fuck it. demo's going live asap

i say "fuck it" with this BECAUSE those 3 branching routes? yeah, i'm only happy with 2 of the 3 right now (ie. Magni & Thrúd), Modi's is going to take more editing and that'll take a couple more weeks at least. but i promised i would get it up this week and i want to hold true to that! i also have to go away for like 5 days this week to help my parents move, and that means i won't be getting as much work done as i would want to which would mean things would be delayed further and again: no broken promises.

BUT. mostly i just really need the feedback LMAO. the coding is very bulky and a huge pain to edit & clean up, and i know it'll be 10000x more difficult if i let it go on much longer. sorry to anyone who wanted their goth catboy waterfront meetcute, but i promise it'll be coming soon!

the demo will be 48k words, with about 15k per playthrough. i'll reshare a new post of the intro with the link as soon as its up!

More About Him: Loud and out there, Anastasius is just happy to be here. He's excitable and overly friendly, like a puppy running up to every new person it meets. He's airheaded and bubbly, laughing at the dumbest things. He gets side tracked very easily and rarely feels shame or embarrassment.

Anastasius doesn't like being alone and yearns for any kind of lasting relationship he can get, even if it hurts him in the long run. He loves easily too, often falling victim to love-at-first-sight. Anastasius is simple, personality-wise. For now, at least. I need time to develop him more.

Do you have any if recommendation?

Ooh! I have really, really bad memory(!!) but these are current faves that I have played/replayed recently that I can think of. A lot of the authors are also THE BEST HUMAN BEINGS EVER. So, double recommendation.

I probably missed a bunch out, so take this as a non-exhaustive list! In no particular order:

Citadel, @bouncyballcitadel (I think of all the IFs on this list, this one makes me sweat the most. And I've said it once and I'll say it again: the dialogue is so snappy and well-written, and characters are SO DAMNED LOVEABLE.)

Infamous, @infamous-if (I've been manifesting Band/Musician IFs for the longest time, and then this popped up! I've even played Choice of a Rockstar, that's how desperate I was... Anyway, this is legions better than that. Angsty ex routes are my kryptonite, and Seven is just. Inevitable.)

Defiled Hearts: The Barbarian, @defiledheartsblog (I went into this wanting something juicy and fun/historical—and it's all of those things, but I didn't expect it to be so damned funny, too. The ROs are all impeccable.)

Raiders of the Caravan and Apartment 3-3, @leftski-if (A'ight listen, fantasy slice-of-life is my fave genre, and these are IT. Like, everything I never knew I needed in my life, and SO cozy/wholesome, with a cast of characters that I want to befriend in real life.)

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: An Affair of the Heart @doriana-gray-games (First off, the customization in this game is INSANE, and the branching too. I've replayed a couple of times and the little variations I discover each time just blows my mind. Secondly, it's so funny and written so well. Ngl I'm not a Sherlock fan but that's just testament to how amazing this IF is.)

When Life Gives You Lemons, @when-life-gives-you-lemonssss (Modern slice-of-life with an adorable kid, a bunch of hot ROs, CC. Hill's humor, what can I say?)

Golden @milaswriting (Really interesting world-building, one of the coolest fictional cities I've read in an IF, AND I'm obsessed with the ROs, in particular K de la Renta. Also Mila is such an awesome writer, I'm beyond excited for @beyondthegame.)

A Tale of Crowns @ataleofcrowns (This game is beautiful, polished, and SO exciting. Honestly, it looks like the kind of game created by a whole-ass game studio and would cost $50 to buy, it's that good. I really got swept up by this IF—probably played it all in one go.)

Rougi @rougi-if (Again, another game with scrumptious visuals/UI and also is just so well-crafted. I love the premise too, it's so original and fresh.)

Scout: An Apocalypse Story @anya-dev (Unfortunately this one might be on hiatus but I am/was really, really obsessed.)

Wayfarer @idrellegames (Love the game mechanics of this one, and the visuals. Probably controversial, but I like the D&D / random dice effect. And I also like the fact that it feels like an old-school RPG.)

Chop shop @losergames (The premise is all I needed to be sold, really—I'd always wanted to buy GTA as a kid but my parents were like NO WAY. Anyway, this IF did not disappoint, and let me live all my childhood dreams.)

Edit: AHH! How could I forget, one of my recent faves, Folksaga @folksaga-if (Lush atmospheric writing, super unique premise—norse mythology, plus I'm head over heels for Katla).

More About Them: Eir is a quiet person. They don't speak much, preferring to listen to what's happening around them. When they do speak it's often blunt and scathing. Despite this, they're quite soft and care deeply for everyone around them. They're sensitive and cry easily. The kind of person to cry when angry, that won't stop them from verbally tearing you down physically too if you piss them off enough.

They can be stubborn with their decisions, rarely backing down from a fight; a trait they share with Fritz. And they are vain; they're very pretty and they know it. I named them after the norse goddess of healing, Eir. I thought it'd be funny and a bit ironic, considering they're uh.... them.

Their hobbies are baking and ballet. They used to make candy, but that has since evolved into baking. ("Here, I've made this for you. Hope you like it ♥")

They also collect things; any thing. Eir has a shelf full of random shit they've picked up. Keys, bottle caps, rocks, nails and screws, broken jewelry, trash; nothing is safe. If they think no one wants it, it's in their pockets. ("Ah, another piece for my collection!")

Really a kleptomaniac.

These characters don't have specific ROs that they'd romance; they're more made to explore their dynamic with said ROs.

Eir's height is 5'6.5 ft or 168 cm.

Loves their coffee, and it needs to be as sweet as possible. Eir drinks so much that they often get sick from it; it's the fucking sugar. ("Ugh, I need to stop adding so much crap to my coffee....")

You develop them so well and their designs are so good. If you feel comfortable answering this question/sharing this who would you say is your newest oc and who is your oldest oc. My oldest OC. I THINK is ... Tai Atherton. Tai was a self-insert taken from RPF and restructured for Dark Hunter [by Sherrlyn Kenyon] fic. Tai was short and trouble. I don't even remember. Wad she human? I think to start. She had a nickname having to do with them being short and mayhem. Was it imp? No. I don't remember. I just remember that Tai was StubbornTM [like a true self insert oc/probably Mary Sue shouldn't have been back in the day] and a busy body. Whew was she ever a busy body. I don't recall if that woman had a self conscious bone in her body. She probably did not.

I kilt her because I didn't know what to do with her/was bored with her arc. But then I changed my mind and did a thing. She came back. Her FC was from that soap opera passions. I was sixteen? Seventeen? Sjejdhshhe

My newest oc is from @/folksaga-if. I don't remember his name. Jsjshehe I was just like I need to make someone romance Katla as my OC before him - Brenn - was not it. He is very steady [seeming] and noble. He can get sorta anxious. I feel he is very aware of himself [mostly]; and more so thus around him and his duty. And has been in love with his best friend forever.

At first I almost said the two would not get along. But I feel though they might irritate each other/rub each other the wrong way, they would remind each other of their respective LI. [That, or, Tai would remind him of Katla while Tai would refuse to see how he is similar to both her ex and the boo she ended up with sjenhehebr]
