Worked on this late last night lol…here’s my take on the A pokemon...I tried to mimic the logo style but it went a bit off than expected.

Sonic Literally Collects Rings Part 2

So recently Sonic X Shadow Generations the line where Tails and Classic Tails are talking about rings was changed. This has lead many people into thinking rings are not literal and merely a gameplay mechanic. This however, is not the case.

Now a possible reason for this line change is probably because it doesn't make sense for Tails to question where Sonic keeps his rings since he also collects and stores rings himself. This also doesn't negate any mention of rings in other instances. In my previous post I mentioned we see rings in Sonic Mania Adventures and Sonic Prime, but there is more examples.

In Sonic Frontiers in Big's Fishing Sections you can fish up an art ring. The Fish-o-pedia mentions they have aided Sonic before.

While possibly being canon or just soft canon, in The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog Sonic mentions being out of rings from his previous adventure and needing to collect rings to get faster and be able to bust through the door. Keep a pin in this.

In Sonic Rivals 2 there characters such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Silver and Espio have in game dialogue about needing to collect rings for various reasons. Rouge and Knuckles need rings to fuel an emerald detector, while Silver and Espio need rings to power Silver's ESP powers. Keep a pin in this.

In Sonic Generations there is a mission involving Cream and collecting rings which is acknowledged in universe.

Also, in a previous post I mentioned in Sonic Twitter Takeover #5 - All Answers Eggman mentions having Shadow pay him in rings. After this Sonic mentions he can't go Super without rings. This is further backed up by the dialogue in Sonic Adventure 2's final boss fight where Sonic and Shadow are talking about needing rings to maintain their Super Forms.

In Shadow The Hedgehog Tails is at Circus Park which he says was built by rings Eggman has taken from around the world, and he askes Shadow to help him collect said rings. In addition during the Egg Dealer boss fight you can make Eggman drop rings which he acknowledges.

Finally in games like Sonic Heroes and Sonic 06 characters like Tails can drop Dummy Rings to trick others into thinking they dropped real rings to get them to touch said rings and take damage.

So back to the pins, so it seems like we have an answer to what rings are used for in universe. Sonic mentions he needs rings to get faster and fast enough to break down a door. This would mean while Sonic is really fast the higher speeds we see him run at is only possible due to the rings. Him also needing to get faster to break down a door would mean by default he needs to be well stronger. While not fully explain the inconsistencies of it, this would explain why Sonic in Sonic Prime is struggling in fights when we are used to him not struggling. Because he is out of rings which he acknowledges. This would explain why the Fish-O-Pedia mentions them aiding Sonic. But it also seems like rings make characters faster and stronger in general, this is because Silver need them to power up his esp powers. This would imply in general characters collect rings as a means to get faster, stronger, and fuel any special powers they have. Also, because they are needed to fuel Super Forms might imply they are connected to Chaos energy in some way. Separately they also seem to be used to power machines as well. Finally the usage of rings to buy objects is literal as confirmed by Tails and Eggman.

"Solar remained the EU's fastest-growing power source in 2024, rising above coal for the first time. Wind power remained the EU's second-largest power source, above gas and below nuclear." Overall, strong growth in solar and wind have boosted the share of renewables to 47 percent, up from 34 percent in 2019. Fossil fuels have fallen from 39 to 29 percent.

The star metaphors for Shadow are never-ending. He is a star himself in every sense of the word. Constantly burning with this immense, unstable energy. His quills are always raised in the shape of a star.

When his inhibitors come off, the energy is released wildly. Without them, Shadow would keep expending energy like a star burning itself out and what happens when a star is burnt out? A supernova.

At any time Shadow is capable of creating a cataclysmic explosion like this, but only as a last resort as it would bring an end to him too.

I think about the inhibitors themselves a lot and what they must feel like to Shadow. Almost like chains, but they are an unfortunate necessity in stabilizing his Chaos Energy, lest it eat him up from within.

I feel if the project was not shut down, and GUN was not breathing down his neck, then Gerald would have found a way to stabilize Shadow without the inhibitors.

i think i'm well within my right to criticize such a thing in fact, anon. i dont think i ever spoke of policing anyone who enjoyed it- i cant stop anyone from liking it but it makes me viscerally uncomfortable and i avoid interacting with it. i think you're misreading what i said, i didnt mean ALL TYPES OF VORE are cool and we should do what we want forever, because uh. we shouldn't. like the people who swallow live animals whole, or the people who sexualize and draw fetish work of real life people without their consent, and incestuous/underage vore content. please don't twist my words into implying i'm willing to excuse anything under the vore umbrella

you shouldnt police someone for liking digestion when you don't, no! but there's a line in the sand you have to draw where certain things become unacceptable and thats where that line is drawn. even in a safe, wholesome, nonsexual context...you have to acknowledge that power dynamic is very creepy and can make people VERY uncomfortable, esp when it has been used to groom people. its something i feel is better left alone- i can think of a dozen different ways to protect a baby than swallowing them whole. as always i just ask people to like. put it in perspective. think of how that comes off to others, think of why it's as controversial as it is, and think about why its commonly banned from a lot of vore spaces. it gets way too close to incestuous material for most people's comfort in a nonsexual setting and in a fetish setting thats downright unlawful.
