A Saudi Man donated “$16 Billion” In Charity and kicked himself out of the billionaires club.
In the Muslim world, the Arabs are considered the richest. They spent a lot of amount on buying cars, gold, and ships, investing in the business, and purchasing big market shares. The lavish lifestyle had put the attention of the media towards them.
Yet Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al Rajhi revealed in an interview that he’s no stranger to poverty, having been penniless on two separate occasions in his life.
Sulaiman Al Rajhi started working when he was nine as a porter, carrying shopping luggage for shoppers at Riyadh’s Al Khadra market. At 12, he started collecting palm dates for a job that paid him no more than six Saudi Riyals per month. He used to sleep on gravel at the same workplace wearing the same outfit he wears during his hard work.
He appreciates his wealth and knows others will benefit too. ‘In the past, I never gave money to my children when they were young in return for nothing. When one of them approached me to give them cash, I asked them to do some work in exchange for it,’ he said.
In 1957, Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al Rajhi cofounded Al Rajhi Bank with his three brothers. It grew into one of the world’s largest Islamic banks and earned Al Rajhi a 10-digit net worth.
The Rajhi family is considered to be Saudi Arabia’s wealthiest non-royals and one of the world’s leading philanthropists, whose wealth was built from scratch.
As part of his philanthropy, he established the Sulaiman Al Rajhi University, a non-profit university that focuses mainly on health and Islamic banking.
In 2012, Rajhi received the King Faisal International Prize for dedicating half his fortune to charity as well as starting an Islamic bank that supports charity work and implements effective national projects.
Apart from that, Rajhi has dedicated his bank shares (worth $3.7 billion, according to Forbes Middle East), his poultry farm, and other assets to a charitable endowment that funds anti-hunger efforts and education in the kingdom.
This Saudi businessman has just taken Snap Chat to a whole new level by revealing the extent of his charity efforts through the social media platform, Sheikh Suleiman al-Rajhi got thousands to tune into the Snap Chat interview, conducted by social media star Mansour al-Reqeiba.
$16 billion (60 billion riyals) is the amount of money he has donated throughout his lifetime, he said – an amount that is considered one of the largest endowments made in the Islamic world and which has yet to be matched.
He has given away two-thirds of his entire wealth to charity in the form of waqf –an Islamic endowment- and the remaining one-third to his family.
The 95-year-old is the founder of Sulaiman Bin Abdul Aziz Rajhi Charitable Foundation, which supports educational, religious, health, and social causes. The foundation has donated to the Arab Institute for Arabic Language, National Guard Health Affairs, and the Sheikh Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al Rajhi Mosque in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Now let me tell you what Waqf is. “Waqf,” refers to the donation of valuable goods including money, buildings, land, or other assets to the public – with no intention of reclaiming them back.
The donated assets are no longer owned by anybody and cannot be bought or sold, nor can they be used for generating profit.

Allah says in surah al-Nisa':
[وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا أَوْ رُدُّوهَا]
And when you are greeted with a greeting, then respond with a better greeting or return it. [86]
In his tafsir of this ayah, al-Tabari mentioned the following reports:
al-Suddi said: When someone gives salam to you, then you should say, "wa 'alaikum al-salam wa rahmatullaah" or stop at, "al-salam 'alaikum" just as they said to you.
Qatadah said: "And when you are greeted with a greeting, then respond with a better greeting" - that is for the Muslims - "or return it" - that is for the People of the Book.
[Tafsir al-Tabari 8/586-588. These two reports were selected by sheikh Faisal Aal Mubarak in his tafsir of this ayah]

*I don't know if any of you noticed that we didn't cover any news about the passage of the Sa'ar 6 warship through the Suez Canal flying the enemy's flag. We also barely mentioned news about the docking of the ship loaded with explosives coming from Portugal for the entity in the port of Alexandria, and it was reported by the enemy's media...*
*Most of those who publish to attack the normalizing regime in Egypt, do not speak when the same shipments and planes loaded with bombs for the benefit of the entity pass through all the bases of the normalizing Americans, Arabs and Turks in the region. I will suffice with naming only one base from each country so as not to make the idea too long, knowing that there is more than one base in most of these countries:*
*Incirlik Base - Turkey, Al Udeid Base - Qatar, Muwaffaq Al Salti Base - Jordan, King Faisal Base - Saudi Arabia, Ali Al Salem Base - Kuwait, Sheikh Isa Base - Bahrain, Al Dhafra Base - Emirates, Nimro 3 Base - Egypt, Al Masirah Base - Oman.*
*All these regimes participate in killing the people of Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen with America and Israel by simply allowing the passage of weapons and goods to Israel in conjunction with the ongoing genocide... But of course no one listens to you, so wretched is your "religion", your Arabism and your breath...*
*Our battle today has no time to talk about your treachery and normalization... Our focus and interest is on who will defeat you and your masters and nothing else.*
*The hand of God is above their hands.*
*In short, we are fighting their masters and with God's help and guidance, when we defeat their masters, They will follow them to the palaces (dunghills) of exile in Europe and America.*

