Web Series Review: Panchayat Season 3
Star Cast: Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, Sanvikaa, Pankaj Jha
Tumblr media
Director: Deepak Kumar Mishra
Synopsis: PANCHAYAT SEASON 3 is the story of the feud between a villager and an egoistic MLA. After the events of the second season, a new 'Sachiv' (Vinod Suryavanshi) arrives in Phulera. Brij Bhushan Dubey (Raghubir Yadav), the Pradhan Pati, devises a plan. He keeps the Panchayat office locked on the day of the new Sachin's joining. Brij even doesn't pick up his call and so does Vikas (Chandan Roy). The new Sachiv complains to the MLA Chandrakishore Singh (Pankaj Jha), who in turn, complains to the DM (Kusum Shastri). The DM urgently calls Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), the Pradhan, to her office. Manju and Prahlad (Faisal Malik), the Up-Pradhan, make it clear that they want Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) back as the Sachiv. As luck would have it, the same day, the MLA is jailed for killing a dog. The DM cancels Abhishek's transfer and asks him to join Phulera Gram Panchayat. Brij, Manju, Vikas and Prahlad are overjoyed to have Abhishek back with them. But there are certain problems in front of the village. Prahlad is depressed over the death of his son, Rahul (Shiv Swaroop) and has turned an alcoholic as well. Meanwhile, the Gram Panchayat elections are around the corner and Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar) is determined to win at any cost. As part of his strategy, he decides to send an olive branch to the MLA. Soon, this leads to utter chaos and madness in Phulera. What happens next forms the rest of the show.
Panchayat Season 3 Story Review: Chandan Kumar's story is terrific and the writer manages to neatly take the story forward. Chandan Kumar's screenplay is very effective and is peppered with lots of entertaining and dramatic moments. But the surprise this season is that the show scores big time with the emotional scenes as well. Chandan Kumar's dialogues are sharp and hilarious as required. Some dialogues are bound to become memes, just like it happened in the previous season. A few one-liners, however, do give a feeling that they were written keeping in mind that it'll become meme-worthy.
Deepak Kumar Mishra's direction is praiseworthy. Like the previous seasons, the execution is neat and uncomplicated. Often, several cult shows tend to disappoint in the subsequent seasons. But PANCHAYAT has proved to be an exception. The writer and director have taken care that nothing is added for the heck of it and at the same time, the new developments carry the essence of the show. This time, the stakes are higher and hence, even the tension levels go high in some scenes.
On the flipside, some developments are silly. For instance, the idea of the Pradhan to not pick up the call of the new Sachiv is childish. But since it leads to LOL-worthy moments, one won't mind. The same happens with the scene where a family is given a house under the PM Awas Yojana scheme though they don't qualify for it. The reason behind it is far-fetched. However, it makes for a nice watch. Secondly, the romance between Abhishek and Rinki (Sanvikaa) doesn't progress much and it's a bit of a downer.
Tumblr media
PANCHAYAT SEASON 3 begins on a very entertaining note and the first episode sets the mood. The sequence between Prahlad and Damyanti Devi (Abha Sharma) is lovely and the most emotional sequence of the show. The real fun begins once the MLA arrives in the village for a truce meeting. The scene starts ordinarily but ends on a high and is sure to bring the house down. From here, the show is highly entertaining. This time, there's also action and the final episode is very nail-biting. The last 10 minutes give a 'Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara' or 'Lonavala mein kya hua' (THE FAMILY MAN) vibe and enhance the excitement for Season 4.
