The longer version of the Nico Hülkenberg fitness test video. Tranlsation below:
Speaker: „How well the factor fitness is accounted for with a driver is examined at Team Sauber in extensive tests before during and after the season.“
Dr. Kitschmann (Team doctor Sauber F1): „We don´t need marathon runners, we don´t need weightlifter, but we must have pilots who can hang on through a race without suffering a loss of concentration.“
Speaker: „Like with the car every detail must be right with the driver. At the physiotherapy check the optimal setup is found for the body and the athlete is scanned completely.“
Hülkenberg: „When you see how advanced Formula 1 is, how much money is poured in, of course everything must work out, so the driver´s body is our asset and extremely important.“
Speaker: „Special importance is attached to the endurance factor. In the cockpit the physical work is extremely hard with heart rates reaching the upper limits.
Trainer: „Next level…“
Dr. Kitschmann: „We do see extreme [HR] values up to 170…180 bpm and have also measured those over extended periods of time like half an hour or so.“

We’re getting ever closer to me starting HRT. Today is an early blog entry since I don’t think something will beat me going to the second part of the pre-t study. I had to get my fitness tested on a bike. I’m not normally feeling too queasy to ride a bike but after that hour I felt very dizzy and exhausted. I googled the score just now and it seemed close to the average of a fit cyclist which suits me just fine. Especially since it may only get up from here.
I'm a PT and I'm always looking to enhance my skills. I found a really good course which in order to get on it you have to pass a fitness test.
The test was this morning and I learnt 2 things...
1. The PT assessing us didn't know the male/female standards
2. I can run faster than I thought I could
The very last test I had to pass was a 2.4km run. The standards for females is 13min. Before we ran, we were given a quick run down in which the assessor said the standards for both genders is 12mins.
I'm freaking out of course because I'm not the best runner, on a normal day I'd do a 2.4km in about 12:15-12:30. So, I've absolutely sent it on the first lap (bad idea) felt sick very quickly.
I get to the last 150m and I'm feeling like I'm about to throw up and have fully accepted that I've probably just failed UNTIL.. as I get closer to the end, I hear the assessor start counting down from 20 and I'm thinking holy sh*t I might actually be able to do this so with the last bit of energy I had left, I pushed as hard as I could and hit it with 5 seconds to spare.
About 30mins later once I've relaxed, I checked the original email which states the female standards are 13mins. While I felt a tad cheated, I was also quite impressed at myself for how fast I was able to run it.
What I've taken from this... I need to back myself more.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is a cisgender woman, you absolute freaks. The International Boxing Association never did a karyotype test on her; they only tested her testosterone levels. She was disqualified from competing due to antiquated, misogynistic and patriarchal regulations that require women to present according a Platonic ideal (a perfect form) of Womanhood. She is a cis woman; she did not undergo “male puberty,” you genitalia-obsessed weirdos.
She grew up in a rural Algerian village and overcame numerous gender barriers to get where she is. Her father forbade her from boxing because he didn’t approve of girls playing the sport, and he actively prevented her from practicing. She would be actively prevented from boxing again in 2023 because a panel of men deemed her not “woman” enough because of arbitrary rules about how much testosterone a “true lady” should produce.
Imane Khelif’s life story is one of overcoming adversity put in place by the arbitrary rules the patriarchy imposes upon women to keep men as men and women down.
Also, it is literally illegal to be trans in Algeria. Algeria does not allow people to change their sex on official documents or undergo medical or hormonal treatment to transition. Y’all are freaks who hate queer people and women. Leave Imane Khelif alone. Leave trans women alone. Leave women alone, period.
