okay so i'm thinking about like. in my emmrich x rook x lucanis x spite polycule, it probably bothers emmrich (and spite) that spite cannot be heard by rook. so, he and bellara team up to use the power of ancient elven technology, some magic, and a whole lot of sleepless nights to make something for spite to speak into that allows rook to hear them. kind of like an object for him to possess, in a way? in my mind it's like an earring or ear cuff, and it's a set. lucanis, emmrich, and rook each have a piece, so no one gets left out. in my mind it works a lot like the earrings of sending from the vox machina season of critical role. they can touch the earring and send a message to a person who has an earring.

they spend a whole day just testing the limits. can spite speak to rook when they're all the way across the lighthouse? how about half-way into arlathan woods? can rook speak to them underwater (quickly abandoned for obvious reasons). spite is so so happy for rook to be able to hear him that he talks to them all the time. Lucanis finds it hard to be annoyed when Spite is so eagerly and happily saying "Hi, Rook," for the fourteenth time that day. Maybe it's because he gets to hear Rook giggle and say, "Hello, Spite," back.

spite being able to ask every question that he wants! spite who has two patient teachers (and lucanis) readily available to answer any question that he has. yeah, sometimes they're silly. but it's also so fucking charming when spite goes "do you like this?" and then seeing twelve of them in their room later. spite who can now ask for help when lucanis cannot. who isn't afraid to admit when they're struggling because what's the point? help is right there and he can reach them now!!!!

spite who is so happy because now he can flirt with rook directly! and he can flirt with emmrich and rook when they aren't in the same room!! spite who will get on the line and demand manfred updates. emmrich who finds a way to fashion it for manfred to wear so lucanis and rook get to hear manfred and spite chatting away. (it's actually very endearing. they forget that the others can hear and talk about how much they love and care about their people and they all get a little tear eyed).

i just!! i 100% think that between everyone in the veilguard they can absolutely provide spite with a vessel to communicate!

You know, I do believe there were times during the interrogation where Stephen imagined the relationship he ‘could have had’ with Thomas. Perhaps, there were even points where he “forgot” that this was an interrogation that would ultimately end in Thomas’s death, and let his mind wander to old times.

Like times when they worked with Wolsey. This is probably not the first time he’s seen Thomas hold his own in a hot seat; there had to be times when they were younger, working under Wolsey, when he sat and enjoyed seeing Thomas use his lawyer jargon, and run circles and circles around young men who think they could best him. And I mean even after Wolsey died the books, until Stephen is sent to France, they have a decent on-and-off relationship where they work together and occasionally, would spend time together.

But, I just took notice of the way he was looking at Thomas during the interrogation, the way they caught each other’s eye once or twice and held their gaze for just…a moment, as if Stephen was going to see how Thomas could wiggle his way out of this hole. He was amused because he knew Thomas more than anyone in there, longer than anyone in there. There was a time they were friends, a time where an event like this - Thomas using his wit to outsmart people - was just a common thing between them, and Stephen was impressed. But of course, when Norfolk started talking, reality came crashing down and Stephen had to accept that, this fire he enjoyed so much from Thomas, would be put out in less than what? Forty-eight hours? His friend, his enemy, the man he had hated but respected, the man he had in a way been manipulated into hating, who annoyed him so much but also brought him some forms of amusement and excitement would be dead. And he’d never see him again. Thomas was the only one imo who could both handle Stephen and bring out a more complex side of Stephen.

whenever I have a particularly bad time online with all the bullshit that gets passed around I try to remember that post that I can’t remember the exact elegant wording they used but whose point was effectively “No one who has tried to care as much as possible about every single thing wrong in the world has ever succeeded and the ones that I found have made the most difference in the world are those who picked one thing and cared really really hard about trying to fix it”. And I really try to focus on how the internet’s morals shift by popular stance and trend every 3 years and how algorithms are pushing for constant conflict and how people are falling under the controlled systematic internet narrative that the world is out to get absolutely everyone and everything and everyone other than you is evil and wrong and….and I try really hard to focus on my memories and experiences of real life. I remember the older lgbt couples shopping my store where I worked as a teen. I remember the little tween girls in religious headwear buying hair dye from my register and giggling to each other in excitement as they went home. I think about the veteran trans woman in my local scene and community whom was offered respect and validity by my peers, whom I traveled with as a kid to an event out of state. I think about the fundraisers my local scene put on for members of the community who got injured. I think of the local shops who make every effort to give back to the community and ask for nothing in return. I try to remember how much that matters, how much doing something or respecting someone you meet irl will always matter more than agreeing or disagreeing with someone over a vague concept online ever will. I don’t have any pretty words or conclusive sentiments to add to this I just wanted to push some of the stress of seeing the constant rage and conflict and bullshit on the internet off my chest and put something else into it’s place instead

Minato is I think the one you will find the hardest to pin down a personality cause not even the movies, theatre or side games can agree with a personality on him!

And it's incredibly weird when comparing to his female counterpart who is written with a more defined personality and in Q2 basically the protag of that game next to joker

some games he's just written with like little dialogue (Q2), some theatre he is incredibly moody or in the movies case written to be a complete asshole so I say Good luck!

i think we can find metaphor even in the excruciatingly literal because humans are narrative driven creatures. like as a kid i loved wolves and cats and werewolves and werecats but every single member of my family was singlemindedly devoted to giving me horse books and horse posters because I was a Girl in the South and that meant i had to be a horse girl. while i just desperately wanted to turn into a wolf and live in the woods. and that is both a thing that happened quite literally and also a metaphor for Gender