Panchayat Season 3 Performances: Jitendra Kumar doesn’t have much to do initially but later on, dominates the show. He’s totally gotten into the skin of the character by now and is very impressive. Raghubir Yadav, too, puts his best foot forward. Neena Gupta is first-rate and this time, her character gets a deeper understanding of politics. This adds a lot to her role and also her performance. Chandan Roy lends able support, as always. Faisal Malik has a difficult role this time but comes out with flying colours. Sanvikaa is a fine talent and her mere presence instantly lifts the impact of a scene. Pankaj Jha is outstanding as the antagonist. The same goes for Durgesh Kumar. Sunita Rajwar (Kranti Devi; Bhushan's wife) leaves a huge mark. Ashok Pathak (Binod) this time has a longer role, considering the popularity of his memes perhaps, and does very well. Asif Khan (Ganesh) is highly entertaining while Aanchal Tiwari (Raveena) is sweet. Abha Sharma is adorable and Vishal Yadav (Jagmohan) makes his presence felt. Prateek Pachauri (Babloo) and Ebaabdullah Khan (Dabloo) are funny. The others who do well are Tript Sahu (Khushu; Vikas's wife), Bulloo Kumar (Madhav; who sides with Bhushan), Gaurav Singh (Chottan Singh; MLA's PA), Amit Kumar Maurya (Bam Bahadur), Kusum Shastri, Vinod Suryavanshi, Shrikant Verma (Parmeshwar), Vishwanath Chatterjee (Sanjay Yadav; cop) and Diwakar Dhayani (BDO). Kirandeep Kaur (Chitra; MLA's daughter) doesn’t have much to do and hopefully, will have a stronger part in Season 4. Lastly, Swananad Kirkire (MP) has a promising cameo.
Panchayat Season 3 music and other technical aspects: Anurag Saikia's music enhances the impact. As for the songs, the Manoj Tiwari track is damn good. But watch out for 'Thame Dil Ko', sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya. Amitabha Singh's cinematography is satisfactory. The bird's eye view shots of the village, especially, are memorable. Karishma Vyas' costumes and Naveen Lohara and Sayali Naikwadi Singh's production design are straight out of life. The action is realistic. Amit Kulkarni's editing is smooth.
Panchayat Season 3 Conclusion: On the whole, PANCHAYAT SEASON 3 fulfils all the humongous expectations and rests on bravura performances, some funny and dramatic sequences, nail-biting climax and meme-worthy dialogues. This time, the show also scores on the emotional front and also boasts of action scenes. Thanks to the insane popularity and word of mouth, the third season is bound to emerge as one of the most most-watched or maybe the most most-watched show for Amazon Prime Video this year. Recommended!

Panchayat (2020 - )
Season 3: As the Panchayat elections approach, both Pradhan and Bhushan gangs engage in a fierce battle to uplift their public image. Navigating the murky waters of Phulera politics, Abhishek does his best to maintain his objectivity.
Another excellent season that is perfect for binge-watching. I love the humour and simplicity of this series, which looks very lighthearted on the surface but also covers some interesting topics about rural life in India. The writing and cast are brilliant. The only downside of this series is that it seems to take almost two years for them to make eight episodes! I truly hope they make season 4 as soon as possible. A must-watch if you like good humour, original writing, and top-notch acting.

🇮🇱SRI LANKA TRAVEL WARNING, POLICE DRAMA - Real time from Israel
ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
( VIDEO - The remains of Kfar Kila, a southern Lebanese near-border Hezbollah village that also acted as a major launch site. )
✡️Tonight is SIMCHAT TORAH starts tonight, where we celebrate with the Torah!  Chag Samayach, a joyful holiday!
.. Several rabbis have noted: How can we celebrate when this war started on this holiday last year?  When so many fell, so many remain hostages, so many are fighting and so many have given their lives in our defense?
They answer: very much in the name of the fallen, in the name of the hostages, in the name of the Jewish people and those who have sacrificed, WE WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENEMY to destroy our holiday, to destroy our joy and celebration.
AM YISROEL CHAI, the Jewish people live!  We will celebrate, we will win, we will honor their sacrifice.
✡️As a Jewish holy-day, we DO NOT POST news from sundown for 26 hours unless there is a LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY.
⚠️ISRAEL NATIONAL SECURITY TRAVEL WARNING.. calls on the Israelis to immediately leave the Arugam Bay area and the coastal area in the south and west of Sri Lanka due to terror threat to Israeli tourists, following a warning about a terrorist squad of the Revolutionary Guards mission in the area.
