It's so funny to me that Babe is supposed to be this super stoic mysterious dude then Charlie comes around and he's like "Here's my apartment key. Can I see you after work? Meet up for drinks later?" They fuck like 6 times in the first episode. And the second Charlie threatens to not follow him around like a puppy babe immediately folds. Zero fuckin spine. Charlie just has to pout for 0.0006 seconds and Babe is tripping over himself to fix it

what's fun about shipping Tim with Dick, Jason, or Damian is he has, at some point, hallucinated all of them to comfort himself. even when he doesn't like them or particularly get along with them, he has to imagine/hallucinate them just so he has the power to go on. Tim's concepts of the Robin mantle and what it should be is so fun, because he respects the others through the Robin mantle. Tim worships Dick because he was the first Robin. he wouldn't be Robin if Jason hadn't died in the mantle. and a lot of his frustration with Damian is he feels Damian isn't honoring the mantle correctly. when you ship Tim with the other Robins you can't divorce their identities as Robin from it because Tim will always see them as a Robin first and that's so fun and fucked up. like.

Tim perceiving Dick as *Robin* cheering him on, not Nightwing, which is the version of Dick that Tim actually knows? that's just. wild of him. he will always view Dick as Robin first, his personal hero but also the original of the legacy. his love for Dick is shaped by that.

and then of course, even when he's hallucinating/imagining Jason cheering him on, it's *still* through the lense of being reminded how Jason failed? subconsciously believing that Jason got himself killed because of his actions, and that being a lesson for Tim to learn from? Jason isn't a person to Tim, he's a moral lesson about how to be Robin. any potential idolization he could have of Jason isn't because he loves Jason, it's because of the lessons Jason's death taught him.

and then, even though him hallucinating TIm is from the New-52, which makes characterization all kinds of questionable, i do think it makes sense for TIm to hallucinate/imagine Damian after Damian's death in an attempt to cope with it.

teen titans (2011) #18

to an extend, he sees Damian's death as in part his own fault. and even hating Damian, Tim needs the comfort from this to cope with Damian being gone. he's angry that Damian even was Robin, and has to learn something from Damian's death and how it impacts the Robin mantle, and teenage heroes as a whole. like, Tim can pretend he hates Damian all he wants, even getting taunted by the image of Damian, but there's still an underlying love to their relationship.

i think that's just the fun of shipping Tim with any of them. you will never divorce Tim's views of them from the Robin mantle and how fucking Unwell he is about anyone else who's been Robin before or after him, to the point he has to hallucinate them comforting him when he's at his lowest. it's always going to be a little unhealthy, a little toxic, and driven by Tim's relationship with being Robin as well. i need more Tim being weird about Robin in these ships.

don't read burn my soul. akito reaches rad weekend levels with his singing Because he's trying to express his gratitude to ken for giving him his dream and for being his role model for all these years - and then he starts funneling all of his love for toya, an, and kohane and vivid street and music itself into his singing and it unlocks that level of performing inside him. you know how i've been saying forever that akito's constant doubts and insecurities are what's holding him back, not any actual lack of ability? after 3 years of events, ken and luka finally get this through his head. he finally has full confidence in his music. he finally fucking understands that the thing he needs to focus on while singing is not "i need to get better so i don't get left behind" he knows he needs to think about the actual emotions he wants to express with his music he's FINALLY learned how to RELAX and sing from his heart.

and then during his final performance of the event he (re)lights the fire in kotaro's heart and gives him the courage to try pursuing music again, and to rejoin vivid bad squad in surpassing rad weekend. you know, paralleling the way rad weekend gave akito new life after he quit soccer and started giving up on the world.

not to mention it turns out taiga's ass kicking in light up the fire dampened the morale of all of vivid street. everyone was starting to lose their deeper love for music. no one was as excited anymore. no one believed there could be something greater than rad weekend, so why... bother? and then akito's performance sets EVERYONE'S asses on fire, not just kotaro's. he singlehandedly breathes new life and passion into vivid street. it gave him a lifeline when he needed it most, and now he's in a position where he can return the favor. and he does.

yeah. life-ruining. all of it. i died lots and lots and lots. save yourselves.

