What is Spiritual Warfare and how to overcome it with the help of God?

• Spiritual warfare is the idea that there's a battle going on between good and evil forces. In Christianity, this means a fight between God and His angels against the devil and his demons. It mainly happens in our minds, hearts, and spirits. It’s about resisting bad thoughts, temptations, and influences that go against what God wants for us. Though we believe that Jesus has indeed already defeated Satan by dying on the cross and coming back to life, the enemy still tries to lead us to sin in order to push us away from God, thus spiritual warfare.

• “Symptoms” vary since the devil attacks you where it hurts the most, to make you as vulnerable as possible; but here are some of the most common ones:

- believing that your not worthy of having a relationship with God or talking to God therefore feeling the need to distance yourself from him

-self destructive / sabotage / harm temptations

-paranoia / overthinking

-strong headaches / body aches

-temptations towards sin such as lust, gluttony, laziness, anger.. etc, depends on your weaknesses

-self hatred & self doubt / doubt in faithfulness

-hopelessness, fear, anxiety

-random depressive moods & replaying bad memories … the list goes on!

• Living a life more aligned with God’s will is seen as a threat to Satan and his purposes, leading to increased attempts to discourage or derail one’s faith journey. With a deeper relationship with God often comes a greater sense of purpose and mission, attracting more challenges and obstacles from evil forces trying to prevent one from fulfilling God’s plans. Our Father allows these intensified battles to refine and strengthen our faith, helping us rely more on Him and grow spiritually.

Gossip

Way too often I catch myself Gossiping or talking bad about people behind their backs. I don’t know why I do it, and every time I do, I regret it. But I can’t seem to permanently stop. Sometimes, if I notice what I‘m doing wrong right now, I‘ll stop, but I gotta admit for me not talking about people behind their backs can be hard for me sometimes.

What does the Bible say about Gossip?

• The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body. - Proverbs 26:22

• Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. - Psalm 34:13

• Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool. - Proverbs 10:18

• Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. - James 4:11

• Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. - Ephesians 4:29

• Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless - James 1:26

I researched a bit and found out that some of the reasons that people may gossip are to bond, they fear being vulnerable, to feel superior or it is learned behavior.

How to stop gossiping

1. Recognize the harm of gossip

2. Pray about it

3. Reflect before speaking

4. Avoid negative influences

5. Forgive and let go

6. Find healthy outlets

7. Practice Gratitude

New Creation (Reconcile with God)

2nd Corinthians 5:17-20

2nd Corinthians 5:17: This means if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, The old order has passed away; now ALL is new.

Romans 6:13: Do not present your members to sin as instruments for righteousness but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.

John 1:13: Who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Romans 6:4: We were buried therefor with him by baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Galatians 6:15: For neither circumcision counts for anything for uncircumcision but a new creation.

Isaiah 65:17: For behold I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.

2nd Corinthians 5:18: All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Romans 11:36: For FROM him and THROUGH him and TO him are all things. To him be the glory forever. AMEN.

Romans 5:10: For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by death of his son much more now that we are reconcile shall we be saved by his life.

2nd Corinthians 5:19: I mean that God Christ was reconciling the world to himself not counting men's transgressions against them and that he has entrusted us with the message of reconciliation.

Romans 4:8: Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.

2nd Corinthians 5:20: This makes us ambassadors for Christ, God as it were appealing through us, we implore you in Christ name, be reconciled to God.

2nd Corinthians 6:1: As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

Ephesians 6:20: For which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
