Concept for if Bethesda loved the other Companions same as old tricky dick
Gage; a dlc that doesn't kinda suck actually, but also properly explores what being a raider entails, and what kind of people end up as one. I don't think you could actually redeem him, but I'd like that idea to be directly confronted, as least. I've talked about this before but it's wasted potential that you can't make the Nuka Gang confront the fact that Oh Shit The Farmers Are Now Dangerous
Deacon: I don't think he needs his own side quest or even DLC, but I'd like him to have side quests attached to him, a la Nick's detective cases sidequests. He's a spy. Pls let us do spy shit
Piper: Same as Deacon, but I think she actively needs a sidequest. Her character gimmick, her plot purpose, and her actual affinity talks are so unrelated it's painful. Let her journalism actually be content, not just a bit of trivia about her. A set of side quests + a personal quest that addresses Diamond City's Problems with a capital P. Lots of societal issues in that little space and we do nothing with any of it.
Preston: just fix the Minutemen and give this man a goddamn break. The Minutemen just need a rehaul, so as to not have him be the quest giver. And give him other stuff to do! I wanna actually fight the Gunners! Bring up and address the failures of the old Minutemen!!! Please!!!
X6-88: give the bitch something oh my God. Much like Gage, I don't think you can convince him to let go of the Institute, but give us a CHANCE. Emil just seems so scared to ask hard questions and use interesting concepts.
Danse; finish his arc you thots (also I think Fallout 4 really lacks some humanizing/soft moments in the world and I think Danse would be a good. Subject? For them. Like a shelter dog getting to play with ducklings. Idk but I have a vision)
MacCready: they forgot that his whole point was having a whole ass baby. Give him his child wtf.
Strong; delete
Codsworth; stronger plot presence. This robot raised that old bitch let him throw hands. Also, if you wanted to put quests in Sanctuary that spawn up as the town develops, Codsworth would be a great quest giver and tagalong as you try and keep the piece and set up some kind of society.
Curie; I've said it before. I'm saying again. Curies whole deal should have been a major plot point. She's a robot that becomes human and develops human feelings with human biology. This is not important to any faction leader. What on earth.
Cait; yall fuckin know how I feel about Cait but honestly, her personal quest sucks so much I'd rather they didn't. Just give her more and better affinity talks. She needs more time to open up and develop, and 4 conversations is not enough.
Hancock; I have quite a few nitpicks about Hancock but the fact that Micky D getting ganked and being revealed to be a synth DOESNT MATTER is insane. Macdonough's last interaction with Hancock was crucial to his character arc and not letting that circle around is so, so miserable. Also, I want politically-charged quests. Campaigning! Discussions on economy! He's a mayor of this weird little anarchy town, let us play in that space.

You know, I feel like if Fallout 4's Automatron DLC was allowed to be larger, it could've been really fascinating!
This isn't just going to be a "Nuka-World was dissappointing" Type post, just a speculative advancement of Automatron's base ideas.
I LOVE Ada!
Her, Preston and Codsworth are my favorite Fo4 companions.
Ada, unlike all companions except Dogmeat, does not have Affinity. She has no Loves, Likes, Dislikes, or Hates.
This seems a bit lackluster, because the other DLC companions do have affinity, and throughout Automatron we can convince Ada that she's alive and important, that her ability to 'simulate' emotions is vital to her as a person and the memories of her previous group.
And then I realized that Far Harbor and Nuka-World both have factions you can join; The Harbormen, The Children of Atom, and Acadia for FH, and the Raiders and the Traders of NW.
Given that in base Fo4 we have a Companion for every faction and then some; it would makes some sense to have that in the DLC's so that we don't just lose a big part of those stories with no gain.
the tangent in mind, you might be asking "Yeah, so? The Automatron DLC ends in one way."
Which isn't true - yes, you take over the facility no matter what, but you can do it Peacefully by talking down Isabela, or by killing her.
And it's a VERY powerful place, with a lot of resources. You have control of it.
It would makes sense for an evil character to use it for themselves, to take control of it, and not shut it off.
If you were able to do this, perhaps Ada, who has been working with you to SHUT DOWN the operations to turn on you, and Isabela to do the same if you settle things with her peacefully.
AS stated; losing a DLC companion would suck, and Ada is different than every companion except dogmeat.
Which why I propose that Jezebel could have been the Evil Automatron companion.
Think about it - a single, verbally expressive, feminine robot needs your assistance to get out of their situation and modify them. They have information useful to you, and will offer it if you help them.
Ada accepts your assistance immediately; giving you the Robot Workbench schematics at your word.
Jezebel only helps you when you give her a body.
Ada is the Good Companion, she wants people to be safe, to survive and not suffer as her caravan did. She's thoughtful and kind and understanding when you pick up scrap for resource; outright giving it to you.
Jezebel would then be the Bad Comapnion; she wants to "Save" people, she's bitchy and self centered; she insults you (In admittedly Funny ways.)
It would makes sense, in my mind, if there was just a little bit more in Automatron. It bugs me that Ada doesn't have a Companion Perk when everyone else does (except Dogmeat.)
Yes I understand that a part of it is that Ada is the Questgiver and Besthesda wanted you to not waster resources on a companion you could lose; but fuck that. I want to Romance the Robot.
I want to romance ALL THE ROBOTS, THAT'S RIGHT! THIS HAS BEEN ROBOTFUCKER PROPA-
I'm joking.
I just wanted to speculate about a different kind of Automatron we could have gotten.
I like to imagine that Jezebel would give you Ammo to help "Save" People.

