hirano typology analysis <3
okay, everyone! let's start off from this page first thing first.
as you can see he's typed estj 1w2 but let's go further in this:
estjs are te-fi si-ne axis based which means his te and his si need fi and ne to function (this axis is applied for ti-fe se-ni as well and goes both ways).
(for anyone who doesn't know how this works: cognitive function in a stack of 8 make a type AND it's shadow type (your "opposite" type) as you can see in the screenshot up there functions are set this way: introvert > extr. > intr > extr. OR extr. > intr. > extr. > intr.)
let's start with his dom-aux stack
honestly, i believe he's an estj as well so im going to stick with this typing.
his dominant function is Te, i think this guy has an unbearable amount of Te here 😭
up to now I've noticed he is:
- rational
- more in his head than his heart
- pragmatic
- focused on efficiency
- very responsible
- direct (says what he thinks in your face even if it might hurt you (for ex. like when he rejected kagi for the first time)
as for his Si, which is high as well, this is what I've noticed:
- respects traditions (doesn't mean he supports them but he has nothing against them)
- sense of duty and responsibility
- he needs structure and order
- he's loyal
- resistant to major changes
- stubborn
- tidy
actually about his dominant function (between Te and Si) i have something to say about his Fi in the tert-inf stack. i think he uses much more Fi than Ne so I'd move it to tert. position and put Ne in inf. that'd make him an istj tho. in the latest chapter we can see how he thinks it's "right" not to stop Kagi from moving on but it's not an action of pure morality since sensei's shown us his whole reasonment. we can see that it's more of a "rational morality" which in a in a typology aspect is clearly Te and Fi working together. Still, i think both an istj and estj typing are correct since there's only a difference in the functions positions (estj: Te-Si-Ne-Fi istj: Si-Te-Fi-Ne).
okay now comes my fav part of typology!
enneagram, tritype and instinctual variants!
im gonna note them here so I don't have to scroll up over and over again.
enneagram: 1w2
tritype: 152
instinctual variants: so/sp
alright, so. I'd make some changes here.
first thing, his enneagram. i think e1 is correct for him since e1 is a perfectionist who thinks they have some kind of mission, they're usually systematic and responsible (in his case his self-given mission could be helping kagi with his studies for ex.) while for his w2, i honestly don't know because e2s help others out of a personal gain (to feel better about themselves) which I don't think is hirano's case because he genuinely helps others even if he doesn't get anything in return. he could be a 1w9 in my opinion. type 9s look for harmony and peace and fear having their harmony shaken/broken which could be related to his change avoidance? i think it's surely better than 1w2 (since type 2s are subconsciously selfish and he isn't selfish at all).
tritype: i think it's correct, although I wouldn't type him an e5 since he's not shown us he likes to collect knowledge "just because"
instinctual variants: I don't think so/sp is accurate, he's probably an sx/so. from my point of view it's like he values his close relationships more, by this i mean it's like he's completely comfortable with only one person (which is kagi) and I wouldn't change the social typing
we reached the end of my analysis!
it's probably confusing since my thought process is very messy to begin with, I'm sorry if it seems like that 😭

🌷👹Alex = ENTJ📈🏆
Btw these headcanons are heavily inspired plus agreeable to @/cornedbread’s headcanons to Alex
- Alex is possibly a Deep thinker, sometimes dissociating a bit or would stare blankly. [*N**/Intuition]
- He’s possibly an abstracted and drastic creature to create something so ridiculous, intriguing and as well as… Life threatening. [Intuition]
- Strategic and unpredictable, like how in his true form he waits for the perfect moment to pounce. [Dom Te -> Aux Ni -> Ter Se]
- He has NO EMPATHY to others at all and lacks personal concerns, but interestingly he has an “intimate friendship” with Dolly. Since Real Alex known her and so is she. [Inf Fi + SO/SX + Choleric]
- Power hungry and authoritarian in secret. There’s a hidden thirst for order and the strong ambition of achievement (A goal we possibly have not known about yet). As said or mentioned by Scrina. [ Enneagram 3 + SX8 ]
- Likewise, they’re fascinated by the wonders of biology and zoology. It’s either something sinister or “lighthearted” if he would look at some organism. Just curiously keeping an eye… Even aware of its actions. [ Enneagram 5 + Ni-Se ]
- Although mostly aggressive, he finds joy in things like biology/zoology, nature, aloe vera, and right awnsers. It’s not just that though. [ Secondary Sanguine ]
Conclusion:
ENTJ (The Commander)|| 3w4 - SO/SX - 385 || Choleric-Sanguine || SLOEI
Alex is an ENTJ, The Commander type.
ENTJ’s are highly strategic, intelligent and influential people able to create, plan and lead. ENTJ’s by strength can be very caring and supportive of ideas, but as for an Unhealthy version can be aggressive and controlling.
(Abbreviation; Extroverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging.)
Along with 3w4 “The Proffesional”, SO-SX, 385 “The Solution Maker” as his enneagram, instinct and tritype;
Social 3’s appear to try and take a liking from others by first glance, and it appears to be a manipulative approach later on(*Unhealthy 3), they gain admiration and recognition for either achievements, charm or so on.
Then here, Sexual 8 craves possession, power and control, which could mean both head(3) and heart(8) are unpredictably cunning, and it’s dangerously lurking inside of him ambiguously.
By gut, 5/Five’s are curious, private and intelligent individuals, so by action Alex decides to let Olivia explore as she walks, almost unheard, for a chance to either catch her or trap her in his realm. It’s also his sense of hiding his physically true form, securing that reality from within.
His temperament is just pure wrath and sadistic joy, he takes pleasure from beating up Scrina to make her do as he says, successfully taking control of a whole entire school. And, Olivia getting an awnser wrong is intended for him to devour her whole. Though “lighthearted” joy is usually established from aloe vera(?), biology/zoology and possibly Dolly.
Besides his other traits; Social, Limbic, and Organized, He possibly possesses an Ego, not pun intended, but he really does set himself high in a low profile as a Teacher. And other hand possibly inquisitive, as he’d borrow an idea to create effective motives on going. But I also like to think that he got heavily inspired by two teachers, since they’re somewhat in the same universe.
That is to make inquisitive in SLOE-“I” a strong proof.
Other notes/Trivia:
- Alex is easily mistaken for an ENTP “The Debater” type for Fandom Portrayal, and ISFP “The Adventurer” type or INFJ “The Advocate” for his fascination for Biology and Zoology.
- It’s likely Real Alex is an ISFP/INFJ. Given by links and such.
- Although 3w4 is now a confirmed type, there are times where Alex seemed SX1 (The Reformer/The Zealous) for the fact he, like Baldi would teach the player solo, and it’s possibly preferable to him.
- Another reason for Alex to be mistaken for an ENTP is his Temperament, Instinct, and possibly his attitude. (*Which I’m yet to study and learn of)
- Overall, Alex likely has an Unhealthy/Immature Personality. Possibly because of his Morality (True Evil).
