boo. tell me about your ocs
oh dear this is going to take a while.
honestly im pretty tired right now so i might not go as into detail as i might normal but heres the gist of it
5 teenagers get trapped in a time loop mystery trying to figure out who trapped them in a time loop while being hunted down by a cult, the US government, and a varied collection of eldritch gods
to be more specific basicaly the five are trapped in a timeloop and loose most of their memoreis between loops, only really remembering their relationship with the people around them, though each have a special ability allowing them to remember one thing
the characters are:
(heres an old lineup i made of them for reference) (need to remake this at some point)
in order we have
Amelia Augur: genderfluid lesbian artist with an interest in the supernatural and a pet raven named Ray who keeps all memories throughout loops but struggles to communicate anything due to being a bird
Jane Hare: lesbian transfem writer in an abusive relationship with an eldritch mirror god who wakes up with a lymeric every morning crypticly outlining what happened the loop before
Ida Vidya: pansexual aromantic journalist who is obsessed with knowing everything even if it kills her (and it has killed her, many, many, many, many times) who has a camera that keeps 10 pictures over to the next loop
Jack Edmund-Kang: bisexual former jock son of the Mayor with self hatred issues, a dead mother, and a dad he wishes was dead, who has the ability to keep all physical changes to his body between loops, meaning he can grow muscle and learn muscle memory, but also keeps so so so so so many scars. also he can remember all the blood hes seen in any loop
Blake Payne: gay emo transmasc drummer with mommy issues and a knife, who can remember things based off of sound
Special Agent Booker, CIA: a secret agent sent to figure out what is going on in this one town and is given all the government resources and manpower she needs, only to immediately become worsties with a furry
Mayor Kang: jacks father, the mayor of the town, and also a secret cult leader who has lived for hundreds of years protecting an ancient magical artifact called the Pentagramic Pocketwatch that he was planning on using to revive his dead wife, only for it to get stolen and used to trap everybody in a time loop, and him assuming that his son had stolen it and trying to kill him
The Day: Minor god of days who dies every night and is born every day, who was the actual one who stole the Pentagramic Pocketwatch to try and escape having to die over and over agian, though thats not revealed until pretty late in the story
The Mask: Minor god of manipulation who dresses like a furry and manages to immediatly become enemies with the first two women dressed in blue it can find. its by far one of the physicaly weakest characters, but is just really smart and good at outmanuvering everyone so that it can get its hands on the Pentagramic Pocketwatch
The Beast: Minor god of hunting wants to steal the watch for itself and has toxic old man yaoi with the mayor
The Reflection: Minor god of mirrors who is by far the worst person i have ever created.
basicaly the plot is split up into 5 arcs of
the main five find themselves in a time loop oh no
they find out that actualy theres some other weird stuff going on in town
oh shit magic and gods and shit is real?
hey i wonder who actualy stole the pocketwatch if it wasnt us
hey the day has the pocketwatch lets get our hands on it before any of the other people manage to get their hands on it
anyways if you want more clarification you can ask me for specific details later, otherwise heres a link to a different post where i explain everything far more in depth

Meet Aether Beyond the Binary Contributors Em Rowntree and Kelas Lloyd
Today, we spotlight two more of the creators contributing to our current crowdfunding project Aether Beyond the Binary(a collection of 17 aetherpunk settings starring characters outside the gender binary): Em Rowntree and Kelas Lloyd!
Cadillac’s Bus by Em Rowntree
About Em: Em Rowntree’s first foray into the world of writing was with a story called The Magic Land that featured a unicorn and a flying carpet the size of a country, and they’ve been chasing that high ever since. They’ve been sharing their writing online for almost nine years, and have had poems and short stories published in anthologies. They live in the UK.
Links: Twitter
This is Em’s second contribution to a Duck Prints Press anthology; they also wrote a story for Add Magic to Taste.
Title: Cadillac’s Bus
Tags: pending
Excerpt:
From their vantage point, the kid couldn’t see the rally racer inside. Couldn’t see the black gloves with one white star of pure aetherlight painted on each fingertip. Couldn’t see the curled mess of long grey hair. Couldn’t see the steely, hungry, fiercely joyful look on their face as their vehicle plunged on through the moorland. But the kid could picture it all, down to the last detail.
They put their hands in the air.
“CADILLAC JONES!” they yelled, loud enough for the cow to hear them a few hundred yards away and lift its head – but nowhere near loud enough for Cadillac Jones themself to know their name was being screamed as they disappeared out of sight, away down the track. “CADILLAC JONES FOREVER! YES! THE BEST –” The kid turned to left and right as though looking for someone to tell, but there was no one beside them. “THE BEST! CADILLAC JONES FOREVER! YES!”
They stood, overwhelmed, keeping the moment alive as long as they could. A few minutes after the rally racer had turned the next corner and gone out of sight, another vehicle came hurtling round the bend after them. The kid lifted their arms again – and this time turned their open hands into raised middle fingers.
“YOU SUCK!” they screamed in delight, a smile of joy splitting their face.
True by Kelas Lloyd
About Kelas: Kelas is a disabled, trans, bi author and artist currently (unfortunately) living in Texas. They graduated from the University of Central Florida with an English degree and love cats, tea, and all things speculative fiction. A lot of their writing features magic or disability or both, and they’re often found in Star Trek, Mass Effect, Babylon 5, and Untamed spaces. You can also find them in a lot of bead and resin spaces, because they love making sparkly jewelry of all sorts.
Previously published pieces include an article on disability in The Last Of Us, short stories in two publications by Shacklebound Books, a pair of poems about being trans, an essay on disabled life, and a whole bunch of pieces about San Diego Comic-con. They’re single, an Ernie looking for their Bert, but they have a found family that stretches around the globe and some of their birth family accepts them for who they are.

Excerpt:
“Oh,” Eva says, trying to recover. “Yeah, okay. So what’s the procedure? Are you gathering up all the ducklings and then herding us over?”
Paul looks at them as if they can see through the joking tone Eva’s adopted. “You’ve got a map in your booklet. I’m here, so I introduced myself, but there’s a schedule in there too. Everyone here is old enough to herd themselves; I’m here for support.”
“So you catch us in the trust-fall exercises,” Eva says, opening up the booklet to find the map and schedule.
“No, I make sure to drop everyone during those.”
Eva’s gaze snaps up to catch Paul’s grin just before it turns into a faint smile.
“You’re here because you’re struggling with aether,” Paul continues. “Most of the time a teen is struggling, it’s because they don’t know themselves well enough yet to let it flow through them the way as it’s supposed to. That’s what I help with.”

Vagabonds
Continuing Series: HUNTER X READER/FEM OC
************************************************************************
Word Count: 5K
ᴛʜɪꜱ ꜰɪᴄ ᴄᴏɴᴛᴀɪɴꜱ ɴꜱꜰᴡ ᴄᴏɴᴛᴇɴᴛ. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ɴᴏᴛ 18+ ᴅɴɪ.
BACKGROUND: The following story takes place in the Bad Batch Star Wars Universe, and I tried to keep within the timeline of Season 1-2 before the Batch Left Ord Mantell for Mount Tantiss. The OC characters of my invention are Maadienne “Mad Momma” Dax and her genderfluid Teen named Love. Mad is an older single mom.
Mad and Love also are coded as belonging to something similar to the American Nomad population in the US. Think Nomadland, off-griders, bikers, Slab City transients, hobos, tramps, hippies, punks, carnies, faire circuit vendors, survivalists, societal dropouts, etc. And they intersect with other nomadic groups coded as similar to the Roma (Romani), Travelers/Tinkers (Irish), Romanichal (British/UK). All of these people in this story universe refer to themselves as "The Star People".
WARNINGS: Shades of neurodivergence, mention of deep sorrow/depression/hurt/lost love/relationship breakups/estranged parents/heavy mental baggage/ugly crying. There are hints of the beginning stages of fascism and xenophobia. Some mention of erections, arousal, sexual/sensual feelings, flirting. Lots of swearing (Star Wars swears mixed with Earth swears). Fictional prejudicial slurs. Poverty, class struggle, slavery, war, child abduction, politics, very amorphous mention of genocide, animal cruelty living conditions (brief), animal death (postmortem) and both of these are redeemed.
I personally like to include links to music selected specifically for certain sections of this fic to get you in the mood/headspace: I understand not everyone reads at the same rate, so if the music chosen for that section is not long enough, put it on repeat. If too long, finish listening to that piece of music before reading on. If you don’t like it, then use your own mood music or none at all. If the links don't work, you can open a separate browser, copy link, paste, play the music and read the fic.
Enjoy! Hope you are entertained. Please leave feedback in the comments, and PLEASE REBLOG! Thanks.
FYI-We WILL get to Hunter! But first I need to introduce my OC's!!!