the way this infamous fallout 4 nuka-world dlc quest where you kill all the raiders (the only way to not be Evil in this paid expansion) works is that technically you just need to kill the named leaders of the raider gangs to complete the quest, but killing any of them will make you infamous to the nuka world raiders faction, so all of the rest of them will attack you in sight until they die. so in effect you do have to kill all of them. This is normally an enormous task, since there are so many of them, but what I have been doing because I’m a stealth player is sneaking up behind each unnamed raider and sneak killing them, one by one, without touching the leaders yet. The entire park is littered with corpses and my sneak is so jacked that i can literally kill someone right in front of someone else and they're just like Oh dead body here

My fav Fallout Fanfic (fixes) Ideas
- "what do you mean your wife had been kidnapped AGAIN!?"
- getting Danse out of his power armour and joining the minutemen post blind betrayal
- Glory as a snarky BAMF friend
- "aNoThEr SeTtlEmEnT nEeDs YoUr HeLp!" Then how about YOU go do it Preston? Theres literally a castle full of minutemen - send them I'm busy doing better shit
- Valentine taking a gen 3 synth body when his old body was damaged too much after a fight went bad.
- sleeping with Valentine in his new body and new desires ;)
- ask WHY the FUCK does the GENERAL of the friggin MINUTEMEN have to go to your shithole settlement tO PLANT YOUR CORN FOR YOU!?
- being gay (not bi)
- being demisexual and admitting to not having loved your spouse (maybe Shaun was even adopted) but finding someone they truly love and want. Being demi myself I dont like the game love confessions being spiced with 'I will always love my wife but you too'.
- sitting Curie down to awkwardly have the sex talk
- love interests who aren't hung up on their exes or former factions without an arc of moving beyond it (AD VICTORIUM my ass)
- Bringing Duncan to live in Sanctuary
- Shaun and Duncan as little mischievous best friends
- HOW the FUCK does a housewife know how to build a a bed and generator out of a teddy bear and like 3 broken light bulbs?
- scolding Father like naughty child
- some brotherhood soldiers joining the minutemen
- telling Gage about being the minutemen General and explaining why he cant let Shank destroy that
- buff strong Hancock who dumped the chems for Sole who gives him purpose and happiness the chems never could
-freeing the slaves in Nuka World without having to kill everyone else in the park
- introducing Danse to the railroad
- LIs open to polygamy or honest about wanting monogamy and not liking to share.
- making Elder Maxson smile and being someone he can finally rely on and who listens without an agenda or expecting something from him.
- Hancock not being 'full ghoul'. He is a ghoul yes but not a 200 year old one, drugs did that not the bombs. Let him have specks of blue in those black eyes, half a nose, maybe some hair.

some primo sleazery from my ridiculously modded playthrough of Fallout 4 as everyone's favourite spiteful one-eyed cannibalistic ghoul, The Bastard
the benefit of the writing in this game being really bad is that it makes it really easy to be mean to people, especially with the Nuka World raider king DLC. granted I had to buy a black market product key to get it, but it was worth it to be able to use the mod that let me betray every single one of those mediocre, wishy-washy factions without having to side with any of them, similar to the Wild Card route in New Vegas.
in any case, it's definitely a game that requires a lot of futzing to get feeling good and even then you still need to find your own fun. for example, here's me eating the corpse of Preston Garvey:

Did Lily ever hookup with any of the other companions and what factions did she work with before arriving to Nuka World?
Was she the typical civilian (minuteman type) and got corrupted by the wasteland/enticed by the raiders of Nuka World or was she always a little Neutral Evil?
Sorry if this is a bit of a long ask I'm just curious 😂
Never apologize for a long ask!! I love in depth questions like this!! I really loved this ask and was so excited I had to answer this the moment I saw it!! This answer is super long btw! I couldn't JUST answer these questions, I had to give you a full history of my OC.
So I have been thinking of Lilly's story for a long time, along with her character development. She is originally based on my evil Overboss playthrough of Fallout 4 where I completely ignore the main story LOL. I get to Nuka World as soon as possible by leveling up, mostly by doing Good Neighbor and Cabot family/Edward Deegan missions.
So Lilly's story isn't quite set in stone! But my main idea so far is that she is pre-war. Lilly does come from Vault 111 but she isn't the mother of Shaun and isn't the Sole Survivor. That's her brothers problem, who gets out of the vault a few days before she does. He goes one way, using his military training and desire for revenge to survive, becoming the leader of the minutemen(or he joins the Brotherhood. Maybe both?? idk yet) Meanwhile Lilly escapes Vault 111 and goes a completely different direction.
The vault is picked clean, and the body's of her brother and nephew are missing, while her sister in laws corpse has a bullet in her skull. Lilly finds no sign of her brother, and doesn't search too hard either. She leaves the vault, avoiding the neighborhood of Sanctuary and the possible people that lived there, their campfires burning brightly in the night only deterring her away.
Lilly's pre-war life wasn't military like her brothers. She was a "no good hippie" who was between jobs and staying with her brother and his wife until she "got back on her feet," Her brother took her in. In return she would help her PTSD stricken brother and his depressed wife take care of their brand new infant son.
Lilly was seen as no good to most in the pre irradiated world. She had been a part of the large underground punk scene in Boston, becoming a disgrace to her family and a nuisance towards the police. Her life had always been chaos, never knowing quite what she wanted to do as she jumped from job to job trying to keep money in her pocket that was instantly spent on drugs and lipstick.
Lilly doesn't even spare a second glance at the vault or neighborhood as she heads into the wasteland. She is more than prepared to leave her old life behind in the ashes of the old world, so she immediately finds a change of clothes, some chems, and heads towards Boston. She doesn't know why Boston, maybe just morbid curiosity of what the city had turned into. Maybe in search for drugs and answers to why she was still living. Her mindset is that of a depressed addict. Nothing on her mind but that next hit that would bring her that sweet rush of endorphins.
She enters the world with little to no knowledge. She can fight decently with her fists and switchblade, pick locks, run her mouth and hardly shoot a gun. She has a rough time getting to Boston, the weirdly smart German Shepherd she finds at a gas station, and lovingly names Dogmeat, helps her survive her first few weeks in the wasteland.
Soon she finds herself in Boston, and like all drifters, she quickly finds herself in Goodneighbor. She immediately sees the potential in the city and in its mob boss ghoul mayor. Lilly and Hancock quickly become romantically involved. (She is def fucking Maccready in secret too. But RJ is nothing more than some fun to her. She also has a fling with Edward Deegan who she also meets in Goodneighbor when he comes offering a job.)
In my au Hancock is a bit darker and mob boss like, Lilly corrupting him slightly. She helps clean up the city, both metaphorically and physically. She wipes the triggermen out, and takes down Marowski. Long story short they take over his chem empire and become the main chem bosses and suppliers of the commonwealth. They build Goodneigbor into an empire. Her charisma and luck are incredibly high, making it all the easier for her.
John teaches Lilly about the Commonwealth, about proper fighting and weapons. She gains as much knowledge as she can about the new world, settling into the line of leadership and manipulation well. But John wants something real and long term. He loves her, but Lilly doesn't love him in return. He has big ideas for the future, from helping synths to building supply lines to marrying her. Lilly doesn't share the same feelings or ambitions, so she leaves.
She takes her knowledge and weapons of the new world and leaves Goodneighbor without warning and without a trace. She disappears yet again into the wasteland until the best thing to ever happen to her since finding Dogmeat happens. She finds Nuka World and meets Porter Gage. Or maybe he finds her instead?? I don't quite have how they meet picked out yet but I have some ideas!
So yes, Lilly has always been a bit evil! She had a few loose screws in the beginning and the Cryo pod only made it worse. She is corrupted before the bombs, but the wasteland corrupts her further and further. By the time she reaches Nuka World she is already a pretty bad person who is scarred inside and out. Meeting and joining the raiders only corrupt her further. Gage actually helps her get clean and off of chems, but she does get a little crazier. But she couldn't be happier. Porter Gage and Nuka World become her lifeline.
Gage does change her for the better. Lilly finally able to commit to things in her life for once, like her romantic relationship with Gage and job as Overboss.
Fun fact: I actually named Lilly after my evil five pound toy poodle. Lilly is a grumpy old bitch of a dog. She is my whole entire world but she has some screws loose for sure.
So the short answer: Yes! She does hook up with other companions, but only John Hancock and RJ maccready. She also sleeps with Edward Deegan, having a short fling with him. All of these relationships are nothing compared to what she has with Porter Gage, their bond being actual love. Lilly is factionless, choosing to go her own way entirely. She becomes a mob boss before completely ditching that life and disappearing on the irradiated wind before finding Nuka World. Starting over with yet another new life. Lilly is a bit evil from the beginning, but the wasteland does corrupt her further.

