Hear me out what if in empires season two (and a possible season three) since flower husbands only had one date, nature wives aren’t canon, and Joey and Xornoth was over all just weird only Lizzie and Joel’s relationship is recorded in the prerapture history books.

Then you end up with things like, “Though Scott of Rivendale could always be seen wearing a wedding band no one is quite sure who he got married to and many historians believe that he wore it to get rid of people asking for his hand in marriage.” Then an image is included and it’s a golden ring with cod carved in it and emeralds between each one.

The same thing happens with Jimmy, “The Cod Father never wedded anyone but did wear this ring, possibly to avoid the trouble of being an unmarried royal.” Then bam! It’s a white gold ring with antlers carved into it and sapphires in between each!

Then with nature wives their rings are made of dark oak wood and have a vine pattern carved into them with emeralds and amethyst for the leaves and flowers. And then historians think that these clearly aren’t wedding rings since they aren’t nearly fancy enough.

Also bonus head canon about Joel and Lizzie’s wedding rings. Joel preposed to Lizzie with a gold ring that had a diamond on it. At their wedding Lizzie gave Joel a silver ring with Lapis and Prismarine creating a glowberry pattern on it. Joel gave Lizzie a gold ring that had peridot and amber making wave shapes.

Following @strawberri-animates's emptober idea, day one is normal but I didn't feel like writing an entire fanfic since I only remembered at 8:30 at night so just have some rambling about nature wives headcanons

Witches aren't allowed to marry humans because they're isolationist, but they took one look at Shelby and Katherine and went "these bitches gay, we can't stop them"

Katherine and Shelby's first kiss was in the Evermoore and the ghosts were just yelling "finally!" And bets were being cashed in

The witches are pretty "anything that isn't "normal" is bad" and so when Shelby looked through the library at Katherine's castle and found a book about the Emperors, she was absolutely thrilled to find a picture of High Wizard Gemini with a bi and a trans flag, she pretty much squealed about it excitedly the entire day

Katherine is naturally flirty, Shelby tries to flirt back but just devolves into incoherent muttering and blushing

Gem has literally sprayed Katherine with a water bottle because she wouldn't stop talking about how pretty Shelby was

How is any of this related to normal? This was originally meant to be domestic hcs but I'm ADHD and got sidetracked, also, no idea if I should tag the og creator of the Emptober calendar I'm following, don't know proper Tumblr protocol yet, sorry

S1E7, Gem's pov: I miss Scott and Katherine's plushy business :(

I mentioned somewhere before that it's the little things or the most minor of lore that I tend to stir my attention to. From fWhip's amethyst nightlight to the conversation between Scott and Saus abt mortals.

I'm conflicted on whether or not the plushy emporium be like a generational or heritage business sort of thing or a direct Scott and Katherine thing. Cause this was the episode where Gem created the WRA secret base and traded and got gifted a ton of iron by Saus, and I do have it that the WRA is a centuries old alliance.

So in other words, it's either current canon Scott and Katherine are selling their plushy to current canon Gem, or this is actually Scott's ancestor and the previous Overgrown Gaurdian, selling their plushy/doll to one of the Crystal Cliffs' historic wizard who created the alliance with the other rulers of the WRA.

I always think the hermits look like little bugs or beetles whenever they crouch (because of the way their elytra fan out), so I've decided that the hermit species in the empires x hermitcraft crossover were beetles.

Two (2) pairs of arms, shiny beetle wings, big beetle horns like some have, etc. And the extra pair of arms fits well because it's like the species evolved as builders and redstoners to work with their hands a lot, so they grew an extra pair :].

The rulers from more diverse climates (Fwhip, Gem, Scott, Katherine, Shubble, and Sausage) dress down slightly when they go to Mezalea, Pixandria, or The Ocean Empire on state business.

They wear looser more breathable fabrics, they walk with parasols or hide under the shade of trees to avoid the scorching heat and burning rays of the sun. Some of them decide to go barefoot, feeling the moss and sand as they walk.

They relax and lounge on the beach with a cold drink, beat the heat by taking a dip in the ocean. They genuinely enjoy the time they spend not stuck in meetings where the stuffy air and sweltering heat are inescapable.

On the other hand, the "Summer Empires" (Joel, Lizzie, and Pix) go through a hellish torture labyrinth when they have to visit the empires with cold climates during the winter- hell, during any time other than the summer.