⚠️ HOME FRONT COMMAND - - if you find rocket or drone debris during holiday outdoor activity, DO NOT TOUCH IT - contact Home Front (dial 104) or the Police (dial 100).  The parts may be dangerous or toxic, or be important for security.
♦️LEBANON - TZUR-TYRE.. Civil Defense in Tyre walks the streets of the city and asks citizens through loudspeakers to evacuate immediately.  The Civil Defense closed the entrances to the city of Tyre to prevent entry.  Heavy IDF attacks.
♦️LEBANON - (enemy reports) Dozens of IDF air force attacks on more than 20 villages and towns in Lebanon.
🔹IRANIAN TERROR PROPAGANDA.. a new mural in the center of Tehran: No (Israeli) hostage will be released.
🔹HOUTHIS CLEAR THEIR PORT?  Houthi leader Abdel Malik al Houthi issued an urgent order to the owners of the containers in the port to clear out the Hodediah port, immediately.  ???
🔹GERMANY SAYS.. German Foreign Minister: Israel succeeded in weakening Hezbollah to a great extent, and the task now is to reach an effective diplomatic solution.
🔹US INTEL AIRCRAFT.. The US is operating reconnaissance aircraft in the Persian Gulf to monitor the movements of Iranian surface-to-surface missiles.
🔹US SEC STATE GOES TO SAUDI ARABIA.. from Israel.  Riyadh: The American Secretary of State in Lincoln met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, and talked with them about "the developments in Gaza and Lebanon"
▪️ON ISRAEL APPROVING THE NEW COVID VACCINE.. I received significant STRONG negative feedback about the Israel Min. Of Health approving and bringing into the fall vaxx schedule the new COVID vaccine.  It has become ridiculously difficult to determine the facts around COVID vaccines, and I can only advise to consult with a trusted medical professional before taking this vaccine, and there are categories of people who should clearly avoid it such as men under 30.
.. Israel no longer has public COVID testing, COVID (and flu, and both together, and strep - quick test kits are available at pharmacies), so there is no case rate data.
.. The last info I can find on COVID in Israel is 14 cases hospitalized in June, all seniors with other health problems. This is the “from COVID or with COVID” argument, and the article seems to state “with”.

A father accused of murdering his daughter in a “campaign of abuse” told police he “legally punished her and she died”, a court heard.
Sara Sharif, 10, was discovered lying in her bed at her home in Woking, Surrey, with dozens of injuries including burns, broken bones and extensive bruising on Aug 10 last year.
Her father Urfan Sharif, 42, stepmother, Beinash Batool, 30, and uncle, Faisal Malik, 28, appeared for trial at the Old Bailey on Monday accused of her murder.
The court heard that Sara suffered “appalling and brutal” abuse “for weeks and weeks” before her death.
Opening the case, William Emlyn Jones KC, said it was “inconceivable” that only one of the defendants could have carried out the “campaign of abuse” without the “complicity, participation, assistance and encouragement of others”.
He said that the three accused were all “pointing the finger at each other” and refusing to take responsibility for Sara’s death.
Ms Batool will claim that her husband was a “violent disciplinarian” while Mr Sharif will claim Sara was primarily looked after by his wife, the court heard.
All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to her murder and to causing or allowing the death of a child between Dec 16 2022 and August 9 2023.
The court heard that in the early hours of Aug 10 last year, an eight-and-a-half-minute long phone call was made by Mr Sharif to police in the UK.
The operator initially struggled to hear Mr Sharif, who appeared to be emotional, Mr Emlyn Jones KC, said.
“[They] interrupted and said ‘take a deep breath and tell me what’s happened’. 999 operators are used to hearing all kinds of dreadful things, but this one cannot have expected the answer he got to that question.”
The court heard that Mr Sharif, a taxi driver, told the operator “I’ve killed my daughter” before adding “I legally punished her and she died”.
When pressed for more details, he replied: “She was naughty”, and then “I beat her up, it wasn’t my intention to kill her, but I beat her up too much”, the court heard.
In the call, he is heard begging the police to go to his home “because his daughter is alone”.
At the home address on Hammond Road, in an upstairs bedroom, on the bottom bunk, police found Sara “as if asleep”.
