An entity found alone in the Far Plane. The entity seems to do nothing in its environment except exist. Its relationship with the plant-like organisms that grow around it is currently unknown.

the thing about Eddie Diaz is that it feels like he is absolutely in love with his best friend and completely aware of that fact.

he has grabbed it and turned it over in his hands and looked at it all over, seen all the chips and the shapes and curves and dents of it and said "hm. yep." and then he tucked it in the back of a cabinet far from reach, where it can be out of sight and mayyybe forgotten. until the next time he opens the cabinet and there it is, tucked into the back corner staring at him. refusing to run out or disappear in a puff of smoke. Eddie's love for Buck, expiration date: never.

so he closes the cabinet, smiles at Buck with hearts in his eyes, and moves on with his day. and so on

Game: Unknown

We arrive at (in my humble opinion) one of the best Classics of Game videos ever made. Here we see CoG's auspicious eye for Dumb Video Game Shit at peak form, featuring a game that has been scrutinized, discussed and praised/condemned to no end. And yet before this video, I don't think I'd ever seen anyone walk into this exact kill plane.

I wouldn't say this video makes me emotional, but it does fill me with a strange sense of wonder. It's harder to see with most of the other entries since they come from lesser-known games that you and I have never played before, but here we truly see that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The gross, muddled textures of scaffolding and weird pots in strange yellowed lighting...the alluring glow of some mysterious gems leading you onward...the insane looking beast corpse casually clung to the leg of the player the entire time.....these are things you would not be thinking about for a second if you ended up here on a casual playthrough. Every so often you need to stop and smell the roses.

It's been easy to make quick judgement calls of other CoG games, the ones I know almost nothing about. Any time I watch this one, I desperately want to find people who have never seen a single screenshot from Dark Souls, who know absolutely nothing about it so I can show them this video. I'm certain that if you did, if you showed this honest slice of one of the most highly-regarded video games ever made, they'd probably say "This looks like shit." And I think that's beautiful.

it's so SO fucked up that the buddie thesis of the show has been there since s02 e08 with Thomas telling Buck "you don't find it, son, you make it", and ever since then Buck has found person after person and has kept reaching and reaching for one of them to love him, not understanding why he can't make it work, while at the same time building a home, a haven, with Eddie. he's been making it this WHOLE TIME and 6 seasons later, he STILL thinks he doesn't have it