Introduction: Chaos on Coruscant
“Metamorphosis” by Delerium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1mikt5NPg
The outer streets of Coruscant started to show their seediness and poverty the longer Mad and Love walked away from the bustling city center. They had just picked up a considerable payment of credits after dropping off two young orphans to a well-heeled couple living within the upscale high rises of the capital. They had the help of clearances, chain codes and disguises. Both wearing a bland headscarf veil and shift dress over their clothes and skin tattoos. Mad’s face was uncovered and Love’s full coverage. To anyone who passed on the street, they were two household nannies taking care of their rich owners' children.
The orphans, Edda and Oddo, were refugees from a distant Outer Rim planet that the Empire had newly “colonized” for resources. The people of that planet fought and lost control of their sovereignty. Many lives were lost in the battle. So many refugees and newly orphaned children were begging to flee the planet to avoid becoming slaves of the Empire. Mad and Love saw an opportunity to take whomever they could away from that situation and bring them here to a better life. They hated the Empire. Before that The Republic. Before that...whatever governing forces that had killed, enslaved, or pushed their people out among the stars. Homeless Nomaadi that nobody wanted. Dirty marked “Caitiff” scum. Now the Empire was doing this to other “outsiders” all over the galaxy.
When Mad and Love dropped off the children, the stipulation was it had to be at the back servant's entrance. The couple wouldn’t let it be any other way. Even though Mads contacts were secure, and this job was very low on the risk scale, there was no room for compromise. The couple didn’t come out expressly and say anything prejudicial about Nomaadi delivering the children. But it was heavily implied through the thin veneer of niceness as they opened the door to welcome the children. Mad and Love were instructed to wait at the threshold, to hug Edda and Oddo and say a hurried goodbye. The siblings protested tearfully, but gave in. Mad caught a fleeting look at the large opulent apartment, meeting the eyes of the servant at attention on the other side of the room. The husband, giving them a brusque “thank you” while handing over the bag of credits, shut the door in their faces. Standing in the servant’s hallway, Mad and Love looked at each other in sad silence. The siblings had travelled with them on the Beldame several weeks before. Bonded with them. The children didn’t care who Mad and Love were. They were so grateful to be safe and have someone in their life that cared.
The credits helped smooth the sting...a little. The encounter was so jarring and surreal, but par for the course. Mad and Love couldn’t eat or survive without steady revenue coming in. The couple who paid for the lives of these children paid handsomely. To them it was just a drop in the bucket, easing their guilty conscience. Taking in homeless orphans as their own children...while not using any of their privilege to stand against the Empire seemed like a glaring example of blind privilege. Love was neutral on the subject, looking at the glass as half full. The children have good homes now. Mad saw the glass as leaky with a huge crack in it. The damned thing didn’t work well and was fundamentally broken.
************************************************************************
Their ship, the Dread Beldame, was parked on the outskirts of the capital city to keep a low profile. That meant a lot of walking, but it kept the Coruscant Police off their backs. Getting the hell off the planet relatively undetected was the goal now.
The narrow streets led to a small public square complete with an open-air second-rate vendor market. Tourists visiting the Capital, locals, and Neuvo riche citizens of the city center visited these spots due to lower prices on goods. The awful smell of the exotic meat vendor wafted up into Mad and Love’s noses. The smell of a hundred naturally and genetically designed animals housed together in a small space.
Mad ignored the smell and kept a brisk pace. However, was surprised by a familiar voice and warm Nomaadi greeting.
“Auntie?”
Mad Stopping in her tracks and looked past the front counter into the shadows towards the back of the stall. A familiar face slowly stepped out. Mad thought she was looking at a ghost.
Nephew Sil, covered in dirt and slaughter offal, underweight and wearing a slave collar sadly smiled at her. She hadn’t seen him since he was a boy, when he was abducted from his family. Now Sil was a teen. The Nomaadi chest tattoo a clear identifier. Her experience was that many Nomaadi children were stolen. The authorities didn’t care to help the families to find them, so they were easy pickings by slavers and traffickers.
Love, totally unaware of Sil, followed the scent and was shocked by the scene at the meat vendor’s chopping block. A small live puppy was held aloft shrieking and scruffed by the butcher who was barking at any possible patrons in the crowd.
“Loth Wolf-Vornskr hybrid! Tender delicacy. Butchered fresh right here. Last one goes to the highest bidder!!!”
In his other hand was a very large meat cleaver.
Love was mortified to witness this. As their eyes looked past the puppy, cages upon cages of trapped animals came into view. Small wire cages stacked up high holding dirty tortured souls stuffed into small spaces. And beyond that, a bigger reinforced pen holding a large bellowing beast hiding in the shadows. The smell of animal shit, fear, blood, death, and pain hit Love in the gut and assaulted their senses. Patrons rushed forward with their money to bid on the last small life in the butcher’s hand. Love was knocked aside and bounced from one patron to the other before being shoved down onto the hard pavement. The obscene display of crude materialistic greed while being trampled was too much for Love. And concern for the pup brought anger out of them, vibrating the very air within the space.
Mad called out to Sil, “Come with us!”
“I can’t” and winced as he touched the shock collar. It was electronically locked, live and would not allow him to leave the market stand. Sil was the meat butcher's property and locked in, just like all the animals stuffed in the cages around them.
Mad unbuttoned the top of her blouse to reach for the credits stowed in the security pocket of her binder. The high neck fell open to reveal her own circular Nomaadi chest tattoo. She could attempt to buy Sil back from the Butcher and help locate his parents. The job’s payment would allow this luxury and still have enough for them to live on until the next job. Before Mad could pull out any credits, she could feel every hair on her body stand on end. Sil could feel it too. Mad knew exactly where it was coming from.
“Run” by Unsecret x Rayelle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fzw32l9NF6k
“LOVE! NOOO!!!”
Mad suddenly turned to see Love levitating 10 ft above Coruscant street. The patrons facing the butcher never saw what was coming, but he had a front row view. The butcher froze and his eyes went wide. Mad could feel the raw emotion and power pulse from Love’s body. They were gonna blow, and Mad couldn’t do a damned thing about it.
The puppy and the animals in the surrounding cages fell silent.
All. At. Once.
What happened next to Mads recollection was in slow motion. A silent Force scream emanated from Love’s mouth. It shorted out EVERYTHING within that city block. All the technology, transportation, everything...and the locks on all the cages within the meat stall. Everything was at a standstill for 5 seconds. Love still levitating above the street, the butcher standing in the same position, the vendors at a standstill.
Then things sped up.
And... THE SHIT HIT THE FAN!
The animals, sensing freedom, burst from their cages in a frenzied wild blur. Screams could be heard from patrons slowly realizing what was happening as animals escaped beneath their feet, swooped near their faces, leaped on or past them. Love still levitating as people and animals ran pell-mell through the square. Nobody cared to notice a skinny veil-shrouded teenager floating above them. The butcher let loose a litany of curse words and pointed the meat cleaver in Love’s direction...while still holding onto the puppy.
Love reached out with the Force and snatched the puppy from the Butcher’s grasp. He turned 3 shades of red and chucked the meat cleaver at Love. They cradled the puppy and force deflected the cleaver. It fell ineffectually against the pavement below. Love was still levitating at 10ft and giving a calm intense death stare to the Butcher. He foamed at the mouth in a rage, stooped down and yanked a laser rifle out from under the counter, swinging it around to aim right between Love’s eyes.
Love, unfazed, didn’t move from his aim. Mad almost shit her pants in fear. It was all too much. They were going to get caught, and Love’s luck was going to run out. Today was the day she would see her offspring's brains all over the streets of Coruscant.
The Butcher pulled the trigger...which did absolutely nothing as Love’s scream had shorted out his weapon. He was thwarted once again from dispatching this teenage menace, and absolutely lost his composure, chucking the weapon at Love.
They calmly Force pushed the weapon aside, keeping the death stare. Having nothing left to assault Love with, the Butcher leapt onto the counter and launched himself up towards them...
...and was immediately taken out by the large animal held captive in the shadows of the meat vendor’s stall. There was an explosion of metal, wood, and small animals...that hadn’t escaped from the first rush to freedom. The Behemoth ran past Love and caused total mayhem to the remaining people in the square. More blood curdling screams mixed with angry animal cries.
Love calmly turned on a dime and floated airily away from the scene, pulling off the veil and gracefully dropping it to the ground below. Their Nomaadi tattoo in full rebellious glory to all of Coruscant. Love’s facial expression calm as ever, still cradling the puppy.
It was a total sight to behold. Mad was beside herself watching Love float away from the scene. And then yanked almost off her feet as Nephew Sil ran past and grabbed her hand. He ripped the now inactive slave collar from his neck and threw it aside. Behind them a cab and several speeder bikes fell from the sky and exploded on the pavement, they had shorted out as well.
“We gotta go, go, go! Run Auntie Mad!!! Where’s the ship???” Running high on adrenaline he dragged Mad out of the square into the narrow streets for cover. They tripped over scurrying marmots. And, Mad had to pull a small, flighted escapee from her hair as they tried to catch up to Love.
“Love, come down outtya head! Or we are gonna lose ours!!!” Sil let go of Mad and ran ahead. He took a huge running leap and yanked on Love’s leg, pulling them out of levitation mode. It was like he was trying to catch a balloon. Love landed on two feet with a proud smile.
They signed “Hello” warmly and presented the puppy proudly.
“You CRAZY!” Syl shook his head “Causing big trouble.”
They were interrupted by a bedraggled Spice Head grabbing both teens by the back of their shirts. “Catiff scum! You should be worth some credits!!!”
Mad had enough of everything that had gone to total shit today. Anger welling up, she would have shot him on the spot had her blaster not shorted out. Instead, she ran full tilt into the assailant, knocking him to the ground. From there, proceeded to grab handfuls of hair and repeatedly pound his head into the pavement accentuating each screaming curse:
“KEEP. YOUR. HANDS. OFF. MY. KIDS. YOU. KRIFFING. BANTHA. FUCKER!!!
He started bleeding, lost consciousness, and stopped moving. He was still breathing, though. That was a plus. Mad’s view cleared and could feel Sil and Love pulling her off the man.
“Mommommom!” Loves voice echoing inside Mad’s head.
“Auntie, stop! Please get up!!!” Sil’s voice outside her head.
Looking up, more Spice Heads were watching the scene unfold, shrinking back into the shadows. Fear on their faces.
“See this? Keep your hands off us and your mouths shut! We were never here!!!”
Mad gathered herself, stood up and firmly barked, “Get your asses in gear, the Dame’s this way!” Sil and Love, clearly shaken, followed behind.
She gave murderous glances to the onlookers, who cowered as Mad, Sil, and Love passed. One threw the Eye of Protection sign, showing the fear Outsiders had of The Bad Fate believed (wrongly) spread by the Nomaadi. Mad sometimes wished she could really curse these people to silence so her family could escape safely. Every excursion was dangerous to her people. Snitches were a constant hazard.
From there, they ran several blocks to the outer port where the ship sat waiting.
The Beldame with its mismatched junky exterior looked so welcoming. The sensors picked up Mad and Love’s proximity and opened the gangplank. All three ran in and found their seats. The Dame automatically closed its gangplank and Mad got them out of there quickly. Two local precinct police speeders appeared in hot pursuit firing handheld blasters at the ship. The speeders could only follow so far before falling behind...but not before shorting out the Dame’s antiquated deflector shield.
While the Dame exited Coruscant’s planetary atmosphere, Mad brought up the coordinates for Ord Mantell, scrambled their jump signature, and punched the ship into hyperspace.

“Even If It Hurts” by Sam Tinnesz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyxKrN48R2g
You could cut the silence inside the ship with a vibroknife. Both teens unsure if Mad was still...MAD.
Both were seated behind her. The light of stars coursing past casting shadows down Mads back. It was an uncomfortable 15 minutes before she swung the chair around and met Love with an intensely serious stare. Only Love heard Mad’s voice in their head.
“Dank Ferrick, Love...what the hell was that back there!”
Sil sat watching a silently animated display of physical movements while both Love and Mad argued back and forth inside their heads at each other. It was like watching manic mime comedy. He knew they both could communicate like this. Just never seen an argument between the two since he disappeared years ago. He could only guess what the row was about.
“I couldn’t help it. Everything about that place was so horrible. All those animals living and dying like that. The people trampling me. And... I miss Edda and Oddo. I’m sad we let them go.”
“We needed the money. We were broke, Love. Can’t keep everyone we ferry across the galaxy. What you did in the town square...it was over the top. You blew our cover. Our contacts that we worked so hard for won’t help us now. We will NEVER be able to go back to Coruscant again!”
“Good, that place is fucking POODOO!!!”
“But we had allies there, Love. Without allies we can’t do any business there. We just lost a good steady income. The Outer Rim only pays us enough to scrape by. And now we might have eyes actively looking for us! You don’t really understand how dangerous everything is now for us...YOU...especially since the Jedi were murdered, do you???”
Silence. Surprised face.
“DO YOU??? We already have shit rain down on us normally. Things are getting worse out there with the new Empire.”
Silence. Angry face.
“And what the hell was that...thing you did? It shorted everything out! That’s new, Love. You need to control whatever the hell that is. What did you do?”
Silence. Offended face.
Mad sighed. “I’m sorry I upset you. I’m sorry I yelled. It scared me. The thought of losing you scares me. I love you”.
Silence. Neutral face.
“Ok...” Exasperated sigh. “I... We’ll talk later. “
More silence. Still neutral faced, Love starts to levitate and zone out. Swaddles the puppy tighter.
Mad knows she overreacted again. The rebellious Love was something she wasn’t prepared for. No idea on how to control these powerful urges. A Jedi might be able to help if there were any left. But then, the Jedi were problematic and antiquated. Had they not been, Love would have been a Padawan long ago...and probably deceased now. With a heavy, tired sigh Mad turns finally to address Sil.
“I missed you so much Nephew. I’m sorry for the drama.”
Sil immediately got up and hugged Mad. She grabbed him in embrace and squeezed hard.
“It’s been so long. Your parents will be happy to know you're safe.”
Sil was quiet. Then Mad heard soft sobbing and felt his body shake. She kept quiet and just held on until he wanted to be let go. Love, dropping their angst, floated over and placed a hand onto his back and slowly rubbed in circles.
He eventually let go and stood up. Both Mad and Love spoke at the same time: Mad verbally and Love signing in Basic, “In your own time. I’ll be here. I love you.”
Sil wiped his eyes. “I’m hungry, Auntie”. He was so thin. Clearly, he was underfed while gone. Probably starved to be kept in line, in addition to the shocks he received. An outline of rough scar tissue from the slave collar worn into his neck stood out. It was a very sobering thing for both Love and Mad to consider.
“Let’s see what we can rustle up, huh?” Mad got up and made a beeline for the ‘Dame’s tiny galley kitchen.
“I missed you too Couz.” Love signed. “Can you hold Tiggy for me while I help mom?”
Sil nodded and took the puppy from Love. “Hello, Tigglet” he whispered while settling into the pilot’s chair to watch the stars and occasional Purrgil float past.

