Every Episode of Timeless ⤷ 1x08 “Space Race”
Trust me, you do not want to drink the cup of coffee I would bring you after grabbing me like that. And by the way, my name is not "Doll," or "Sweetheart," or anything else that sounds like a baby. The women here have actual names. I'm sure you can learn their names. It's not that hard. Kinda like making coffee for yourself. You're a rocket scientist—figure it out.

I don’t know if someone else finds this funny, but I crack up a little every time when I see two actors who I know aren’t Americans speaking to each other onscreen with American accents. I just imagine them laughing about it afterwards. Off the top of my head.
1) Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt in “A Quiet Place Part II”.
2) Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson in “The Devil All the Time”.
3) Andrew Lincoln and Lennie James in “The Walking Dead”.

Film Premise Challenge: One Director, Two Actors, One Genre - Entry Ten.
This will be a semi-regular series, where someone has to nominate a Director, minimum of two Actors, and a Genre, preferably ones who have not worked together before. I will then come up with a premise / story based on those parameters. Some of these may be more detailed than others, but overall, it’s mainly a bit of fun. If anybody would like to submit an idea, then please do!
Entry Ten, the director nominated is…Denis Villeneuve. The nominated actors, of which there were two, are…Bryan Cranston, and Emily Blunt. The chosen genre is…Thriller.
The film starts with a de-aged Brian Cranston taking his young 10 year old daughter to a theatre show, where his daughter goes to the toilet halfway through. After a while, Cranston goes looking for her, & calls the police in a panic, the police investigate & find evidence that Cranston's daughter had been taken. This leads to Cranston doing press conferences begging for his daughter back, & begins to become obsessed with finding out who took her, blamed by his wife who leaves him afterwards.
Meanwhile, we cut to Emily Blunt locked away in a hidden room. An older gentleman appears & introduces a young girl to Blunt, telling her "she's your new daughter". Blunt is suicidal & depressive at her captor, but becomes protective of this young girl from the predator.  We cut between Blunt protecting the girl & formulating a escape plan against her rapist, whilst we see Cranston lose his wife & job. At one point, he desperately intrudes on a crime scene of a young murdered girl, only to find it isn't his daughter, killing his hope.
Tumblr media
But after a very tense & terrifying escape attempt by Blunt, she accidentally kills her captor by sending him down a flight of stairs, discovering an unsuspecting & traumatised captor's family. Blunt & the girl escape & are found by police & taken to their headquarters, the police call any living relatives, including to Cranston. When the families arrive, we see the young girl & Blunt escorted down hallways, with Blunt taken into a room, when an old Cranston is waiting. The two breakdown to flashbacks, reuniting after 20+ years of survival.

When Green Turns Red
Emily Prentiss/Reader
Rating: Mature 18+
Chapters: 8/?
Words: 1862
Categories: Angst, Jealousy, Injury, Eventual Smut
The rest of the team is already gathered together when you and JJ make your way back inside the station. Emily's eyes follow you as you walk into the conference room, but you avoid her gaze. Instead, you make your way to the other side of the long table and lean against the wall, trying to focus on Morgan and Hotch as they go over new leads.
They’re interrupted when the phone on the table rings, Garcia’s voice crackling out of the speakers.
“I’ve found something on Preston,” she says, “he’s been paying the medical bills for a woman whose son, Trevor Mills, fits the profile of our unsub to a T.”
“Trevor must feel beholden to Preston. He probably idolizes him,” Rossi deduces.
Hotch nods, "Preston is manipulating the Mills family to further his own agenda. He’s behind everything. Reid, Rossi, I want you two to pay Trevor Mills a visit. Find out what you can about his relationship with Preston.”
You can't help but feel a twinge of envy as you watch Reid and Rossi leave, wishing that you were going with them. Anything to get some distance from the thick tension that clings to the air between you and Emily.
