India is likely to face a blistering summer after recording its hottest February since 1901, its weather department has said. Average maximum temperature was 29.5C in February, the highest since India started keeping proper weather records. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast "enhanced probability" of heatwaves between March and May. Prolonged heat could affect wheat production and push up power demand. Last year, India was forced to ban wheat exports after unseasonably hot weather affected the crop, sending local prices soaring. India is the world's second biggest wheat producer. The unusually high temperatures had also triggered a spike in power demand last year, leading to outages in many states. This year too, demand for electricity has already reached near-record levels in recent weeks, Bloomberg reported. India saw a 55% rise in deaths due to extreme heat between 2000-2004 and 2017-2021, according to a study published last year in the medical journal, The Lancet.

So when I was tuning the violins today. Well it was the first time I'd done anything with them in a while. And tbh I should've loosened the strings before leaving them for so long, but I hadn't thought of it.

So I tuned up my main violin. It's always been easy to tune & keeps in tune near perfectly when it's played regularly. So it went by quickly, except... when I'm tuning, I like to check the harmonic notes when cross-checking strings, and for whatever reason, the G string's harmonic was like half a note flat. The string itself was in tune tho, which was weird. So I went to adjust the bridge a little bit, just in case that might help, and then the G string fucking SNAPPED!!!

Good for me tho I've always kept spares in my case. I had 2 of each string, so I just went and put in the new one. First time stringing a violin in years and years, but it went perfectly fine!!

Back and better than ever!

Then I went to tune my electric violin, and it took me literally 10 minutes bc the pegs DID NOT want to turn. I had to literally grab a blanket to pad my fingers as I put my whole self into that shit. It hurt !!!!! But I got it eventually lol. My main violin is definitely the best one for playing out of the bunch.

Go out to their coop and they’re out in the fully fucking enclosed pen with bloody faces and there are feathers everywhere. Camilla’s head hit the ground as she was yanked out of her cell. Her hands were too busy clutching at the leather pouch around her neck, tucking the last bone inside and cinching it shut to be able to catch herself. A boot jabbed her in the stomach and she grunted.

“She’s not doing anything; she doesn’t even have aptitude!” Corona’s voice.

“Shut your mouth and stay out of it. She’s got bones in there. Who knows what kind of shit she’s getting up to!”

Camilla clutched at the bones, at his bones, at him, harder. She wound her fingers into the cord around her neck and squeezed her eyes shut, curled in around herself and her necromancer. She was kicked again in her already broken ribs and she couldn’t help but cry out.

“Give us the fucking bones!”

Camilla didn’t answer, only tightened further into a ball.

“Careful!” shouted a new voice. “Stay back!”

Camilla didn’t relax. She felt the shapes of him through the material of the bag. She counted them against her fingertips even though she couldn’t discern which ones she’d already counted. One, two, three, four, five…

The shock hit her unexpectedly. Her muscles seized against her will, sharp electric pain through every nerve of her body. Her logical mind knew it was brief; the animal instinct in the base of her skull screamed that she was dying.

When the shock let up, she gasped against the floor. Voices ran together.

“Give us the bones!”

“Stop! I told you she can’t do anything with–” A slap, a pained grunt.

“Drop them on the ground and move away or we shock you again!”

Camilla did not speak. She twisted the cord more firmly around her finger. It was cutting off circulation to her fingertip. They would not take him while she lived.

The second shock was longer than the first, and she nearly lost consciousness; or perhaps she briefly did, floating somewhere above the BoE operatives and the Princess. She heard him whispering again in the back of her consciousness, Cam, you’re being so strong for me, and she longed to sink into that space. But she clung to the bag, to the physical plane. If she lost him here she would lose him everywhere.

When it let up, she heard a high pitched wheeze in the gasps she was making.

“---going to kill her!”

“If they aren’t a threat why the fuck won’t she let them go, huh?”

The third shock came without any attempt to reason with her. The pain she could take. It wasn’t until she felt her fingers involuntarily releasing their grip on the bag that she fought against it, tried to throw it off. She couldn’t do it; she couldn’t think. She’d failed him again; she was losing him.

Everything went black.
