Astons Specialities had this Farmers Beef Stew (S$14.80) on the menu so I decide to give it a try. Came with mashed potato and a side dish which I opted for a house salad. The beef was fork tender and the gravy robust which goes well with the creamy mashed potato. And oh, mum wasn’t hungry so she just watches me eat. :D

Yes but one of the grand things about having Finn cook for me is that I don't have to suppress my autistic need to know every little ingredient inside of a food or dish because I can just endlessly ask him the question every five minutes or as needed.

There is a very specific struggle of being a white person ordering spicy food. You have to ask yourself, is this going to be white people spicy? Mexican food spicy? Thai food spicy?

In Asian neighborhoods of California I get zero spice on anything because even their mild option kills my weak little tongue but in Utah I always ordered the spiciest thing on the menu just to get some flavor and it was always just like, buffalo sauce or something. You have to judge the comparative whiteness of the environment in order to get the correct amount of spice for your palate. It's a delicate art.

one fun thing germans and norwegians have in common is we would rather suffer in silence than openly complain. the inside lights on the bus went out half an hour ago, its almost completely dark now, several people were reading books etc and then tried to switch on their small overhead seating lights, except that none of them seem to be working. one woman is reading her magazine with a small led flashlight, i propped my phone up with the flashlight shining in my lap so i can crochet, multiple people have just given up on solutions and just put their books away to just sit in silence for the rest of the ride. not one person has gone up to the bus driver to ask if its maybe just the problem of one too many switches being off. we have over 2 more hours to go.