There was a post I saw about someone who mutually ghosted a guy after a date and kept matching with him and they're not interested but it's the longest "relationship" the person had been in at that point and I'm like. Karen would mutually ghost someone.

She doesn't really tell Brent/Right/Evelyn/Chris his name (he has a double first name, Patrick is not his last name) and just refers to him as "My Guy". Like "Ah damn, My Guy matched again. End my suffering." And when she tries to explain it to Right who does NOT understand how it's different, her logical answer is "it's my God given right to ghost a polite man!"

Also I just imagine her confiding in Paul about Rick and he's like "is his name Patrick" and she's like "kinda". And after that, Paul calls him "Pattycakes" cause he's never even seen the guy so why not give him a funny little nickname. He's allowed to do so at this point probably.

I love sunshine Dick, but I love it mostly because of the horror potential

He's ethereal, smells sweet, he's warm and kind and his smile is the sun after a long winter, but there's something about him that makes you feel in danger, like something wicked and non-human is looking at your soul

He's your older brother, the guy who gives you a good night kiss on your forehead, but the horrors lurking around Gotham fear him like he's something worse, like his ethereal face and gentle smile are a bait to attract his prey, again, he's your older brother, but also the eldritch under your bed

He's really a good person, a sweet little guy, but his vibe is a biblically acurate angel telling you B̶̮̹̓͆ë̷̩̰́̑ ̴͙̓̆n̴̛̖̥o̴̱̒ť̷̹̽ ̶͎̆a̴̮͘f̷͈͗͗ȑ̷̬͒a̶̺̗̕͝ȋ̴̍ͅḍ̵̀̌

Dick Grayson's vibe is like... okay, you know those scenes where the villain dies, and as he does, he sees the ethereally beautiful woman he has been comitting atrocities for? His eyes widen, and he even has tears in them, and he smiles so wide it's like his mouth is going to split open? And then just as the vision fades he meets a horrific demise? Dick is that moment in human form.

Of Ethics, Values, Morality and Such

I've always found fascination in the meanings of words, and applying such meanings to characters in the ways that they might think or do things.

For one example, one meaning of ethics is 'the discipline dealing with what is good and bad with moral duty and obligation'. Which I feel in some ways defines Neri's understands of what 'being a good person' is to her. A strong sense of duty and obligation;- she considers morality and the acts of being humane to others around her as not only something she believes in - but something she has to do. It's a key factor of her role as a combat medic. Not only that - constantly mimicking and reflecting what her father has taught her.

There are all sorts of fascinating psychologies around moral, immoral, amoral; Neri definitely falls into the categories of being a moral person. She understands right from wrong. She feels a great sense of anxieties and shame if she does something that she knows wouldn't be what she considers the right thing. And exploring that a little more;-

Whilst what Neri values stubbornly don't tend to change too much - her morality and especially her pacifism can be prone to flexibility. There's already been evidence enough of that when Neri slapped someone because she believed they were being an abusive twat. In that, it could be defined a little more as 'I will not hurt or use violence against others'; until they give me no other choice to do so. Usually, 'no other choice' is when her loved ones are in danger. Other times, this is a matter of self preservation. Neri doesn't want to die, because there's still too much to do, and it would be a domino effect. More people would die because of her death.

Neri in herself has always been an interesting writing dynamic with the different layers of what is just and right, what needs to be done, how much can you live with if you veer away what you've adamantly said you believe in. She is painfully aware - which is where most of the Xanxus/Neri conflicts come from - that even if she's backed into a corner or might have well-meaning reasons to break her pacifism or moral standings - it still makes her a hypocrite. She resorted to being just like everyone else. She made herself a liar.

But what's the worst outcome, really? To become what you've always feared and hated yourself? Is it really worth holding onto everything you've said that you were, if it means the people you love will have to suffer or disappear entirely for it?
