His voice draws a soft startle out of the tired Lera, her condition an everlasting sense of fatigue and perhaps even more so in the quiet moments where she is so focused on herself- her work.

Phantom letters - DPXDC PROMPT

The bats wake up one day to the internet going crazy; people around the world were getting letters from they're diseased loved ones. The reactions are mixed, from people being outraged for the "prank" to people crying in melancholy at getting closure.

All the letters have something in common: They're closed with a green sealing wax that had an stylize DP and the name Phantom beneath it. Posts about the cards were using the # Phantom Letters.

The bats are discussing the viral posts in the cave when Alfred comes holding a basket filled with letters, announcing they were left at the doors. The letters had the sealing wax that they recognize from the posts. Checking the cameras they can see how they glitch before the basket appears.

Alfred starts to distribute the letters that had only one destinatary. Letters from each Thomas and Martha to both Bruce and Alfred. Letters from each John and Mary to Dick. A letter from Catherine to Jason. A letter from the Drake's to Tim, and another one to Bruce.

Once they had calmed down enough from the shock, Alfred proceeded to read the shared recipients. From Thomas and Martha to "The grandchildren we never got to meet." From John and Mary to "the family that took our little Robin in." Letters from Catherine to "My little boys family." The letters were directed to people the deceased didn't get to meet.

As much as the mere existence of the letters tugged at their hearts, they decided to not read them until they verified that the handwriting actually belong to the ones it claimed. They checked each letter, and in the end confirmed the letters were in fact from they're lost love ones.

After much discussion, each person makes the decision to read they're own letters later in private, and they proceed to read the ones that shared recipients out loud. The letter mentioned specifics like names and events that the deceased shouldn't have been able to know, including they're vigilante abilities, which had them pause each time to panic a bit. But what was more interested were certain pieces of the letters that mentioned a Prince Phantom.

"Prince Phantom said to don't mention things past our death, but it wasn't a command, so we're hoping this won't be much of a problem." - John and Mary

"I still can't believe Prince Phantom is letting us do this, but I'm so glad." - Catherine

It finally paints the mystery in a more concerning light when at the end of Thomas and Martha's letter there is a call for help.

"We're sorry for ending the letter on a serious tone, but seeing the kind of job you all get involved in, we wanted to ask: Could you please help Prince Phantom? Phantom had asked us to not give information about this, but he's so young, and has already been hurt so much. Please, check on Amity Park, Illinois."

Meanwhile, team Phantom has decided that they needed to get the news about the GIW out of Amity and ask for help. Two problems:

the GIW blocks any technological attempt made.

People might be afraid to learn that ghosts exist and side with the GIW.

As a way to deal with the public image, Phantom opens a possibility that the death have never had:

"All afterlives are open to write letters to their love ones that are still alive today. Nothing that includes threats, and don't go talking about the anti-ecto acts or Amity Park yet, we're trying to ease people into our existence first. Also, I know you all check on your love ones when the veil is thin, but please keep the things you shouldn't know out of the letters if possible. If you want your letter to be sent in the first batch, make sure to deliver your letter before the week ends."

Letters are a good way to reconnect people with the death, they aren't digital, and the GIW won't be able to intercept letters if they're send through inter-dimensional portals. Two birds in one shot.

Hear me out! Danny finds his human form slowly getting more eldrich as he gets older (and more powerful) and ends up going to Gotham where people are way less likely to ask questions!

Sadly when the people of Gotham see Danny, oops my shadow has eyes now, Fenton they just assume he's gonna be a new Rouge!

Que the bat fam watching Danny waiting for him to make his move, over-analyzing everything he does. Mans can't even buy a new laptop without Bruce breathing down his neck about it

This would be an issue if Danny wasn't such a little troll, and he starts buying more obviously ominous things only to openly use them in improperly boring and normal ways. Like buys a death lazer and can be seen using it to make toast, buys a cursed box full of death themed artifacts and uses it as a coffee table, that kinda stuff.

