honestly i thought surtr was like some sort of hidden arknights boss or an ex-villain or something but she's just a passive mall goth lounging around and eating all my damn ice cream

#arknights #she doesnt leave my damn fridge alone #had to request a new minifridge through HR to hide my personal ice cream stash #(theyre original klondike bars. you see #only the original klondike bar has a solid chocolate casing hard enough that its a valid shell that doesnt crack or melt easily #and what i do is that in my office i use a spoon to introduce small microcracks into the klondike bar #to then pry apart by pieces and slowly deshell the klondike bar to eat its chocolate seperately from the ice cream #after ive finished eating all of the shell and ive properly left the ice cream proper nude #i proceed to eat the block of vanilla ice cream like a normal ice cream serving with the same spoon #using the foil itself as a plate for max efficiency #and upon finishing i lick the foil plate clean and politely fold up and throw away to minimize trash output as much as possible #thus ensuring a nice ice cream experience #but no surtr has to be like “bro just bite into the fucking ice cream its an ice cream sandwich”#BITCH you dont UNDERSTAND the PROCESS #WHICH ONE OF US IS THE TACTICIAN HERE????

I had yet another long, strenuous day yesterday and didn't finish work until super late and then I couldn't fall asleep until well past 2am cuz I was in so much pain from standing literally all day

#what made it worse was the client I spent most of my day with was a brand new client. and she booked super last minute #so I wasnt mentally prepared for doing a 5 hour color. and her natural hair was already pretty light so I had to foil foil foil. go back.#pull out first couple foils. foil foil foil. go back. pull out the next few.#over and over and over.#and her hair was so fucking long. and so fucking thick.#and after the first hour she wouldn't talk. like I like my silence so I don't fight it much #but every now and then I would try to engage with her. I'd say something and she would straight up ignore me. no acknowledgment.#which makes me feel anxious cuz it's like jesus... does she hate me?? did I piss her off somehow?#even when I finished her hair (it looked fucking amazing no lie. one of my best highlights yet.) she had next to no reaction to it #she was like 'it looks fine. I mean good. it's good.' completely deadpan #I laughed it off and was like yeah it's been a long day girl! but it looks amazinggg on you!!#no response. deep inhale. alright.#whatever tho.#when I did finally get off work I stopped @ bojangles cuz I was lightheaded and hadn't eaten since morning #and when I tell you I almost broke down into tears cuz there were so many people crowding the goddamn pickup area.#and so many bizarre conversations going on. genuinely felt like I was in some form of hell #like my feet hurt. my back hurts. I'm tired. I didn't get the validation I like to have over a 5 hour transformative color.#I'm hungry and there are two elderly women blocking the pickup counter. one is hard of hearing so she keeps yelling HUH???#and the other only speaks in soft baby whispers. that goes as well as you can imagine.#there's a man behind me grilling an employee abt whether or not he goes to church. he starts witnessing to him #and the employee says 'I've never thought about it like that before' no less than 4 times.#there's a child in front of me playing tiktoks @ full volume. and this is all happening simultaneously.#I really considered just leaving without my food but I knew I needed to eat and didnt have anything at home so I stuck it out #was it worth it? no. bojangles honestly sucks these days but what's a girl gonna do.#got home and tried to pass out but nope. tossed and turned all night.#put on hot n cold patches to try to soothe the pain a little. didn't work cuz one pain would be eased a bit and another pain would take over #blahhhhhh #and now. I get to do it all over again! yippeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

okay so essentially theres a really shitty book from like 1840 where one of the character duels a lot (dueling is basically fencing with less protection) and his signature move is a “tierce” which best as i can tell is a parry but he uses it to stab a man in the side. would that be possible given what a tierce is or does the author just not know what he’s talking about?

tbh I have never heard tierce, but yea. I’ve done it before. Deflect then go in for the kill

#Works well when the opponent lunges close and you block. From there their defense is naturally gonna be gone for a moment #And stabbing is possible #In the side might be a little difficult.#For me it’s usually my sabre move so it’s a whack #Or for foil it’s a stab to the chest #But it can work

i was foolish and checked out the bnha subreddit and it’s maybe even worse than twitter. are we even reading the same story? absolutely everyone despises the villains and unquestionably supports the heroes full stop with no criticism. i feel like the majority feel this way and wonder if we are reading too much into the text or if horikoshi is at fault for unclear narrative framing

The framing in bnha is ass bad. I say this objectively and not just because it impacts my faves because the heroes are also given the short end of the stick for a lot of things. Bakugou's arc is one of the things that started out well enough and then ended in a weird direction for the same reason, too.

But anyway. I don't browse reddit because I'm allergic to reddit takes, but from what I've heard it doesn't sound like a great environment for deep analyses, tbh. Tumblr isn't any different unless you follow the right people, but at least here it's much easier to curate your online experience and blacklist and block the topics you don't want to interact with. Following a restricted amount of trusted creators also helps imho

#I tend to distrust spaces where larger amounts of fans interact #Because there you'll always run into people with wildly different interpretations of the text #And like. Yeah. Sometimes differences are enriching #I don't agree with all my mutuals #And I like being challenged in my views from time to time #But if the differences are stuff like 'the kids will kill their foils' that's just plain misreading #And I don't care if some think it's rude.