Thanks for your patience. Hunter makes his entrance in this chapter!
Chapter 1-The Weight of the Galaxy
“Trouble” by Valerie Broussard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6D-1xOEns0
Back at Ord Mantell, Mad knocked back the Spotchka to steady her nerves. While leaning on the bar of Cid’s Parlor with head in hand, she contemplated the huge clusterfuck event that transpired on Coruscant.
They. Were. So. Fucking. Lucky. Especially finding Sil like that and getting him freed. Being able to keep all the credits from their last job without having to haggle for his freedom. The animals and exploding vehicles provided diversion. The Butcher was being scraped off the concrete, so he wasn’t talking. The Spice Heads might present a problem...if anyone cared to listen to a bunch of Tweakers. The only reason they were pursued and lacked a shield was due to the Coruscant Police suspecting those running away from the scene and fleeing the planet were to blame for the crime of...property damage.
The authorities and media didn’t give a Womp Rats ass about the dead butcher, his sketchy meat market front, or the slaves he ran through it. They feigned some concern about the injured citizens of the downed vehicles and those maimed by the market escapees. The News Holos were calling the incident “eco terrorism” by a small band of indigents who set the animals free. Fortunately, a well-known Enviro Group stepped up and claimed responsibility, inspiring its many supporters to clog the streets around the Capitol building in open protest. The Butchers Trade Org, Pro Meat Groups and rando hooligans looking to profit and cause havoc clashed against them. This brought out the Coruscant Guard to try to bring order to the chaos. The upper crust of Coruscant railed against the inconvenience to their day and clutched their pearls. Total mayhem and a convenient smokescreen.
This kind of luck is what Nomaadi Maami Dall would call “A Gift from The Force”.
“But make NO mistake, the Force is Fickle. It won’t last for long. Get out of yer own head, or it will be your end!” Could hear her Elder preach the message like she was sitting right next to Mad at the bar. She sorely missed Maami Dall...and Paapi Dall, Brothers, Sisters, Aunties, Uncles, Couzins, Friends of The Nomaadi Star People. The whole Community. It had been so long since they could all safely come together for Reunion. Fond memories of feasts, Hand Fastings, Parting Ceremonies, musicians in drum circles around large bonfires, people singing and dancing all night, helping to repair transports during the day and restore supplies for travel, children playing, community coming together to share news, information, trade, settling disputes, healing family rifts, making love, birthing babies, and just safely relaxing from the nomadic lifestyle for a while.
Oh Maker...the nostalgia HURT. Being transient was The Way. Everyone had a different journey. Paths diverging, converging constantly. Nomaadi were encouraged to leave, live their own truth, and be independent. Plus, their survival depended on it. Too many of them in the same place for a long period of time made the community sitting ducks. This is why they would occasionally meet for Reunion by word of mouth and never permanently settled anywhere.
Mads' thoughts shifted back to their luck...this time. How long before it ran out? Love started as a quiet introspective child. Their use of the Force started early. It always manifested itself as gentle, non-threatening, defensive and never offensive.
Mad also deeply regretted the show of temper. She really hoped to not permanently injure or kill the Spice Head. He was stupidly dangerous and a victim of a fucked-up system that kept so many down on Coruscant. Hell, the universe. All the people on the bottom fighting for the scraps that the powerful occasionally threw at them. She sighed...when was it ever going to kriffing change?
Mad’s only plan for tonight was ordering several more drinks to help forget the rising worry in her mind: After the wholesale slaughter of the Jedi and those showing Force abilities, how was she going to keep her powerful and now rebellious child safe?
************************************************************************
“Boilermaker” by Royal Blood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoDNFsQGDjE
At the other end of the bar slumped Hunter, attempting to drink himself into oblivion. He was at the start of his journey tonight several drinks in.
His brothers and sister were back at the Marauder. Tech and Echo had mechanical Maintenace to do. Wrecker planned to take Omega for Mantell Mix and browse the Traders Market. Hunter didn’t feel any of it, except guilty for turning Omega down when she begged him to come along. He couldn’t get the vision of Crosshair out of his head, standing alone on the platform of Kamino as they left the planet. Oh, and he felt guilty for that too. Sad as well, and some frustration that his brother wasn’t touched by the plea of brotherhood offered by most of The Batch. He very briefly considered having Wrecker drag Cross back inside the ship, refusing to leave without him, or stunning the sniper to do so. It would have not changed Crosshairs mind in the long run. Stubborn brainwashed sibling. Hunter still loved him.
All the while the remains of his home...no, his family’s home lay in the Kaminoan sea smoldering. The remains of which The Batch narrowly escaped from. Almost resigned to a watery grave. What happened to all the future unborn and young clones he had seen at the facility the day the Empire took power? Were they safe? Even alive? All The Regs brainwashed by the chip. All the Jedi murdered by them. Did Caleb Dume ever make it to safety? If so, was he scarred for life after seeing his master gunned down on Kaller, then having the Clones turn on him too? It was all too much. He felt small and overwhelmingly powerless. Like absolute miserable shit. The only thing he could do was drown his emotions in whatever Cid’s bar was serving.
***********************************************************************
Sometime later, after draining his glass, Hunter’s senses tingled. Sitting up and rubbing his face, he caught a scent. His nose found the source down the opposite end of the bar. Hunter had been so inside his own head, entirely missing someone in the near empty establishment. Surprising because she was also giving off vibes of deep emotional angst.
Hunter was met with the view of a woman sporting an unruly silver mohawk containing a streak of black hair trailing down the long sideswept bangs and a tail of hair down her back and a heavily tattooed upper torso. She looked and smelled intriguing. Currently, she was staring intently into her empty glass.
“Hey”, Hunter addressed Cid and nodded down the bar, “Who's she?”
The Trandoshan rolled her eyes, “Why? Ya looking for a world of hurt, Bandana? “Cause that’s all you’re gonna get with that one.”
“No seriously, what’s her name?”
“She comes here to drink alone. The last idiot who didn’t respect her space left a permanent stain on my carpeting. That Momma has zero patience for Bantha shit”
“Momma???”
“Yeah, she’s got a kid. The dad split. Just the two of them now. And she’s protective of her kiddo. They’re ‘Nomaadi”, so they tend to keep to themselves.”
“Nomaadi?”
Cid sighed and rolled her eyes again gesturing wildly, “Nomaadi! Travs! They wander the galaxy with no known homeworld. Come on, Bandana, you never heard of ‘em? Met ‘em??? Her people are scattered all over the place. You must have had to move them along while you were working for the Republic? The Republic considered Nomaadi trash, so they got pushed out. And they just keep on moving around the galaxy. This new Empire absolutely hates them.”
Hunter let that sink in while staring down the bar. Cid contemplated these two sad saps sitting at either end.
“She reminds me of someone I know. Got the weight of the whole galaxy on her shoulders.” Hunter’s gaze immediately snapped up to meet Cid’s eyes. She held his gaze for a long, uncomfortable moment hands on hips.
“Her name is Mad.” Cid finally answered as she turned and walked away.
Mad. Was her name Mad for angry or crazy? He couldn’t tell, but he wanted to find out. She was a welcome distraction from the things he wanted to stop thinking about tonight.
************************************************************************
Mad’s inner stream of consciousness was abruptly interrupted by Cid. “Find any amazing revelations in the bottom of that glass? You're here to drink, not meditate.”
Immediately she looked up to meet the bright green eyes of the Trandoshan. Cid’s first language usually was heavy sardonic sarcasm tinged with menace, but Mad saw a bit more in her demeanor. A tiny bit of empathy shining through...before the sarcasm blocked it out again.
“Dark and Broody at the end of the bar wants to buy ya a drink if you're interested.”
Cid pointed towards a very handsome man with a red bandanna and face tattoo staring up the bar at them. He raised his hand in a brief two finger wave and cheesy half smile. An attempt of levity with some drunken smolder.
Heavy sigh and groan from Mad. “No creepers, Cid. Remember last time?”
Cid leaned in against the bar. Her voice finding some softness, “He’s ok. Done some jobs for me. Got a kid of his own, no partner. Kinda lonely. You both look like you need a drink and time out of your own heads. Whaddya say?”
Another sigh from Mad. What did Mad really have to do tonight? The next job wasn’t until tomorrow afternoon. And Love was back at the Beldame with Sil fiddling with the shield generator. The puppy was probably tearing up and crapping all over the ship. Maker, what was she gonna come back to? Mad didn’t want to deal with any of it tonight. Luckly, Sil seemed somewhat responsible enough, and Love rarely if ever left the Beldame without Mad at their side. Both teens had dragged Mad down the gangplank in the direction of the bar. “Go have a drink!” they chimed in unison “We got this!” as they ran into the ship. Oblivious young'uns, dear Maker, now she had two...three with the four-legged pot roast they just “adopted.”
“Fuck it. You’re right. Can’t turn down free Spotchka.”
Cid winked and turned away to grab a glass. Mad straightened up, looked down the bar, and gave her best devil may care smirk. She then gracefully signed “thank you” in Basic Sign Language to Dark and Broody.
Cid plunked down the Spotchka. Mad tipped it back with abandon, enjoying the feel of the drink on her tongue. The pleasant burn. The warmth of it down the hatch...
“HELLO.”
Mad choked and spit the drink right onto Cid.
“Smooth move, Bandana”, disgusted and slightly pissed Cid retreats to wipe herself down. Dark and Broody had suddenly and stealthily materialized in the seat next to Mad.
The pleasant burn is now a fire in Mad’s nose and throat. Spotchka ran down her chin and onto the bar. “Are you trying to Kriffing kill me!” in between coughs. Anger rising. What the fuck, this guy! Dark and Broody looks embarrassed and concerned. She briefly considers punching him in the face.
“Hey Cowboy” by Devon Cole: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rORqh-tCKEY
“Sorry...I should have given you more warning” he replies while offering several napkins. Mad grabbed some from his hand holding them to her mouth.
Cough subsiding, nose still burning, Mad takes in the visage of Hunter: Head of amazing thick black hair, trim body, muscular, deep brown eyes that she could get lost in... She shakes her head and his smokey, sexy voice slides into her ears, “You ok? Anything I can do?”
Mad’s expression was ambiguous while trying to calm down. She sits staring intensely at Hunter. He noticed the depth of her eyes: flecks of yellow mingled with green. While her surface demeanor gave little away, Hunter’s senses pick up anger, confusion...and a slight glimmer of attraction. She looked like she might attack and eat him alive. The prospect seemed exciting. His eyes dropped and scrutinized her chest tattoo for the first time.
“My eyes are up here, Stud” she growls. He notices her noticing him looking at her chest and immediately becomes embarrassed. His expression shows it, as his eyes widen and immediately shoot back up to her face. “Just looking at your tattoo. Honest” he raises both hands in surrender.
“You always this smooth with the ladies?”
“Little off my game tonight. Can I try again?” Hunter gives Mad a sly smile.
Cid sidles back up to the bar, “Drinking only, no maiming...and NO sex in the bathroom. If ya wanna do that, then leave my bar!” Hands on her hips, looks across the room and suddenly shouts, “SHUT UP, YOU TWO, and mind yer own business!”
Bolo and Ketch stop laughing and solemnly return to their game of Djarik.
“Mad, I need Dark and Broody here in working condition for my next job. So go easy on him. He’s harmless. Bandana, quit being such a laser brain. You guys are stinkin’ up the joint with your buffoonery” she nods to Hunter, then Mad “and your angst.”
Both Hunter and Mad, taken aback by Cid’s scolding, soften and relax.
“Cid’s right. I really am harmless...and a laser brain. My name is Hunter.”
He extends his hand to shake. Mad continues to stare into Hunter’s deep brown eyes for several beats before extending her own and taking his hand. As her fingers slide into his grasp, there is an intense warm wave that passes between them both that ends in a tingle. Hunter and Mad’s body hair stands on end as the tingle runs up one arm, crosses their hearts and runs down the other arm.
Hunter, trying to maintain his cool, gives a lopsided attempt at a smoldery smile while still holding Mads gaze. Mad was never prepared for this sensory experience and immediately inhaled while her pupils dilate, and her face slightly flushes. Hunter can hear her heart skip a beat, then pick up to a frenetic pace. He smells perspiration as it begins to form upon her skin. He also smells a faint hint of arousal.
“Mad...” She’s thrown off by what just happened and quickly pulls away. She’s used to whatever crawls into the bar trying to daftly impress, threaten, cajole, talk down to, manhandle, or manipulate her. He’s self-depreciating, disarming, and a bit goofy...while smoking hot. She’s confused and warming up to this Hunter guy. But the walls are still up. The urge to bust him in the chops has left her mind.
“Wooo. That was...intense!” Mad’s feral demeanor fell away to shit eating grin and head tilt. She fans herself with her hand. That sensation was amazing! What the hell did HE do?
Hunter chuckled. “Uh, yeeaaah...” Casually crosses his legs to hide a semi erection. That sensation was amazing! What the hell did SHE do?
“That happen often?”
“Nope. You’re the first.”
“Shush...flattery will get you everywhere” Mad leaned in closer to Hunter, still not breaking intense eye contact. She was falling into the pool of those warm brown eyes. Basking in them. Hoping not to drown.
“I can only hope,” he counters. His heart flutters first, then he feels a second flutter between his crossed legs. Physically he feels amazing. Mentally, he feels like an idiot.
Cid, leaning against the back of the bar, rolled her eyes. “Can I get you love birds to move the party to The Oasis? I can’t handle the melodrama. Give ya a bottle of free Spotchka to get lost.”
“The Oasis?” Hunter said suddenly. He was very confused. To the best of his knowledge, Cid never mentioned it.
“It’s a secret little hideaway. She doesn’t let just anyone use it.” Mad winked at Cid then gave Hunter a conspiratorial grin.
Cid wrinkled her nose and shot Hunter a nasty look, “I never let your Batch in on it...except for Tiny. Your ship smells like poodoo. If you trash my Oasis, you’ll owe me FOREVER!” She followed this up by pointing her long bony Trandoshan claw at him.
Yep, that did it: Totally killed Hunters erection.
Cid plunked down a full bottle on the bar. Mad grabbed it as she got up from her bar stool. “Care to join me for Spotchka under the stars...Hunky?”
Two loud and very offended scoffs from across the room, “How come we don’t' get free bottles?”
“SHUT IT!” from Cid “Or you both are gonna get a bottle each...upside your heads!!!”
Hunter could only answer with a smile and nod, grateful he could now get to his feet without embarrassment from a certain bodily function. He followed Mad to Cid’s office and through a hidden doorway.
“Don’t trash my Oasis! I MEAN IT!!!” came Cid’s shrill threat from the other room.
Mad grabbed Hunters hand and led him through several dark winding stairways, many doorways, purposeful twists and turns that confused the sense of direction. The last door opened to a rooftop area...

Huh, interesting. I think that might be our individual experiences then.. when I think of spokespeople for the trans community, my first thought is actually a trans man- an author/youtuber/activist named Jamie Raines. Generally I'd say that within the community, representation is pretty balanced. But for people outside the trans community, I can absolutely see how some voices would get more attention than others, depending on the issue at hand.
As for the bathroom conversation, I believe that trying to bar trans women from women's bathrooms creates more problems than it solves. The issue of cis men pretending to be trans women for access to women's spaces is almost nonexistent, while enforcing the birth-sex bathroom rule can lead to forced inspections (creepy and intrusive), people calling the police even on cis women who look more "masculine" (pushes beauty standards), and forcing trans men- including fully transitioned ones who could easily pass as cis men- into the women's bathroom (uncomfortable for everyone and completely defeats the purpose).
I find the 4b movement really interesting because from what I've seen it's very separatism-focused, which I don't think will lead to equality in the long run, but I also recognize that I have the privilege of living in a relatively safe area and I'm glad women who don't have as much safety are creating movements to protect themselves. However, the issue is that trans women- who are also victims of violence, check out this study for some stats- are generally excluded, putting them at higher risk.
Just to be clear: I do not expect you to be attracted to trans women :) Having a sexual preference is totally valid, and it is definitely unfair when people treat that as transphobia. The problem is when people push the idea that lesbians who are attracted to trans women aren't valid- that pushes both the idea that trans women aren't women and the "gold star lesbian" ideology.
I 100% agree with your last point, that's really well said! We should absolutely be able to discuss things from a biological standpoint without using it to contradict/invalidate identity, I think you and I just have different approaches to that :)
Tysm for your reply, it gave me a lot to think about! I put some resources under the cut
This article includes the diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria (being trans is, thankfully, no longer considered a mental illness. This diagnosis just helps people access the resources and care they need)
This study (full text here) focuses on structural differences in the brain. In short, trans people do have distinct "sex-atypical" phenotypes, but there are a few more points in the Discussion section that you might find interesting
For info about mental health, I'd recommend checking out the sources I linked in the last reply of this post, which basically just sums up how trans-related mental health issues are primarily caused by external factors, and gender-affirming care + societal acceptance are proven to help.
I'll let you know if I think of anything else :D I can also try to explain my own experience with being genderfluid, if you'd like to hear some firsthand perspectives /nf
my thing w trans people is i really don’t care what they do with their bodies, gender, pronouns wtv. that’s ur business.
i only really care when males attempt to insert themselves into females’ business. you are not a biological female and will never experience what it is like to like your entire life as one. and the problem is so many trans women (at least from what i’ve seen) are afraid to just… admit that?? you are, biologically, a male, accept it and move along.
and i also dont like how trans women are like the spokespeople for the community?? no offense but it’s literally males dominating over females’ voices
i don’t care what one does with their identity. personally, i’ve been trying to look into the psychology of being transgender to understand it a bit better. but like at the end of the day, your biology still plays a huge part, no??
hopefully others give some insight cuz i’m interested in hearing other takes. this is definitely a conversation i do not mind having.