Fix:
Limbic = SLOEI - Upon reading the wikipedia more, it’s determined that he’s more of a Limbic rather than Calm. As Alex appears to be aggressive and as well assertive, than his stoic demeanor which is a façade.
Refrences:

sp/sx is the glorified type 8 of dumbogram. What I mean by this is that enneagram cult leaders see this stacking as The Cool Stacking For Edgelords and they gatekeep it like hell. In reality no actual sp/sx would gatekeep sp/sx because the nature of this type is that we do not care what you identify as, we are too self absorbed.
Once again I stress that if you are concerned with your social image of being an Edgelord, like if it's so important to you that you type yourself and others based on it then you probably aren't soc-blind. The exception here is soc-blind 4s and 4-fixes, since 4s are an image type invested in their image of being an edgy outcast no matter what their stacking is. If you aren't a 4 or a 4 fix and you care about your image of edginess, that is soc.
I only gatekeep sp/sx from idiots who preach that being sp/sx means being edgy and being a busybody who tells other people their unwanted opinions about how they're supposedly mistyped. This is literally the opposite of what an sp/sx does or cares about doing. The whole art of going around saying this and that person is mistyped, and dishing out battletypings, is a social power game. Soc-blinds might briefly engage in that stuff then drop out of it and avoid it, because social power games are exhausting and confusing to us. Nobody who does this shit chronically or regularly is a soc-blind.
Regarding being edgy, soc-blinds are often provocateurs but we end up being so unintentionally. Soc-blinds often express our opinions which are detached from the social consensus and get backlash. This is different to being an intentional provocateur... The kind of person who knows they are going to get backlash and speaks anyway because they enjoy the conflict and the arguing. The intentional provocateur stacking is sp-blind.
No sp-dom enjoys conflict unless it has a direct money or resource prize on it.
#sp/sx#enneagram#soc-blind#Instinctual variants#IV#enneagram 4#Soc blindness in general gets glorified and gatekept#Mischaracterized as an intentionally edgy provocateur#sx/so#so/sx#I saw Camille Paglia typed as sp/sx by some people#I want to facepalm into the abyss#She calls herself a provocateur and did it intentionally for a living#No sp haver ever#Also 5 always looks soc blind if you have a shallow understanding of what soc is#Many sp blind 5s / 5 fixes in this world who everyone thinks are sp havers

Types not behaving as expected and why
Is MBTI or Enneagram type more influential on a person's mind and behavior? For a while now I've been noticing inconsistencies when it comes to characters and the traits associated withe their axis. Ariel and Serena Van Der Woodsen are both ESFPs, so they should be realistic and down to earth due to dom Se, yet it seems being 7s made them quite the over optimistic dreamers who can really slip into denial of reality.
Ariel is an ENFP 7w6. She doesn't care about experiences in a tangible sense -- it's not about exploring the shipwreck in a Se way, but about exploring it to collect old junk (Si) from which she can theorize and dream about other places (Ne). But I do understand your point. 7s can be unrealistic dreamers who don't want to face the cold hard truths of the world and avoid them through fantasy/pleasure.
Scarlett O'Hara is an ESTP, yet even with auxiliary Ti is very emotional, acting on sentiment and being irrational a lot of the time, I assume due to being sx first and perhaps her 4 wing.
ETPs can be quite emotionally immature, because they have just enough Fe to be aware of their own and other people's feelings, but rarely have the depth they need at a young age to truly RESPECT those emotions or know what to do with them. But yes, being sx and 4 winged has a lot to do with it. All the melodrama/hysterics!
I've also seen this happen with type 8 characters, who regardless of being Te/Ti dominants can act very dumbly due to anger, and ExFJs 3 being actually cold and detached. It seems Enneagram type and instinct can override functions, that's the only explanation I can think of since I don't think any of these characters are mistyped. That or the notion we have of what being a thinker, a feeler or an Se dom etc. might be faulty. We expect thinking types to be rational and logical at all times, feelers to be concerned with humanistic issues and Se doms to be brutal realists, but if they are, why all the exceptions?
I think our expectations are wrong. Like Jung said, none of us are "all" one function. Thinkers have feelings, and feelers have logic. It's best not to assume otherwise or you will mistype people. What you have to do is look at whether one overrides the other -- and if so, how often and what about? A thinker can be super rational about a lot of things, and super emotional about their love life. A feeler can be easily emotional about a lot of things, but detached about their career. And so on.
But yes, the Enneagram has a huge amount of influence. MBTI is the computer you are, and Enneagram is the software -- it makes the types "run" differently because they want different things than another person of their same type who has a different Enneagram type. A 6 ENFP is different from an 8 ENFP who is different from a 3 ENFP who is different from a 9 ENFP, but they still process information in the same order -- through their insights, then their subjective feelings, then the facts, then past recall.
I don't think Serena is necessarily NOT a realist so much as she's just so entirely given to living in the moment according to her feelings (SeFi) that she fails to think about the consequences (inferior Ni) and when they do arise, she runs away from them (7). The same goes for Scarlett to some extent -- she's incredibly opportunistic and lives for the opportunities of moment (SeTi) without thinking of the long-term consequences (inferior Ni), and when those problems crop up, she dismisses them out of an arrogant supposition that she did nothing wrong and can fix it later (3). Her 4 wing is never happy with what she has in favor of what she wants (the one man who won't wreck his marriage to be with her), so she fixates on Ashley -- until she can have him once his wife dies, and realizes she no longer wants him and that he's pathetic (that 4ish eternal "longing" and rejection of what she has and then disgust and lack of interest).

Dani’s Messy Typology
Intro
So Daenerys Targaryen’Typology has always been a mess to me tbh. Ive seen arguments that are either incredibly well written and thought out or just outright weird and misguided.
while in my INFJ post I had Dani Typed as an INFJ 1w2 I don't know how to feel about that typing anymore. Im still leaning towards INFJ 1w2 however as for her new enneagram type I've seen people throw soc 2 out there and im sort of interested in exploring this a bit. I can see how you got soc 2 with Danny eventually disetgrating towards 8. However i think her being an sx 1 could also be possible. Idk you guys let me know about your thoughts on this. However I still stand that ENFJ Danny is odd...very very odd. Like ofc Dani’s most notable function is her Fe however noticeable=/=dominant For example Light Yagami’s most notable functions are his Ni-Fi However he still an ENTJ who uses Te-Se in allot of his scheming and mental processes. I think Danni fits more with her being an Ni dom. As of currently my typing for Daernerys Targaryen is INFJ 1w2 sx/so126. But I have been giving a bit of thought to INFJ 2w1 so/sp too. But im open to arguments rn.

Hey, I’ve seen your posts on insta and you’re a great content creator! I was wondering if you could help me identify my MBTI and my enneagram. I was pretty confident about my type but I wanted to get out of the “rabbit hole” of MBTI and gather some external consensus (from my loved ones and my own non-biased experiences) to objectively track down my behaviors rather than relying on self-typing.
