cutter's attention), but I can also see Pryce finding common ground with her since they have similar backstories that Cutter can't relate to (though Pryce would deny it and whenever Cutter refers to Anne as their little girl, she rolls her eyes and say something along the lines of "for the last time, I'm not playing house with you, Marcus. She's a tool. Like the rest of them."). If Pryce did go with the common ground route, it would be interesting to see if they ever ended up ganging up on Cutter for any reason (I think they'd do this if they were both mad at Hera and Doug at the same time and insisted on making decisions based on this anger), and whether Cutter would find this alliance amusing and endearing or threatening.
But back to the story. So Anne works for Goddard Futuristics now, and the anger she has towards her father has led her to buy into Cutter's philosophy of survival of the strongest, immortality/new bodies, a better future, all of it (though obviously Cutter is lying to her about some stuff because...well he's Cutter, he lies to everyone). So Doug and the crew finally have a show down with their enemies after over a decade in space and who shows up to torture them but Anne. Doug doesn't even recognize her at first, because she's an adult now, but when he does, he's devasted. Anne doesn't believe he's sorry about what he did and insists that this is what she wants now and that Cutter has been a better father to her than Doug ever could be. The crew becomes very conflicted because while they were prepared to fight Cutter and Pryce, nobody wants to kill Anne because despite what she's done, she's Doug's daughter (which is what Cutter was counting on).
Anyway, flash even more forward to Anne discovering recordings that prove her father cares about her and that Cutter is a horrible person, and she eventually breaks down and flips sides. I don't think Pryce would be sad to see her go, and if she was, she'd either get over it, or get angry at Anne for her "betrayal". Cutter might also have more complicated feels by that point if Anne reminds him of Pryce, and I could see him trying to force her to stay. Also at one point, Anne's special hearing aids break, and that's when she discovers that Doug learned sign language for her, just in case he ever got the chance to see her again.
Anyway, feel free to lmk what you think!

while researching maryland dinosaurs for work i found out that there are a weird amount of nodosaur fossils here and i am beside myself with emotions for two notable fossils of very young nodosaurs
this tiny hatchling was found in college park and the whole fossil is only 13 centimeters long. even with the other half of its body it would've have fit in my hands, at only just a foot long. this is the youngest nodosaur ever found, and was so young it was likely still confined to its nest and the immediate area around it. this poor hatchling was under a year of age when it was likely swept from in or around its nest by a flood and immediately buried by silt, belly up, leaving the impressions of its armored forehead that had yet to grow many of the characteristic osteoderms of adult nodosaurs. there are preserved footprints of hatchlings the exact same size found very close to the body, possibly the footprints of siblings or even the same individual. the size of it has me continually imagining holding it, this guy was so small and so young. i want to hold that little splayed out hand.
there's also a fantastic cretaceous trackway that was found outside the goddard space center, and though the highlight is how many mammals are present and almost my entire thing is early mammals and trace fossils i am most enamored with the nodosaur tracks. some of the tracks may be the smallest ankylosaurian tracks ever found. they're present with a much larger adult, perhaps of the same taxa, perhaps even a parent. the one print that really gets me is the singular adult nodosaur print in the whole trackway, which has a baby's footprint inside of it, just slightly deformed to suggest that it slipped in its parent's footprint. 110 million years ago a kid slipped in the mud trying to keep up with it parent.
references and more pics for those interested (i highly recommend looking at the full trackway, there's some really cool mammal and even pterosaur prints!!!):
The First Hatchling Dinosaur Reported from the Eastern United States: Propanoplosaurus marylandicus (Dinosauria: Ankylosauria) from the Early Cretaceous of Maryland, U.S.A.
Little nodosaur fossil found in College Park
New dinosaur species named from hatchling fossil donated to National Museum of Natural History
A diverse mammal-dominated, footprint assemblage from wetland deposits in the Lower Cretaceous of Maryland
Spectacular dinosaur stomping grounds discovered just outside D.C.
#every fossil i ever see or hold i always wonder what their life was like as an individual and these ones just really got to me#how was your life little one. for however long or short you lived. we know so much but also so little about you#dinosaurs

Hey! I have been reading about ND and loa for a while. Finally decided to apply it but then everything got so confusing. It feels so easy and calm when im reading but when I apply i keep getting triggered or stressed out by 3D stuff. For example: Do I just sit and do nothing and manifest me graduating my dream college?
But then since 3D shows my old state i’m still experiencing failed version. So like i need to think about plans to take care of myself and survive in my 3D. But at the same time, i don’t wanna do that i just wanna revise things and i will be in a different place.
