It‘s the beginning of spring and Molly is working hard on getting her garden ready. She wants to live off the land until she can afford the money for getting electricity and plumbing renewed.

For this spring, she is starting with carrots, onions and potatoes. Maybe she can make a good bargain in the village? Molly plans on going there on the weekend to give herself some time off as well. For now, the land is calling and she is more than willing to listen.

She has freed her cottage from some overgrown plants as well so maybe - once the sun has gained some strength - she will be able to enjoy the first warm rays with a good tea or book.

I recently bought this vintage rabbit tapestry, partially stitched, with the intention of completing it. I ended up carefully unpicking all the wool stitches because it smelt extremely musty indicating it hadn’t been stored correctly, plus I thought some of the detail had been lost (I was right) & I wanted to have matching dyelots of the wools. A few days of work & it’s ready to be re-stitched. I also unpicked a mountain tapestry my mum started before I was born.

I plan to do the bunnies using DMC soft shiny cotton. The mountains I will do as a beaded tapestry.

Authentic German Quarkbällchen

Quarkbällchen (German Doughnuts) are an traditional fried snack from Germany. They are especially popular during Oktoberfest and of course New Year's Eve.

Ingredients:

250 grams of flour

250 grams of cottage cheese

100 grams of sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 sachet of vanilla sugar

½ teaspoon of salt

Sunflower oil

Preparation:

Step 1:

Heat the deep fryer to 180 °C.

Step 2:

Put the flour together with the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and the baking powder in a bowl and mix it together.

Step 3:

Add the cottage cheese and the eggs and stir quickly until smooth. The batter remains quite thick so that you can easily scoop it out of the bowl.

Step 4:

Scoop small amounts of batter from the bowl with two tablespoons and form round balls by adding the batter from one spoon to the other before slowly lowering them into the hot oil. Do not fry too many balls at once otherwise the oil will cool down too much. Fry the quark balls for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. They will turn over by themselves but if they do not you can carefully turn them over with a spoon.

NOTE:

You make them with baking powder so they don't have to rise! Quarkbällchen are also very tasty if you roll them in some cinnamon sugar after baking. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the sugar for this.

Once again I’m thinking of the unfortunate Snow White LA. I genuinely thought they canceled the movie. Wait for a new actress. One who is -better- suited. One who did not hate on Snow and “wants to change” her for whatever reason.

they should have scrapped the movie completely. I’ve seen gifs of the trailer and it looks bad.

you would think Disney would do better considering Snow White is what gave Disney life. Bc without there’s nothing. And yet she’s getting so incredibly disrespected by poor management.

and no I’ll never not be salty about this. They could have -tried- . Snows the first princess, first full animated film. And they couldnt find an actress who didn’t hate on the character they’re suppose to play. I’m still mad about that too.
