Marvel Eating Random Things

I love allllllllll the Billy eating random things as Marvel posts/headcanons. I don’t know why. I just love it. I love unhinged Marvel soooo much. But what if we took it one step further and had Marvel eat anything, including living creatures. Also, I’m gonna connect this to the Marvel being a Good Cook post. In that post, he’s just a good cook basically.

Flash: *passed out on the floor of the kitchen in a hypoglycemic coma*

Marvel: *walks into the kitchen and stops dead in his tracks* “Wally?” *walks over and prods him with his shoe* “Are you dead?” *kneels down to sniff him* “Can I eat you?”

Flash: *on a medical cot and wakes up*

Marvel: *nearby, doing a crossword puzzle*

Flash: *sees Marvel* “Cap?”

Marvel: “Yes?” *fills in one of the words on the puzzle*

Flash: “Did you… Did you ask if you could eat me?”

Marvel: “Nope.”

Flash: “Yeah, that’s what I thought. It’s just I swear I heard you say something like that.” *sits up, stomach rumbling*

Marvel: “You were pretty knocked out, man. I don’t remember saying that.” *puts crossword down* “Why don’t we get something to eat? Like chili dogs or burgers or something?”

Flash: “Sounds great.” *gets off the cot so they can head to the zetas*

He gaslit, gatekeeped, and girlbossed. He’s also done this to multiple leaguers by the way. One of them was Batman who now has a recording of Billy asking if he could eat him. Bruce listened to it a solid ten times because in this AU, he knows next to nothing about Marvel, and now, because of this recording, he’s wondering if Marvel is, or was even human.

Then, there was the time him and Wonder Woman went together to wrangle some demons back into Tartarus. Unfortunately, one of the demons died during the process and didn’t make it back into the gates. So, now Diana and Billy were stuck with a demon corpse.

Diana: *looking at the corpse* “What should we do with it?”

Marvel: *also looking at the corpse* “Hmm… I have an idea.”

Diana: “Oh? Could you sha-” *now sees Marvel in his little lightning bolt apron and chef hat* “Why’re you dressed like that?”

Marvel: “I like to get into it.” *starts pulling salt, pepper, paprika, Goya Adobo, basically a bunch of seasonings out of his pocket dimension*

Diana: “Cap…? Cap. You can’t seriously be suggesting we eat the demon?”

Marvel: “I’m not suggesting anything. I’m just politely telling you that it’s one, delicious, and two also delicious.” *conjures up a giant, demon-sized, floating frying pan from nowhere with a fire underneath it*

Diana: *watches as Marvel picks the demon up, puts it in the pan, and starts seasoning*

She does end up eating some of the demon later with Marvel. Though she swore she would “never do it again.” But, when she heard Marvel tell her of a demon that tastes like hard candy when you mix its body with a certain magical herb, she wouldn’t admit it, but she had second thoughts. Those second thoughts amped up when he told her they were really good to eat with ice cream.

Then, there was the time with Aquaman. He came over to Atlantis because he wanted to see Aquaman’s sea creatures. His school had a field trip to the aquarium and he not only did he not have an adult to sign the permission slip, he also didn’t have enough money to pay the fare. Thankfully, Billy’s Marvel form didn’t need to breathe so he could go underwater just fine. Meanwhile, Arthur was just happy to yap about the sea creatures to and listen intently and ask questions and all that. Unfortunately, some mermaids swam up and decided to ruin their fun. Now, you see, they were sort of fighting them in an underwater cave and all the fighting caused a piece of rubble to come loose and fall on one of the mermaids, killing her. This caused the rest of them to run.

Aquaman: “Alright, back to the tour.” *sees Marvel casually sawing off the mermaid’s tail* “What’re you doing, man?”

Marvel: “I’m gonna eat this later.” *holds the mermaid tail up, shaking it a little*

Aquaman: “Oh. Cool. Can I have some?”

Marvel: “Sure, I can make it when our tours done.” *puts the mermaid tail in his pocket dimension*

Aquaman: “Nice, I’ll bring some Atlantean mead.”

Later…

Marvel and Aquaman: *both munching on mermaid tail*

Aquaman: “This really good!” *grabs some mead to drink down his mouthful of fish*

Marvel: “Thanks.” *munches on fish* “You know, I was surprised you wanted to eat this.”

