Starter from Cohen to Lincoln - @antiiromanticx Location: Central Park.
Two beers were immediately pulled from the box he had just purchased as soon as he stepped foot outside the shop he had brought it from, eagerly opening one for himself as the box was set down on the concrete, before extending one to his friend who had been waiting outside. “You’re not working tonight or anything, right? Cause that’ll kill my vibe.” Lid was thrown to the gutter before him, immediately pulling the bottle to his lips and allowing for comfortable silence to engulf them as he savored the taste. “We’re supposed to keep it going, not finish at 4.” They hadn’t started anything, and it hadn’t even hit 5 o’clock yet, but there was never a reason needed in order for Cohen to crack open a cold one.

The Next Stage of This Chess Game to Protect All Democracies and Free Peoples of the World is Joining the Democracy-Loving Freedom-Fighters on Bluesky. This is my 47th message on behalf of the only legally qualified 47th President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
Leading up to, and immediately after the U.S. election on November 5, 2024, the MAGA/QANON trolls were feeling pretty emboldened here on Tumblr. Each one of you here on Tumblr have joined together and massively reduced the MAGA/QANON trolls influence in your Tumblr social/safe space.
You've literally driven away the darkness of their lies, hate, and misinformation with the light of your love, the truth, and the law. If you'd like to meet a lot of other like-minded democracy-loving freedom-fighters like yourselves, they're gathering, organizing, and fighting to protect all democracies and free peoples of the world over on Bluesky.
You can find the Bluesky accounts for Marc Elias, Democracy Docket, CREW/Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, Glenn Kirshner, Harry Litman, Michael Popok, Andrew Weissmann, Brad Moss, Adam Kinzinger, Democratic Leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, the MeidasTouch Network that's beating Fox News and Joe Rogan in the viewship ratings, the Lincoln Project, Brian Tyler Cohen, and many, many more by following those accounts and the people they've curated for you in their starter packs.
Here are a collection of messages with information that none of the democracy-loving freedom-fighters over on Bluesky are talking about. Please help me share this information with as many people as possible on Bluesky. Bluesky is where this information will go mainstream and spread like unstoppable and invevitable wildfire to stop donald trump from ever holding any federal or state office in the United States again; either now, or in the future. Thanks in advance if you choose to join the fight for all democracies and free peoples of the world over on Bluesky.
On 12/17/2024, state electors & governors attempting to vote for, & create certificates of ascertainment to elect, disqualified insurrectionist Donald J. Trump would be instantly disqualified from holding any office per Sec3/14A of the U.S. Constitution, thereby rendering all their actions unlawful.
Under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, any person who has sworn an oath to support the U.S. Constitution in order to hold either a state or federal office, and then engaged in rebellion against the United States, or provided assistance to any insurrectionist, is disqualified from being an elector.
Under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, any person who has sworn an oath to support the U.S. Constitution in order to hold either a state or federal office, and then engaged in rebellion against the United States, or provided assistance to any insurrectionist, is disqualified from being a governor.
Donald J. Trump is a disqualified insurrectionist attempting to hold federal office in violation of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. A U.S. electoral vote, or a ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court, can't clear his insurrectionist disqualification; only a two-thirds vote of the House and Senate can.
State electors and governors in AL, AK, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MI, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, WV, WI, and WY attempting to vote for, or create certificates of ascertainment to elect, Donald J. Trump would be engaging in federal election crimes.
On March 4th, 2024, SCOTUS advised Donald Trump to have 87 Democrats in both houses of Congress remove his insurrectionist disqualification from holding any federal office again; because if he didn't, nothing could stop Democrats in the House and Senate from disqualifying him. He failed to do so.
SCOTUS can't force any state electors or governors to disqualify themselves from holding any state office by violating Section 3 of the 14th Amendment by giving aid & comfort to a criminally indicted and federally prosecuted disqualified insurrectionist presidential candidate named Donald J. Trump.
Kamala Harris' Existing Electoral College Votes: 226 + 89 Electoral College Votes From Democrat Governors in Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin = 315 Electoral College Votes (Better-Than-2020 Landslide Victory!). Those 89 votes belong to Kamala.
State electors and governors could be engaging in fraud by an elections official, conspiracy against the United States, corruptly obstructing, influencing, and impeding an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights by giving any assistance to disqualified insurrectionist Donald J. Trump.
The SCOTUS "Berger test" states that to disqualify ANY judge in the United States of America: 1) a party files an affidavit claiming personal bias or prejudice demonstrating an "objectionable inclination or disposition of the judge" and 2) claim of bias is based on facts antedating the trial.
Due to MAGA SCOTUS' ridiculous unconstitutional Anderson opinions regarding federal enforcement of Sec3/14A against Donald Trump; and per the SCOTUS "Berger Test," Donald Trump's MAGA SCOTUS can no longer accept any cases pertaining to any issue in any civil or criminal case involving Donald Trump.
Once you've stacked those messages up as your starter posts to identify yourselves to other democracy-loving freedom fighters on Bluesky, if you want to send a message to all the MAGA/QANON cult trolls and so-called "patriots," you can help them reevaluate their so-called "patriotism" and "special/superior knowledge" by parking/pinning this message at the top. And if you really want to address the darkness of their hate, lies, and misinformation, feel free to download this image and use it as your avatar. If there are hundreds or thousands of us using this patriotic avatar over on Bluesky, the MAGA/QANON cult will see us as an organized force of love, the truth, and the law that's come to drive them and their darkness of lies, hate, and misinformation off of Bluesky and back over to "Dark MAGA X" where they belong.