JJ gives you a sympathetic look as she too is called out of the room, leaving you and Emily alone in awkward silence. You know you should focus on the case, but all you can think about is the detective's flirty banter and the familiar blush that painted Emily's cheeks.
You make your way over to the evidence board in an attempt to concentrate. Staring at the case notes, your mind races, making all the details blur together.
As you try to push the unwanted thoughts away, you hear the faint scrape of a chair as Emily stands from her seat. Her footsteps are soft on the carpeted floor as they approach, stopping behind you. She's close enough that you can hear the quiet sounds of her breathing.
"Are you okay?" she says tentatively.
Keeping your eyes on the board, you reply shortly, “I’m fine.”
"I know we need to talk," she says, her voice barely above a whisper.
Your jaw clenches, "No, we don't."
Emily sighs in exasperation, the sound heavy with defeat. The weight of her gaze is heavy on your back as she waits for you to turn around to face her, but it’s a lost cause. The sound of her footsteps echo throughout the room as she retreats. Only when you hear the door click shut does your body relax.
-
After pointlessly going over old leads to distract yourself, you decide to take a breather to try and get your head on straight. Managing to avoid the rest of the team, you make your way to the small precinct bathroom, finding it blissfully empty. You brace yourself on the sink, reluctantly meeting your own eyes in the mirror. The pain in them is obvious, and you know if you can see it then the rest of the team can too. You hang your head between your shoulders, unable to meet your reflection any longer.
The bathroom door creaks open and you automatically whip around at the sudden sound. Hesitantly, Emily steps inside once she sees you. Turning back towards the mirror, you close your eyes, feeling the frustration you've been trying to subdue rising. Your hands tighten around the edge of the sink as she takes a cautious step closer.
“Can we please talk about this?” she asks, her voice a mixture of begging and frustration.
“I told you, there’s nothing to talk about,” you say flatly.
“Yes, there is,” she insists, “What you heard in the break room-”
“Emily, stop.”
She shakes her head, “The detective-”
The mention of the woman frays the last nerve you have. You spin around to face her, feeling anger burn in your eyes. “I don't need to know. I don't want to know. So just stop!”
She straightens her back, standing her ground against your ire, “No, I owe you an explanation.”
You rake your fingers through your hair in frustration, “You don’t owe me anything! We’re not together. Technically, we never were. So you can date whoever you damn well want to!”
You could hear a pin drop in the silence that follows. Emily’s eyes fall to the ground and she buries hands in her pockets to hide how they are trembling. In your refusal to let her see how much it actually hurts, your words came out harsher than you intended.
Taking in the look on her face, your heart drops. Regret twists uncomfortably in your stomach, but you don’t take back what you said. After all, it’s the truth, no matter how much it pains you.
Your composure is crumbling, everything you’ve pushed down inside threatening to tear its way out. Without another word, you hurriedly brush past her and make your escape out the door.
-
Time ticks by painfully slowly as you wait for the next lead, your knee bouncing up and down restlessly. In an effort to avoid the friction between you and Emily, you’ve been deliberately steering clear of any conversation that’s not strictly case related.
When Morgan’s phone rings, you listen eagerly, hoping you’ll finally get a reprieve from the precinct walls. Your wish is granted. Rossi passes on Hotch’s order for the rest of the team to get to Hillary’s Ross’s house, as she could be the next victim. Unfortunately, your relief at finally being given a task is short-lived. You realize you're teamed up with not just Morgan, but Emily as well.
As the three of you load into the SUV, Rossi warns you about what they had discovered at the unsubs house.
His voice is urgent over the speaker, “It's all about the election. He knows this could be his final mission and he may want to go out in a blaze of glory.”
You nod gravely from the passenger seat, “Surrender is not part of his strategy.”
-
Once again, the call goes to voicemail as you try to make contact with Hillary Ross.
“She’s still not answering,” you say in frustration, bracing yourself as Morgan abruptly turns a corner. You try the number one last time as you pull up the address, “Still nothing.”
