APOLOGIES, CONFESSIONS AND NEW LIFE
Ever hear of The Apology Line, a fascinating social experiment from the 1980s? Created by American conceptual artist Allan Bridge (1945-95), The Apology Line was a confessional phone system which used new technology of the time, an answering machine, to record confessions from anonymous callers. The concept was a stunning success. Over the 15 years the line was in operation, Wikipedia says more…

Bold and Brave Believers
They are those who have the kind of faith that steps out in courage, taking bold moves and fearless risks as they believe and pray for others and themselves. We have an incredible “Lamplighters” (aka fellowship group) at our church that we joyfully attend after Sunday morning worship. Unlike our teenage years when Sunday School might have seemed slow and somewhat boring, we are a group of…

National Prayer
Humbling Ourselves In Prayer For our Nations, Bowing Before God, Confessing Our Sin And Praying For His Mercy.
Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. James 5:16 🙏 We drifted away from you, our nation and every…

Books of 2024: Cincy Bookstore Crawl Haul!
I have spent the past thirty (30) hours whirlwinding through ten (10!!!) indie bookstores in the Greater Cincinnati Area, and I had such a great time!! I told myself I was allowed to purchase Up To One (1) book at every store, which I actually mostly stuck to--I did get two used books at the Friends of the Public Library (INVISIBLE MAN and BLACK LEOPARD, RED WOLF), because those were each $3 (so I figured it hardly counted), and two at Downbound (beloved), but one is a gift so it also doesn't really count thanks :)
Please witness: The Haul, plus bookmarks from every store (except the Friends of the Public Library and iNK).

Let’s try to find Jim Kirk’s MBTI personality (note that MBTIs have no scientific basis, but it’s just for fun!) Scroll past the poll for a detailed description of the traits in contention!
Unlike Spock, who is very clearly a thinker and an introvert, narrowing down the 16 personalities for Jim was much harder. I chose 5 that I feel describe him the best. To me, Jim is definitely more extroverted, but his other traits are fairly balanced.
Here’s a description of the traits:
Intuitive (N) personality types rely on imagining the past and future potential of what they see. They prefer to exercise their imaginations as they seek new ideas and possibilities.
Those with the Observant (S) style are more interested in observable facts and more straightforward outcomes. They mostly root their thinking in the actionable, tangible, and useful.
People with the Judging (J) personality trait feel most comfortable when the course ahead is well-marked. They would rather come up with five backup plans than deal with events as they come. Preferring to consider their options ahead of time, personality types with this trait prefer clarity and closure, sticking with the plan rather than going with the flow.
Prospecting (P) individuals are much more flexible when it comes to dealing with unexpected challenges. This flexibility helps them seize unexpected opportunities as well. These personality types tend to react to their environments rather than try to control them, helping them to make their own luck in whatever the world delivers. People with this trait hold that life is full of possibilities.

Mark 6:45-46 (TPT). “After everyone had their meal, Jesus instructed his disciples to get back into the boat and go on ahead of him and sail to the other side to Bethsaida. So he dispersed the crowd, said good-bye to his disciples, then slipped away to pray on the mountain.”
Luke 5:16 (CEV). “But Jesus would often go to some place where he could be alone and pray.”
Matthew 6:6 (NIV). “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV). “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
James 5:13-16 (ESV). “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