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar killed in Gaza, Hezbollah launches “new escalatory phase”
Hezbollah has announced a “new phase of escalation” in the conflict with Israel following the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The escalation of the confrontation will be indicated by upcoming actions, the Lebanese organisation’s press office said on Friday.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar killed in Gaza
The Israeli military said on Thursday it had killed Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, who is believed to have been the architect of the attack on Israel on October 7 last year. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announcing the killing, said:
“While this is not the end of the war in Gaza, it’s the beginning of the end.”
Netanyahu said Sinwar was killed in the Gaza town of Rafah. Hamas has not yet confirmed the death. Sinwar was killed in a random clash with Israeli troops in southern Gaza and was only later identified.
Israel Defence Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said the military spotted three men running from house to house and engaged them before splitting up. He said the man, later identified as Sinwar, “ran alone into one of the buildings” and was killed after being spotted by a drone.
Drone footage released by Israel on Thursday purportedly captured the Hamas leader’s last moments before he was killed. The video shows a wounded man sitting with his head covered on a chair in a nearly destroyed building. The man is seen throwing a stick at a drone, after which the footage ends.
World reaction to the assassination of the head of Hamas
US President Joe Biden, commenting on Sinwar’s death, said the Hamas leader was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians and Americans, among others. He also added:
“This is a good day for Israel, for the United States, and for the world.”
The US President said there was now an opportunity for a “political settlement that provides a better future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the assassination of the head of Hamas and a settlement in the Gaza Strip on Thursday in phone conversations with his Saudi and Qatari counterparts, according to written statements from State Department press chief Matthew Miller.
He said the US foreign policy chief and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud spoke about “the death of Yahya Sinwar and the importance of ongoing efforts to end the conflict and release all hostages.” Miller also added:
“The Secretary discussed ongoing work towards a post-conflict period in Gaza that ensures Hamas does not remain in power and provides a path for the people of Gaza to rebuild their lives and realise their aspirations.”
According to him, the US and Saudi diplomatic chiefs also spoke “about the situation in Lebanon and the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to all vulnerable populations.”
As specified by the head of the press service of the State Department, Blinken and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani discussed “the death of Yahya Sinwar and the need to redouble efforts to end the conflict and release the hostages.” They also talked about the arrangement in the Gaza Strip after the cessation of hostilities there.
Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said “Sinwar’s death ends a reign of terror.” He also added Hamas “must lay down its arms, release the hostages, and play no future role in the governance of Gaza,” and reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire to end the suffering in Gaza.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said “Sinwar was a brutal murderer and terrorist, who wanted to destroy Israel and its people.” She also added Hamas must immediately release all hostages and lay down its weapons, saying “the suffering of the people in Gaza must finally end.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said:
“I am convinced that a new phase must now begin: it is time for all hostages to be released, for an immediate ceasefire to be declared and for reconstruction to begin in Gaza.”
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said:
“Sinwar was the leader of a terrorist organisation, the terrorist organisation of Hamas. And he was basically the mastermind behind the 7th of October with the killings, the massacres, the rapes and the kidnapping. So his death is certainly significantly weakening Hamas.”
European Union foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said “[Sinwar] was an obstacle to an urgently needed ceasefire and the unconditional release of all hostages.” Later, he added:
“There must be an end to violence, liberation of hostages and stop to the suffering of Palestinians.”
Iran’s permanent mission to the UN said the killing of Sinwar would only strengthen the spirit of the Palestinian resistance. The Iranian diplomatic mission said in a message published in X on October 17:
“The spirit of resistance will only be strengthened. He (Sinwar) will become a role model for the youth and children who will continue his journey to liberate Palestine. As long as there is aggression and occupation, the resistance will continue.”
The killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza is a major victory for Israel after a year-long hunt for the man believed to be the mastermind behind the deadliest terror attack in the country’s history, CNN reports.
Experts say it could bring the devastating war in Gaza to a close if Israel and its allies can seize the opportunity.
Harel Chorev, a senior fellow at the Moshe Dayan Centre at Tel Aviv University, told CNN that Sinwar’s death could be a deadly blow to Hamas because of the way he led the group. Chorev said that before the war, power in Hamas was decentralised – Sinwar, the political head of Gaza, was just one of many leaders – but that has changed over the past year. He also added:
“Sinwar became the sole decision maker, and of course, he grew stronger and stronger as Israel killed more and more important figures, such as (Hamas’ military chief) Mohammed Deif.”
New Hamas head
The head of the Hamas movement’s office abroad, Khaled Mashal, has taken over as head of the organisation after the Israeli army killed Yahya Sinwar, Lebanese media reported.
Khaled Mashal has assumed the role of acting head of the movement and is now in charge of all communications with key parties involved in hostage negotiations. The media reported that “Hamas leadership informed Turkish, Qatari and Egyptian officials of Sinwar’s death in the Tel al-Sultan operation and that negotiations on prisoner exchange and an end to the war would become increasingly difficult following his killing.”
Hezbollah launches “new escalatory phase”
On Thursday, Hezbollah announced the launch of a “new escalatory phase” in its confrontation with Israel. In a statement, the Lebanese party said:
“In line with the directives of the Resistance leadership, the Islamic Resistance Operations Room announces the transition to a new, escalatory phase in the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, the details of which will unfold in the coming days.”
The report also noted that the organisation’s fighters are striking “Israeli enemy concentrations in military installations and barracks along the border… as well as in settlements and occupied northern towns” using “various types of rockets, including precision missiles used for the first time.”
In a related development, Hezbollah also referred to killing “55 Israeli enemy officers and soldiers” and wounding “more than 500” in Lebanon.
On Friday, Hezbollah said in a series of statements that two clusters of Israeli soldiers near the town of Aita al-Shaab were hit by heavy rocket fire. The second attack came as Israeli soldiers were trying to evacuate their wounded and dead.
In addition, the party stated:
“After monitoring the movements of Israeli enemy soldiers on the outskirts of the town of Kafr Kila, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted them with artillery shells at 1:05 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024.”
The attacks were carried out “in support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with their brave and noble resistance, as well as in defence of Lebanon and its people.”
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that more than 15 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards the Haifa Bay in the latest shelling.