ENTJ 8w9 sp/sx 836 [I believe this is my type. Not sure.] I’m deciding between= ENTJ or Se dom and Ti-Fe or Te-Fi. E8 or E6 subtypes 8 sp or sx. 6sx
(A lot of detail to ensure you have enough information to work with [if you want ofc])
Experiences and behaviors (useful for enneagram)
I was a natural born leader, but a very insensitive one. I would gather everyone every school recess and tell them exactly what we were going to play and everything had to go my way. Nobody could tell otherwise.
Until one day a friend started to refuse to go under my dictatorship. That one friend was kind to everyone unlike me, so the kids obviously began to follow her instead. I did not approach the kids or call them back to join me; instead, I isolated myself and became a loner. It’s all or nothing. I started to become selective: If I can’t dominate them and they won’t obey me, their friendship is not worth keeping (very immature, I regret it). I would start to approach the kids that had stuff in common with me and that would not try to control or question me and simply follow my lead. It was useless to have the other kids or try to control them when I could have my real “sidekicks” genuinely supporting me instead.
I’ve learned to be much more intelligent/wise with my actions (This is where I start to doubt if E8 or 6.) My parents said when my teen years beganI was much less impulsive and I could regulate my anger better (though it’s still very present)
In fact, I’m highly intellectual and I work for what could be my future job/occupation/money etc. I’m much more of a loner than I was as a kid, and I only have very few friends and 2 very loyal “sidekicks” since I don’t seek nor am I interested in social interactions with random people and most importantly people I dislike. I just like to hang out with my friend group and relax with them. I can’t take personal attacks, they make me feel vulnerable, powerless, stupid, so I react pretty quickly to them if it’s my family or delay with friends (for the sake of our friendship)
The last paragraph is really the biggest change.
My friends/family describe me physically as: scary or intimidating to look at from afar. Walks quickly and moves hurriedly. Very different/contrasting behavior compared to the rest: remarkably expressive and straightforward. “Jokes around. doesn’t give a shit” (not my claim 💀)
I think I am a Se dom because=
I need engagement with the environment in any form. the exception being I don’t socialize much or go out of my house. I just engage with the physical world by doing many things through different ways, the greatest being passionate or exaggerated self expression through communication/ facial expressions/ voice tones and art (people have told me this). I do notice changes in the environment when I’m not doing something else: I have a knack of overhearing conversations in the background while I’m doing something else. Not to mention I have quick reflexes and get easily distracted with objects, sounds, smells, etc. I’ve also been told I’m equally blunt and straightforward with everyone regardless of our closeness. I’ve always hated being controlled and been real serious about freedom, and I refuse to be controlled even when I know it’s more convenient to let go.
I think I am a ENTJ because=
I just execute things even if I don’t like it. I’ve been told I think in shades of black and white, which I think could be inf fi. I’m pretty stubborn and confident about my viewpoints. I also have this great expectations of my future, so I put effort daily into my grades and scores because I think to myself that it all matters because everything I do today will determine my future (Te-Ni?). I’m highly organized and prefer having things under control. There’s also a logical reason behind the claims I make. I also engage with people even if they are strangers by helping them with work or things, helping people makes me feel good.
Info I collected about my worst faults (possibly Inf function)=
- indifferent overall in the exception of school or grades.
- Quick tempered and easy to anger
- too blunt and straightforward speech/ prone to using offensive language
- insensitive
Thant’s about it. I’ll do further research myself.
ENTJ sx6 683
Judgement > Perception. Te > Se. You're too focused on structuring the outer world, in organizing people and executing efficient strategies. You think on terms of benefits and results, even when it comes to people.
6>8. Attachment > Rejection. Head > Gut. You have a strong 8 fix but it is not your core. E8 don't think in terms of support as you do, look at how you worded your concerns about people = what you look for is support. 683 is overall quite an insensitive combo because the 8-3 stem makes the E6s attachment manifest in a pretty particular way. You're also focused on intellectualism and ideas in a way E8s don't. 6+3, you adapt your strategies.

Psychoanalyzing Mat Baynton’s Characters (Enneagram Types)
Right so I know probably no one cares about this, but I used to be super into enneagram types and I wanted to try typing the baynton boys :D I’m not an enneagram expert and honestly I mostly know about my type, so please don’t kill me if they are inaccurate. Also, I’ll add the others when I watch those shows if anyone is interested!
And if anyone is curious, my type is 7w8 sx/so :)
Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, and enneagram types are not the end all be all of a person’s personality, which is incredibly complex. Most people have aspects of every personality type, which is why your type is referred to as your core type, not your “only” type. :)
Note on Sx Subtype: I would just like to clarify because I’m not sure how many people who know about enneagram are reading this, the sexual instinct doesn’t have to do with literal sex. It’s also called the one-to-one subtype, and there are plenty of aromantic and asexual people that are sx-doms, because it has nothing to do with sex/sex drive. Instincts/subtypes are thought to be a result of our animal genetics, and therefore are based on what you feel like you need to survive or prioritize in order to have fulfillment. Eg. sx(sexual): needs to have an intense bond with a person; so(social): needs to have a group of people/societal recognition/a community; sp(self-preservation): needs to be able to survive on their own, concerned with safety/comfort/stability, as well as the health of their physical body.
---
Chris Pitt-Goddard - Type 7w8 sx/sp
Core Fear: Of being deprived and in pain
Core Desire: To be satisfied and content
MY MAN is the most stereotypical 7 I’ve ever seen(and I’m saying that as someone who is also a type 7). Though Chris is very loyal to his friends and is there for them, I’m typing him as a 7w8 since he doesn’t really seem to care about stability or security. He pretty much does or says whatever he wants in the moment, which I think is a more 7w8 mentality. A 7w6 would think about more about the possibility of danger or how it would affect the people around them, due to the influence of the 6. I think we can also see Chris integrate to 5 when he helps Tim with the court case, as he was extremely focused and determined and learned everything he could in order to help him.
I think Chris is a sx/sp with a social blind spot. Though again, Chris does care a lot about his friends, I feel like we don’t see much of the social 7 in him in terms of being self sacrificial and a people pleaser. He tends to just do whatever he wants and doesn’t really ask people for their opinion. Sexual/one-to-one as his dominant subtype definitely makes sense, when we see him with Bernie he’s completely infatuated with her(and maybe I’m just projecting, but as an sx 7 I can relate to Chris in terms of being super independent and all “i don’t need no man/woman” but then becoming the biggest simp when I get into a relationship). The self preservation secondary might be a hot take/I might be completely wrong because I’m 99% sure I’m self-pres blind, but from what I understand self-pres 7s tend to create a support system/safety net around them to fall back on. I think we can see this with Chris’s original job working at the computer shop, and his friendship with Tim. The social blind is evident just in that he doesn’t really seem to care much about the world around him/social recognition, he’s more concerned with doing what he wants for himself. A social dom/secondary would be more concerned with whether other people like them or not, which Chris doesn’t really seem to care about at all.