Emily points to the vehicle in the driveway, “That’s her car.”
The three of you get out of the SUV, standing on the sidewalk as you watch the house for any sign of movement.
“Alright, you two go around back,” Morgan signals to you and Emily, “I’ll draw his fire while you flank him.”
Emily visibly tenses, “Are you sure you want to split up?”
“We’ve got to cover the back and the front in case he runs,” Morgan explains shortly. You can see the turmoil on Emily’s face as her eyes flicker to you.
Morgan takes off towards the house and you go to do the same, when you feel a hand grab your wrist. You turn around impatiently, but the feeling quickly vanishes when you see the visible panic on Emily’s face. Her dark eyes drill into yours, and you know what’s going on inside her head without her having to say a word. You grasp her hand, hoping the touch provides the reassurance that you don’t have time to verbalize.
Emily’s voice is tight, “Be careful, okay?”
You nod, giving her hand a brief squeeze before you both break away and advance towards the back of the house.
Emily takes the lead as you approach the back entrance, weapons drawn. You're right behind her as she pushes the door open.
“FBI!” She declares.
From where she’s standing, she doesn’t see the unsub across the room, but you do.
Without a second thought you throw your body against Emily’s, shoving her out of the way. The burn of the bullet hits your arm before your ears even hear the shot. Before the unsub has a chance to shoot again, Morgan rounds the corner from the front entrance. He fires his gun, and the ambush causes the man to hastily flee up the stairs. Sinking down against the wall, you press your hand against your injured arm.
Emily crouches in front of you, her voice shaking, “You’re hit.”
“I’m fine,” you insist. When she doesn’t move you push her away with your good arm, “Emily, go!”
There’s a pained expression on her face as she looks at you, before she takes off after Morgan.
As you watch her disappear from sight, your adrenaline starts to kick in. The rapid fire of gunshot echoes from upstairs, and each shot causes your racing heart to pound even harder. You hear Morgan yelling, but you can’t make out what’s being said. Ignoring the searing pain in your arm, you listen intently for any clue about what’s happening.
Suddenly, the chaos ceases, and everything goes quiet. You anxiously hold your breath, waiting for any sign that they’re okay.
Finally, you hear footsteps start to descend the stairs and you breathe a sigh of relief. Emily and Morgan round the corner, both shaken but unharmed.
Emily holsters her weapon and rushes to your side, falling to her knees in front of you. Her eyes are wide with concern as she gently moves the hand you have pressed to your injured arm. With trembling fingers she peels back your sleeve to examine the wound.
“It’s not too deep,” she murmurs, almost like she’s talking to herself. You let her fuss over you, even though you know you’re okay.
Moments later, the house is swarmed with armed officers and medics. Emily steps back to allow the EMT to take a look at you, nervously chewing on her fingernails as she watches.
The EMT repeats what Emily stated, that the wound isn’t too deep. However, you’re still going to need stitches.
Emily quickly steps forward to help you up, ignoring your protests that you're fine. Once you’re steady on your feet, you slip out of her hold and follow the EMT’s to the ambulance that’s parked outside. You expect Emily to stay in the house to process the scene, but when you sit down on the back of the ambulance, you realize that she's been next to you the whole time.
As the medics tend to your arm, you distract yourself from the pain by watching Emily. Her agitation is obvious, no matter how hard she tries to hide it. When you wince as the anesthetic is injected into your wound, her knuckles turn white as she clenches her fists.
"Emily," you say, your voice soft but firm. She doesn't move, her gaze still glued to your arm as it’s bandaged. "Emily,” you repeat, louder this time.
Her head snaps up, and she meets your eyes for the first time since you left the scene.
“You don’t need to be here,” you say matter-of-factly.
Instead of responding, she fixes you with a glare, her eyes flashing with something far deeper than worry. The sight makes the wheels start to turn in your head.
That’s when it hits you, she’s not agitated, she’s angry.