I don't understand he/him lesbians, I'm friends with a few lesbians and they all say it's harmful to lesbians for someone who identifies as male to call themselves a lesbian, is this right? If you're not comfortable explaining that's ok! I just saw you answered an ask with it and I wanted someone else's opinion? I'm not too keyed in on sexuality and genders and stuff (I'm a bi cis woman) but I'm trying to learn more to be more considerate to the people around me and stuff
Hey, if you're reaching out and seeking advice on the topic, that is good for me!
I will not do this very often though just because I want this blog to be a place for funny battle cats and general celebrations of queerness, but for you, I will give you a brief rundown and some good links to further reading if you'd like to learn more.
So this sentence is aimed at everyone who is not this anon; my stance is not negotiable and the block button is my best friend. Do not use this post to argue. Thank you.
It is not correct that people who identify with masculinity cannot use the term lesbian.
Queerness isn't about rigid boxes and fitting ourselves into them, that's what we're supposed to be against!
Lesbians are people who identify in some way with femininity and have sapphic affections for other feminine people. I've met agender (no gender) lesbians, genderfluid (gender isn't rigid and shifts like liquid) lesbians, demigender (sort-of feels gender but not much) lesbians, multigender (identifies with multiple genders possibly including masculinity) lesbians, so on.
I have even known a transgender man who found the label better described his relationship to women than the term 'heterosexual.' When asked why, he described it as, "I don't love women the way other men do." Even though he was no longer a woman, he still felt a connection to femininity that he felt was best described as sapphic.
A person's relationship to gender can be a very complex and multifaceted thing. In fact this complexity is why I personally use the term genderqueer.
When a homophobic chucklefuck says, "Uhuhuh im a lesbian like u because i also like women what now" What they're doing is being disrespectful. That is what is harmful about that. They do not care that you say, "Ah, well, a lesbian is only women who like other women!" because now you've given them a foot in the door to shave women down into rigid boxes of femininity to fit stupid binary rules.
TERFs have used this in the past to divide our community. Our enemies do not care that our terms "make sense." They just want us gone.
Pronouns don't always equal gender.
Just like how I mentioned that there are masculine people who can identify in some part with femininity without being women, the same thing can happen with people who are women and feel a connection to masculinity, or something else entirely.
Lesbians using he/him pronouns goes back for decades, even centuries. Some would use these pronouns to pass as men (and may have been what we'd call transgender men with modern terms), while others feel a strange relationship to their assigned gender through their sexuality, and some simply prefer he/him.
He/him lesbians, they/them lesbians, xe/xir lesbians...
Discomfort is not the only reason to change your pronouns. Disconnect is not the only way we explore ourselves. Sometimes it's pleasure!
PLEASE GO READ
(CW: The following literature is intended for adults and discusses sexuality and queer history, including oppression, violence, racism, etc.)
Female Masculinity by Jack Halberstam Talks about the history of masculinity in the lesbian community. Important book. Please read.
Butch, Femme, Dyke, Or Lipstick, Aren't All Lesbians The Same?: An Exploration Of Labels And "Looks" Among Lesbians In The U.S. South, a thesis by Denielle Kerr While this one isn't about history, it's a really good introduction to the discussion in general since you specifically mentioned not knowing much about these issues. It touches on a bunch of popular queer theories in a way applicable to lesbians specifically, like performance theory, bodywork, intersectionality... Just follow the citations when you see something you'd like to know more about.

I wanted to address your points here but the post is rather long, so I will respond separately. The post is linked, though, so anyone can go back and read our responses.
What you are calling “misconceptions” are really different conceptions of Loki that are based in different people’s interpretations of Norse Mythology. If you insist we can’t know about Loki’s actual relationship to their sex and gender then you can’t logically also insist that your interpretation is correct and everyone else is simply misinterpreting it. While there are limitations in how we may be able to understand written records and the intentions behind them, we can look at the cultural context in which oral storytelling transitioned to written texts and make educated guesses about those things. Many queer Norse pagans have put in a considerable amount of effort into interpreting the Eddas, sagas, and historical and archaeological research in order to come to the conclusions they do about Loki and the like. There is a lot of evidence that Loki transgressed gender norms, regardless if there was a specific purpose for it or not. There is also evidence that Loki was capable of changing their sex in addition to shape shifting into many different forms. Whether or not you personally believe he is queer or genderfluid doesn’t make them wrong and you right.
Furthermore, terms like “hermaphrodite” aren’t technically more accurate because such language is outdated and problematic when it comes to talking about a person whose biological sex doesn’t fit into a binary. For genderqueer, genderfluid, transgender, non-binary, and/or intersex people who may find Loki relatable... whether or not Loki fit into modern definitions of these terms at the time the Eddas were written is irrelevant. What matters is that Loki doesn’t fit neatly into either the gender binary or sex binary. We know that how people defined themselves long ago and how they conceptualized their gods don’t always align with what we know today. That’s fine but if a character in a show who is queer and non-binary identifies with Loki because Loki’s experiences resonates with them, there is actually no harm in that and there is no “technical misconception” about it. It is just different from your point of view which is shaped by what information you have been exposed to, how you interpret that information, and how you personally connect with the gods. As I said, you don’t have to like Laurits as a character but if your criticism boils down to “I don’t like that he makes people think Loki is genderfluid or queer” then that’s an issue.
Re: racist dog whistles, my point is that the show is not aiming to tell a white supremacist narrative. The point is to tell a story that is relatable to Norwegian culture, and that story is impacted by their Norwegian and Danish team. The terminology and symbols they use throughout the show are not meant to be dog whistles that only white supremacists / neo-nazi pagans can understand. The show instead uses its retelling of Norse Mythology in a modern setting to be critical of things like fascism, capitalism, and ecological destruction.
Your interpretations of Loki are based on your interpretations of the Eddas, which is fine but there are other interpretations of Loki and Norse Myths. Snorri Sturluson compiled some of these stories from oral tradition during a Christianizing era in Iceland. They’re a great resource that give us a good idea of what people generally believed. However, different interpretations exist and that’s okay too. I am well aware and I have discussed in detail in the past that Æsir and Jotnar share ancestry and that many figures including Loki are both. You do not have to condescend to me about Loki being caught up between two worlds, because it stems from my own interpretation of Loki’s interactions with both Æsir and Jotnar based on his relationship with key figures and his offspring. It’s fine if you do not interpret Loki the same way. I am not not acknowledging that most of our understanding of Norse Mythology is speculative or interpretive. In fact, I’m trying to argue that it is, and different media aren’t necessarily trying to be 100% faithful to “source material.” That being said, I also don’t think it’s fair to criticize a character for basically being genderfluid just because it’s an interpretation of Loki you don’t think is “correct.” That’s mostly where I’m... 😬😬😬, because that’s not fair to the queer people who do identify with Loki this way. You are not more or less correct than they are and it’s not a “misconception” for them to conceptualize Loki this way. It’s just different.

Sylvie x Loki Might Not Happen and Here’s Why
***SPOILERS FOR LOKI TV SHOW***
1. They are basically siblings
Even though they have different personalities, backstories, and physical appearances, that doesn't change the fact that they are the genetic equivalent of siblings. No matter what Timeline you're looking at, both Sylvie and Loki are the offspring of Laufey and whoever he had children with. We know this because they are Variants of the exact same person, meaning that if either of them were born to someone other than Laufey, they would have been pruned as a baby. And since they weren't, that means they must be just as genetically similar as siblings are.
Because of this, the idea of Sylvie and Loki engaging in any kind of romantic or sexual relationship is extremely disturbing to a lot of fans. It's too big an oversight to brush past, especially when the show has continued to remind us over and over that they are, in fact, both Lokis. Maybe if them being the same person wasn't such a major plot point, it would be easier to ignore the facts, but it is, and that means that Marvel is basically pushing either an incest or selfcest (depending on how you look at it) type relationship. And that’s extremely risque for a corporation as large as Marvel, especially with a character as beloved by fans as Loki.
2. It is terrible LGBTQ+ representation
And before anyone says anything, no, it is not because Sylvie is portrayed as female and Loki as male. I've seen a lot of Sylvie x Loki shippers say that the reason people don't like the couple is due to it being one between a male and female, but that's not true. Loki and Sylvie were both confirmed to be bisexual, meaning that they can engage in a relationship with anyone of any gender. It would be completely valid for either of them to pursue romance with someone of a different sex and still be bisexual. No one is arguing against that, and if they are, I definitely do not agree with them.
However, the problem comes in when you take into account Marvel and Disney's (who owns Marvel) long history of queerbaiting. There have been countless times that Disney advertises their "first gay character!" only for it to be a single line of dialogue or a brief shot. Marvel in particular has used the popularity of certain LGBTQ+ ships and headcanons in their fanbase to generate media popularity that they don't actually follow through with in their movies/shows. So when Loki was confirmed to be both genderfluid and bisexual in Episode Three, lots of people felt like they were finally getting a win for representation.
But those people, myself included, appear to have been let down again. The first two official queer characters had so much potential to go off and be with anyone they wanted, but instead, the show has set them up to be in a romance with each other. Now, this wouldn't be problematic on it's own, but when you take into consideration the questionable nature of their romance from Point One as well as the fact that the show has explicitly referred to it as "twisted," it raises the question of whether or not this is actually good representation. Because the fact is, in one episode the writers went “look, it’s two queer people!” and in the next, they said “their relationship is disgusting and demented.” Marvel’s first bisexual characters being borderline incestuous/selfcestuous does not sit well with me at all.
All of this is made even more confusing when you take into account the background of the Loki crew, most notably, the director Kate Herron. She also directed the Netflix series Sex Education, which has quite a bit of very well done representation of all kinds. So how is she managing to fail so badly on this project? It makes me wonder whether she truly is just losing her touch or if this is all a misdirection. Personally, I'm hoping for the latter.
3. It does not send the "self love" message people seem to think it does
The writers, director, and cast of Loki have said multiple times that the relationship between Sylvie and Loki is meant to act as a metaphor for self love. And in a way, that makes a lot of sense. Despite creating different identities for themselves over time, they are still ultimately the same person and therefore share a special bond because of it. And there's a lot of potential that can be done with that concept.
Loki is an extremely complex and intriguing character. He has experienced a lot of trauma in his past that has shaped him into the person he is today. And that person is clearly very broken. He has never given away or received any kind of love, with the exception of his mother and possibly his brother, Thor. Other than that, he's had no healthy friendships, romances, or perception of himself. It makes sense for him to be confused by this pull he feels towards Sylvie, who is both alarmingly alike and vastly different from himself.
Something this series does exceptionally well is breaking Loki out of his comfort zone. He is finally forced to see himself from other people's perspectives. It started with the file Mobius showed him in the first episode. Loki was able to view his actions apart from himself, and was hit with the realisation that he had been hurting people, and he didn't like that.
Loki is also confronted by the existence of the Time Keepers and the TVA, who describe him as an antagonist and nothing more. To them, his role is to make those around him look better, even if that means he repeatedly gets the short end of the stick. Mobius mentions that he disagrees with this and that Loki "can be whoever and whatever he wants, even someone good," adding another layer of depth as to who Loki could be in the future of the series.
Another huge moment for Loki's character development is while in the Time Loop Prison with Sif. Though he starts out annoyed with the situation and recalls not feeling apologetic when he cut off Sif's hair, the longer he is in the loop, the more he changes. Loki admits things to himself that we have never seen him say aloud, such as the fact that he is a narcissist that craves attention. Sif telling Loki over and over that he deserves to be alone makes Loki question whether or not he believes that to be true, allowing him an introspective moment where he really has to think about who he is.
Now with all of that being said, I'd like to tie in why this is important to the writing of Loki and Sylvie. They act as a mirror to one another, representing both the flaws and strengths of "what makes a Loki a Loki." For once, Loki gets an honest, unbiased look at himself without layers of expectations or self doubt. On Lamentis, he calls Sylvie "amazing" and praises her for all her accomplishments. That's a huge moment for him because it shows that despite also finding her irritating, he can look past those traits and see someone worth being a hero underneath. And through that realisation, he begins to understand that he can also grow to love himself. That kind of character development for Loki is incredible to watch, and it's the kind of character development I want to see from this series. Unfortunately, them possibly engaging in a romantic relationship will ruin it.
Whenever I'm feeling insecure about myself and my abilities, the solution has never been to look at who I am through a romantic lens. Self love is an entirely different type of love from romantic love, so if the series tries to push this relationship as a romance, it will fail to truly represent the arc that they are trying to show.
4. Nobody likes it
This one's a little on the nose, but it's true. Almost no one likes this ship, and more than that, most people actively hate it. Yes, there is a small minority that like Loki and Sylvie together, but there is an overwhelmingly larger group that is disgusted and angry by the fact that the show paired them up.
After Episode 4 aired, I ranted for about an hour and a half with a friend about how much we didn't want them together. My aunt whom I have never texted reached out to me to say that she hated their relationship. My homophobic neighbour came over and told me that she would prefer any other romance to this. Friends that I haven't talked to much since school let out for summer have all agreed that they collectively dislike Loki x Sylvie. This ship has brought people together purely because everyone hates it more than they hate each other.
There is no denying that the general feedback for Loki and Sylvie being a couple has been negative, even if you support them getting together for some reason. So if there are so many people out there who don't like it, I'm confused as to how it would be approved by a team of professionals.
5. The contradicting information we have gotten so far
Before the release of Episode Four, Kate Herron said that the relationship between Loki and Sylvie was “not necessarily romantic.” During the interview, she continued to refer to them as friends and people who found solace and trust in each other.
However, after Episode Four, the head writer, Michael Waldron, and other members of the crew spoke up about Sylvie and Loki. They said things like “it just felt right that that would be Loki’s first real love story” and “these are two beings of pure chaos that are the same person falling in love with one another.” These kinds of comments very heavily imply something romantic, directly contradicting what Kate Herron said. Even Tom Hiddleston, the actor for Loki, has assessed the situation, highlighting the differing viewpoints. He’s also said before that the end of Episode Four ultimately has Loki getting in his own way.
Now, this could all just be a misdirection on either side to build suspense for the show, but as of right now, it is entirely unclear who is telling the truth. Though it is more likely that the statements made by Michael Waldron are more accurate (as he is the writer), there is still a slight possibility that Loki x Sylvie won’t happen. I’ll link the articles I’ve found on this topic below so you can read them and decide for yourself.
Kate Herron Statement - https://www.cbr.com/loki-sylvie-relationship-not-romantic/