Ariel Conroy - Type 2w3 sx/sp
Core Fear: Of being unloveable and unwanted
Core Desire: To be loved
Maybe some will consider this a hot take, but I think Ariel being a type 2 is obvious. He has heavy integration towards 8 and 4, he’s just incredibly unhealthy. When unhealthy, Type 2s become obsessive and possessive, and they can feel entitled to other people’s love/gratitude(such as when he was lecturing Rhonda about how she should be more grateful for him saving her). We can see all of this in his relationship with Hawkwind, since he literally stalks her, and his entire pursuit of Jamie all has to do with him feeling like his mother didn’t love him and it made him feel inadequate/unworthy. His 3 wing is evident with his desire for success/wealth and even though he is more private, he still craves recognition as seen with his White Horse identity. His obsession with Jamie also makes sense with him being a type 2w3, as he feels like Jamie’s existence is a personal attack against him and his presence triggers his core fear.
Ariel’s subtype is probably sx/sp, with a social blind spot. I almost typed him as an sp/sx, but I think Ariel’s ultimate desire is to have someone. I think that due to Hawkwind’s absence his sp has developed more, to the point where they are very close in terms of effect on his personality. The sexual instinct is often described as a desire for “merging” with another person, and I think Ariel wants that kind of intense devotion from someone and will also reciprocate it. Sx/sp’s also tend to be extremely jealous and intense people. I also read something about Sx/sp that their secondary instinct is used as a means to an end to fulfill their primary instinct, which I think is clear in Ariel. Since sp is all about vitality, physical health, attractiveness etc, he would use this to his advantage to lure the object of his affections and portray an image of what he thinks they want. A good example of this would be when he kidnapped Frankie, I think he was being somewhat nice to her because he wanted Hawkwind to love him, but otherwise probably wouldn’t have put any effort into talking to her.
Though Ariel does seem to crave recognition from his White Horse persona, I think that’s more due to his 3 wing as opposed to having a social instinct. Ariel is very single minded and doesn’t seem to have any friends nor care about maintaining connections or social status, which we can see when he killed his Deus Ex partner without remorse and basically anytime he talks to another human being that isn’t Hawkwind. Some other good examples of this are when he kicks Rhonda out of the car after finding out she’s useless, and how he treated Sutton(sp secondary also with Sutton, when he asks her for money it’s to fulfill that instinct).
Jamie Winton - Type 6w7 sp/sx
Core Fear: Being without support or guidance
Core Desire: To have security and support
Honestly I struggled a bit between 1 and 6 for Jamie, but after considering instincts I realized he’s a 6(more on that later). Type 6 is notoriously hard to type, due to there being counter-phobic 6s and phobic 6s, but Jamie seems like a phobic 6. I think we see him shift a little bit towards towards the end of the show, especially as he gains more confidence in himself, which is something that a lot of 6s struggle with due to their constant anxiety and fear of things going wrong. Type 6 is known as the Loyalist and I mean… he was still in love with Layla, made videos for her everyday for 7 years, despite the fact that they barely spent anytime married together. If that’s not peak loyalty I don’t know what is! He’s very concerned with security and stability, and phobic 6s tend to place a lot of faith into rules/societal norms, which I think we can see in that scene in Ep. 1 where he is talking to Dave(type 7) in the kitchen about his career and paying the rent.
Speaking of Dave, 7s and 6s do tend to get along quite well due to both being in the fear/anxiety triad, but I find it fascinating to see how that plays out in their relationship. I think if anyone is struggling between 7w8 or 7w6, or 7w6 and 6w7, watching the two of them together and seeing which one you relate to more would be a good differentiator.
Onto his 7 wing. I think at first Jamie doesn’t seem like a 7 wing, but I think this is because he’s more introverted. I think he could have/be very close to having balanced wings. I don’t see him as a 6w5 because he doesn’t seem to struggle with feeling like he’s incompetent as often, which is the core fear of a type 5. We see that Jamie does have a desire for spontaneity, which is from his 7 wing, but being a core 6 he is able to reign it in and keep it controlled for the most part. I think some good examples off the top of my head of when it comes out are when he decides to go looking for Layla, when he lets Dave stand on the car(he almost didn’t, but he still did), and when he stands up during Layla’s case and offers to pay for her fine. Type 7s are also described as having intense FOMO, which reminds me of that scene when he’s talking to Layla about how he wishes he could’ve gotten to know Frankie sooner because he missed out on all those years. He could also originally have been a 6w5, but due to being friends with Dave he brings that 7 side of him out more.
Our only non sx-dom on this list! Maybe I’m biased on these because I’m a sx-dom haha. So, Jamie is very clearly an sp-first person, because he’s very concerned with safety, his environment, career, etc. Maybe sx-secondary will be a hot take, because I really went back and forth between so and sx as his secondary. However, I really don’t think a so-secondary/sx-blind would’ve still been in love with Layla and holding out hope for her after 7 years, and then welcome her back into their life as quickly as he did. Sp/sx 6’s also tend to look very One-ish, which makes sense in terms of why he can seem more like a 1 at times. Sp/sx’s are very concerned with their loved ones and their opinions of them, and their focus on security is shifted to the people closest to them. In episode 1, we see that Jamie is just going with the motions, living his life, because it’s safe and secure. However, once the apocalypse happens, his priorities shift to finding Layla, fueled by his secondary instinct. The sx-secondary also gives Jamie a bit more confidence than a so-secondary would have, as sp/so 6’s tend to be the most anxious of the 6’s. I think when the apocalypse happened, an sp/so would be much more worried about what this means for the world/his friends and family, as opposed to Jamie with his sx energy being like “im going to find layla no matter what”. :)
Thomas Thorne - Type 4w5 sx/so
Core Fear: That they have no identity/personal significance
Core Desire: To find themselves and their significance
Thomas is the most stereotypical 4 I have ever seen in my life! I think Thomas is a 4w5, because he’s more concerned with poetry because he loves/has an appreciation for it, as opposed to because he wants to become hugely successful off of it. He does still care about success/recognition, but not as much as a 4w3 would. Type 4’s are very concerned with what makes them who they are, and when they feel like they’ve discovered what that is they tend to become very attached to it. This is clearly shown with his poetry, as he’s constantly trying to write poems or make things sound poetic, because on some level he feels like if he doesn’t he won’t be “him” anymore(A good example of this is that scene where he’s sitting with Alison after they were camping, and what he said out of nowhere was very poetic and then he started trying too hard and she was like yeah no). Type 4s are also very introspective and tend to be extremely empathetic and understanding of other people’s emotions. Due to this though, they can sometimes come across as being a bit dramatic.
