What is the Pearl of Great Price?
The Pearl of Great Price, is a parable Jesus told about the Kingdom of Heaven. There is much discussion about what that pearl represents. Does it represent the kingdom of heaven which Christians seek for, or is it the Church, the Bride of Christ? Who then is the merchantman?

You are the treasure in the field
Matthew 13:44-46 NLT [44] “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. [45] “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. [46] When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!

Revelation 21: How Firm a Foundation
There are several clues in John’s vision of a voluminous golden city descending through the sky that lead the reader to believe it symbolizes spiritual truths. #Revelation21 #NewJerusalem #TwelveFoundations #PearlyGates
There are several clues in John’s vision of a voluminous golden city descending through the sky that lead the reader to believe it symbolizes spiritual truths. In comparison to Babylon—portrayed as a woman of excesses—the bride motif of new Jerusalem symbolizes the far superior role as Christ’s beloved, than as the world’s. The purity and luminosity of the precious materials in the city’s…

In Excess is brought bitterness.
Lust, Greed, Desire, Devouring,
Chasing some Love,
A privilege,
Not a right.
Joy, togetherness, not to be in those
Without restraint
In desire of self
-Humility
It's wise to Wait
For desires of Above.
Lust for Kingdom
Is heart against God -
You want it for you,
Not to be led by Chosen Authority,
Because you love your sins
More than your Heart,
And more than Love.
Golden, Golden,
Rule, Rule,
Blah, blah.
Each time you're nice,
You forget yourself,
And retreat unto vanity,
And ecstasy,
Missing the point,
Of Caring;
Not control, but for the Whole.
In stead of succeeding in your studies of the way, you take from others, to pursue your false contribution to humanity, that you might chase more of your perversions, perverting the freedom of others.
You call this 'freedom' and 'independence'.
But you have no restraint,
Because you always wanted more, more, more,
Without bound.
Where is the balance and fairness?
Are These not Kingdom?
Silence?
The usual.
Who here is Satisfied?
The suffering?
The poor?
You?
ADDRESSED TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
You don't eat in order to serve, you consume to serve pleasure against justice, in mild-mannered nonchalance,
Against heaven.
[Against Love,
Your Judgements. Your Demands.]
This causes chaos in my realm.
No more.
Order.
I am not the slave of you,
World dogs.
Grow Up.
You are not my lord.
Repent, ignobles maleficent.
Be no more a stain of blood.

A Pearl of Great Price
This coming Sunday is the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Pearls were as highly valued in the ancient world as they are today, and were a conspicuous way of displaying wealth (1 Tim 2:9; Rev 17:4; 18:12, 16). Huge pearls are the gates in the symbolic new Jerusalem (Rev 21:21). But there is a subtle difference between this and the preceding parable. Continue reading Untitled

Dear Caroline:
This and other references in the Fortune article seem to point towards a minimalistic and Spartan ethos within you that I cannot help but find pleasing, as it is part of my personal tastes. The picture of a Caroline that is rather indifferent to wealth and material symbols of status, that values money as an instrumental means for making the world a better place and for showing her genius and ability in achieving what others care so much for, is that of an authentic aristocrat of the soul, in line with the original etymology of the word. I can see how the persona of primly Hermione, both Rowling's and Yudkowski's, would both appeal to and fit you.
Such is your level of adorableness I find it really hard to believe that the a high percentage of the smart men you've interacted with have not fallen hopelessly in love with you, and yet it seems that matters of the heart, as opposed to those of wisdom and skill, haven't been your strongest playing field. A few lines further into the article we can read that when you were about to join Alameda "The job offer sparked a painful breakup with her then boyfriend, who, according to a friend, told her he didn’t love her; that she shouldn’t stay in New York for him". The fact that a person blessed with your affection would throw it away so carelessly and callously immediately brings to mind a Chinese legend about the Heshibi (和氏璧), a beautiful piece of jade whose beauty was unrecognized until it was cut and polished, becoming afterwards a prized heirloom and object of contention during the Warring States era, and was later carved into the Heirloom Seal of the Realm, symbol of the Mandate of Heaven, and subsequently transferred through successive Chinese dynasties until it was lost during the 10th century.
Let fools be lured away by superficial patinas of gold and beauty. The true light shines within and through the modest, the shy and the fragile, through paper lights from the Noguchi museum. And it brightens the view and warms the heart of those lucky enough to see and appreciate it.
Quote:
Unable to bear the weight of his worries any longer, the man decided to throw the pearl into the river, believing that by doing so, he would rid himself of the anxiety it had caused him.
Regretting his decision soon after, the man rushed into the river, desperately attempting to retrieve the pearl. However, despite his best efforts, the river had already carried the precious gem away, forever lost

one day I will bind the Silt Verses transcripts into my own personal bible that I will then spend my years annotating and marking important passages and the pages will be well worn and the leather will grow soft with age and it will be passed down as a family heirloom or buried with me akin to my grandpa’s coveted scripture set that my uncles and aunts all fought over so fervently when he passed to the point that my grandma ended up sneaking the damned book into his coffin right before it was sealed to prevent a family war
#thinking about him a lot today#the scripture set in question was a bible/book of mormon/pearl of great price triple bound set that he’d spent literally his entire life#studying and annotating#every time we visited him he’d have it out and open on the side table by his armchair with his pen and journal ready#love that man and his steadfast devotion#even if i believe that religion to be a cult and have so much trauma associated with it#he somehow found solace and peace where i drowned and clawed to escape#anywayz#i’ve already started formatting i just need to finish and get a printer and supplies lmao#vee's soapbox#vee’s void#tsv#the silt verses

What is the Merchantman's Identity?
What is the identity of the merchantman? Many get this totally confused, yet the answer is so simple. The Pearl of Great Price parable reveals the immense value of the Bride of Christ, Matthew 13:45,46.

another fancy lil quarto for binderary! gotta say, i am kind of falling in love with letter quartos. they are the perfect book size to me :3
anyway! this is "a pearl of great price" by eyegnats, aka the best magical girl au ever written. (basically all of gnats's fire emblem three houses fic goes hard as hell, but this one is up there as one of my Big Faves, haha.)
the bonus copy is for gnats, obviously XP i did the endbands slightly different on the author copy (tried mixing strands of multiple metallic threads to get a pearlescent look; not sure if it succeeded but it looks cool regardless) vs on my copy (kept the endbands plain silver cuz i didnt want to put in the extra effort for my personal copy, lmao). you can see the difference in the second and fourth pics.
re: design choices, i wanted the exterior to be all pearly and shiny, and the interior to be more colorful. hence the teal endpages (ingrid color) and the light peachy colored pages (annette color) :3c
also, heres a video showing off how shiny it is!