It almost feels like as if I need to be in a two place at the same time. One for taking care of my body in 3D one for staying to true to my desired state. But this kinda feels stressful too. I kept changing my desires based on what I experience in 3D. Plus i can indecisive sometimes. When i ask this question most bloggers says but you’re just an awareness chill, yes cool i get it but let’s be real most of us have needs in 3D. Like basic needs food, place to stay and money etc. I wanna manifest them yk. In easy and simple way. How do I balance everything? How do you do it? I know i am an awareness and this human experience is nothing but still that doesn’t change the fact that im still being human and having needs.
Sorry for a long ask i didn’t think this would be this long. but thanks for helping <333
ND isn't actually a method to manifest, it's not something to be lumped in with LOA. I'll answer this time but I prefer not to answer questions so purely focused on "manifesting" which have nothing to do with ND.
It feels so easy and calm when im reading but when I apply i keep getting triggered or stressed out by 3D stuff. For example: Do I just sit and do nothing and manifest me graduating my dream college?
Because you take it to be real. If you take ego/mind/world to be real, then you can't just do nothing to get what you want. Even loa says that the 3D has nothing to do with reality because it's all a projection of your mind.
But then since 3D shows my old state i’m still experiencing failed version. So like i need to think about plans to take care of myself and survive in my 3D
No, you decided you are experiencing a failed version so then it keeps showing you a failed version, it's not your old state, it's your current state. Who is the 'I' who needs to take care of themselves and survive in the physical reality?
It almost feels like as if I need to be in a two place at the same time. One for taking care of my body in 3D one for staying to true to my desired state. But this kinda feels stressful too. I kept changing my desires based on what I experience in 3D. Plus i can indecisive sometimes. When i ask this question most bloggers says but you’re just an awareness chill, yes cool i get it but let’s be real most of us have needs in 3D.
Even Neville Goddard says "The undisciplined mind finds it difficult to assume a state which is denied by the senses." Based on your questions, you don't actually understand ND or LOA. You dont understand the LOA fundamentals which tell you not to place any reality on 3D nor have you detached from ego/body/mind to understand your true self.
How do I balance everything? How do you do it? I know i am an awareness and this human experience is nothing but still that doesn’t change the fact that im still being human and having needs.
No, you read about being awareness and then decided that was your own knowledge but it won't be until you have your own realization of that fundamental truth, as evident by your saying 'I'm still human' - you aren't. This is the danger of just reading endlessly and never going within to understand it for yourself - you take what you read to be your own knowledge but you don't awaken from the dream just from reading. Your true self is beyond intellect and mind.
Know who/what you are and the questions will answer themselves. But to come from a LOA perspective, this post might help you.
The truth is, no matter how much they bark or even bite, the conditions of our physical realities don’t matter in the slightest with regards to the actuality of what we imagine. Our physical realities only become our masters because somewhere along the way we agreed they were. If you’re ever going to truly create the reality you desire, it’s completely necessary to untether and break away from this hypnosis that compels you to believe your physical reality is what’s real, controls you, and has an independent authority over you.
It makes no difference to the Law whether what it produces makes your day or sinks your ship. It’s not a god choosing to withhold or provide. You (your imagination) are the authority here, but if you’re stuck in unwanted cycles and not creating what you desire, then you’ve given that authority over to your physical reality. You’ve made it your god, and under this perspective, anything you imagine can only be a pipe dream or wishful thinking, at best. If we're continually manifesting the unfulfillment of our desires, it's because we've placed authority in a "reality" that shows us they are unfulfilled. Remember, your physical reality has no authority over you; it’s just information. Treat it as such. Giving it any more meaning keeps you stuck to it, and is certain to keep the physical experience your old self created firmly in place. If ongoing unwanted conditions persist in your reality, it’s only because you persist in unwanted states in your mind. Stop allowing them! The old self has to die so the new self can live.
To avoid confusion.. you are not imagination. LOA's 'you' is imaginary, but the true You is neither imagination nor imaginary. I just shared the above excerpts because you're coming from a LOA perspective.
You can also read Realisophie's posts and 4dbarbie's posts here and here. Also read this on why manifesting desires isn't the best way to realize Self.
In the past, no matter how much I would affirm "I have no worries, no doubts - it’s literally impossible for me to have any of that." it made little change because before realizing who I really was. I was still identifying with an ego I thought I had to convince to believe that. To know who you are means you have to convince no one and no thing because the ego doesn't exist, the mind doesn't exist, the doubts you are affirming against are made up (they have no existence outside of you). The only thing that is is Self.
^ Until you actually know this for yourself, manifesting will always be some sort of struggle.
Again this is not a LOA blog so I kindly ask you all not to send any more questions so focused on this, there's plenty of LOA blogs out there you can send these questions to.