Overall, the bluest names with at least 5,000 major-party voters are Imani, Latoya and Tamika for women and Jermaine, Darnell and Malik for men. On the other side of the political divide, we find Brayden, Colton and Tanner for Republican men and Darla, Misty and — ironically for the party of Lincoln —Dixie for women. Incredibly, some names switch parties depending on whether you give them to a boy or a girl. Most women named Laverne are Democrats, while most male Lavernes register Republican. Tyler, Dylan and Toby see similar splits. Jean and Shelly swing in the opposite direction: A female Jean is more than twice as likely to register Republican as a male Jean would be. The politics of a name also depend on the era in which it was chosen. For older Democrats of both genders, Willie is one of the bluest names, as are Roosevelt (for men) and Hyacinth and Queen for women. For younger women, the equivalent names would be Imani and Ayanna. For younger men, they’re Malik and Jermaine.
For young Republican men, the most partisan names are Brock or Colton, while their retirement-age friends see a strong rightward lean when they meet a Galen or a Brent. For Republican women, young Gracie and Bailee give way to older Leann and Jolene. A select few names have also changed their political polarity over time. The most obvious? If you meet a woman named Reagan age 45 or older, when the name was rather rare, she’s probably a Democrat. If you meet a Reagan age 44 or younger — and therefore born after GOP phenomenon Ronald Reagan won the 1980 presidential election — she’s much more likely to register Republican. More often, though, the trend runs in the opposite direction: Older folks register Republican more often than their younger buddies with the very same name, presumably because younger voters lean left. We see old Republicans and young Democrats all named Terrell, Dwayne and Darrell — names that further analysis shows either belong to younger Black men or older White ones. We also see that pattern with women’s names that lost popularity among White people: Janet, Darlene and Karla have grown more Democratic as they’ve grown more Hispanic. Similarly, Joy has moved left as it has been adopted by more Black women, and Kathy followed suit as its popularity grew among their Asian and Hispanic friends. Among women, only Mattie and Gracie shift left among older voters. Further analysis shows both tend to belong either to older Black women or younger White ones. For men, we see the same trend in Old Testament favorites such as Levi and Seth. In perhaps related news, the most common surname for a Seth in his 5os or 60s, when they lean left, is “Cohen.” The top surname for a Seth in his 20s or 30s, when they lean right, is “Johnson.”
this is very interesting. I'm assuming that most female Jeans are old white women and male Jeans are likely Haitian or from French-speaking African countries. Hyacinth is also interesting as it's an extremely uncommon name in general and I don't think associated with any particular ethnic group.