Onto his subtypes. Sx-dom is obvious, Thomas loves women and falls in love quickly, and his infatuation with Alison also points to sx-dom. I will debate on anyone else’s instinct stack except Thomas! “Divorce him, kill yourself, marry me” is such a stereotypical sx-dom thing to say, like I said before sx-dom is often described as a desire to “merge” with another person(Also idk why I thought of this for Thomas, but a good example of this “merging” idea would be with Morticia and Gomez from the Addams Family. Both of them are sx-doms!). As for his social-secondary, Thomas is very concerned with other people’s opinions of him, and he has a desire to be recognized/appreciated for his poetry. Sp-blind is obvious in regards to his death, he had no hesitation when defending the girl he loved and sacrificing his life for it. Even while he was dying, the first thing he asked was for his cousin to get Isabelle so he could say goodbye to her.
Sam Pinkett - Type 9w1 sx/sp
Core Fear: Loss and separation
Core Desire: To have inner stability/peace of mind
Sad times Sam Pinkett is a type 9, which is the hardest type to explain because it is so complex. Unfortunately Sam is very very much a 9, so I will do my best! So type 9s are known for being the all-rounders of the enneagram, in that they tend to have qualities of all the other enneagram types. Of course, all of us do no matter our type, but for type 9s this is the most prevalent. This is mainly due to the 9’s tendency to be self-dissolving, and as such they tend to accumulate aspects of all the other types as they go throughout life.
So, there are multiple reasons why Sam Pinkett is a 9w1. The first thing that clued me on in this is him saying he wants Lizzie to make all of his decisions for him, as 9s tend to be very indecisive and struggle with making decisions. 9s are very much known for responding with “you pick” when you ask them where they want to go/what they want to do. 9w1s, as opposed to 9w8s, also tend to be a bit more complacent and less confrontational which can be seen in Sam’s tendency to just “go with the flow” and kind of do what he thinks is expected of him, and he very much wants this kind of dynamic with Lizzie. Unfortunately 9s have a bit of a reputation for being a bit lazy, and this is mainly due to them being very risk-averse. I think we can see a lot of this in Sam’s hesitancy to leave his job even though it’s extremely clear he doesn’t really care about it. Another example of his slothfullness(is that even a word? idk) is when at some point during the show(I forgot when) he tells Lizzie he just wants her to tell him what she wants and he’ll do it so they can be together again.
The 1 wing adds a lot of morality to Sam’s character, and he is very concerned with doing the right thing, which is literally the entire plot of the show so I don’t think I need to explain that haha. Another example of this is when he first becomes friends with Phil, which (according to the s1 finale) he did because he “felt bad for him”. His entire display of anger during that scene is actually very 9 behavior as well, as 9s tend to have outbursts like that once their anger has boiled past the breaking point(this is bc 9s are in the anger triad, and their fixation is being out of touch with their anger. 9s are the type of people to say “I never get angry!” bc they are very concerned with being peaceful/nice, and then emotionally blast you to pieces lmao).
Onto his instincts. I think Sam being sx-dom is pretty clear, his fixation on Lizzie and desire for her to make all of his decisions is very sx-like to me. I haven’t talked about this in previous typings of the Baynton boys, but a lot of times with the sx subtype there is a distinction between an sx who wants to initiate the merging, and the sx who wants to be merged. I think Sam is definitely the type that wants to be merged with, and that’s why a lot of people see him as being a sub(valid). I think the self-dissolving aspect of the 9 comes into a lot of play with this as well, as Sam seems to be very focused on doing what Lizzie wants/expects of him as opposed to considering or thinking about his own wants and needs. Sx subtype also tends to add a dreamer-like quality to a type, and being that type 9 is quite known for being very daydreamer-y I think it makes a lot of sense for Sam. In the second season he talks about how he always planned on going to London and doing something with his life but never did, and I think this illustrates his daydreaming side + lack of taking action quite well. Sp for Sam is second because he doesn’t seem much concerned with societal recognition or friend groups, he actually seems to be quite lonely, and even in scenes when we’ve seen him with people he used to be friends with there is this sense of separation that is very characteristic of the sx/sp. He also seems pretty concerned with doing what he wants/living his best life, even though he doesn’t take action towards it in the beginning of the show, this fixation on it is characteristic of a character with an sp focus. When these two instincts come together, you see a person who is very drawn to intense/close relationships such as his relationship with Lizzie and his friendship with Phil, but a seeming inability and/or lack of desire to maintain fringe friendships with people.
Personally I fricking LOVE type 9s so I’m going to write a whole goddamn essay about Sam Pinkett apparently. I think the beautiful thing about The Wrong Mans as a tv show is that we see Sam go from a typical unhealthy/asleep 9 in the beginning, to a healthy type 9. We see a lot of instances of his 6 stress coming out when he becomes concerned with losing the stability Lizzie provided for him, but throughout season 1 and season 2 we see IMMENSE growth towards 3, which I love for him so much!! 9s go to 3 when they stop falling asleep towards themselves and begin to move/pursue something that they care deeply about, which again I don’t think I need to explain for Sam if you’ve watched the show haha. I think its great and honestly I think Sam is one of the best 9w1s I’ve seen represented in media, and I think it’s amazing how clearly you can see him move through growth as the show progresses. And that’s it that’s my Sam essay, hope you liked it. :)
---
Thanks for reading to the end! Again, please don’t take this seriously it’s just for fun!! :)

Qin Empire Series Netflix MBTI
Simply a masterpiece. Especially on ruling, reforms and transition of a country. Quite good, quite good.
Wei Yang (Shang Yang) - ENTJ 1w9 so/sp (Lion-Bird)
This man is so Te. All his decisions are fact-based with undertone of personal moral code. And his extremely high efficiency/energy level is also aided by his Te-dom and enneagram 1. He is more detached than Ying Quliang though, owing to both his Te-dominant and 9 wing.
Bai Xue - ENFJ 9w1 so/sp (Lion-Snake)
Ying Yu - ESFP 6w7 so/sx (Snake-Lion)
Ying Quliang (Duke of Qin) - ENFJ 1w2 sp/so (Badger-Bird)
Ideal ruler... Although his drive for perfection ultimately dooms him. He is marked with constant frustration (things should be better, he should be better, 'I don't work hard enough' - 1w2 + sp dominant) and his perchance for cooperation and persuasion rather than brute force (wing 2). His decisions are all people-based. Even his objection to the first mass executions came from a place of humanity ('harsh punishment will hurt people's feelings. What if people leave Qin for that?') He is also an excellent negotiator and mediator who is able to find a common ground with anyone. He always focuses on unity and consensus (New policy or Reform, both require change so let's discuss whether we want to change or not - Fe consensus seeking).
He always focuses on emotional wellbeing of people around him. Like, he saw Wei Yang overworking, he told him off because he 'cares' about his friend. He always focuses on people element of everything.