Every time the bat's assume 'this is it!' And gets ready to take him down, only to see Danny setting up a new 'coat rack' made of kriptonite

Even better when they see him tinkering on some kind of doomsday device, the kind that looks super evil and dangerous and even has a red count down timer on the front and- it's a fucking air frier again! He already has three! Why does he keep making air friers?! Obviously this must be some kind of scheme

I raise you: Danny starts selling his things out to random citizens (they've all been intensely screened). The bats panic thinking this is an attempt to cripple Gotham in one fell swoop. Nope. Ms. Randall just really needed a new air purifier and Danny had a toxin dispenser that was just collecting dust.

I imagine though that he might start to notice that the bats are focusing on him a little too much which is a problem considering there are things going down in Gotham that actually need their attention. But at the same time, our resident ghost boy isn't ready to stop being a menace just yet. So what does he do? Kill too birds with one stone.

Whenever Danny catches wind of a new plot going down, he does something to draw the bats's attention to it. Two Face planning a robbery? Suddenly Danny is showing up to the bank everyday to work on the vault (he offered to reinforce it for free). The bats get so suspicious they focus hard on the bank and discover Two Face's plot before he can do anything.

The bats pat themselves on the back while Danny giggles in the background. Wonder how long it will take for them to figure out what's going on.

At the sounds and movement coming from the cell, Nefarious looked up and grinned.

Oh. Awake at last...

His grin became a chuckle, bringing his metallic hands together as he watched the confusion flash through Beast Boy's eyes. Seeing how defiant the little runt had been before, the villain now took great pleasure witnessing the hero slowly grasp his predicament. And he was still stupid enough to run his mouth! Typical. But unlike before, he now took amusement in Beast Boy's anger and defiance.

"Ohh, a 'superhero,' are you??"

"Could have fooled me!! I've had pets put up more of a fight! Not that they were mine, or anything!~" He taunted with a sharp laugh, savoring every bit of defiance on Beast Boy’s face, before directing his attention back to the monitor nearby. He began to type quickly. "Your genetics, however..." He began with excitement, "—are actually impressive!!" The robot's eyes scanned the data scrolling across the monitor, apparently very pleased by what he saw. "The key to ELIMINATING ALL ORGANIC LIFE IN THS GALAXY!!!!!… for a start, at least!"

A huge inhale. Beast Boy woke up, bright foreign lights crackling around him. Oh. Holy. Cow. Not again! This was the second time he'd been the victim of alien abduction! UGH. Memories coursed through him as he pictured that awful brute who forced him to change shapes, just for his entertainment!

Was this any different? Better, or worse? Okay, okay...first, he had to calm down, or...at least try. And assess the situation.

He was in a containment cell of some sort. Blocked off, but he could move freely. Er, as freely as possible in the small space. And what was that on his neck? Beast Boy ripped off three rubber suction thingies, which he guessed measured vitals.

Hot air puffed out through BB's nose like an angry bull. "You messed up BIG TIME by abducting me, robot-guy. Didn't end well for the LAST dude who tried this out. You think I'm a superhero for nothing? You think I'm just another woodland mammal? Man, there really IS no intelligent life out there." Well, besides Starfire's planet, of course.

That green glare was sharp as it bore into the lights that served as his captor's eyes. Then, Beast Boy's gaze drifted slightly. A raccoon across from him, pacing madly in its own pod thingy, was puffed up to twice its size, clearly terrified. "For every animal you've CAPTURED, you're gonna get a blow to that stupid dome-skull of yours," Beast Boy threatened, his voice far more menacing than his typical character.