6. It is still salvageable
The odds are not in our favour, I’m afraid. It is highly probable that the show will put Loki and Sylvie in a romantic relationship with each other. Yet there is still a way to salvage it and turn their bond into something incredibly satisfying. Like I mentioned in Point Three, the relationship between Loki and Sylvie has the potential to be incredibly empowering and provide both characters some much-needed growth. And I believe that while unlikely, it can still do that.
The only mention of them being romantically interested in each other came from Mobius, who at the time was angry, betrayed, and doing anything he could to get Loki to talk. Then, at the end of the episode, right before Loki is about to confess something important to Sylvie, he is pruned. This results in no explicit confirmation from either Loki or Sylvie that they are in love with each other. The audience is left not knowing whether Mobius was correct in his speculations, and honestly, I don’t think Loki knows either.
Loki is no expert on love, as I explained earlier. It is entirely possible that he doesn’t grasp how he feels about Sylvie and defaults to romance because of what Mobius said. There is undoubtedly some sort of deep bond forming between them, and I would love to see that being explored in the next two episodes. I would love to watch Loki’s journey of realising that he doesn’t want anything romantic with Sylvie, and was simply confused by the new things he was feeling towards her. Loki even says “this is new for me” when talking to Sylvie at the end of Episode Four. Him momentarily believing that he wants to be a couple with her then shifting into them becoming friends who help each other grow is still a reality that could happen. And ultimately, I think that would benefit them both as characters as well as strengthen the overall message of the show.
In a show about self love, acceptance of yourself, and figuring out who you want to be, Loki very much needs people who support him. He has that in Mobius already, and now he’s beginning to have it in Sylvie as well. I just hope that it is done in a way that resonates with the audience and subverts expectations, which just cannot be done through some twisted romantic relationship. I’ve spoken to others watching the show and seen people talking online, and everyone seems to agree that Loki and Sylvie work much better as platonic soulmates or found family than a couple.
Of course, my hopes aren’t that high up. While I’d love for this to happen, I’ve been let down by Marvel before and wouldn’t be surprised if they went for the easy route of pairing characters up rather than dealing with the emotions correctly. Still, I have hope for this series. Everything else about it is wonderful and perfect in every way. It has the potential to become a masterpiece and easily the best thing that Marvel has ever done. However, this romance would ruin it for me and so many others. We already feel incredibly disappointed by Loki x Sylvie being suggested, so I can’t even begin to fathom how people will react if the show makes it canon. I’m begging Marvel to please do better than this. They have a wonderful story to tell and a wonderful team to do it, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that they don’t throw that away.

My Wisdom
So, I get asked quite frequently on my LGBTQ+ Roblox Community about a lot of LGBTQ+ stuff. It's kind of awesome to help people out on that platform, but also a bit risky since you can (and most likely will) get banned for saying positive things about the LGBTQ+ community. People who tend to say bad things are less likely to get in trouble compared to the people who are sending positivity, making avatar accessories, LGBTQ+ friendly "experiences", and so on. Overall, the outcome of the staff being really anti-LGBTQ+ (and I still have the emails telling me I cannot upload LGBTQ+ flag decals and accessories) has put a damper on my mood for the past few months. And in spite, I turned my old avatar accessory stuff into IRL merch. So they can suck it! | My DNI List | (mobile version)| With that said, I have quite a lot of questions from the group which is about 600+ people now. Still growing and lots of questions almost weekly, and really good questions that I wish I could explain more about. So... this is kinda what I'm going to do here. This is a butt load of Q&A;
I get this question quite a few times: What spectrum or umbrella is genderfluid classified as? Genderfluid can fit under many umbrellas and spectrums because of how fluid it is. The majority of the time, it's mostly labeled under the Transgender, Nonbinary, and Multigender umbrellas and spectrum. But it can include various other umbrellas/spectrums, including Agender, Xenogender, and Demigender (possibly even more) depending on how an individual feels about their gender identity. Of course, since it's a part of so many it can be considered on its own in a way. Again, it's all up to the individual, since everyone experiences it differently.
"If I went from demiromantic to akoiromantic in the span of a few weeks, and I sometimes feel less romantic than other times, would that be Aroflux?" Aroflux is when someone fluctuates across the aromantic spectrum and sometimes even into the alloromantic spectrum too. So, if someone were to feel their romantic attraction fluctuates mostly on the aromantic spectrum, Aroflux would be a term to describe that feeling. And it never has to be the entire aromantic spectrum, it can be specific terms or feelings instead. But I wholeheartedly recommend doing research on your own to figure out if you really identify with Aroflux or any other term. Sometimes reading through the aromantic spectrum list helps people.
"Is it normal to have multiple orientations?" Yes! And it's very valid! When most people think of multiple orientations, they think of the different attractions. For example, someone being Biromantic and Asexual. Or Demisexual and Lesbian. But you can also have multiple terms for the same kind of attraction! You can be mspec lesbian or mspec gay, those are valid (don't believe anyone who says otherwise)! People generally use multiple orientations to fill in the gaps one term may leave for them, as not everyone has the same definition or feeling for a term. The difference should be respected because it's important for some people and that matters the most!
"do you have any tips on coming out?" I've only come out to my closest family and all my friends pretty much know beforehand. But I know it depends on who you're trying to come out to. And age sometimes matters (like if your young and under guardianship still), because it's not very safe for youth to come out when their guardians are hostile towards LGBTQ+ members. Even though, I dislike letting people have to hide or feel fear of the idea... I do want to look out for people's safety. I don't want people to get hurt in any way. And sometimes waiting to come out is a better option. If you know your family is conservative, be a little cautious. Think about your plan of coming out. Maybe ask questions to get an idea of what they think about LGBTQ+. For example; "Do you know what Pride Month is?". Sometimes that sounds like your seeking answers to curiosity without outing yourself before you know their thoughts. I know a bit from experience, cause I'm still waiting to come out and some of my family is conservative. This is sort of my plan to work up the courage and know it's safe to come out to them. And as someone older and still hearing what family says, it sounds a lot different once you understand what they're talking about.
"I have been in the Nonbinary umbrella a while and I kinda think I am still a girl but I am not sure since I don't like the girl title on me..." It's up to the individual in the end. But also, pronouns do not equal gender. And gender does not equal physical appearance. So, if that's your main concern you are still valid no matter what gender identity you identify with. Dress how you want and use the pronouns that make you comfortable! But if you still concerned, I do again recommend some research. But there are many types of non-binary genders out there. You can even use multiple to define yourself! If it's an intensity fluctuation where you feel like a girl strongly at one moment but then not at all another moment, it could be similar to a Demigender. There's also Paragender, similar to Demigender which is to describe more of someone who feels more like one gender but there is still a small part of them that feels like another or a combination of others. But those are only two of the many many options out there! There are tons of genders that are feminine/female/girl-aligned, close but not quite feminine/female/girl, or even just a tiny bit feminine/female/girl-aligned, while also still being nonbinary in some way. Nonbinary is a rather large umbrella, so there is a big list to research and choose from!
This is a two-part question and I had a little help answering it with @orlan-the-sapphic on my group's wall. It was an awesome question and really interesting! "Can Demigirlfluidflux be a thing? Or am I just really indecisive? I'm really confused on which I am it's all mixed up for me" Orlan's reply: "I'm pretty sure it's possible. I mean there's already a term for Demifluidflux but without the girl or something female part. I mean you could probably make the term of the identity yourself if someone hasn't already if that's what you find for who you are or for others too". (I love Orlan's reply, couldn't have said it better myself). I definitely believe Demigirlfluidflux is a thing. I'd imagine it's probably a combination of Demifluidflux and Girlflux, or maybe Demifluidflux and Demigirl (possibly even all three?). I'm unable to find a definition for it, but it's probably similar to Demifluidflux but with female being static (stationary or main, not meant to mean strictly binary) gender alongside possible other genders and intensities. It would make sense since demigirl is a label based off of demigender but defines more of the female-aligned experience. But coming back to what Orlan said, if someone wants to they can make their own term. This might including making your own flag (whether it's a combination or completely new)! "I have another question... does Agenderfluix mean both fluid and flux with any gender? And if not is there a Agender term for being fluidflux with only demigirl and demiboy?" Agenderfluix, from my understanding, is mostly considered Agender however similar to how Fluidflux fluctuates in between different genders and different intensities. There are many ways for it to fluctuate and can experience many genders as it's a mixed term of Genderfluid, Genderflux, and Agender based off of the wiki page I linked. As for another term for Fluidflux, I couldn't find one with just demigirl and demiboy. I would imagine it's probably a mixed term like Agenderfluix. Maybe named something like Demibifluidflux? A mixture of Demigender, Bigender, and Fluidflux. It would be something I recommend searching up. If nothing pops up, again people can make their own terms to help identify themselves the way they want.
And last but not least; "Is it possible to just not identify as a gender? I find it annoying finding it out and I identify as Agender now, but I don't know if that will stick. My gender switches between most genders and then sometimes I don't identify as one..." That is a possibility and it's really up to the individual on how they want to identify or not identify. As someone who is Genderfluid, I often feel like this. Either I; switch between many genders, don't know what I am, only switch between certain ones most of the time, just don't want to deal with the hassle of figuring it out, or feel like nothing at all. There have been so many feelings about gender I've experienced over the past 4ish years of knowing I was Genderfluid, plus more before knowing (which was really confusing at first). And the thing about Genderfluid is that it's not always a broad spectrum. You can be specific genders throughout your entire experience, either fluctuate regularly or in the past. It happens to some people and that's okay! Sometimes it is just a hassle to call it something, so it's okay if you don't use a term. You don't need a label to be valid! Genderfluid is probably one of the broader terms to use when someone experiences a fluctuating gender. But there are of course many other types of fluctuating terms, including ones that describe intensity on top of fluctuation. Again (probably gonna say this a million times), something to look up on for yourself.
I found those questions rather neat to answer, plus I enjoy helping people out when I can. Remember; no matter if your identity or orientation changes over time, you're still valid! And you are the sole person in control of deciding who you are and how you want to label yourself (or even not at all)- Roxzania💙