Ying Qian - ESFP 8w7 sp/so (Double Lion)
Duchess Dowager of Qin - ESTJ 1w2 so/sp (Lion-Badger)
Duke Xiao of Qin (Lao Qin) - ESTP 7w8 so/sp (Double Lion)
Lao Gan Long (the old cunt but smart af) - INFJ 9w1 sp/so (Badger-Snake)
His hallmark is the detachment from present reality and his attachment to a futuristic insight that everyone in his faction doesn't understand. He doesn't care if he has to wait decades to enact his plan, he knows he has to survive until then and focuses solely on that. A byproduct of his Ni-dom + 9w1 chillness (I'll wait until it's time, no need to rush). He often speaks in high abstraction that his more grounded apprentice (ISTJ 6w7 sp/so) and son find hard to understand.
He knew the timing wasn't right and waited patiently for 20 years before launching his masterplan to get rid of Wei Yang (even then being careful not to touch the reform, knowing the implication it'll bring to his cause and to his country as a whole). All of that speaks to Ni as his dominant function.
Ying Si
(First Season): ESFJ 6w7 (683) sp/so (Lion-Badger)
(Second Season): ENTP 6w5 (684) sp/so (Burnt Snake-Snake)
Gongzi Ang (yuck) - ESTP 3w4 sp/so (Glory hound Lion-Snake)
Wei Wang (Duke/King Hui of Wei) - ENTP 7w8 sp/sx (Double Snake)
Gongshu Cuo - INFJ 6w5 so/sp (Bird-Badger)
Pang Juan - ENTJ 6w5 sp/so (Double Lion)
..................................................................................................
Zhang Yi (second season)
ENTP 3w2 (379) sp/so (Lion-Snake)
Mi Yue (second season)
ESTP 3w2 (387) sp/so (Double Snake)
This version of Mi Yue is actually how I imagined her to be - a seductress with shrewd political instinct. Someone who can handle any and all situation gracefully (like how image type will be, generally) but also ruthless in her ambition and doesn't mind doing dirty things to get ahead. I love Sun Li version (which was ENTJ 1w2 sp/so Double Lion) but this version is just so iconic and bitchy.
I considered 8w7 at first, given how super aggressive and temperamental she could be, but her drive is still ambition. She is also more able to play the game, flattering people and doing image management (which are all 3. An 8 would just nail them to the ground instead of playing with them)
Wei Furen (second season)
ISFJ 9w1 sp/so
poor soul ...

hello! i’ve been contemplating for the longest time and still can’t seem to figure out what my core type is.. i know my tritype is 468 for sure, but the problem is that i had another person enneatype me and they said that there’s no way for me to be an 8 because of my mbti (NeFiTeSi) and that my behavior is mostly sx4 (which looks a lot like an 8) but i just don’t relate to any of the core fears or desires to confidently say i’m a 4.. it’s so tough! do you have any tips? i’ve looked everywhere and i am even with all these three (sx dom for all of them)
All of those types are the reactive types on the enneagram, so I understand how you may have confusion about which is your core.
Something to consider is do you mostly feel shame (4), fear (6), or anger (8)? I know sometimes when we're upset or scared our emotions can come out in the form of anger, or anger having sadness and shame underneath it, but try to consider which emotion you feel inside of yourself the most. Is there one that is more intense for you?
Another key difference between those types is that 4 is a withdrawn type, 6 is a compliant type, and 8 is an aggressive type. Yes, the outward behavior of an sx 4 can appear like an 8, but it is not an aggressive type in and of itself, so you would be more likely to withdrawal and internally stew on your emotions on your own before outwardly expressing them.
Also consider what makes you angry. Due to having shame at their core, SX fours are more sensitive to jealousy than 8s are. Their anger would be more likely triggered by jealousy, whereas an 8 would be angry because someone crossed their boundaries.
Hope this helps.

typing for @starboy505
everything fit like a puzzle, cleanest typing i've done, here you go: 🥇
esfp 9w8 sx/so 972
you're sensory-oriented, with a "hunger" for stimulation and to explore the world. you prefer adventure, and don't enjoy being in a state of boredom for extensive periods of time. honestly, you outline it yourself - se dom with a 7 fix.
when we narrow it down, being social isn't really confined to either estp or esfp - both can exhibit these characteristics (and are stereotyped to). but imo, esfp suits you a lot more. maintaining consistent values is definitely a fi trait to have, even if those values are blurry and hard to define. considering how esfp's are fi auxiliary, it's not surprising that fi may not be the most valued function.
even then, combined with your enneagram, the fi is almost "numbed," or overshadowed by your enneagram 9. this explains why, even if you have strongly felt values (beautiful no matter subjective beauty, kindness, etc), it might be hard to fully introspect and articulate what they actually are.
enneagram 9 was pretty clear. you tend to be positive, conflict-avoidant, and focus on maintaining a sense of harmony within your relationships. an 8 wing fits perfectly, as you explain being easily angered when those close to you are "messed with." being protective and highly loyal is def an indicator of social 8. this makes more sense, especially with your feelings with vulnerability and perceived weaknesses.
what made your 9 even clearer was the part about struggling to recognize your own needs. the enneagram 9's flaw is they neglect themselves, and end up pursuing relationships and attachments to others. thus, just like how you explain, the enneagram 9 is avoidant to abandonment. they don't want those around them to "drift away," the epitome of an sx9.
for the rest of your tritype, i settled with with 2 and 7. it came down to your sense of positivity despite risks, and your relentless optimism towards the future. 7 even checks out with your esfp and adventurousness. overall, 9, 2, and 7 are considered the "optimist" triad. i chose 7 over 2 for the fact that 2's and 9's often have conflicting approaches to relationships, while you seemed a bit more strongly leaning towards e9.

it really depends on whether you think sx is tied to the image triad, or whether you think sx is tied to the gut triad. Ichazo believed the mapping of IV to enneagram intelligence center triads was like so
Gut = sp
Head = Soc
Heart / Image = sx
Later theorists, including yours truly, think it is more like so:
Gut = sx
Head = sp
Heart / Image = Soc
So when people describe sx as being about peacocking a specific image to attract the right sexual partner(s), and repulse the wrong ones, they are taking on the view that sx = heart / image, and aligning with Ichazo's mapping.
When people describe sx as being about physical pleasure, physical addiction, extreme and risky behavior, etc. they are aligning with the other view that sx = gut. More specifically they are describing sx as a 7 or an 8. Lol. This description of sx as risk taking is somewhat accurate, but it is missing a lot of details, including the "why" of why sx is about recklessness and risky behavior.
Hopefully this will explain it.
Sx = attraction and repulsion to things and to people. Dealing with like and dislike. The most carnal and unrefined instincts are here. unhinged. following your desires. Merging with the object(s) of desire. Recklessness is associated with the sexual instinct because "like and dislike" does not care about your image and your esteem (Soc), nor does it care about your long term security, survival and resource abundance (sp). Sx instinct is capable of burning everything down that the other two instincts have tried to build, because it wants what it wants, impotently, in this moment, without regard for the past or the future. This is the "sexual relationships" portion of Maslow's hierarchy. Not shown in Maslow's sexual relationships area is the "like and dislike" aspect of the sexual instinct, which is not just applicable to people and relationships, but also to things and experiences. Part of exploring sexual relationships is exploring what you like and dislike in a more general sense.
