Notes on Fortel:

Although this previous ask was semi-dodged as par for course for the character, I did wish to share some notes regarding Lady Helia’s home planet!

Fortel is located in a sister system to that of Pop star’s within the Gamble Galaxy. It has captured the hearts of bards with its verdant mountains and valleys, and the curiosity of scholars with its wealth of ancient ruins, being one of the few civilizations that had survived the great darkness of millennia past.

Ancient Fortian society was recorded to be akin to a premonition-based theocracy. Great value was placed upon fulfilling one’s destined fate, and those gifted with clairvoyant abilities were highly regarded and expected to lead their people so that they may fulfil as such.

Today, with much of its history having faded to legend, Fortel remains a popular tourist destination for its sights.

Watching Crossing Jordan because I made a plan to watch all of Kathryn Hahns work (I often do this when I suddenly fall in love with a character and their actor lol) and I just noticed this!

It’s not the clearest photo because I had to take a photo of my laptop screen but… 2001 was already foreshadowing! Her second tv show giving a glimpse into (currently) her most successful one.

Hi there! I use an app called Fortelling! It doesn't have the most tools, but it has all the essentials and is COMPLETELY FREE! You can get it on Android, iOS, and the web! I use it on my phone because it's easiest for me to plot/worldbuild/write when I'm laying down <3

Fortelling is an app for writers that allows you to work on worldbuilding. My friend showed it to me, we can all put our characters into it and it has plenty of description options so we can all flesh out our characters.

It also has a whole timeline feature, so we can start to make sense of our own lore!

I feel like if we start to use it, we can totally start collaborating and catching up on each others’ lore and characters.

If you are interested, DM me! I can tell you how to access my project that I just started. If you decide not to join, please just be weary that your characters might end up on it anyways, since it could affect the timeline. We won’t use them for anything, just to put in the timeline so we don’t miss anything :)

so. okay. in a lot of our beautiful Lady Helia's artwork, we know she's the only puffball out there, but there seem to be a lot of eggs around on Fortel. and the lovely Phemus also appears to be an egg!!

so I guess what I'm wondering, is if Phemus herself is from or has ever been to Fortel? and if she might have any fond or otherwise significant memories of her time there? 👀

I wrote yesterday.

As a person with inconsistent writing sesions and problems to actually sit and write, this is great. I love writing, and making sprints with others always helps to get the words flowing.

Yes, in that picture of the sprint there is people that wrote a lot more than me in entire months; but the important is that everyone was able to write. At their step, in different parts of the process.

Because that is it: PROCESS.

Sometimes there is entire months where I don't write anything, and sometimes a demon posses me and write +1k words in less of a day. And that is... fine, there is nothing wrong or shameful in not being a bit more consistent.

Everyone has their own and unique process.

I hope this message reaches to people that needs to know how important is writing, not even if you aren't capable to create a lot of big word counts in a consistent period.

Keep writing, write when you feel ready. It doesn't matter if after you wrote it you dislike it.

It was part of your process, and just for that is valuable.

Wanted to talk about the app I've been using to plan out my House M.D story.

Fortelling

This app is really cool if you plan stories the way I do...and by that I mean complete chaos lol.

So first we have all these cool options. Chapters are like wordpad, writing goals lets you set dates and word count goals. Timeline and events are self explanatory, but if you are like me, super helpful. Characters allow you to give a lot of information about your character that maybe you think of on the spot and aren't sure if you'll use in the story, write it down, any info could come in handy. Also character groups, which has really come in handy when working on a criminal case story lol.

Boards is something I have been using A LOT. If you are like me, you come up with random ideas for scenes or chapters but aren't sure where in the story they will fit. This allows you to create sticky notes that you can then rearrange and link once you get an idea of how you want your story to flow. They are also good to create family trees so you know how each of your characters play into the story.

Also if you want a desktop version that you can link to the mobile app as well as a few other perks it's $5 a month.

I'm not sponsored by them or anything, just wanted to share a story planner app that works well for my ADHD brain just in case anyone else plans stories the same way I do ☺️

Fortelling is the best app I have ever seen for keeping info about your OCs. And to think all the useful things aren't behind a paywall? Whoever made this app deserves all the good things in life.

ive tentatively decided to translate dc’s lack of political representation as her being enslaved since the similarities were noted even in the day

and the racial makeup of the city was, in fact, a factor in the continued denial of her right to autonomy. i’m not black nor knowledgeable on the topic enough to completely trust my judgement though so i suppose i’m asking if my interpretation is objectionable
