The entire Florida Keys has been without water for about a day because a water main broke in Key Largo. Grocery stores have already started price gouging like the capitalist vultures they are; my dad got 2 big cases of bottled water for $50! FIFTY DOLLARS! Each bottle is 1.5 liters, 12 per case, 2 cases, that's 36 liters, a little over 9.5 gallons! $5.26 per gallon, twice as expensive as gasoline, and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. This morning, our sinks let out a steady trickle, now they're completely dried up, the thinnest whisp of air coming out of the faucet. We can't shower, we can't wash our hands, we have to manually refill the toilet tanks, it's like we got hit by an off season hurricane. The Keys are mostly full of rich retired assholes, so I'm sure they'll get the water back up and running for them soon, but this got me thinking about how there are whole cities that have to live like this for days, months, years even up on the mainland! This is hell! Rich retired assholes get priority over the working class dregs, and it makes me see red, I'm so angry. I'm gonna be fine in the long term, but one day of inconvenience has shown me how fragile the system is and how our leaders pick and choose who to help.

We wait for 8 WEEKS and they deny the claim because my partner 'didn't provide proof of his identity'. Like um. Yes, he did. He provided three different types of ID because that's what the website stipulated. He's appealing it, but ffs. We need the money bc we're so behind on our bills and that back unemployment pay would get us caught up. It's so stupid. It's gotta go before a tribunal now. WTAF. They will literally do anything including spending gobs of money to avoid giving any money to their citizens who need it. And they claim to be a Chr*stian state. FUCK THEM.

I hate this state. I wish we could move. I hate that when I buy shit, the sales tax goes to this fucking state that hates everyone who lives here. FUCK THIS STATE. I used to say I loved it, but you know what? It hasn't loved me in a long time. FUCK IT.

Because CLEARLY if we can have a convicted felon in the white house, then convicted felons everywhere should be allowed to get jobs, should be allowed to vote, etc.

1.there were trees at the beginning of the world! there were trees so long ago that they predate bacteria that causes wood to decay. when a tree fell, it would lie there in stasis and there wasn’t any way of breaking down wood xylem on a molecular level in that way.

2. it seems obvious to say, but wood eating bacteria are literally incapable of comprehending what they’re breaking down. It’s just not information conciously available to a microorganism. they don’t know what they’re deconstructing, where it came from, bacteria have no way to even fathom the existence of a tree as a concept.

3. Regardless of the facts above, the world we live in today is a world where wood inevitably decomposes

it is worth fighting the unkillable god no matter how pointless it seems. it is worth taking the risk even though youre trying to accomplish something impossible. the reality in which you live was also once reality in which trees didn’t rot. You live in a reality that allows for existence before the possibility of destruction. you live in a reality where uncomprehending microbes break down matter that is so far beyond the scope of their comprehension that it feels comical to specify something so obvious. you live in a reality that occasionally allows unshakeable physical truths to be altered with no warning.

It is worth fighting the unkillable god because trees are so old they predate the source of their destruction, and it still did not spare them. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because bacteria rots unthinkingly, because there is room in our cosmos for destruction without comprehension on the part of the destroyer. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because now and then reality retracts the promise of immortality without fanfare, and when that happens there is no mercy for the ancient. the unmaking is not softer for the desecrators ignorance. for all things, existence is endless until the exact point where it ends.

so you might as well try to kill the unkillable god. it doesn’t seem likely, but at the beginning of the world, trees didn’t rot. so you never know! you never know