um its my birthday so wait until 12:01am pst to block me if u hate this post 🥰🥰
long story short the pansexual label is redudant and actively harmful (its far from the worst problem bisexuals face but it is one issue) and i dont hate anyone who identifies as pan because A) those ppl are bi like me and B) i used to identify as pan myself.
if thats enough for you to block me and make a callout post for me then i cant stop you but pretty please either read this whole thing or just wait a few minutes for my bday to end 🥰🥰
anyways im kicking off this point with some personal experiences bc i love to talk to myself. i got introduced to the pan label at maybe 10ish years old, and started identifying with it pretty much right away. i heard about it before bisexual and it was pitched as attraction to all genders and of course trans people. i was of course a trans ally! i had trans friends! i was trans also but hadnt figured it out yet! the way i had heard of it, there was no bisexual, there was no need for bisexual, and identifying differently was excluding trans people, which I was certainly against. being bisexual was trans exclusionary and why would i exclude trans people? the 'hearts not parts' slogan was thriving around this time and i genuinely said it and meant it.
as i started to become more online, mostly through roleplaying websites and tumblr here, i started hearing of bisexuality. it was supposedly an older term, so older people still used it, but it was common knowledge that pansexual was the better, inclusive label and younger people should adopt the new inclusive language instead of the old and transphobic words like bisexual. /s
and then bi and pan solidarity was all the rage! pansexual wasnt erasing bisexuality, why did anyone ever think that? bi and pan were two separate and complete identities that were valid and had to be respected or youre a mean exclusionist. and an asexual person, hearing people labelled exclusionist always meant they were excluding people from the lgbta community who rightfully belonged, denying peoples lived experiences, and generally telling people theyre wrong about their sexuality because theyre too young. and all of those things were bad and had hurt me, so it would be ridiculous to change labels and support "pan exclusionists" because they were just as bad as ace and aro exclusionists, and they were all the same people. or so it seemed to me at that time.
then, 'hearts not parts' began getting called out for blatant transphobic by insinuating that pansexual was the only identity that loved people for their "hearts" and personalities instead of those gross gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and even straights who only saw people for their "parts". (STRAIGHT PEOPLE ARE NOT OPPRESSED. I AM MERELY POINTING OUT THAT PANSEXUALITY WAS SHOWN AS ABOVE ALL OTHERS.) many pan people, including myself, began to denounce the slogan and insist pansexuality wasnt transphobic, there had just been a coincidence that a transphobic slogan was everywhere and a huge part of people's explantions of and associations with pansexuality. hint: it wasnt a coincidence.
from my perspective, this is when i began to see people discussing dropping the word pansexual. that seemed to be a huge step from getting rid off a transphobic slogan, and these people were just meanies who hated microlabels. and i like microlabels! as a genderfluid person, and someone who has friends who use specific aro and acespec labels, ive seen how people can use them to name specific experiences while still acknowleging their presence underneath umbrella terms like aromantic, asexual, nonbinary, lgbta, and for some people, queer.
pansexuals dont do that. they dont label pansexuality as a specific set of experiences under the bisexual umbrella, they see themselves as a separate identity, and even if they started to, the history of biphobia and transphobic undeniably linked to the existence of pansexuality in enough to stop being worth using. but i digress. pansexualitys shiny new definition that many people cling to is that pansexual is attraction to all genders. bisexual is two or more genders.
which. frankly? doesnt make any sense. my guess is that its supposed to be inclusive of nonbinary genders and those a part of cultures who historically have not had a binary gender system in the first place. i cannot speak for the latter group, but as a nonbinary person, its not inclusive. anyone can be attracted to nonbinary people. literally anyone. theres no way to know if everyone you meet is nonbinary or not. whether or not a nonbinary person reciprocates those feelings and is interested in pursuing a relationship is completely up to the individual, regardless of the sexualities of the people involved.
bottom line is that you cant number the amounts of genders someone can be attracted to, thus rendering those definitions pointless. people can be attracted to all kinds of people regardless of gender, even if they are gay, a lesbian, or straight. all people can date thousands of nonbinary genders if all people involved are interested and comfortable with it. numbering the genders you can be attracted to diminishes the post of nonbinary, as it is not a third gender, it simply any experience not fitting within the western concept of the gender binary (if the person so chooses to identify as such. if you cant tell already, the nonbinary experience is varied between every single nonbinary person.) important to note also that no widely accepted bisexual text defines bisexual as attracted to exclusively two genders or even the "two or more genders". i know this is used a lot but please read the bisexual manifesto. its free online i promise.
some people also claim pansexuals experience "genderblind" attraction while bisexuals feel differently attracted to different genders. this is very nitpicky for whats supposed to be two unconnected idenities, but thats only part of the problem. this definition is also not in any widely accepted bisexual texts, and bisexuality has never excluded those who experience genderblind attraction. i am in fact a bi person who experiences genderblind attraction. this does not mean i am not bisexual. it simply means i experience bisexuality differently than other bisexuals, and thats wonderful! no broad communities like bisexuality are expected to all share the same experience. we are all so different and its amazing were able to come together under the bisexual flag.
last definition, or justification i should say, is that yes these definitions are redundant and theyre the same sexuality, but people prefer different labels and thats okay. i agree in principle. people can define themselves as many things like homosexuals or gays or lesbians or queers or even other reclaimed slurs, while still not labelling themselves under the most "common" or "accurate" labels.
but pansexuality isnt the same as bisexuality, which may sound silly but hear me out. it has been continually used as a way to further divide bisexuals, who are already subject to large amounts of lgbta discrimination. "pansexuality was started by trans people who were upset with transphobia within the bisexual community! it cant be transphobic OR biphobic!" except of course that it can and it is. to say that trans people cant be transphobic is absurd. transmedicalism is right there, but thats not what im getting at. all minorities can have internal and sometimes external biases against people who are the same minority as them.
pansexuality was started as a way to be trans inclusive at the expense of labelling bisexuality as transphobic when its not. transphobia is everywhere, and bisexuals are not exempt. instead of working on the transphobia within the community, the creators of pansexuality decided to remove themselves from it to create a better and less tainted word and community, and the fact that pansexuality is intended to replace bisexuality or leave it for the transphobes goes to show a few things. pansexuality and bisexuality are inherently linked because the pan label is in response to the bi label. due to its origins, it is inherently competing with bisexuality and it cant be "reclaimed" from its biphobic roots. pansexuality is not a whole, separate, and valid label. its a biphobic response to issues within the bisexual community.
to top off this post, heres something a full grown adult once said to me. in person. she was my roommate. "i feel like im pan because im attracted to trans people. trans women, trans men, i could definitely date them. but not nonbinary people because thats gross and weird." she saw pan as trans inclusive and defined herself that way as opposed to bi which is shitty!
also a little extra tidbit about my experiences identifying as pan. i saw myself as better than every bi person. all of them. even my trans and bi friends. whenever they brought up being bisexual i would think to myself "why dont you identify as pansexual? its better and shows people you support trans people." because i was made to believe bisexuality didnt and was therefore inferior. thats the mindset that emerged from my time in the pansexual community. i am so sorry to all of my bisexual friends even if they never noticed. i love you all and hope you have a great day. this also goes to any bisexuals or people who identify as bi in anyway, such as biromantic or simply bi. love you all.
ummm yeah heres some extra reading i found helpful and relevant. here and here. also noooo dont disagree with me and unfollow me im so sexy 🥴🥴🥴
#if u have follow up questions ill probably answer them 2morrow#if u ask something just be nice its my birthday 🙄🙄#anyways time to tag this lol !#pansexuality#biphobia#transphobia#q slur#long post#my post#ask to tag maybe??

"first read everything that I have already written, then give me a lecture."
Lucky for you, I'm very petty and have the time, so I did just that. Below I'll be posting direct quotes said by you in other responses and will be adding my own reactions in bold next to them, but I hope that's not too confusing for you!
but, hey, I have nothing against the LGB community fun fact: some LGB people (myself included) and trans/non-binary, so I guess they're an exception for you. Also, does this mean you don't support pans and aces? The "+" is there for a reason.
I have no problem with trans ppl or non-binaries as long as they don't advertise themselves. Same energy as homophobes saying "I'm fine with it as long as they don't rub it in my face". So as long as you can ignore it and don't have to validate them?
I have the same conflict with groups of people who believe the earth is flat or with those who throw garbage anywhere other than the trash can. So you're comparing people who believe in equal rights who are backed up by science (if you want I can link you some articles) to people who go against science and people who are generally assholes? Gotta be honest with you, I really don't see the connection.
It was all of you who came to me with insults and complaints, not me to you because you were being transphobic and deserved to be called out for your behavior. You can't say bigoted shit and expect not to receive backlash.
Some people need to feel uncomfortable to shut up or reconsider their beliefs so you admit that you're doing this with the intention of hurting people, correct?
my believes (I'm assuming you meant beliefs) may be transphobic (I don't see anything wrong with that tho) I'm sorry, how many times have trans people been seen in the media being harassed, assaulted and KILLED by transphobes?
Gender is not equal to style or behavior, it is a system of oppression, a social hierarchy, which is the entire fucking reason why people identify as non-binary or genderqueer or genderfluid etc and use they/them pronouns. Because they don't identify as either of the gender binaries because as YOU said, it is a system of oppression.
Arin is female, JD is female, Galen is a whole-ass mereman, Alex is female. Okay but didn't you just say that gender isn't equal to style or behavior? So I'd love to know where you got these from. Also who fucking died and made you the decider of everyone's genders?
why should I give up my beliefs, which, by the way, are logically justified PLEASE show me some receipts that are not some conservative on tiktok or twitter I would LOVE to know how this is logically justified other than "because I said so"
just because YOU are angry, upset and believe in all sorts of nonsense? Angry and upset because you're invalidating people's identities? And nonsense? Once again, I'm more than willing to link you some articles of science proving and validating the existence of trans and non-binary people
In conclusion, you can't say hurtful shit and try to play the victim when people call you out on it. People like you are the main reason why there is so much hate and bigotry in the world. Like I said in my last message to you, it doesn't take that much effort to be a decent fucking human being. I can't wait to see how you respond to this, so I can have the chance to prove you wrong again. I hope your day is as pleasant as you are. :)
you got one thing right: you're dumbass. congrats?
If this is not too impudent on my part, do me one more favor and familiarize yourself with such a thing as "context". sorry, but you mixed the theses and explanations to them in your answer, and also answered them in the wrong order. and that makes some things sound foolishly, indeed.
anyway. do I exclude non-binary/trans ppl from the LGB community? I'm not, but you're not gonna like this. I'm still fairly confident that nbs have sex. so, for example, Arin is lesbian or bi (bc same-sex attraction) and Galen is bi or straight (bc not). well if you're interested: dunno about ases, but respect they wish don't fuck anybody. pans? only if by this they mean that they are monsterfuckers.
gender isn't equal to style or behaviour, gender is a hierarchical system based on biological sex, so it was you who designated the gender of Arin and co., not me, I don't care about all that gender shit. and "logically justified" means supported by arguments that do not contradict each other or the surrounding world. and i have a couple of them:
spare me your links, I am aware of the existence of intersex, "third-gender" and trans ppl and their condition in history. the former are very few and unlucky in the genetic lottery, so it would be low to justify yours positions with them. besides, based on the phenotype, society still imposes on them a female or male line of behavior, i.e. gender anyway. the latter are mainly outsiders who didn't fit strict gender stereotypes and were separated from "normal people" who, unlike the "third sex", played by the rules.
and poor trans people. people with dysphoria, with a psychological illness. you’re probably ready to rush to protect them from me, too? it would be better to protect them from your influence. because non-binaries support gender stereotypes, as do conservatives, which worsen their psychological state, no?
non-binary people understand that society is toxic to women and sometimes men, right? understand that gender is a system of oppression that needs to be destroyed and therefore ... create another gender that only reinforces how women and men should look, what should they be interested in and how should they behave? what? are you doing this on purpose so that all other men and women continue to suffer from stereotypes? after all, what does it look like: a man who wears skirts, paints his nails is non-binary, and a woman who has a short haircut has a muscular body and does not wear a dress is non-binary. sinister plan!
you ask who fucking died. biology is dead. and now me and other people have to remind you of the existence of... dunno, real life? nature? sexual attraction based on gender, i.e. on the genitals? that clothes and behavior have no gender, and if someone says the opposite, then it is necessary to fight with this idiot, and not cowardly run away to create a third gender?
a woman/men is a person with a female/male body and any personality, not any body with a female/male personality. so, yeah, nb are pretty useless thing. and pronouns change nothing. bc no one has a gender from birth, it is imposed based on the sex and it was so for thousands of years before us. and will be after us if nb and trans ignore biology and continue to carve out new genders according to old stereotypes.
it really doesn't take a lot of effort to be a decent human being, you just need to turn off your brains and agree with everything you are told to. yeaah.
oh, another thing. if I bump into a non-binary character that is not human, then I don't have a problem with their pronouns and I don't care about their biology. for example, Double Trouble from She-ra.

Fics of the Week
I am doing something a little different this time in honor of Juneteenth. For those of you who don’t know Juneteenth is celebrated at the day of emancipation here in Texas. On this day, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation, it was proclaimed that all enslaved persons in the state of Texas were to be free. Normally we would celebrate with some live music, fun, and food but the public festivities have been postponed due to COVID. So I thought I might give a shout-out to all the amazing writers of color out there! These writers span dozens of fandoms and include all kinds of pairings so hopefully you find something you love as much as I did. Without further ado, check out these amazing fics!