There should have been a faction in Fallout 4 that was dedicated solely to repairing the downtown Boston monorail. Didn’t give a fuck about the Nuka World one or the trains across the Commonwealth just the Boston monorail

After reading through some of the Fallout 4 posts, I really wanna ask what you thought of the game's DLC? (if you played it). Of particular interest is the Nuka World chunk considering... well, pretty much everything about it.
Wrote up my thoughts on the DLC here. In regards to Nuka-World in particular- it suffers from the obvious problem that it introduces an "evil option" that really, really doesn't mess with how most people are going to play the majority of the base game content, and the "Good" option (Killing the fuck out of all three gangs) is a very.... watery substitute to, like, building a DLC you can actually engage with in full from multiple angles. I did enjoy several of the sidequests. And it gets points for introducing visually distinct raider gangs- extensive raider factionalism in the Fallout 4 basegame exists but there are no outward markers of it (likely because the terminal lore stuff is comparatively easy to slap together later in development.)

You can ally yourself with Crater, you kinda have to for the main quest a bit but honestly you don't even have to do the main quest. I just wanted to do it as soon as possible because I am, above all else, a ghoul lover and I could not not resist. I know the Settlers have their own ghouls in the Settler quest line but.... I kinda like Lou more than a character that turned the Ash Heap into well... The Ash Heap, among many MANY other things. Sure, he's a Raider but really the Raiders aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be in Fallout 76. Which also tries it's hardest to make them seem like... The worst while actively going against what the leader of the Raiders at Crater, Meg, says and believes. Settlers keep running up to me asking what I see in the Raiders and almost none of the answers the game gives you to respond with really truly fit how the Raiders actually act when you get to know them. The Raiders at Crater are VERY different from the Raiders that used to be in Appalachia going off of Rose's whole quest line (she's a part of one of the old Raider Groups known as the Cutthroats) as well as the Raiders from the other games. It's a whole ass thing. I originally had my character start out with the idea that they were going to be a Raider but then Tommy Ten Toes and Eugenie roped me into the Blue Ridge Caravan Company so I ended up being a strange mix of both and my camp just kinda followed with that.
But yeah I tried to rush through the main quest a bit, to the point where I had the Wayward questline active for like 2 months and I hardly even touched it because I was too busy eating corpses for Rose, shooting some guy named David to death for Rose, becoming a responder, running all the way to Fort Atlas Specifically to meet Tommy Ten Toes Specifically, and then not doing anything but taking screenshots of myself and Tommy, and "making friends" with a Deathclaw. Also for Rose. Her entire questline was tedious and it felt like I was doing a whole lot for hardly any reward. Literally only do this if you intend to be friendly with the Raiders. In fact you kinda have to do it to be friendly with the Raiders. Cuz you gotta earn Rose's trust in order for her to set you up in a meeting with Meg. And then you also have to do the Overseer's dumb little vaccine quest. Meanwhile I was more than happy to do the actual Crater quests because of Lou.
Tumblr media
He means absolutely everything to me and I'd do anything for him. And I mean anything.
I'm so fucking normal about Lou I swear.
i have very little context for any of this bc im too new to the game (i stumbled across crater completely randomly and just wandered around talking to people, ) so i dont really have a lot of input here
they seem less... absurdly violent as the nuka world raiders at least, and most of the people in there seemed rough but not Outright Evil. theres a kid in there. i dont really want to pick a fight if i dont have to
honestly im not really following any specific line or faction im just out here vibing. im exploring im doing whatever's interesting at the moment
that said; Ghouls You Say, 👀

SO AS SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, given the whole 'got hacked and all my shit got deleted' situation, the Nuka-World: Summer of 2287 roleplay server is gone for good :(
but please, do not despair, as I come with wonderful news:
I'm in charge of the NUKA-WORLD roleplay over on the Fallout Roleplaying Discord server, and I also get to play as none other than OVERBOSS ANDREA "THAT THANG" JIMÉNEZ!
the server itself is run by really lovely staff and an admin who is maybe even more excited than I am to get this ball rolling, and I'm bringing some features from the grave such as the Bounty Board where you can run jobs for the bosses of the park. the server is also packed with a bunch of fun stuff separate from Nuka-World, like bi-monthly raffles, dice rolling mechanics, and all the joy of your favourite Fallout 4 factions and beyond!
but no park is complete without a colourful cast, so if you were on the NUKA-WORLD: SUMMER OF 2287 server, or wanted to join and never got the chance: this is your opportunity to really dig your teeth into a fun and active server with a bunch of people to roleplay with!
Feel free to join here, make a character, chat to people, and help me make Nuka-World once again the place to be this summer! okay. hugs and kisses. bye.