“But she was not asleep,” Mr Emlyn Jones said, “She was dead. Her name was Sara Sharif, and she had been just 10 years old when she was killed.”
The court heard that next to her body was a note ‘in Urfan Sharif’s handwriting’, which read: “It’s me Urfan Sharif who killed my daughter by beating”, and “I swear to God that my intention was not to kill her. But I lost it”.
The note also said: “I am running away because I am scared.”
Mr Emlyn Jones said: “It was certainly true that he ran away… In fact the whole family ran they fled to Pakistan, flying out on August 9 and landing on August 10.”
Sharif had not called the police until he was “thousands of miles away”, the prosecutor added.
He told the jurors that throughout the trial, they would hear evidence from Sara’s school and neighbours.
He said that Sara had been withdrawn from her school to be home-schooled a few months before she died.
The prosecutor added that evidence from text messages and neighbours would give a “snapshot of what life in that house was like”.
Mr Emlyn Jones said that Sharif’s claim that he “beat up” his daughter “came nowhere near to describing the extent of the violence and the physical abuse Sara suffered”.
He told the court that the schoolgirl had “been the victim of assault and physical abuse for weeks and weeks at least”.
Doctors found “dozens of separate injuries” both “externally and internally”. She had suffered extensive bruising, burns and broken bones.
“So no, Sara had not just been beaten up. Her treatment, certainly in the last few weeks of her life, had been appalling; it had been brutal.”
He added: “At the heart of this case lies a simple but depressing truth. A 10-year-old girl was found dead in her home; examination of her body shows that she had been subjected to repeated serious violence over a significant period of time.”
Mr Emlyn Jones said all three defendants had been charged with murder because it was “inconceivable” the others would not have known.
He continued: “It is inconceivable that one of the adults alone, or two of them, could have carried out what amounts to a campaign of abuse without the complicity, participation, assistance and encouragement of the others.
“None of them ever reported Sara’s abuse to any outside agency, who could have intervened; Sara’s medical records tell us that none of the injuries she received was ever reported, or shown to a doctor, or to staff at her school; no outside help was called.
“None of the defendants did anything to prevent what was happening to Sara, as they surely would have done if they had not been complicit in what was happening. The prosecution case is that they are all responsible for her death, and they are all guilty of her murder.”
‘Serious and repeated violence’
The court heard that “all of the defendants accept that Sara had suffered serious and repeated violence within the family home”.
However, Mr Emlyn Jones said: “Each of them denies that they were the one responsible for any of that violence and abuse.
“Each of them seeks to deflect the blame onto one or both of the others, to shift responsibility away from themselves, onto someone else.”
Mr Sharif, the court heard, would seek to claim that he was not responsible for the violence, as he was often out working.
He said Sara was primarily looked after by his wife, Ms Batool.
He claimed that his apparent confessions in the note and the video call were false and he had only made them to protect his partner.
Ms Batool blamed Sara’s death on Sharif who she described as a “violent disciplinarian” who regularly assaulted his daughter.
She will argue that although she knew what was happening she was too fearful of her husband to intervene.
Malik claims that he was unaware of any of the abuse being perpetrated against Sara.
Mr Emlyn Jones said the case was bound to generate “strong emotions; distress, disgust, great sadness and doubtless even anger.”
The trial, set to last for nine weeks, continues.

Quarry cats and clay firing
initially, I had hoped to stay away from fire or firemaking for these spec cats as it seems highly improbable to me that a cat would utilize fire within the timeline ive established, though if i want any form or long term liquid or water storage, fired clay seems to be it.
firing clay removes all moisture from the clay and makes it resistant to degradation when wet
i am uncertain if clay has to be fired to retain the needed qualities for food preservation that was developed in necessity due to surplus food post-deercat. originally they were burying the dried meat in clay and digging it up when necessary
long term food preservation is still unmatched when using dried clay, as seen below.
as for access to fire, the cats are already in a human made quarry and there is repeated precedence for long burning underground fires due to mishaps, and while unlikely, it becomes more interesting with the inclusion of such a situation