Even if you live for a long time in a place where you have suffered, even when you leave the place, it is heartbreaking because it is natural to fall in love with the place.

Royals made almost £2m from sale of horses received as gifts from prominent figures
Palace insists horses given to late queen, including 34 from emir of Dubai, were ‘personal gifts’
King Charles III and his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, appear to have made almost £2m from the sale of horses that were gifts from prominent figures.
The Guardian has identified more than 40 horses that were apparently given to the queen by a Dubai sheikh, a Muslim religious leader and a Saudi royal.
Some of the horses were sold for profit by the queen, who was a passionate enthusiast for breeding and racing thoroughbreds. Others have been auctioned by the king, who in recent months has been selling some of the horses inherited from his mother, which are estimated to be worth at least £27m.
The queen’s most generous provider of racing and breeding stock by far is Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the emir of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. He appears to have been the source of at least 34 horses given to the royals.
The Aga Khan, Prince Shah Karim al-Husseini, the spiritual head of Shia Ismaili Muslims, appears to have given the royal family five horses, including Estimate, who gave the queen one of her most memorable victories on the track, in the 2013 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

The queen also received a horse from Denford Stud, which is owned by Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia, a half-brother of the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman; and another from a breeding operation owned by Qatar’s al-Thani family.
In total, 41 horses that raced in the royal colours over the last 15 years were given to Elizabeth, according to a Guardian analysis.
Of those, 29 went under the hammer at a public auction at some point over the past decade, realising a total of £1.93m.
Buckingham Palace indicated that it regards the horses given to the queen as private gifts. A spokesperson said: “Personal gifts given to Queen Elizabeth by those who knew her late majesty privately would remain private, as they would for any other individual.”
They said the monarchy’s gifts policy “makes very clear that gifts are classed as personal when they are given by people whom the member of the royal family knows privately and not during, or in connection with, an official engagement or duty.”
What are the rules on gifts for the royal family?
The policy, introduced in 1995, distinguishes between “official gifts”, which are generally those received in connection with a royal’s official role or during the course of a formal engagement, and “personal gifts”, received from people who members of the royal family know personally, which are not publicly declared.
However, the gifts of horses to the queen raise questions about whether the policy is sufficiently clear to deal with circumstances in which the relationship between the Windsors and their benefactors is more blurred.
The queen’s relationships with Sheikh Mohammed and the Aga Khan were arguably both official and personal, having been developed through formal encounters and a mutual interest in horse racing.

