The girl in the office was a particularly tall girl with anxious, jittery hands that folded and refolded the pile of napkins that had been given to her with the cup of hot chocolate. She hadn’t touched the cup since she’d arrived at my office with nothing but a backpack on her person. Her white sneakers were caked with mud and breadcrumbs, but her uniform was ironed straight and bleached white, the pinks just as bright as the ones I remembered from AOI.
Warily, she eyed the cup as the marshmallows and whipped cream foamed on the bed of sweet dark. Despite her clear interest in the drink, she did not touch it. Instead, she touched her hair, smoothing some invisible curl that wasn’t held back by the red bow of her too tight ponytail. She only halted her movements when she noticed my staring.
I smiled.
She looked away, studying the spacious office with its cream walls and paralleling carpets, couches, desk.
“Is that—?” The painting took up the entire wall behind me. Every inch was covered in some abstract reconstruction of Mary at the cross colored pink and yellow, bleeding some strange green that not a single art critic could name correctly or any artist, replicate. The painter’s owner was the greatest artist of our time, hidden from the public eye, speaking through the voice of PR agents that were changed periodically. The paintings were a rarity to be seen outside of their home in—Well, I won’t bore with the details.
“It’s a painting of Mary.” She held some resemblance to the re-imagined Mary, but lots of girls did. That was the painting’s appeal. “It was gifted to me personally.”
Her eyes flickered back to mine. A moment of careful silence before her surprise spilled out in two words: “Oh, really?”
It was the most she’d talked since arriving. Downstairs, fifteen hundred girls were participating in a spot to debut in Girlmeet—the future of Joiwurks, the continuation of the story conceptualized by my hand. Yet, she held no interest in the group or the legacy attached to it. Her interest was solely in me. She would not give her name to the receptionist nor would she give it to me when I first asked. She simply ignored the question as she took her seat, politely accepting whatever was handed to her: the hot chocolate, the tin of cookies, the singular grape which she requested only to observe its shape, her finger pressing against the small thing but not enough for the skin to break or the tart inside to leak. Everything in the office sparked joy to her. She was pleased by the layout, the palette, the arrangement, and the painting despite having no interest in the arts. This was made obvious due to her lackluster reception to the painting and her not knowing the artist’s name.
Finally, she opened the bag she came with. From it, she drew out a magazine cover and a stack of letters bound by the same red thread of her hair.
“This is—” she held out the magazine cover. “This is you.”
Times. 2004. Titled: I am. Subtitle: The Man who created AOI.
I'd always found the fanfare for this article embarrassing. Even my coworkers had teased me of the dramatics of the journalist who likened me to a god of storytelling.
Warmth crawled up my neck, I smiled sheepishly. “Yes, that is.”
She giggled as she handed over the letter. “My mom—she wrote all these for you. She mentioned you by name.” Her fingers brushed against mine which she quickly drew back. Despite the quiet apology, her hidden gaze, I caught the beginnings of affection blooming in her eyes.
I recognized the letter. The handwriting. “Your mom is—”
“Yes!” She nodded eagerly. “I didn’t read all of them, just a few. I’m sorry if I overstepped! I just—Oh, I don’t know. I guess I just wanted to meet you. She never told me about you so I assumed you must be someone important. To her.”
I slid the letters back, but she shook her head. “Please keep them. I’m sure she’d want you to.”
She did look like her mom. Her nose, her dark eyes, her mouth. She didn’t have all the confidence Two did or the flare for dramatics. She was a lot more charming. Gentler. Despite her nerves, she seemed to understand I wasn’t the threat they taught them of in that other world. “What do they call you in Rosemary?”
Her eyes widened a bit, surprised I’d know of the secret that circulated amongst the select few. That I was the select few. I gave her a cheeky smile. It placated her.
“Daughter but—but my real name is Darling.”
“Darling,” I repeated. “Do you like music?”

A MOMENT IN TIME: ???, 2024.
BATTLE BLONDE is the work-in-progress name of the shelved EP for BOTTLE BLONDE, fully produced and partially visualize by LOOPiN's O.z thought 2024, mostly as part of his personal campaign around entertainment companies to stablish himself in the market outside of New Wave Music's domain.
The project is now considered a urban legend, and the reasons why it was shelved were never fully explained; cold hearted rejection? Seo CEO's email tempering? We might never know. For now, the mock EP rests safely (and lovingly!) in a corner of Zhiming's computer hard-drive.
TRACKLIST: #01. BOND / #02. VISION OF THE VIXEN / #03. DOT-DOLL / #04. GAMEBOY / #05. LOVE ONLINE / #06. STUCK ON MY MIND / #07. FREQUENCY: HEAVEN.

E͟D͟I͟T͟E͟D͟ ͟0͟1͟0͟1͟2͟4͟. this is not the only site with this message, because this is not the only digital space something precious has been taken. ten seconds before the start of the new year, the third starfalling event in history shut off the singular power. the world fell asleep, cocooned by a trembling dark. in that ten seconds, the star cried and it's tears became the blue star virus that ate away at the memory of the only living giant that connects me and you, future and past, unreal and real. for fans of the innocent age, yes, this article was the last thing of it’s existence and it, too, is lost in a sea of blue star foam.  we have no questions to any of these answers: where did the star come from? why did this happen? can’t it all be restored again? what was taken? who was aoi?
the only way it could ever go with the rabbit tale. so, once again, here we go from the end. and this time, it will be told right.

✸     ᕱᕱ     ﹑     …     05:08     ⟢     THE LAST TIME I SAW SAINT ───── FILMED BY ███
i'm sorry. i ... i lied earlier. that wasn’t really the last time i saw saint. there were a few more times after. it started with the sundrops. then in the greenhouse where lily petals ripped apart and sang: love me , love me not. i saw saint in the single star before it fell. i saw saint in that star's heat when i held it dying in it's final hour. i saw saint in the red shoes of the great castle's dance hall, spinning and spinning. i saw saint in a special place bad things don't go. waiting. hiding. lost. and i always saw saint in the cloud of my dreams, counting sheep by the nines, the rose of my heart blooming. i never stopped seeing saint. i didn't want to.

marie of the year april.         shortened to modern marie serves as a reverse retelling of for romance's fairy tale, 808 ——— spearheaded by marie's only ( and 808's first ) official music project, dalheum the rabbit. ( dalheum for short ) unlike previous installments that s͟h͟a͟r͟e͟d͟ names with their ages, modern marie stands alone during the decade of the rose , a supposed alternate of events that occurred during the age of innocence and the age of saturn as well as 808's start, foermi. despite dalgeum housing a cast of sort of well knowns in the entertainment world ( saint, daughter, jc ) the group is relatively underground, hidden from the public eye, interacting mostly with the most diehard of rumcakes, their special fanbase. 달흠 TR.
