#hello there#stanford pines#bill cipher#book of bill#gods ford was so on his way to becoming Bill 2.0#and the one - i cant say criticism because i know why things wrapped up so neatly - but the one...#comment i have about the end of season 2 is that forgiveness was given far too easily#theres so much shit all the main characters#but especially ford stan fiddleford and bill would need to deal with#and it seems the only character to encounter any consequences in the moment is bill#and at the very least ford has a shitton of reckoning to do#granted fiddleford and stan basically paid with their lives although in wholly divergent ways#i think what i'm trying to say is MIRRORING MIRRORING FORD AND BILL

😵😵😵 finished time war all in one 24-hour go need to go to bed dont have words for it today anyways but Damn. continued to enjoy the hell out of it till the end. pretty predictable plot or at least plot that eventually looped back around to address the questions i still had from the premise by the end = still really engaging execution. epub with book club discussion questions at the end of it really funny lol. "discuss how bigtime lesbian in love blue and red were" gist of most of them

It's their dad! Both kaname and oremeru's:) he's been In A State since the akehoshi papa incident, or i guess i should say his wife's death. Tomaytoes tomahtoes whats extremely traumatizing for one person's family is extremely traumatizing for the other person's family involved in the scandal too

Reading through the TV Tropes page on Hornblower after going off on my own weird Hornblower ramblings truly like touching grass in the best and worst ways possible
#i am fully aware that i have bizarre media literacy#this is because i encounter a thing immediately just turn it into a springboard for thinking about whatever i want to think about#and i think hornblower makes this particularly obvious like reading through how other people experience these books#(ESPECIALLY off tumblr or at least outside my general circle of mutuals and fellow hornblower understanders)#is just so completely different from how i experience them. because i am making them about things they are not about#anyways sometimes it is good to touch grass even when it makes me hate horatio :´)#need to be reminded of what the scope of the original books was even if i then choose to ignore it again#perce rambles#percy yells at cecil scott#that being said 'earn your happy ending' huh yeah right 🙄😒#absolutely hate the two stories at the end of crisis with a burning passion and i think he should have died in the hurricane. anyways

a fun fact about godhood is that the very, very basis of the worldbuilding has been around since late 2021. that includes the concept of the glass men and some of the characters, namely naying, xinza (not introduced, but he's a character), and setskya, as well as ashka. of course, they were completely different characters (not even an iota of similarity for the most part, except for some notable points that are spoilers). setskya and naying were NOT related for one.

All y’all going on about Sonic being nonverbal in his early years, KNUCKLES LITERALLY RAISED HIMSELF.
He survived purely on the basis that basically nothing on Angel Island could kill him and his own wits
He was otherwise completely alone with only other nonverbal company for YEARS, probably close to a decade before Sonic and Tails came along
My only working theory is that Eggman used the entirety of his abandoned pursuit of a teaching degree to give the Echidna a grasp of language before Sonic caught up to the crashed Death Egg
This would also explain the unfortunate instances of occasional sexism from Knuckles in some of his earlier iterations; Eggman would tell you nowadays that he was never That Guy, but he absolutely was and still is That Guy

like the wu ming reveal was all very nice but since this all happened nearly a thousand years before the events of books 1, 3, and 5 its like...okay? everything about their relationship in the flashback I either found creepy or didn't care about 😭 ik some fans like the idea of a character so loyal he's willing to destroy a whole country on the word of his god slash crush but umm I do not! also hc disguising himself as the child who was hanging out with xl was so weird why did he do that. age gap creepiness aside it was just stupid and eliminated a chatacter I was really excited about. and it pissed me off when he kicked qyz off the sedan chair like let him sit!!! his single-minded focus on xl got so so old and his insistence on inserting himself everywhere was intrusive and annoying! to me. got real tired of his 'fuck everyone else I got dianxia' mindset. immature. annoying. and unfair
#lwj is reserved and cool to strangers but hes not actively malicious or sadistic#he cares about his family and home and students and music#he does ignore ppl more than I'd like but hes not actively dismissive like hc often is#a small moment from the book I liked was when he first encountered 'mxy' he nodded respectfully in acknowledgement#obvi this doesnt mean mdzs or the writing for him isnt homophobic. it is. it has its own issues. Ive never even reread mdzs#but I think tgcf is just a less serious and more shallow and wishy-washy romance at its core#AND lwj is literally less petty and vengeful thab hc is even tho what jc allegedly did was way worse than what fxmq did#and lwj has literally a reputation for being petty so it doesn't seem fair that hc doesn't#actually tho I think much of that came from drama viewers who saw a gay man being kind of a dick to the guy who 1. was a dick to him first#and 2. suicide baited his loved one so I maintain thats reasonable#hes not unfair or short w anyone else#wait I lost my sentence structure. drama viewers labelled him as petty for being reasonably dickish to the dude he hates for good reason#which IS homophobic. but the comparative scale of mqfx's offenses + the fact that it happened so long ago and xl has long since recovered#makes hc look way more petty and unreasonable. but its not reflected in fan treatment or desc of him. tbf he gets over it by the end tho#ik cunty is a fun word but its not the only accurate one#tgcf txp#mdzs txp

I love talking abt books i read as a kid bc ppl expect like. Idk harry potter or percy jackson or smth and then im like so basically i became obsessed with this piece of historical fiction when i was eight because i misread "fearless" as "fairies" when i bought it at a flea market and i got too engrossed in the plot to be disappointed
#this isnt a im not like other girls this is a i was a fuck it we ball kid#like i never could accurately figure out the plot from the title nor did i ever properly read the synopsis#id just grab a book and go which is how i ended up reading animal farm when i was 10#tells you ALL you need to know about the type of kid i was#chattering#somehow i never encountered percy jackson in the wild actually. weird#im sure i would have loved it tho i ate up books like a monster

We've played this campaign and my snooty NB elf sorcerer* managed to outdo the moral chaos-energy of the Riddling Reaver to such an extent that the Dr. is wearing the pendant round their neck and has an invite to join the Reaver's cause later in life, when they are bored of their current adventures. Also they have Zagor's cat, and they call it Zagor.
*(demands to be addressed as Dr. due to their extensive magic studies)
Reading old 80s D&D clones and found the best villain scheme ever.
While everyone is conquering the world or bringing about the apocalypse, the Riddling Reaver (from Fighting Fantasy) is planning to use an ancient artifact to alter the universe. If he succeeds, rather then everyone's moral status being easily placed into one of nine unambiguous categories, Morality will be grey, blurry and impossible to uncontroversially define. At one point someone starts panicking about the terrible possibility of having evil people who don't know they're evil.
"This fuckers going to implement moral complexity in your game and it's up to you to stop him!" is such a high-concept extrapolation of the concept of an alignment system that I can't help but love it. The villain is coming in with postmodern accounts of intersubjectivism and someone needs to stop him reading them to the GM.
#They are secretly in love with the dwarf cleric that constantly refills their stamina for magic spells#We've played through most of the adventures that are based on the old books#ZAP is their favourite spell#One of the team was turned into a monkey by a genie for being rude and we almost liked him better that way. He could cast the Banana spell#Dwarf cleric also confessed return love in the middle of a battle but they both pretended to be brainwashed or lying after#We also fed a lake monster a summoned tooth-goblin holding a box that insta-kills on touch and ended the encounter instantly#Fighting Fantasy#Good Times#Zagor the cat's favourite food is bird men