The funniest show on television is Girls5Eva, which transplanted from the backwoods of Peacock to the mires of Netflix for its third season. While a lot of shows have taken off after landing on Netflix — You, for instance — Girls5Eva, from the data available publicly, didn’t get many viewers on the platform. I’m no expert on the mechanics of streaming, but I have one radical explanation for why this is happening: There are simply not enough episodes of Girls5Eva available to watch. On Peacock, the show had two eight-episode seasons. Netflix has given it an additional six. That means that Girls5Eva has aired, in total, only 22 episodes, about the same number as a full-season order of an old-fashioned network sitcom like 30 Rock, to which Meredith Scardino’s series is deeply indebted (Scardino wrote on 30 Rock; Tina Fey is a Girls5Eva executive producer). Over a three-year period? This is simply not enough!
Sitcoms are built for mass production and consumption, with dynamics between characters designed to generate an endless stream of story lines, and it can take a season or two to fully gel. Girls5Eva is lucky enough to have a distinct sensibility and a strong cast from the start, but it hasn’t had the space to work through all the possible material. There’s so much to mine in flashbacks to the girl group’s checkered early-aughts past, in Wickie’s failed solo career, in Summer’s wackadoo Christian upbringing, in Gloria’s fraught lesbian drama, and in Dawn’s attempts to find her own way as a songwriter (plus the larger meta arc of Sara Bareilles coming into her own as a comedic actor). Season three, in which the crew goes on tour around the country, tries to cover so much ground it’s like a distance runner sprinting at her vO2 max. The overarching plot — they want to perform at Radio City Music Hall — encroaches on all the fun along the way, rushing past a guest appearance from Cat Cohen, the reveal of Wickie’s real backstory, and an intricate Harry Styles parody. Sitcoms should be about all the fun everyone is having along the way, and we’ve lost that.
But there is another and perhaps more important reason that we need longer seasons of Girls5Eva: holidays. Network sitcoms, airing on a traditional schedule, have the opportunity to set episodes around the holidays near which they would air; think of the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends, The Office’s Christmas episodes, 30 Rock’s impeccable use of Leap Day. In my ideal universe where Girls5Eva has 22-episode seasons, Netflix would also abandon the binge strategy and air those episodes weekly, but that’s not a necessity. You could still drop them all at once, which gives me the opportunity to revisit the holiday episodes as those holidays occur throughout the year. If you need convincing, here are my suggestions for some holidays the Girls5Eva might celebrate:
Christmas (duh): Dawn tries to write a Christmas song; Wickie reveals a longstanding feud with Mariah Carey (she claims one of the items from her riff rolodex appears in “All I Want for Christmas Is You”; Mariah does not know her).
Thanksgiving: The girls try to book a gig at the Macy’s Parade (as Peacock actually had the stars do, to the confusion of my parents watching at home) while also atoning for their past sins at the event (revealed in flashback).
Valentine’s Day: Gloria revisits a past relationship with Taylor Lautner (she was his dentist).
Tax season: Summer reveals she hasn’t been paying taxes for years (thought you were covered if you already paid your church).
Presidents’ Day: Dawn tries to write a song about Lincoln being sexy, inadvertently offends a gay activist group.
Pride month: Return of Bowen Yang’s lip-sync influencer.
Cuffing season: Big for Gloria.
The Feast of San Gennaro: Big for Dawn (why is the show so all-in on Sara Bareilles being Italian??).
V-E Day: Wickie and Dawn’s husband, Scott, discover their mutual fascination with the Eastern Front: “I spent a lot of time touring post-Soviet states, okay!”
Casimir Pulaski Day: Gloria has beef with Sufjan Stevens.

AMC Lincoln Square (1998 Broadway). Introduction by Academy Award-nominated, Emmy-winning director Julie Cohen.]
Summary of the film:
"Every Body is a revelatory investigation of the lives of intersex people. The film tells the stories of three individuals who have moved from childhoods marked by shame, secrecy, and non-consensual surgeries to thriving adulthoods after each decided to set aside medical advice to keep their bodies a secret and instead came out as their authentic selves. Actor and screenwriter River Gallo (they/them), political consultant Alicia Roth Weigel (she/they), and Ph.D. student Sean Saifa Wall (he/him) are now leaders in a fast-growing global movement advocating for greater understanding of the intersex community and an end to unnecessary surgeries. Woven into the story is a stranger-than-fiction case of medical abuse, featuring exclusive footage from the NBC News archives, which helps explain the modern-day treatment of intersex people."
I just got back from watching an early screening of this film and it was beautiful, powerful, and meaningful in ways I did not expect! Met so many intersex people in my city and it was just really really, incredible.
Really recommend watching this film for any intersex people. This is the link to rsvp to the free screenings.
The film will also be available in theaters on June 30th.
So, so excited about this!

THE BEST WRITTEN SONGS OF ALL-TIME
Because I have zero innate musical ability, the idea that someone can sit down with a musical instrument, and create an original song out of thin air is magic to me. Songwriting is a craft, but it’s inspiration that makes a good song into a great one. There are songwriters who seem able to turn out high quality songs in perpetuity. There are others who write maybe one or two great songs, and are never heard from again. So, I made a list of what I think are the 50 best written songs I’ve ever heard. These are in no particular order. I’ve listed the title followed by the songwriter or songwriters, and in parentheses is the performer I most enjoy hearing do the song – although most of these songs have been recorded countless times by a variety of artists. You can probably find all of these on YouTube or any of the streaming services. Most have lyrics, but some do not. But, it’s hard for me to imagine any of these songs being recorded by anyone with talent, and not retaining the brilliance with which the song was written.
Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy (Eugene Ormandy & The Philadelphia Orchestra)
Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin (Zubin Mehta & The New York Philharmonic, Gary Graffman, piano)

Wood Engraving Wednesday
This week we present a few wood engravings by American printer, publisher, and wood engraver Michael McCurdy (1942-2016) illustrating American poet X. J. Kennedy's ten-stanza poem Celebrations after the Death of John Brennan, printed in 1974 in an edition of 325 copies signed by the artist and poet at McCurdy's own Penmaen Press in Lincoln, Massachusetts.
McCurdy founded Penmaen Press in Boston in 1968 and continued to print at the press in Lincoln and finally in Great Barrington, Massachusetts before closing the press in 1985. When he died at the age of 74, his longtime literary agent, Susan Cohen of Writers House, remembered him this way: "His art has a true sense of grandeur. . . . Michael had a quiet charisma: very handsome and soft-spoken. A true Old School gentleman. An artist and craftsman who did seem to answer to a higher calling.”
