Watching Crossing Jordan because I made a plan to watch all of Kathryn Hahns work (I often do this when I suddenly fall in love with a character and their actor lol) and I just noticed this!
It’s not the clearest photo because I had to take a photo of my laptop screen but… 2001 was already foreshadowing! Her second tv show giving a glimpse into (currently) her most successful one.

Hi I just wanted to ask what program do you use to write the plot points? It looks cool
Hi there! I use an app called Fortelling! It doesn't have the most tools, but it has all the essentials and is COMPLETELY FREE! You can get it on Android, iOS, and the web! I use it on my phone because it's easiest for me to plot/worldbuild/write when I'm laying down <3
Here's their website!

I wrote yesterday.
As a person with inconsistent writing sesions and problems to actually sit and write, this is great. I love writing, and making sprints with others always helps to get the words flowing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, in that picture of the sprint there is people that wrote a lot more than me in entire months; but the important is that everyone was able to write. At their step, in different parts of the process.
Because that is it: PROCESS.
Sometimes there is entire months where I don't write anything, and sometimes a demon posses me and write +1k words in less of a day. And that is... fine, there is nothing wrong or shameful in not being a bit more consistent.
Everyone has their own and unique process.
I hope this message reaches to people that needs to know how important is writing, not even if you aren't capable to create a lot of big word counts in a consistent period.
Keep writing, write when you feel ready. It doesn't matter if after you wrote it you dislike it.
It was part of your process, and just for that is valuable.

Can I recommend apps for systems? If yes, you can post it, if not, you don't need to post it.
Guys, there's an app that someone I know recommended to me that is great for systems, the name of the app is Fortelling, it's an app for making stories but it's great for systems ✨
Sure! We checked it out and that app looks pretty interesting! Not sure if we’ll use it personally because SimplyPlural covers all of our needs mostly hehe :3
But here’s the link to the app website so folks can take a look! >w<

Wanted to talk about the app I've been using to plan out my House M.D story.
Fortelling
This app is really cool if you plan stories the way I do...and by that I mean complete chaos lol.
So first we have all these cool options. Chapters are like wordpad, writing goals lets you set dates and word count goals. Timeline and events are self explanatory, but if you are like me, super helpful. Characters allow you to give a lot of information about your character that maybe you think of on the spot and aren't sure if you'll use in the story, write it down, any info could come in handy. Also character groups, which has really come in handy when working on a criminal case story lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boards is something I have been using A LOT. If you are like me, you come up with random ideas for scenes or chapters but aren't sure where in the story they will fit. This allows you to create sticky notes that you can then rearrange and link once you get an idea of how you want your story to flow. They are also good to create family trees so you know how each of your characters play into the story.
Also if you want a desktop version that you can link to the mobile app as well as a few other perks it's $5 a month.
I'm not sponsored by them or anything, just wanted to share a story planner app that works well for my ADHD brain just in case anyone else plans stories the same way I do ☺️

Fortelling is the best app I have ever seen for keeping info about your OCs. And to think all the useful things aren't behind a paywall? Whoever made this app deserves all the good things in life.

Pro tip cause this app is GREAT
Tumblr media
Works on Android and iOS
So many tools for your world-building desires
*technically* has a paid version but there's so much stuff for free that I don't see myself having to pay for it until/unless I want to publish to epub directly from the app and/or use the web version
Books, characters, locations, locations within other locations (such as cities inside countries), species, languages, items, notepads, photo gallery, Pexels integration
It's great
10/10 would recommend

If you plan on writing shit abt your ocs
DO THIS!!
I'm sure it goes without saying but I'm still gonna say it— also keep the little notes abt them sorted so you can find them
And just all the info about them
I really recommend using fortelling! If I remember correctly it does have a few paid things but it's still really fuckin' cool
Oc thought exercise
Think about what kind of opinions your oc holds. Not necessarily strictly related to lore things or even super crucial stuff, just general opinions. Like favourite animals or colors perhaps? Or least favourite things? Do they have any hot takes? Or are they a normie for their own setting in terms of opinions?
This kinda stuff, while not always directly contributing to crucial plot points, can help you round out and figure out what kind of person your character is. It can help you make little trails down to their very core, through these kinds of small facets of their character. It's also fun :)

Illari Duskfeather, and an interesting Kaldorei story.
youtube
I was snooping around Youtube and I found this. This video speaks about a Night Elf that is hostile towards the Horde AND the Alliance. Her name is Illari Duskfeather. I like her name, and I like her purpose. But she is in Season of Discovery, and Season of Discovery doesn't interest me the slightest. BUT, Illari Duskfeather DOES! In the original Vanilla World of Warcraft, Fandral Staghelm was part of the Kaldorei council in Darnassus where he was someone who spoke out AGAINST the night-elf people becoming a part of the Alliance. Here's the interesting part. Tyrande was IN AGREEMENT with Fandral, but she didn't like his reckless way of how he wanted to attack the Alliance as well as the Horde. When you play as a Night Elf and you complete all of the missions for the Night Elf starting zone--WHICH TOOK HOURS TO DO, and you then do all of the quests in Darnassus, and you go to the terrace where Fandral and his people were, the night elves tell you that they side with Fandral and how Tyrande is ignorant to trust the Alliance while her husband sleeps all day. There appeared to be a little mutiny growing against Tyrande, and those night elves didn't like Alliance and the Horde, and they wanted Kaldorei land and resources to be for the Kaldorei people. This is all cool in my opinion because this was the precursor for Fandral becoming a druid of the flame, and how so many night elves turned against Tyrande. I feel like this was interesting storytelling that set the tone for a character like Illari Duskfeather. I guess in her case, she's taking it to the extreme. <3

Man, how much I love Fortelling and the locations feature
Tumblr media
The beta of 4.0 is great, and the images display is really cool and perfect for getting all organized in one place for fast checking.
For the lore record, this is the Jardín location menu. I've made an entire list of principal sub-locations being them: Wall of time - Hush residence - Artisan's Labyrinth - Anansi's Library - Neblinous woods - Secret's greenhouse - Medic's sanctuary - Blessed's cathedral.
Send asks if you want some loredump!

Another cool thing I found on the app
Fortelling
The chapters have not only a label, but also have a section to write an outline of your chapter before you write it ❤️

Tokens I created for an app I've been using called Fortelling. Its really helpful for building worlds and managing them. It's helped improved and even translated by the users. I highly recommend it.
I'll leave a link to the site below. It's an app, but you can also use the site. It has a link to the Discord server. It's really helpful for updates and bug information. Check it out of you're curious. I've used it a lot. So feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