Aquaman: “Why?”

Marvel: “You can talk to fish right? So, if you were to go to an aquarium, wouldn’t you hear some fish screaming to be let out or something?”

Aquaman: “Geez, I haven’t been to an aquarium since I was a kid.” *sounding nostalgic* “But nah, they normally just chill.”

Marvel: “I haven’t been to one ever. And really? Huh.” *munches on fish more* “But I guess what I’m really asking is if you’re sensitive about eating fish or not.”

Aquaman: “Nah, not really. In this great big sea, what did you think the main source of protein was? Plus, this is mermaid, it’s only technically fish.”

Marvel: *shrugs* “So is that a no? You don’t care about eating fish?”

Aquaman: *nods head as he drinks more mead* “It’s a no.”

Marvel: “Sweet! Cause I have a bunch of fish recipes I wanna try out.”

About an hour after this, Marvel had to help Aquaman home since the Atlantean challenged him to a drinking contest, not knowing the Captain couldn’t get drunk. Mera had a brow raised at Billy judgmentally the entire time he explained why he came home with her husband black out drunk.

I’ve spent so many New Year’s Eves being unhappy that a quiet one was just what I wanted. I did some noodling on two projects as I try to find out if they are…

Wildcard AU: reading through this, I realize not many personas were discussed for the Dekusquad, and so, I wanted to give my two cents on who would own which hero, and maybe what their persona does.

Iida: Pheidippides, the one who ran from Marathon to Athens to tell of the Greek's victory against the Persians at the battle of Marathon (where the sport gets the name from) before dying of exhaustion. Wind element with accuracy Debuffs.

Todoroki: Merlin, know for being the advisors to the "Main" hero of the stories (Uther and Arthur Pendragon), with magical powers from an unnatural birth. Magic Damage buffs and single-target elemental spells.

Uraraka: Princess Kaguya, daughter to bamboo cutters (commoners), who grants wealth to her parents from her presence, only to be later out of reach by her own desires. Light element attacks (assuming light can do damage like P5) and Ailment inflicting skills.

Asui: I'd like it to be Jiraiya, but that's been done in P4, so I'm not sure. Electric damage skills and accuracy/evasion buffs.

Yaoyorozu: Boudica, Queen of the Inceni Brittish people and "Lady of Victory" who led an (unsuccessful) uprising against the Roman empire. Navigational (as stated prior)

Inko: Lemminkäinen, Finnish hero who dies in the rivers of the underworld, who's mother fished his remains out with a magic rake, before putting him back together. It would have been the mother instead, but I cannot find her name anywhere. Healing and ailment/debuff neutralizing.

Bakugo: Achilles, one the other most known heroes of Greek myth (mirroring Midoriya), who was a great warrior and invincible in battle, save for a fatal flaw. Physical attack and fire skills with Amps, resistant to physical damage, but not immune.

Eri: Deirdre (as stated), Irish heroine who's beauty was prophesized to bring bloodshed that would kill the three greatest warriors of Ulster. Healing and Ice element magic.

All Might: Samuel Steele, Canadian Mountie and "Lion of the Yukon" who kept the peace between Canadian settlers and the First nation people, and made the Klondike Goldrush into one of the most organized goldrushes in history. Physical attacks and defensive buffs.

Interesting choices. I mentioned Uraraka having Atlanta once but I'm flexible on that if I like something else better. I should also note that not all of Midoriya's social links will end up with Personas of their own.

It hasn't come up but I did decide that Bakugou's eventual Persona is Mwindo

The padding and material of his armored gloves prevented any sound other than a muted swish to filter in through the chaos outside of the crumbling walls, but he didn't need the sound. John snapped his fingers and opened his palm up to the sky. Warmth blossomed behind his ear, accompanied by a familiar and pleasant vibration. It shot through his nerves, akin to the narcotic effect of an injection of opiates. Like the way ice burned against his skin.

Light wreathed his arm, gathering in the palm of his hand, and he released his hold on the power coursing through his body, and it petered out like a candle held up in the wind.

John snapped his fingers again.