Bundled up in multiple layers, violently shaking during meetings, spending every ounce of their free time huddled up in front of a roaring fireplace with a hot drink.

They think the snow is beautiful but going out to try and enjoy it or goof around is not worth getting soaked in the freezing cold. Ice skating, winter sports, completely out of the question because it's just more opportunities to pratfall and then get completely sopping wet when it's below freezing.

It's genuinely so pathetic, and they never ever get used to it. Jimmy just has to watch his allies nearly die from exposure every single year without fail.

As for headcanons I've talked ab it a bit before, mostly in the asks of my good friend and mutual Maris aromanticwhore since shey are like the only person I get to blab to ab this /hj but I can give you some copy/pasted here! More ramblings can be found in this ask!

So Jimmy is strictly a regressor. He regresses between 2-6 but tends to stay on the older side of things. He usually goes younger if he regresses impurely. When he's little he calls Tango "papa" and is the embodiment of "i have one child who has to be touching me at all times and if he is not touching me at all times, all hell breaks loose". He doesn't talk much, preferring to communicate by chirps and trills. (if we continue w the canary hc. Honestly the animal sounds could work for whatever hybrid you hc Jimmy as if any at all) His favorite things to do when small are play w his pets and be read to :) Tho he does have a few favorite toys always laying around

Tango has those "cool uncle babysitter" vibes. On Hermitcraft he doesn't have a specific little he takes care of, he's mostly a babysitter. Jimmy is his only permanent little. He's pretty easy going, but that's bc Jimmy's an angel to care for - as are most of the littles he watches. Being a caregiver is just as stress relieving as regressing is for others. He sometimes neglects his own needs when he works so having a little need him takes him out of that headspace and grants them both time to relax :D

And as for your questions; I have a fic where Tango is brought over by Goddess!Pearl and besides that and the rift (which is canonically solidified) I can't think of a way he could cross over to Empires. So he probably can't/doesn't server hop to care for Jimmy. That and he wouldn't have a way to know seeing the difference in servers (I mean unless we use fanfic logic then yeah totally possible).

And maybe he did bring Jimmy some gifts from Hermitcraft :) Maybe a little gift from Decked Out like a stuffie of a Warden (we all know the rancher's connection to wardens) or a mini redstone music box (that definitely doesn't play wonderwall). Something practical that his little would love and use all the time :3

(guys I'm back with another essay long headcanon ,.I have to much time on my hands 😔)

I like to think some hermits with non overworld origins have never seen snow (like me before it snowed 8.8 inches in Florida where It hasn't fr snowed In like 50 years and they cancelled school for a week - I mean what?) they just see this mysterious white powder that makes your hands numb floating down from the sky and are like "what. is this like, ashes? nuclear fallout? drugs??".and one of the other has to explain "yeah that just. happens sometimes. we kinda just deal with it and move on" but even after years of living in the overworld they're still not used to it and just. look at it. In awe. everytime it snows.

NAH YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS THE END?! IF YOU THINK THESE HERMITS DON'T HAVE AN ORGANIZED SNOWBALL FIGHT EVERY YEAR YOU ARE WRONG. THIS THING HAS BETRAYALS, ALLIES, AND IS A FULL ON MONTH LONG WAR.

(don't ask them what the rules are, no one knows. they decide who wins by who has to get treated for frostbite the least) (its not a snowball fight on the hermitcraft server unless someone loses a finger)(or gets hypothermia)(it's usually bdubs)

tbh the reason bdubs always gets hypothermia is because he always hides in an impressively camouflaged igloo the entire month with a continuously growing pile of snowballs that may or may not be the size of a house of which he refuses to "come out we have hot chocolate" this is not helped by the fact they are shouting this into the open air hoping he is somewhere nearby as bdubs hide and seek skills are exquisite, and he refuses to "forfeit" the game by "giving in to the enemy" no matter how many hot drinks and blankets are promised

grian is treated like Schrodingers ̶C̶a̶t̶ (that's supposed to be a strike though btw) parrot, as in "if I don't check, he is both at once and therefore cannot hit me" (which he might be because grian will be grian fr) check being check to see if he is hiding around the corner with the ball of ice he passes off as a snowball which he never the less will be . Staring at you. (Until he starts pelting ice chunks at you. He might still be staring, but no one knows because they're too busy running away to check)

Cub sees grian standing in the door way and just dodges them. Without moving from his spot. He just dodges.

