Chapter 12,part 2/5

Hello everyone. So the whole posting every other day, is just becoming to much for my new class schedule. So instead, I’ll now be posting every Tuesdays and Saturday’s. Anyway, this chapter is going to be a sad one for both Eda and Luz, but it does have a happy ending.

Eda tries to influence Luz to her position, saying to Luz that the party will be boring. Luz’s attention is on a stained glass window, a stained glass window of a princess.

Luz’s life was anything but easy. Even before her father passed away and money got tough she’d never fit in with her village, and she felt like outsider weirdo. So she’d often drift off to fantasy life, where she was a beautiful princess that everyone loved and adored, not the orphan weirdo who everyone was afraid of. Now she has the chance to finally live it, so why shouldn’t she take the opportunity?

Luz makes up her mind, she swims to Lilith and writes that “I’ve always wanted to go to a royal ball, can I come with you?” Eda is surprisingly angry by this. She yells at Luz, and tries to stop her from coming with Lilith. This really annoys Luz. Eda has always viewed Luz as a child, someone who needs to be constantly taken care of. But she wasn’t that little mute mermaid that needed help just to swim, she had grown up quite a lot, and it's time for Eda to accept it.

Luz writes, “Eda, I’m not a child, I can make her own choices. Can you stop treating me like one.” Eda looks…surprisingly hurt by Luz actions, watching Luz turn away from her as Luz swims with Lilith. Suddenly, Luz is overcome with guilt, and wonders if she made the right choice.

Cut to a few minutes later, where Lilith is gushing about how excited she is to take Luz to the museum. Lilith notices that Luz doesn’t seem to share the same excitement. Luz asks Lilith if she hurt Eda’s feelings, and that she kinda feels bad. Lilith tells Luz that Eda always was grumpy about royal duties, always whining and complaining about them. Eda never found the value in royalty, but Luz is her own woman, and she is allowed to make her choices. Luz does feel a little better by Liilth’s statement, and says that “maybe you’re right.” Lilith says that of course she is, and sets Luz on a mirror and vanity.

Lilith then grabs a hairbrush, and is ready to make Luz the pretty princess she’s always dreamed of…or at least that’s what Luz thinks.