When he was younger, before the biotic amp, before he ever had aspirations of a military career, before his name had a meaning, he used a lighter.

It was always windy at the very top of the housing tower. He sat on the concrete ledge, one leg dangling over. The click of the lighter preceded the warmth of the fire as he curved his hand around the flame to keep it from going out. He snapped it shut. Open, click again. It got hotter with each time he repeated the action. The heat on the metal wheel hurt just as badly as the radiation from the little flame. The rhythm, the pain, the light even, all distracted him from the call of the void. That thrilling but unpleasant urge to simply leap from the skyscraper. To feel the rushing wind, and the way gravity would take control of his limbs. That urge, that feeling was addicting. But he didn't actually want to jump. He just needed to feel the beating of his heart and the suggestion of vertigo that came with it. Even if it made him a little sick. A little scared. The lighter just kept him from thinking about it too deeply. From deciding that the call was what he wanted after all.

The void had been calling to him again. He felt it in the heaviness of his limbs, the vertigo building in his pounding head. And even standing inside the crumbling remains of a once proud building, nowhere near the edge. He felt the urge to leap.

John snapped his fingers again.

There will be nothing left of you when this over.

"Is it all humans who can't stand to sit still, or just you?" Wrex boomed as he climbed the rubble that served as a ramp. He laughed as he walked, a deep rumble that permeated the atmosphere with warmth.

It was a comfortable warmth. Like sitting close to a hearth fire or sipping from a cup of coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Neither experience John was overly familiar with. But that rich and bassy expression of joy was just as good. Better even.

John smiled and snapped his fingers again. "All humans are exactly the same, thought you knew that."

It was an old joke of theirs. Borne of both of them saying some idiot thing about "I thought the krogan all thought blank" or "you humans talk too much". Good for both of them then that they had a sense of humor. You needed a sense of humor to get by, especially when you were dealing with an alien who could have been compared to a small mountain if one was feeling generous.

Or plain exxagerative.

Wrex clapped John on the back hard before snatching him by the shoulder and pulling him into a bone crushing hug. It was not hyperbolic to say that it did feel like he was being embraced by a mountain. "What took you so long getting here? I was starting to think I was going to have to kick the Reapers off Earth myself. Show all your Alliance types how the krogan win a war."

"And let you get all the glory?" John gasped as his lungs desperately tried to pull more air in. "Your head's already big enough, I don't think the galaxy could manage you on that kind of ego trip."

"Ha! It can hardly manage me now!" Wrex boasted and released Shepard from the crushing strength of his affection.

"Kind of proving my point there, big guy." John shook his head.

There was more he wanted to say. Words that pushed urgently against the constriction forming in his throat. But he'd never been good at speaking his most closely held truths. Especially the ones that hurt.

John snapped his fingers.

John, you know what needs to be done.

Wrex narrowed his eyes at him. Carefully appraising Shepard in that calm way that proved that he wasn't just a hotheaded jackass. The krogan was too insightful for John's own good. "What's on your mind, Shepard? Other than my rugged good looks, I mean."

That was one of the things John loved about this krogan in particular. Wrex knew how to soften the "get out of your own stupid head for a second" with a joke. Something that allowed John the fiction that the words he said next were just a part of their casual banter and not the scabs that covered the festering ooze beneath.

John sighed and leaned against Wrex's great armored chest, pressing his cheek against the plate to try to hear the great hearts beating underneath. "Just trying to prepare myself to hit that beam. Getting sucked up into lower orbit by Reaper technology isn't exactly my idea of a good time."

"Don't tell me you're afraid of heights."

John flicked the lighter and looked down as he stood on the ledge. You weren't supposed to look down. But he didn't feel the vertigo. Didn't feel the fear of the call. Finch was pissed. It had been a stupid fight. A stupid fuck up. But he wasn't ready to apologize. John felt on the outside again. He didn't belong with the Reds, not really. But he didn’t have anywhere else he belonged. He flicked the lighter again despite the blister forming on his thumb. He stepped back from the ledge. Johnny what are you doing? You have to take control of your life.

John huffed, "Not afraid enough, I think." Not afraid of heights. Not afraid of dying. He'd already done it once, what was one more time anyways?

Nah, he was only afraid of one thing.