For the mods- how are your characters similar or different to you?
...
Thank you for the ask, mon ami!
Grantaire: i feel like i'm extremely similar to grantaire, before i even found Les Mis i was acting out my life exactly like he does in the brick. to this day i'm not nearly as active as the other Mods because i'm dealing with a lot of personal issues. I'm spending a lot of my time lately getting drunk and helping my local friends get out of my little reservation. I'm Plains Cree and it kills me to see everyone be so hopeless. all i want in the future is to see my people see value in themselves.
Babet: I don’t think I should actually admit to how similar Babet and I are.
Eponine: I’m fairly similar to Eponine, or at least my version of Eponine. I see Eponine as genderfluid, and yes that’s partly projection - but there is evidence for it in the book (Eponine repeatedly presents as male as well as female). I also love reading (Eponine is very proud of her ability to read in the book and likes showing off with it). I daydream a lot, and I love my siblings. I’m not exactly like Eponine, I don’t have the same experiences, but like Eponine, I dream of a better world. I’m not as brave as Eponine (I’m honestly a bit of a coward ha) but I admire their bravery. Like Eponine, I’d like to think I’d do anything for the people I care about.
Bahorel: In the brick Bahorel seems to be a kind of a social butterfly, he's like a link to other groups more than a known member of les Amis, and in the musical he doesn't even exists and it doesn't really affects anything, I feel I'm like that, for me is easy to connect with people in a superficial level but not feeling part of the group in a deeper sense, which isn't a bad thing because it's actually fun to just get along. I can be loud and easygoing. Also I feel we both got a sense of humour. I'm different tho in that I'm not as brave or bold , and I'm not *that* confrontative. But idk man, it's hard to say canonically with this characters we only get a few lines of, at the end most of it it's projection or straight up invented so who knows.
Javert: I don't think i'm very similar to Javert but i still have some of his attributes(or things i consider his attributes). I can be very very stuborn although not in a very negative fanatic way as him. I am passionate and can be dramatic as hell. Sometimes i can say very witty and dry sarcastic badass things. They are times that i seem weird when it comes to social interactions and sometimes i look restrained cold and closed (when i don't feel comfortable with some people) and i think he is too. Also my boy Javert is ace like me.It's just the facts.
Claquesous:
No.
Montparnasse: First of all, we’re both hot, jot that down. (We’re also vain, as you can see). Second of all, the line that described Montparnasse? “Gentle, effeminate, graceful, robust, weak, and ferocious”? ( Fahnestock and MacAfee translation). Yeah that’s me. We both like to be well-dressed and might or might not be willing to murder for nice clothes. To be fair, I’m nicer than he is and I am not exactly gonna... like... murder people for fun. (The 1%, on the other hand 👀). There was that one post about if you have a slider and you slide it from like, cute to dark you get Courfeyrac and Montparnasse respectively, I’m the whole spectrum of that :p I think our Feu is in denial how similar I am to parts of Montparnasse :p
Feuilly: Monty is not like Montparnasse- Monty is baby Montparnasse is not. On the other hand, I’ve shifted the characterization of Feuilly a bit over these past few years. Of course, I kept the hardworking and creative aspects (things I like to think that I am), but Mr. Thicctor Hugehoe didn’t give me much to work with. I simp for iced tea, just like Feuilly, I am also a fan of The Memes™, but I’m genderfluid and Feu isn’t! Also, I am not the sibling of our Monty 😔
Montparnasse: See, in denial ;) Also I have adopted you my dear. We are family by anything but blood.
Bossuet: I have taken to referring to my clumsy, accidentally self-harming daily nuisances as Bossuet-moments, if that explains anything? I am definitely prone to stupid, unlucky injuries and when I think things are going well, I can be pretty sure bad luck will spoil it. So there you go, check that off the list. Like Bossuet, though, I don't let it put me down permanently. I love my friends and I have gotten fairly good at getting my spirits up despite whatever doorframe I ran into or which favourite mug I dropped and scorched my feet. I'll be fine as long as my friends back me up.
Enjolras: I’m fairly similar to my character. I strive for equality and justice, I love my friends with all my heart, and I tend to take lead on things. There are places where I differ as well, but on the whole I feel Enj is the one I’m most similar to out of anyone in Les Mis.
Joly: I think I'm kind of like Joly! We're both known for being cheerful and optimistic, and I also use a cane to walk sometimes, which is part of why I love Joly! I also tend to write Joly as trans and I am too, and I love my friends very much, just like Joly!
Combeferre: The love of books and the tendency to always occupy the niche of the ‘Mom Friend’ are, I suppose, the most visible similarities. I have also been accused of spending too much on books, which is an outright lie, although, in the interests of transparency, my two most recent acquisitions did total £100+ and £62+ respectively.
I’m generally quite good at giving advice and am, at the risk of sounding arrogant, fairly intelligent. I can also be quite cutting with my words, although I’m rarely as polite as a simple “to be free”. I also share quite a lot of interests with Combeferre, both as he is in the book and in fanfiction. I’ve also somehow been infected with a love for moths and I hold everyone here completely and utterly responsible and am choosing to gloss over the fact that I have been obsessed with Mothra since I was a child.
I’m also relatively certain that I’m taller than most of this chaotic bunch.

what do you think about the new handbook?
In January 2016 I received a calling that gave me access to the Church’s Handbooks and I was surprised at the amount of specific things in there on which I had never considered the Church having an official position. I imagine a lot of people are having that experience this week.
I’m glad the Church made the Handbook available to everyone, it’s a move towards transparency. Before this, people were being held to standards or facing processes that only their leaders could access.
I appreciate that in some areas there’s better framework and clarity, but am sad that it often came in the form of being more restrictive or not in line with modern science.
I’m going to outline the changes and add a few comments. ’ll put my opinion about all of this at the end, so if that’s what you want to see, scroll to the bottom.
—————————————————————
Miscellaneous
The Handbook covers a lot of information, so I’m certain in the days and weeks ahead more new things will be discovered. But for now, here’s some assorted policies.
Sacrament
We’re supposed to take the Sacrament with our right hands
The wording that young men are encouraged, but not required, to wear a white shirt and tie is gone. All males who pass the Sacrament are asked to be clean and well groomed.
For a long time, which hand to use has been considered a personal choice, and some associated special meaning by using their right hand.
In February 2019, Elder Oaks saw some youth take the Sacrament with the left hand and he gave a short lecture that went viral telling these kids they were wrong, and now it’s official policy in the Handbook.
Dress Standards
The Relief Society Presidency is to teach dress standards to the sisters so their appearance and clothing show reverence and respect at Church and at the temple.
These are adult women!!! They can’t figure this out for themselves? It mentions ostentatious jewelry and casual clothes without any examples of what this means. I’m afraid some leaders will enforce their personal opinions, such as pants are verboten.
Also this section included a comment about ostentatious jewelry. What is that? Having 2 earrings in 1 ear?
—————————————————————
Discipline
Disciplinary councils have been renamed “Membership Councils”
People no longer are disfellowshipped or excommunicated. They have “formal membership restrictions” or “withdrawal of membership”
Does away with the unequal disciplinary structure for adult men vs adult women.
Before, men who were endowed had a disciplinary council at the stake level. Everyone else had a disciplinary council held by their bishopric.
Now anyone who is endowed and likely to have their Church membership withdrawn will have a stake membership council. Everyone else has a ward membership council for serious sins & actions
At the ward level, membership councils still function the same (the bishopric holds a council with the person whose membership is at risk).
At the stake level, the council now is similar to the way it works at the ward level (the stake presidency meets, without the high council also being involved).
The individual’s bishops can sit in on the council. The individual can also choose for the Elders Quorum or Relief Society President to sit in on the council.
Same-sex marriage is no longer apostasy
Apostasy has been removed from a list of reasons to hold a membership council. Instead it is on a case-by-case basis.
The stake president can place informal membership restrictions on the person and the stake president counsels with the Area Presidency (which are Seventy) about anything more than that, such as a membership council
The language is softer but the results are the same.
I like that men & women are treated equally in this new system. It always struck me wrong that most men in the church automatically had a council of 15 men and women had 3 men.
The reversal of the 2015 Policy of Exclusion finally made it to the Handbook.
—————————————————————
Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Same-Sex Attracted
Families & members should be sensitive, love and respectful of people who are gay, lesbian & bi
Sexual activity with someone of the same gender is on the same level as an unmarried sex.
Membership councils are optional in these cases, based on the leader’s discretion.
As long as an LGBTQ member is “striving” to live the law of chastity, they’re allowed to hold a calling and temple recommend
“Sexual cohabitation” used to be forbidden, now it’s “cohabitation”. So I guess gay people living together is a problem regardless of whether they have sex. I do know of a few couples who live together, but have given up sex in order to be temple worthy. I guess that’s no longer an option.
The mormonandgay website was done away with and some of the items moved to a new page titled “Same-Sex Attraction.”
Most of the links on this new page don’t work. I’m sure this will get fixed
Most of the “resources” from the old page aren’t on the new page.
The last 4 video stories of members from the former site are on the new site.
Credit for finally making this page available in languages other than English.
I wonder if it will still say it’s okay to identify using the terms gay, bi or lesbian.I know President Oaks prefers the phrase “same-sex attraction” and a lot of his influence is seen in the new Handbook changes.
The best section of the previous site was a collection of 17 members who are gay, bi and lesbian (well, 2 of them are parents of gay kids). Hearing them tell their story in their own words was powerful. Most of them have asked for their video to be removed.
The only stories remaining are 2 people in a mixed-orientation marriage and 2 parents who have a gay son. Each of those 4 members now has multiple videos (Laurie, Laurie’s husband, Laurie’s bishop, Laurie’s friend).
The experience of most LGB people in the Church is now absent from this page, which again confirms for me that this has been a site for leaders & family, not actual members who are bisexual, lesbian or gay.
—————————————————————
Transgender
Preferred names can be noted in your membership record and Church leaders are encouraged to use them.
People can also to ask others to use their chosen pronouns
Elective surgical or medical intervention (which I believe means hormone treatment) for the purpose of transitioning, and social transitioning will result in membership restrictions.
These restrictions include not getting to exercise the priesthood, receiving or using a temple recommend, and receiving some Church callings
Even if the hormone therapy is prescribed by a medical professional to ease gender dysphoria or reduce suicidal thoughts, membership restrictions will result
Transgender people who don’t transition can have Church callings & temple recommends
Gender is defined as “biological sex at birth.”
This is recorded on Church records and determines whether someone can receive the priesthood and how they experience the temple ordinances
Transgender people & their family are welcome to attend Sunday church meetings and social events
There is now a page for transgender people, just as there has been for LGB people
This whole section of the Handbook makes me sad because it reduces these members to being a mistake and they need to choose a side. Nevermind they were born this way and have complex lives, they need to look and act like a cishet member.
I’d love if the church leaders could show scriptural backing & the words of the Savior to justify their views on trans folks other than the Family Proclamation.
Credit to the Church for switching from “transsexual” to “transgender
While trans people are welcome to attend the 2nd hour of church, no guidance was given about if they can choose either Relief Society or Elders Quorum
It’s problematic to define gender being as your biological sex at birth. If gender is eternal, why is “at birth” needed? A doctor or nurse assigns a biological sex at birth by taking a look at the newborn’s external genitals. This is only 1 of 5 markers of gender. A doctor or a nurse is not God.
5 components of biological sex
external genitalia
inner reproductive anatomy
sex hormones
chromosomes
gonad differentiation (gonad secretions cause sex-specific patterns in many other tissues & the brain)
This section of the Handbook still speaks of gender as binary–you’re either male or female and trans. Genderfluid, nonbinary, or any acknowledgement of a spectrum doesn’t exist.
To say a trans person will face consequences for social transitioning is really troubling. What does “social transitioning” mean? Do pronouns count as “social transitioning?” Long or short hair? If people must dress according to gender stereotypes, then it seems like leadership is more concerned about the feelings of the 99 and not the health & well being of the 1.
Why is it only transgender members who have a ban on these surgeries? Lots of breast enhancements, reductions and mastectomies take place every month with not a whiff of interest by church leaders, but if it’s done to affirm one’s gender identity, then it’s forbidden, even if it’s life saving.
It did make me feel queasy to read that even if medical or surgical intervention is prescribed by medical professionals to deal with gender dysphoria or suicidal thoughts, too bad, we’re still going to punish you. What kind of monsters came up with this?
—————————————————————
Intersex, aka People Whose Sex isn’t Clear at Birth
The Handbook says the incident rate of intersex is extremely rare
Questions about membership records, priesthood ordination and temple ordinances for youth or adults who were born with sexual ambiguity should be directed to the Office of the First Presidency.
This is the first I’ve seen Intersex given their own section in the Handbook.
While policies about LGBT people are listed as “moral issues”, the section on intersex people is under “medical and health policies.” That’s a good sign, it means that the medical profession determines what is best, not a church leader.
I appreciate that church takes this out of the hands of local leadership. It’s a complex issue that untrained people shouldn’t get to have say over.
The Church assumes that surgical & medical intervention is needed for this group of people. Unfortunately it implies the default is to do so in infancy or early childhood when current best practices would be delaying, if possible, until the individual can weigh in on their body & identity.
The idea that intersex is rare, well that depends on what they consider rare.
The rate could be as high as 2% of the population or as low as 1 in 2000.
If we think of that in terms of Church congregations, it suddenly seems not so rare.
In North America, a ward must have 300 members. If 1%-2% are intersex, that’s a couple people in each congregation.
If we go with the lowest rate of 1 in 2000, consider that in the US & Canada a stake requires a minimum of 3000 members. So 1 or 2 members per stake would be intersex.
—————————————————————
I think these changes show that the Church is willing to include queer people up to a point. We can feel & be the person we believe ourselves to be as long as we don’t actually act in a way that affirms who we are.
We are to be loved, respected and welcomed, however these homophobic and transphobic policies remain in place. Love & respect is more than smiling & being nice to someone.
The policies of the Church regarding queer people is out of line with science. As science continues to advance and confirm that gender identities and sexual orientations are real and biological and not changeable by will, the tension for the Church on these topics will continue to grow.
“The only clear line I draw these days is this: when my religion tries to come between me and my neighbor, I will choose my neighbor. Jesus never commanded me to love my religion.” -Rev. Barbara Brown Taylor
Considering Jesus admonishes us again and again to love each other and that we are all alike to God, I can only guess that Jesus wept. Again.

