In Gillion’s mind, he still doesnt know his place in the world but chip? Chip knows his place, and Gillion doesnt want to disrupt that. To Gillion, Chip is freer than a bird. Chip is the most free being that Gillion has ever met, and he doesnt want to ruin that, doesnt want to chain him down.

And Chip? Chip doesnt believe that he deserves to have someone like Gillion. Gillion is pure, with a heart of gold and a destiny laid out for him whether he chooses to follow it or not. He’s important enough for the gods themselves to write poems about him. And Chip’s just. Chip. No family, no destiny, no godly poems. He doesnt want to spoil Gillion, in the weird, fucked up way that Chip always seems to spoil relationships.

They will always take comfort in their friendship, and i think they do both want more, but neither would ever let themselves have it :(

So i got to thinking about Ford and Bill being similar due to fanfic reasons (i was brainstorming ideas about them fucking in the middle of thinking about this),and i realized that,the parallels are fucking wild. Both of them have something holding them back from becoming truly far gone in their ambitions. With Bill's being his self hatred and horrid loneliness,and Ford's being his unwavering value for his family. Bill would've fully went through with Weirdmaggedon and his desire to conquer the universe immediately,if he wasn't so fucking desperate to have Ford at his side,showing that he wanted someone REAL to witness his success rather than the fake puppets that he calls his friends aka the Henchmaniacs. Point being,Bill wanted to be on top,but as they all say,it's lonely at the top,so he decided to make himself less lonely by trying to coerce Ford into joining him which obviously backfired due to the man hating his guts. Ford would've joined Bill and or outright stayed in the multiverse rather than going back to his home dimension as he basks in the glory of FINALLY being worshipped and given the recognition he believed he deserved (despite likely being more infamous than famous in both cases),but he didn't,because he knew that he had his brother and later the twins to worry about. Ford was horrible and egotistical and too selfishly focused on his flimsy desires to think straight,but he had his family to back him up and make him realize that what he was doing was wrong. But Bill?,he had no one to help him realize his faults. He killed his parents,and his so called "friends" are only around because of being promised a party as well as safety from their decaying dimension (i.e book of bill Henchmaniacs segment). Bill was horribly alone and had NO ONE to help him deal with his problems in a more constructive less world-ending way,Ford had his family right in front of him yet he ignored them until things went to shit and he realized that he needed them. Bill and Ford are eerily similar with their shared interest in chasing lofty goals in order to make up for the aching feeling of loneliness and being misunderstood they have had their whole lives,yet one was able to overcome this feeling and discovered that he didn't need to feel seen by the whole world but just by his family whereas the other outright held onto that feeling to motivate himself as he didn't have anything else. Meaning,Ford would have easily turned out like Bill if Stan and his niblings didn't have his back. Alex hirsch you wonderful,wonderful man. This family is beautifully written and i am in tears over that fact. Also Bill and Ford are fucking husbands and the resemblances in their arcs are uncanny.

One thing that’s so interesting to me about the comic vs the movie is the restaurant scene and before it. In the comics, Ambrosius has to call Ballister to state his intentions and ask if they can meet up, to CONVINCE HIM, and to make sure Ballister is going to come

In the movie, Ambrosius messages him something that’s like an inside joke, something only the both of them would know, which is just nachos, and Bal knows exactly what he means the second he sees the message, barely even thinks about it, and Ambrosius had just enough hope and faith that Bal WOULD and meet him up with just that and Bal DID, and they probably hadn’t spent that much time apart from each other in forever, and they just wanted to see each other again after everything so badly

I also want to mention the different reactions to reaching out to Bal’s right hand. Because comic Ambrosius was sorry but didn’t show it very well, and the pain wasn’t as fresh, but it was a shock and he PULLED AWAY very quickly, because he didn’t expect it, but you could tell he was still SORRY because deep down he knew it was his fault and his actions that caused Ballister to lose his arm

Meanwhile, movie Ambrosius knew exactly what would happen when he reached out to Bal’s hand, and he held it softly and squeezed it and said he was SORRY because the regret was immediate, and the circumstances were different, and movie Ambrosius didn’t have as much time to dwell on the “it was just an accident” aspect and his vision was “being trained like that is not an excuse” vs “blowing his arm off was an accident and not my fault” (when in reality it was a haze and adrenaline infused decision)(movie version actually had a very similar format to that but very different circumstances)

Even though seeing you with that asshole makes me so angry I can barely see straight.” “James,” Regulus mutters, almost like a warning, one final attempt at stopping him, stopping this.  Both of them know it’s futile.  “You got what you wanted,” James says lowly, his grip on Regulus’ chin shifting until his palm of hand is pressed at the front of Regulus’ throat, fingers digging into his jaw and tilting his head forcefully to the side. When he grazes the corners of Regulus’ mouth with a teasing caress, the younger boy opens it automatically, gaze dark and expectant. Always so good for James. “Now it’s my turn.”

thinking about how their personalities counterbalance each other (lando's 24/7 hyperactivity or nervous energy vs. oscar being the least flappable guy on the planet). but how they can bring the other to laugh and giggle and just be happy without even trying.

thinking about how they are NEVER dressed for the same weather. lando always overdressed and oscar barely ever seen to be wearing something that isn't a tshirt and shorts.

and (still) thinking about the green-red colour coding for them. how the contrast there wasn't even intentional. how the two colours combined make papaya. somehow they're different but the same.

Forever thinking about Jayce leaving Mel's after their night, going to the lab and finding Viktor unconscious on the floor, blood on the console. Not even knowing how long he'd been like that.

The guilt Jayce must have felt because he probably thought his partner was dead and he hadn't been there for him.

Jayce getting help and then being told Viktor's fate. Him crying next to his partners bed again full of guilt he wasn't there. That there's nothing he can do. Since they met he's tried to help V, he forged the crutch and the brace for him.

Part of me wishes they'd shown it (or not cut Jayce crying by the bed) but part of me is glad it's left up to our imagination on what that moment must have been like for Jayce.
