AU where Iroh convinces Zuko to be the next Fire Lord MUCH earlier in the series. Zuko, who hasn't been in formal education since was 13yo, understandably panics. He barely remembers his lessons on How To Be the Fire Lord, and they were all focused on how to rule during wartime. Not peace. What does an international peace treaty even LOOK like and how does one go about making it???? How does trade work when you're NOT trying to eradicate every other nation????

Book 3 Zuko spends all of his time teaching Aang firebending, interrogating the other members about their culture's traditions and politics, going on Blue Spirit journeys to raid any passing libraries, and reading everything he can get his hands on. He barely eats. He doesn't sleep. He's info dumping about the DRIEST political texts. The gaang are THIS close to holding an intervention or having Toph sit on him until he sleeps.

I might get hate for this but I’ll it always find it funny that Scott pushes Derek to work with the argents (season 3 ish) and and struggles to understand why when he refuses to; When Scott himself refused to work with Derek for the longest time becuase Derek killed Peter.

Like brother in Christ, I get it, objectively Derek kinda manipulated Scott into helping kill Peter, by promising that he would be able to kill Peter and turn human (he did say it was a fat chance and just a legend). Yes he knew that the legend was bullshit but telling Scott was the best way to get him to help.

Dereks been a werewolf his entire life. He knew that he couldn’t kill Peter alone and that the risk of letting Scott kill Peter on a chance of turning human wasn’t worth it. — Best case it happens Scott turns human, Derek maybe becomes an alpha werewolf (the spark transfers) and still creates the hale pack — maybe derek stays an Omega, goes feral and gets hunted down. Or maybe Scott turns into an alpha doesn’t handle it well, goes feral, and than gets killed by either 1 Derek or 2 hunters.

So yes maybe he did manipulate Scott into helping but in the end there is some logic behind Derek killing Peter. So I get the betrayal behind not wanting to be around him

On the other hand pushing him to work with the argents when they killed his family and tortured Boyd and Erica isn’t and not understanding why he doesn’t want to work with them is objectively funny. Even stiles could read the room, shot out to the one scene “would you rather I burned his house down”

I just know the new Hunger Games movie won't be it🥲

Don't get me wrong I'm beyond excited for the new book. I have faith that Suzanne Collins— the woman she is— will write a story so gripping, undeniably tragic and beyond critical of our current global politics that it will irrevocably change my brain chemistry.

But I have no faith in Hollywood to stay true to the heart of her next story.

We've seen this recently with TBOSBAS. The book was gritty, gruelling, stripped back from all the glam of the first Hunger Games. But the movie took away the worst of it. Now all I see of the movie is fan edits of Tom Blythe and the costumes Hunter Schaefer wears as if that is what we are meant to take away. And obviously this is no hate to the actors.

This is hate to a movie that will completely trivialise the heart of the next Hunger Games book. A book we know to be about propaganda and the lies our governments sell us so they can continue to commit atrocities on a global scale.

I was thinking about sscene in Mockingjay where the Capital bombed a hospital and how, when I was 12 and first read that, my brain thought "God that's awful". That would never happen.

But it happens today. It's happening right now. 34 of Palestine 36 hospitals have been reduced to piles of ruble and bodies.

Make no mistake. This new book will be about the censorship of the truth, about the governments in the west that we live under, that aid and are complicit in crimes across the world.

It will be about the USA, Israel and Palestine, about the UK's hand in the genocide in Congo and Sudan.

But you don't even have to have half a brain to know that the movie, that Hollywood, will never go there.

"Sansa = Ned 2.0 and Arya = Catelyn 2.0" is one of those takes where you can just tell people are more attached to the aesthetic than anything. "The Stark girls are most like the parent they look least like" sounds good on paper and people run with the idea, regardless of how it actually fits into the story. A majority of the justification relies on misinterpreting all of their characters + a healthy dose of fanon. What gets me is that this is the same fandom that insists that Lyanna, only compared to Arya in the text, is equal parts Arya and Sansa but Ned and Catelyn, two fully fleshed-out and complex characters, have to be more like one girl or the other? There's just nothing in the story to justify being so adamant about these comparisons. Arya and Sansa have parallels with both of their parents but at the end of the day, they are unique characters with their own stories. I'll never understand why people want to flatten these complex characters down to their most basic tropes and fit them into restrictive boxes just for a "poetical~" comparison.

You know, considering how uncanny Astartes are, I do wonder how Lilith felt when she first met her new "brothers".

I imagine it probably went one of two ways:

the first way (and the more unlikely), was that she was okay with them fairly quickly and ended up quickly taking to calling them her big brothers. This is the way that Sanguinius would largely prefer.

The second and most likely was that she was quite scared of them at first, not liking how some had her father's face, and mixed with this being the revenant legion, she had a habit of straight up hissing at them and trying to make herself look bigger then she is. This would be adorable if she didn't nearly claw one poor bastard's face off and made good on her threats. It took her a full year to get used to them without hissing or biting.