Sp = survival in the most minimalistic form. fixation on resources, food, drink and shelter; base needs at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy are prioritized by sp-doms even when there's no need to prioritize them. Also, concern about the body's physical health comes under this instinct. Sp is about having "enough" resources and health to survive and its about the neurosis of potentially not having enough. This neurosis can be dealt with via extreme diligence and caution to ensure you always have enough, which can mean being frugal or hoarding. Or the neurosis about not having enough can be approached via a counterphobic, risk-taking response to the fear of death, which sp-doms often engage in via living a minimalistic life and dancing with death, to increase their innate survival skills instead of depending so much on external resources (depending too much on external resources is the trap of sp). Hence, sp is associated with the head triad with 6 at the center, and may also play a role in creating a risk-taking individual.
Soc = refinement of the image to communicate effectively with others. The development of self consciousness and the desire for esteem. The development of the Soc instinct marks the evolution from animal to human. This is the "esteem" part near the top of Maslow's hierarchy. Soc is never associated with the lower centers (the body triad) for obvious reasons. Animals, who are ruled by their lower centers, don't have self-consciousness and refinement of their image. Humans, who are distinguished by our connection to our upper centers, do... And this is what gives our ability to rule over this planet.
------
Since sex is considered the most carnal, animalistic, lower-body need -- and it's not just "considered" this, it quite literally involves the lowest body parts -- it makes sense that people associate sx with the gut triad, and associate sp and Soc with the higher, more mental aspects of being.
Sx is also described as being about attraction and repulsion. Who better than a gut type to instantly know what attracts them and what repulses them?
I really don't understand what Ichazo was thinking when he associated sx with the heart and the image. If someone could explain, please do.
All of this being said I think this debate about what sx "truly" is comes from people not agreeing on whether it's an imagey instinct or a gutty instinct. In my opinion, Soc is the imagey instinct and sx is a gutty instinct. If someone is worrying about editing their image to attract or repulse the right people... This is a soc haver and/or an image type. They might have sx in their mix... but this trait of image refinement is NOT sx related.
Sp is not sx
Mistaking sp for sx is a thing. One element of sp is the pleasure principle, ie hunting for physically and psychologically gratifying activities.
There are people who mistake high octane living and things like alcohol, drugs, and risky behaviour as signs of sx. Except that you’re talking about physical and psychological stimulation, which is tied to sp. Mistyping as sx-dominant, sometimes additionally sp-blind because of a need for partying and engaging with people. Add to that stuff like extreme sports but that too is a way of engaging with sp through challenging the body. When taken to the extreme, it’s a type of anti-sp: testing the sp-neurosis of survival and outlasting.
Sx is a more ethereal orientation towards chemistry in the broadest sense of the word. Hang ups around your sexual attractiveness - moreso than sx-second or sx-last - and prioritising chemistry above all. Sp is not sx.

how did you get into typo + figured out your enneagram?
Got into it in middle school because I was mentally ill and took every personality quiz I could find😭 I would literally spend hours on quizlet. So naturally I just stumbled upon mbti at one point and then got into ennea after getting tumblr at 14. My first type was Intj because thats what the test gave me 💀
I figured out I was an Isfp because I sat down my sisters and made them read through horrid cringe mbti posts and they went "well yea the artist fits you most ofc" (cus im good at drawing) and yea it was right 😭 Sometimes u just gotta go simple and admit to yourself you're a stereotype
With baby's first ennea core I went for cp6w5 actually. I just read through the description and went "yeah this works for me 100%". My first tritype + iv was spsx 648 because I was convinced Im this mean and dark person, also any abused kid identifies with 8 at one point lol.
Then people told me I wasn't aggressive enough, that I was too caring and a doormat, so I typed as 9w8 sxsp. The 9 lasted for a couple of years, turned to 9w1. The spsx became sxsp cus ppl said I wasnt contra. Its funny how people used to tell me I was way too mellow and chill to be contraflow and now they all insist I'm overly aggressive and so so so undeniably contra😭 The only reason I went from sxsp to sxso is because ppl agreed I was very sp-blind (as u can see, I've never changed anything about my type by myself. I usually always asked ppl around me how I come across) and I'm very obviously sp-blind so it was a good call.
I only stopped typing as a 9 like..a bit more than a year ago? I went from 946 to a 2 core 295 tritype. I had always really related to 2 but never typed that way because people insisted I was too much of an edgelord and too selective of ppl to be one. Now I think its just being cp6 + FiSe + sx-dom. So I went with 2 for a bit, but honestly it didn't make much sense and the 5fix was just so I could blame all my obvious headcore behavior on it😭 goofy.
But yeah then I just went with cp6 again a couple months ago, can't believe I typed my core correctly at 14 and then it took me 6 years to type that way again. I think its accurate, the only thing im iffy on is if im a p6 or cp6 (im sxso so its kinda hard to tell for me)
I guess my way of typing myself has always been about getting feedback/relating to others but it wasn't always right. My advice would be (if you're asking for advice) to keep it simple, to not dive into your own traumas or passions or whatever too much. Thats not typology, thats personal. Just think about what makes you you in the most basic way, how do you react to others, what do others see? What actions do you take? I think one can often blind oneself a lot. You only know whats inside your head, not whats subconsciously lying in your brain and you can get very caught up in your own idea of self-image. Other people have a better chance at guessing this. They see your body language, your behavior, your essence much clearer tbh. Just..base it on tangible things in your life.
Hope this long ass answer is what you were looking for😭 (I use this emoji way too much)

I got John Lucovich’s book “The Instinctual Drives and the Enneagram” a few weeks ago and read it, but it was a lot of information to absorb at once, so I’m rereading it in slower chunks this time to retain more of it. First, it’s an excellent book so I recommend buying and reading it. Second, rereading his extensive explanations of each social variant had certain people popping into my head, both characters and from my life that I could see correlate with each dominant. (It surprises me, but one of my friends appears to be a so/sx. I expected sx/so.) I can also see how accurately (at least, based on what I observe of these people) his blind-spot descriptions are.
Third, I do think I’m sp/so. I have a lot of social, but my main focus appears to be on self-pres and this has caused some conflict with social dominants in the past, where they couldn’t understand my casual detachment in that area (oh well) and I thought their over-focus on appearances was a bit much. I also want to pull away from people and be autonomous, where social dominants seem to want more of a constant connection. (Them: Wouldn’t us living together be incredible? I could see you all the time! Me: *looks on them with horror*)
One thing I really liked that brought my entire approach into context was this quote from the self-preservation section in general:
“Self Preservation types have a strong capacity for working and putting effort in a focused direction. They usually don’t have ambition for status so much as a drive for material or creative accomplishment, or for a place where their energy can be channeled into something practical and meaningful. Self Preservation builds a quality of persistent, useful energy that’s useful to building toward long-term aims.”