10. [thigh touch] - Your muse slides their hand slowly up my muse’s thigh, gazing at them the entire time to gauge their response. (for Slade, jumping a million events over, idek - you nailed her taste now you must suffer her gremlin ass)

Ever since the Mirakuru, Slade had done well enough to stay away from anyone of whom he may form an attachment to, friendly or otherwise. He had no desires, no longing. Somewhere out there his wife had almost certainly moved on from their relationship. Hell, he would be surprised if she hadn't. Perhaps that is what had made Shado so much harder to lose, when his mind was not his own. Somewhere below the guilt he had formed a bond with another woman, outside their innate want to survive that horrible island.

After her, he said never again.

Another broken promise to himself.

Slade was only ever human after all, and that innate craving for someone to endure the horrors of living was not a force he could contend with- not forever. It does not help that Melissa had been insistent. Though burned in most if not all of his former connections he still had a few friends, if friend was even the right word. His paranoia had begged for information about this beautiful woman who had seemingly, randomly, taken an interest in him. Too good to be true. Some digging around later proved that she had, at least to the best of their abilities to search, not been involved in anything that might prove detrimental to him.

Not that it made a whole lot of difference. In their day and age, anyone could be anyone.

Still, there they stand, holed up in his lavish apartment within the city. ARGUS had tried to take his finances when they locked him away, but he was far more crafty than they had ever given him credit for. His cooperation was certainly the only reason they had stopped digging and didn't do much more than observe him, now.

Slade allows for a grin to pull at the corner of his mouth, eyes meeting her own. His hands are planted on either side of Melissa and onto the countertop, effectively trapping her between himself and that solid surface without actually touching her. She seems to take offense to such a thing and aims to rectify it. A hand trails along the outside of his thigh and a soft chuckle eases itself from the back of his throat.

This was not the first time that he had invited her to his abode, nor did he assume it would be the last. Her persistence to be around him was as perplexing as it was a grand relief.

"Seems you have decided how our night will turn out," he starts while dipping his head inwards to mumble against Melissa's ear. "But you may need to convince me further to go along with this plan of yours."

"Gojo should've gotten to live as a person-" THAT’S THE POINT. That is the ENTIRE point of JJK. Every single character who died was someone who "should've gotten to" do a lot of things. Riko should've gotten to live for herself, Geto should've had the chance to be a teenage boy given support and safety, Junpei should've gotten to live without fear, Nobara should've had the chance to let people in without fear, Nanami, Yuki, Mai, Higurama, EVERYONE.

Here's the thing, Gojo is on this list. Gojo isn't the exception because JJK at its core is a story about how overarching systems destroy people; bullying, capitalism, sexism, etc. And this system does not need people to run it. Which is why killing Kenjaku didn't stop shit because yeah he started this mess but its grown beyond him. Fuck, it was there before him.

This is also why despite Sukuna & Uraume being the only ones who are actual threats, nothing is better. The cast got rid of the higher-ups, jujutsu tech as it is, is no more. The major families are dismantled. This should be a victory. This is what the Sashisu gen pointed out as the problem but things have never looked more bleak.

Why? Because the problem isn't Kenjaku, Sukuna, curses, sorcerers or curse users. It's the existence of Cursed Energy itself. This has been pointed out multiple times by Yuki. Its the system and Gojo has been complicit to the system for a long, long time. He's also it's victim. Gojo says he's the exception a lot, but as everyone has rightfully pointed out, he was nothing more than a weapon to jujutsu society.

JJK has followed a very clear pattern to every character right from Geto to Junpei to Riko; characters are representatives of systems of suppression, and they will not escape it. I can't recall a single character that's escaped unscathed, much less alive.

Is it disrespectful? Yes. Is it demeaning? YES. There has not been a single character death that's been dignified in JJK. It's all on a scale of bearable to absolutely horrifying. It is genuinely wild seeing people resort to threatening the author AGAIN. Calm the fuck down. You are entitled to feeling upset about how Gojo has been treated but Yuta stans are being calm despite Yuta arguably suffering the "he is a weapon" thing WORSE. It's still a fictional character and JJK's narratives never treated Gojo with any exceptions despite the character saying otherwise.
