hennessy. hennessy. hennessy i am thinking of you. i am thinking about the significance of first vs last names in trc/tdt. how the difference between when ronan says “parrish” vs when he says “adam” MATTERS. there is softness, there is feeling in both but they are so very different. and i am thinking about how hennessy only has her last name, how she gave jordan — her first dreamt copy, her first real companion as a child — her first name. hennessy has Half a name, she is half a person. and the half she chose was the last name, the name that is arguably less yours. a last name is your Family name, it is something that signifies your place in a group, but without a first name, it does not differentiate you from the group — hennessy gave up her individuality by giving up her first name to jordan, becoming less real, less her in the process. but hennessy would always choose to do this because jordan is hennessy’s other half and she views her as her better half. and so she gave jordan the first name, because to hennessy, jordan is the orginal, better, jordan hennessy.

i would like to read a romcom-esque fic where tattoo artists ronan and jordan set up each other with “the worst” people they know (aka ronan chooses his own brother declan and jordan chooses her lawyer adam) maybe to prove a point maybe to fuck with them idk but turns out they both kinda like them 👀

I miss TRC...

I just had to say it. There's no point to this other than me complaining. I know that Maggie said there won't be more books in the TRC universe, but I miss the gangsey so much you guys........ Why am I not allowed to read about the pynch wedding? I want to read from Adam's perspective about how he loves Ronan! And I want to read more about one about the few straight (passing) ships I love - bluesey. I need more! I also want Henry back (and Noah......) And then I also want the Dreamer Trilogy folks back as well - Declan and Jordan and Carmen and Hennessy........ I miss their dynamic, the strange things they say, the way they're all so cute and iconic I MISS THEM SM!!! And rereading the series isn't enough!!! I need new content!!! At least we're getting the graphic novel but honestly I bet it will only make me miss them more... Sigh. :( Can anyone relate? Let's all cry together <3

Do you think canon pynch as we left them in Greywaren would eventually adopt children? Or would the nature of their lifestyle and environment be something they wouldn’t want to subject kids to?

I feel strongly that Ronan would want kids, because he’s Catholic like that, and we theorize about Adam’s potential hang ups mostly involving his traumatic childhood and his ability to nurture against nature.

But like, their world is very dangerous and look how it affected them? Idk, thoughts?

This is honestly such a tough question! I think both of them would have their reserves about it and I can’t think of a justifiable reason that they would want to bring another life into the world by choice.

But I think I could see them adopting, perhaps an older child who needs stability and a loving home. I think Adam would be against having children at first but when they really look into it and he realises that this kid is just like him, but a version of him that got taken out of that awful situation, he would cave immediately and give that child everything he never had. He would love them so fiercely and I think Ronan would be a great dad as well. He’d be tough, like he is with Opal (also could be considered their child) but he would have endless love to give. I think in a way it would be hard for him to have a “normal” child but I think it would give him such an intense love for reality. It would ground him after finding out that he himself is preternatural and a dream thing, but I don’t think he would try and hide it or keep it a secret like his dad did. He’s tired of secrets.

Side note: Declan and Jordan definitely have children and so they have big Christmases at the Barns with cousins running around and Gansey and Hennessy have long debates over who is the best uncle/aunt…but pynch’s child absolutely idolises his uncle Declan. All is well!