That... explains a lot about me, and my work process. How despite being an ENFP and having an overload of my ideas, I identify and focus on doing one massive project at a time, rather than flitting my attention between them. I stay focused. Work on things until they’re done. It demands enormous amounts of mental energy that soon deplete me and cause me to withdraw, feel tired, or just want to cozy up at home. This is why I’m not social or extroverted in a traditional sense. SP-doms are aware of energy expenditure and worn out by socializing. I can also tell where having inferior Si undermines being an sp-dom to some extent. I often work myself mentally into exhaustion, as John L. would call it, “overdoing it” rather than “under-doing it.”
My happiest and most mentally well times are when I allow myself to admit I am tired and quit work for the day, even if it’s not finished yet. When I push away my need for completion (low Te) in the knowledge that my mind and body needs down time to rejuvenate, and a one or two day delay at the cost of mental exhaustion isn’t worth it. Sensors and stronger Si types seem to be better at recognizing a need for rest than me.
I’ve been pushing myself too hard recently, unfortunately... but the bonus thing is, I am almost done with book rewrites! Just two more sections to go. :)
I took some notes on the things the types focus on under stress (this really brought to mind certain characters) to show you other useful things his book provides:
Enneagram types under stress:
Self-pres: fear of scarcity and harm
Social: fear of being ostracized, excluded, or abandoned
Sexual: fear of being undesirable and sexually overlooked
SP 1: reacts to hang-ups and imperfections in one’s lifestyle and environment as an affront to their idealistic sense of rightness and perfection.
SOC 1: becomes an impeccable exemplar of the values they wish their peers reflected, a “reformer” in the social realm.
SX 1: holds themselves, partners, and all relational dynamics to intense standards, to ward off sexual rejection through their own rejection of those who can’t measure up.
SP 2: projects scarcity onto others and acts as a caretaker at the neglect of themselves, running into exhaustion in hopes of reciprocation.
SOC 2: positions themselves as indispensable to loved ones by offering support, mentorship, or granting them access to important people.
SX 2: projects fears of undesirability onto others and then fills those needs to make them feel desirable or sexy. Makes themselves over to represent the “complete package” or “ideal lover.”
SP 3: works to excess to stave off scarcity while also performing their best version of abundance and success in a chosen lifestyle.
SOC 3: competes for status and embraces the best traits of their environment to be outstanding, inspiring, and invaluable.
SX 3: competes to the be the most attention-grabbing, majestic, and fascinating sexual partner around, and embody idealized traits.
SP 4: takes scarcity personally, as fuel for despair or something to rebel against.
SOC 4: represents their unique, edgy, mysterious side, while being aloof, keeping others desirous and fascinated y their presence.
SX 4: amplifies their intense personal “flavor,” mystique or talents to occupy a desired lover’s attention while trying to undermine any rivals.
SP 5: minimizes their dependence on any needs to give more energy over to concentration.
SOC 5: become “the expert,” offering their specialized understanding and insight to be an indispensable recognized expert, while trying simultaneously to distinguish and separate themselves from others.
SX 5: provides intense penetrating, captivating insight and focus, but abruptly withdraws when they feel insufficient energy to engage with a lover or that emotional demands are being placed on them.
SP 6: invests in and worries about the things that ensure their resources, and feel conflicted about upholding their obligations to others versus self-care.
SOC 6: defend friends, relationships, and values against harmful influences, and upkeep social agreements and structures as essential.
SX 6: exaggerates sexual characteristics and tests others’ levels of attraction by acting out to prove they’re exciting and desirable.
SP 7: launches into plans and backup plans of how to acquire a lifestyle that gives them the freedom to pursue what they like, and indulge in rewards in the meantime.
SOC 7: form many different connections, friends, and talents, to be able to contribute without giving themselves over to any one thing.
SX 7: use high energy, over the top spectacles to dazzle or entertain prospective lovers, but quickly move on if they fear rejection or boredom.
SP 8: hardens themselves, becomes overly intense and energized about securing necessary resources for their well being, “taking what’s mine.”
SOC 8: take charge of the social realm, be the galvanizing force.
SX 8: attempt to dominate their desired lover’s attention and energy, while using provocation to be “too much to handle.”
SP 9: uses comforts, work and exercise to “get by on little,” settling for small habits and comforts at the expense of finding and pursuing what they really want for their lives.
SOC 9: over-adapt to others in relationships and resign themselves too quickly into social roles.

[NGE] Asuka Langley Soryu ENTJ 3w4 so/sx
Zodiac: Sagittarius (December 4,2001)
MBTI
ENTJ (Te-Ni-Se-Fi)
Te (Extroverted Thinking)
“One most be graceful and efficient in battle” this line right here surmises Asuka’s Te. As a Te dom Asuka puts a heavy focus on efficient and objective logic. She has a no-nonsense attitude and straight forward way of thinking. Asuka likes talking control over situations and being in leadership roles. She constantly compares synching rates to those of Shinji and Red believing her to be better due to this.
Ni (Introverted Intuition)
Ever since she was little Asuka liked to maintain long term goals and focus on her life vision to become the greatest Eva pilot. Heavily Focusing on this idealistic projection of her makes her go tunnel vision in the early show and later on having to adapt to her Se. When it comes to Ni-Se users they have constant a battle of maintaining realistic expectations while shaping their Ni vision. And we can see this in Asuka’s arc through put the show. While some people type her as an ESTJ I believe ENTJ suits her more accurately due to her lack of attention to detail and not interested in meticulous processes like Rei (ISTJ) not to mention the her symbolism with dolls.
Se (Extroverted Sensing)
Asuka has a very good handle of her Se. Asuka is able to adapt quickly to some situation. However I wouldn't say her Se is good enough to make her an Se dom. She barely uses it on the show unless it comes to highly stressful situations (fighting angels). She is very good at acting fast when push comes to shove. Later on in the season we can see her go Te-Se loop when her syncing rate scores are threatened by Shinji. Becoming impulsive and reckless in order to get better results.
Fi (Introverted Feeling)
As most Evangelion these characters struggle with their Fi and Asuka is no exception. Arguably the character who struggles with it the most due to low in her stack it is. She has a very hard time trying to express her emotional desires and understanding them. Every-time Shinji tries to make an emotional approach to her she shuts him down and runs from him every time. Even when confronte with her Fi she deny’s it. Red herself tells her to open up her heart for the Eva or her sync rate was gonna go down.
Enneagram: 3w4 so/sx
There is an argument to be made about how she could be an 8w7 since she is constantly complaining about not being a doll (in her mind a loss of autonomy). However I believe her being an E3 suits her better since her primary way of gaining validation is through a professional lence rather than by becoming fully independent. While the doll part came later on in the season. However her craving for external validation might suit her more (something an 8 would deny).
Next is Rei Ayanami...