Did doc invent a large snowball firing machine that could knock over even the feistiest gem. Yes. Was he also banned from using it because it would break the server as well as the gem? Yes.

Do not .I REPEAT, DO NOT take the snow from pearls backyard. It may look safe, but I guarantee you, that snow has been peed on by a dog.

pearl is also over here staring into the open sky menacingly throwing a snowball between her hands. "Whatcha doin?" "Threatening grian" "?" "He'll know"

An unidentifiable being that you cannot look directly at but definitely has deer antlers floats down from the sky landing daintily on top of a kraken tentacle holding a glowing golden chest adorned with many beautiful designs and engravings. The chest floats down, gently landing on the floor in front of gem. "Thanks 👍" gem says looking directly at it with literally no trouble because she's just like that- the chest opens to reveal a hole to a pocket dimension full of unmeltable snowballs and a note that says "I heard you needed snowballs for a fight? Who am I to deny my champion a good war :D anyways usual Thursday gossip sesh still work?" This is probably a bad thing because if patron deities are about to get involved, this fights 'bout to get CRAZY . I would say it's impressive help from deities hasn't been banned yet, but there is both no rules and that would also disqualify a significant amount of hermits from playing

Pearl decides that the easiest way to win would be to get the moon involved, its basically a giant snowball right? This is quickly put a stop to. No one wants a repeat of moon big. How she was able to ask the moon though raises questions...

Biblically accurate angels look kinda like snowballs right? This is skizzs logic. He might have scared some people though... Alternatively, he divebombs people with an arm full of snowballs while laughing maniacally

Alternatively alternatively,skizz distracts them with dad jokes, and impulse comes at 'em from behind this works like a charm if you ignore all the times this ended up with impulse face down in the snow and skizz pointing and laughing before he gets a face full of the snow as well

Joel also prefers the tactic of laughing manically while chasing you with his (suspiciously yellow) snowballs (don't worry it's just from the honey) (or is it???)

COINCIDENTALLY (or not) one of these famed snowball fights during the empires crossover. This has resulted in some non hermits becoming aware of this amazing event and being roped in. This has subsequently resulted in many more people for me to think of head canons for 👍 yay !

Scott is just having fun making his snowmen with jimmy and gets pelted (dont worry though this results in many many shovels of snow being dumped down jackets and onto heads by Scott)

Jimmy wills get hit with one snowball and instinctively block it with a wing and start yelling and chasing people down with "I'm not a toy" level rage but then spend all day complaining to grian about how wet his feathers are now

Sausage will inevitably make a ball related joke

Oli will start singing the ballad of the snowball fight or something

jimmy will also start making a rube Goldberg style sort of machine or something outside of Grians house consisting or two oranges one milk carton five glass bottles 'organically sourced' wood planks, diamond ore wiring from the bowels of docs latest redstone machine, tango, some suspicious milk (not in the carton I might add) one of pearls dogs sitting precariously on a teetering wooden board (it looks quite surprise on how it got there) (don't tell pearl) an anonymous persons plushy, some number twenty two pencils (not sure where those came from) a Giga Pie, some royal emeralds, and a large boulder sitting at the very top, worryingly positioned above the dogs head. All of this to drop a bucket of powdered snow on grians head when he walks through. This is the ruined of course when who but grian himself walks up behind him and just straight up WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR. and then the bucket falls on Jim's head while his mouth is still open in shock. Sorry Jim.

Bonus: I have this very clear image in my head of Martyn hearing all bout this and being like "you didn't tell me ren >:(" and ren just stand their sheepishly. About a week later, Martyn is visiting the hermitcraft server and someone throws a snowball at him. He is sitting in a pool chair. He catches it without looking. This is why they did not tell him.

anyways here are some doodles of gem and fwhip as kids in my grimlands-edwardian-steampunk-au-headcanon-thing :3 its also vaguely goth. its nothing about mourning or anything its just black is the most predominant colour in grimmish fashion. maybe white is their mourning colour because it implies youve taken a step back from your work to mourn (since grimlands society is very based around manual labour type jobs or something idk)

is my headcanon that after esmp1 Joel died, his crown was stolen/looted off his corpse and got bounced around a lot (probably melted down into multiple forms a few times) until it ended as the Sheriff star worth any shit or am I just crazy