Sheikh Mohammed met the queen on several official occasions, according to the Court Circular, including at a reception in Buckingham Palace in November 2009, and in Abu Dhabi the following year when he hosted the queen and Prince Philip at the official launch of the design for the Zayed National Museum.
All the queen’s horses … and their £27m value to the new king
The queen and Sheikh Mohammed also attended the official signing of a “friendship treaty” at the Emirates Palace hotel in 2010. They appeared at various racing events in the UK, including at Royal Ascot in 2009 when Sheikh Mohammed joined the queen, Philip and Prince Andrew in their carriage.
Their relationship became more complicated in 2020 after Sheikh Mohammed was found by the high court to have abducted two of his own daughters and subjected his ex-wife to a campaign of intimidation. Palace officials subsequently briefed that the queen would no longer allow herself to be photographed with Sheikh Mohammed.
The court later awarded his ex-wife sole custody of their children after concluding that Sheikh Mohammed had used the military spyware Pegasus to carry out cyber-attacks on her and her lawyers, and published threatening poetry about her. A judge concluded he should have no face-to-face contact with the children, on account of his “abusive behaviour”.
Between 2013 and 2015, three horses presented to the queen by the Aga Khan, were sold for between £2,625 and £14,700.

The queen and Prince Philip hosted the Aga Khan and his family at a dinner party at Buckingham Palace in July 2008 to celebrate his golden jubilee. Ten years later, she hosted him at another dinner party, this time at Windsor Castle, for his diamond jubilee. Both were official engagements documented in the Court Circular.
The queen appears to have had a long history of accepting – and at times even demanding – horses as gifts. The Times reported two years ago that she accepted gift horses from Sheikh Mohammed even after his wife fled to London.
Last month, the German magazine Der Spiegel said it had found state papers documenting how the queen had asked for two horses as a gift while on a state visit to West Germany in 1978. The country’s president approved the gift in the interests of good relations, despite it being the most expensive gift given to a visiting head of state since the end of the second world war.
Susan Hawley, the executive director of Spotlight, a transparency campaign group, said UK ministers would generally be expected to publicly declare similar gifts and, if they wanted to keep them, reimburse the government. She said it was “not at all clear” why royals should be subject to different guidelines.
“Rules on not accepting gifts and disclosing any that are made are there for a purpose – to protect the reputation of the UK and its public institutions from accusations of being open to influence to the highest bidder,” she said.
WTF sells a gift. For profit.
Thats just rude.

I was listening to the poem “The Story of Yesterday” trying to pick out some of its interesting verses, so I stopped to look into the life of this poet. I was saddened by what I found, how much he suffered in his miserable life. His father, Sheikh Ibrahim Suleiman Azhari, used to compose poetry and ignite the enthusiasm of the masses in the 1919 revolution. Ahmed Fathi lived under his wing in Alexandria until he died, he found himself an orphan of both parents, his studies faltered because of his alcoholism, but he graduated from one of the middle industrial institutes that enabled him to work, he moved in the cities of Egypt until he lived in Luxor, so life inspired him in the Karnak poem that Abdel Wahhab sang, he moved in his work and I think from failure To failure, fate led him to work in the British Radio in London, but he failed to maintain his work there. Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal -a known poet-met him and helped him find a job in the Saudi radio station, and despite the luxury he could not follow, he returned to Egypt and died in 1960. One of his most important poems other than Karnak is the story of yesterday.

The lamp, the cups, and the memory stay up with me
And the eyes of the night hide their light in my tears
What a remembrance of you that my soul lived on delusion for years
It went out of my mind except for an echo that gets used to me from time to time
Yesterday's story, that I recall, tomorrow's dreams and beutiful wishes, danced in my temple
Wounds whose burning in my resting place and clouds of a cloudy imagination like eternity
I will not return to you, no matter how much my heart beats
You are the one who initiated boredom and antagonism and betrayed my love. So if you call today on my heart for reconciliation, no, no, it will not respond.