Lgbt manga pt.1
If you had to put up with my sorry ass for a few years then yes you know that I have been searching for lgbt mangas!! I put up with the pain of going through most genres that sexualize/fetishize gender identities and sexualities (like yaoi and gender bender) and reading mangas to find if they have lgbt content so you dont have to suffer the pain of trying to! Clown on this post and please face my wrath
Keep in mind that these aren’t in order of ratings!! Its just a list. I also give summaries of the plot, the things that make it lgbt, and some content warnings!!
1. Welcome to Room #305! by Wanan
Kim Jung Hyun moves into an apartment (room #305) with a friend of a friend, named Kim Homo! Who (you guessed it) is gay! As Jung Hyung begins to live with Kim Homo, he slowly learns to accept him for his sexuality. Once he overcomes his homophobia and completely accepts him for who he is, other lgbt characters pop in too!! They all have their struggles with their identities, and it is very realistic, but the art style helps keep all that angst at bay! As far as english translations go, we have several lesbian characters, and a trans guy. You can read the english translation on several manga sites, but if you want the link to the original since this is a webcomic, here’s the [link]! Unfortunately english updates are very slow since translation teams have other projects, and legal companies who translate take their sweet precious time.
2. Bokura no Hentai by Fumiko Fumi
The title might seem misleading, however it can be translated as “Our Transformation”! Buckle up buttercup cause this manga will fuck you over emotionally. Three crossdressers meet up after being in a crossdressing group, with different reasons as to why they crossdress. Parou crossdresses to fall in love with a straight guy, Marika is actually a trans woman, and Yui crossdresses as his dead sister to “help” his mother with her grieving. There are some other characters who don’t fit within the gender norms!
Now let me tell you if you are dealing with some trauma and can’t handle very sensitive topics, this manga might not be the one for you. Although it isnt just homophobia and transphobia, it also contains content of sexual harrassment, pedophilia, and suicide. However these topics are not glorified or sexualized. They are trauma of some of the characters and they must learn how to overcome from it individually. However, there is a happy ending for them!! Please let that be known! I enjoyed reading it if sobbing your heart out counts as enjoying it, because it has indeed pulled my heart strings (although I am not a trans woman, I am a trans guy and I can identify with only some of the things Marika goes through, as trans women go through different experiences than trans men and have it harder on them.)
3. Hourou Musuko (Wandering Son) by Takako Shimura
This manga is one of the most well known mangas realistically depicting trans identity. It became popular when an anime adaptation came out! However the anime adaptation only covers the middle school part of our protagonists lives, however it encourages you to read the manga to find out what happens to them and their life! We have two protagonists. Shuichi who identifies as a girl, and Yoshino who identifies as a boy. Shuichi is the primary protagonist while Yoshino serves as a secondary protagonist.
This manga also realistically depicts how hard it is for transfeminine people to come out and be themselves while transmasculine people seem to have it easier (dont clown on this dear fuck). We have lesbian, gay, and genderfluid characters galore! Although they do have some touchy topics like transmisogyny and transphobia in general, it is less heavier than Bokura no Hentai.
Some people might not like the outcome of this story when it comes to Yoshino, however I am content with it because it shows that people should be able to explore their gender identity, and they are welcome to change it anytime as they see fit. Sometimes you won’t figure out your identity if you don’t explore.
4. Shimanami Tasagore / Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani
Also one of the more well known ones, the mangaka of this beautiful story is X-gender and asexual! It follows the protagonist, Tasuku is contemplating suicide as rumors circulate that he is gay at his highschool (he is). He sees a woman jumping off a building nearby and runs to her aid. Her name is Anonymous/Somebody and she sees herself is asexual but other than that she does not like labels, she invites Tasuku inside the building she just jumped off, which contains a group of exclusively lgbt characters.
We have both trans, lesbian, and gay people. We see their struggles. We see how they overcome it. We see how even we ourselves can harm others even if we’re both lgbt. Of course there is homohpobia, transphobia, etc. however it is all handled perfectly and we get the satisfaction of these characters speaking up for either themselves or for each other. I also love Anonymous simply because she doesn’t like labels and chooses not to use them (excluding the asexual part). Not everyone whos part of the lgbt community has a label, however they are still a part of us!
5. Fukakai na boku no subete o (Fukaboku)/ Love me for who I am by Konayama Kata
Fukaboku is a very special manga to me, as it goes in depth on gender identity and sexuality. There are two protagonists, Tetsu who is a cis guy and supposedly straight (we later find out that he is not), and Mogumo, who is both intersex and nonbinary.
Tetsu works as a chef at Question Cafe, and everyone employed in fanlations are called girlyboys, however in the official translation they use otokonoko which is anyone crossdressing as a girl regardless of their gender. There are plenty of transwomen, gay people, etc.! Tetsu falls in love with Mogumo, so he isn’t straight, however he isn’t explicitly gay because he recognizes Mogumo as what they identify as, nonbinary. It is safe to say that he could either be pan, bi, omni, etc. however we can’t confirm since it hasn’t been explicitly stated.
We learn how transfeminine people have certain struggles, like shoes that dont fit them, breasts, and voice feminization. We also have a dose of family struggles when it comes to Mogumo in later/current chapters.
Before you dm me, yes. Yes I know about the shit prequel. The prequel actually features a gay couple in fukaboku. I have read it. Reluctantly even if it was only 24 pages. However just because the prequel is shit does not mean we should cancel Fukaboku. There is a thing called being critical of the content you’re enjoying. If we treated it like cancel y because of x, then things like persona 4 and danganronpa would be cancelled, but lets not get into that.
6. Kanojo ni Naritai Kimi to Boku by Umi Takase
I haven’t heard of this one as much as I have the others, so I was very much pleased when I heard about this! There are two protagonist (yes there are a lot of lgbt mangas with two protags I’ve noticed too), Hime and Akira. Hime has a crush on Akira, who identifies as a girl. However this manga is also realistic, as Akira doesn’t fully ‘pass’ as a girl herself. Hime wants to do anything she can to help Akira feel comfortable on her first day of school wearing a girl’s uniform. Because of Akira being made fun of, Hime shows up to school in Akira’s male uniform to help Akira in solidarity.
Their teachers are fully aware of Akira’s situation, however instead of discriminating her they accept her. Their homeroom teacher helps Hime overcome her internal problem about lashing out at others who try to befriend Akira, and she slowly realizes that just because people can’t accept Akira straight away, they will slowly get used to her and come to terms with the fact that Akira is trans in their own time rather than have it being forced on them.
Hime and Akira make friends slowly and we see that even little things (like calling Akira cute and/or a girl) helps Akira, even if theyre small things we dont usually notice. Hime also struggles with her crush as she sees Akira as a girl, yet she cant accept the fact that shes attracted to girls.
Although Akira doesnt feel the same way as Hime does, she doesnt just like her as a friend, but also not as a lover either. Its safe to say that these two have a quasiplatonic relationship with each other.
7. Yuzu no Koto by Arai Shou
I have noticed that there are plenty of mangas with transfeminine characters as the focus, rather than transmasculine, so heres one for the transmasculines! Ichigo’s best friend Yuzu comes back to school, however he is enrolling as a boy! It is very humorous as Ichigo tries to understand and get used to her best friend’s new identity. Although it is slow as each chapter is a single page, it is hinted that Yuzu has a crush on Ichigo (or if thats just me squinting really hard).
8. Ohana Holoholo by Torino Shino
It is a story about two bi women who are ex-girlfriends, raising one of the women’s baby together as a little family! There is also an idol/actor who helps them out and visits them occassionally! If you want something warming and wholesome, this is the manga for you!!
9. My Androgynous Boyfriend by Tamekou
Wako, a woman who works for a publishing company is in a relationship with an androgynous/genderless man! Her boyfriend wears dresses, makeup, and is an instagram model! It is not necessarily treated as crossdressing. It is handled pretty well, and the chemistry between Wako and her boyfriend is very strong. They both love each other so much and help each other with their hobbies and interests. This is what a loving and healthy relationship is supposed to look like!!
10. Inside Mari by Shuzo Oshimi
It is debatable if this is actually considered lgbt, considered the circumstances, however I put it on this list because it shows how mental illnesses and disorders really feel to the person whos suffering from it. Please read throughout this whole section to understand why.
Inside Mari is about a man named Isao who stalks this young girl named Mari. He follows her back outside of a little convenience store, but when she turns back and looks at him he wakes up inside her body and doesn’t know how to cope with it. He tries to find Mari while putting on a facade and living as her. He meets a girl named Yori who instantly recognizes that Isao isn’t actually Mari from his mannerisms. This girl has had a crush on Mari, just like Isao. Isao tries to prove to Yori that he switched bodies, and when he goes to his apartment, he finds someone living as him, but it isn’t Mari.
The more we delve into this manga, the more we figure out exactly what happened to Mari and Isao. As Isao and Yori visit and retrace his steps, Isao gets flashbacks to memories of Mari. Isao soon realizes that he isn’t actually the real Isao, but a introject of Isao, and that Mari actually has DID because of childhood trauma. The ending is bittersweet, as Mari comes back but Isao unfortunately becomes dormant/disappears since I don’t think what happened was them merging.
11. Seibetsu "Mona Lisa" No Kimi He by Yoshimura Tsumuji
In the world, people can choose what gender they want to be when they’re 12. When they’re 14 their appearance corresponds to their gender. Hinase however, is 18 years old and they still haven’t chosen a gender. They prefer to be neither. However when their two best friends suddenly confess to them, their hormonal development suddenly starts to increase.
Imagery and symbolism is very clear in this manga!! As we revolve around the color blue/cyan and the debate and interpretations of Mona Lisa’s gender. I’m very hopeful that Hinase will stay as nonbinary rather than choosing a gender, simply because both of their best friends confessed and asked them to become the opposite gender to be with them. It is very much hinted that Hinase will be in a romantic relationship with their male best friend however. I love this manga simply because the protagonist doesn’t want to identify as either male nor female.
12. Jun And Kaoru: Pure And Fragrant by Neiki Zui
Jun and Kaoru have a special condition, by midnight they both switch genders. Because they both have this condition, they hang out with each other and help each other with clothing, etc. It should be addressed that these two do not have the “I wish to be a girl/boy” etc. The problem that they have though is their growing crush on each other. They are either genderqueer, or genderfluid, or whatever you prefer since it isn’t directly stated within the manga. They’re not cis or straight! It is a very fun and comedic love story and I wish to see further updates on it!!!
13. Sakura-Chan to Amane-Kun by Asazuki Norito
This story revolves around Sakura who identifies as a girl and Amane who identifies as a boy. Amane spots Sakura dressed as a girl and instantly recognizes her, however instead of belittling her he asks her out on a date, only if she goes as a girl. During school however, they have to pretend to be the gender theyre assigned with while not interacting with each other.
Since there is a lot more but I dont want to break tumblr, I will be making a part 2 and I’ll post it tomorrow!

A heart on your hands, blood dripping down your fingers and your mouth, sacrifice is the ultimate honor. Gold and jewels, decadency, how devine it is to be solid, to walk amongst your people and feel at home. Destruction, smoke, loss. War is bitter on your mouth and death clings to your heart, heavy and full of guilt. The taste of pulque, the smell of home made cooking, the sound of too many people in a small room. Staying in the corner, observing from a distance, being and yet not quite belonging. A hand begging held, ying and yang, the night brings comfort and so does the darkness. You’ve been king and beggar, powerful and miserable, now you are happy, at last.

【 IN DEPTH BIO 】
It started with the first duality, Ometeotl created you along with the others. A pantheon born into an infinite cosmos, the universe a playground to explore. Quetzalcoatl was your first friend, your first love, your first connection. With him you went to the edge of the universe and then some, with him you went on adventures and got in trouble and to him you trusted your very life.
It was one of your adventures that led to the creation of the World, luring a monster by baiting it with your own flesh. How fun it was to see the beast come from the depths, all teeth and thirst for blood. You became acquainted with sacrifice then, as you lost your foot to the jaws of Cipoctli before you and Quetzalcoatl pulled it apart limb by limb, creating the Earth and the Skies above. The other Gods were horrified and made sure every part of the body of the creature who had given it’s life for the sake of this new creation was used, turned into something new and beautiful.
This new world you populated, with giants that you made from the Earth itself, moulded them with your hands, watching them live in this world you’ve gifted them, for 676 years your creations lived under your watchful eye. La Era del Primer Sol. You ruled over them on your own until Quetzalcoatl came to throw you from the skies, into the depths of the waters. You came out a jaguar, rage filled and destroying that which you once had loved, giants crumbling to dust leaving an empty world that Quetzalcoatl wanted to populate.
You watched as he created, monkey-man made of wind. La Era del Segundo Sol began with Quetzalcoatl’s laughter and how could you be mad at him when he shone so beautifully in the sky above? But his time too had to come to an end and after 675 years, you blew strong winds that made the creatures disappear into nothing, ending the rule of your love.
La Era del Tercer Sol started with Tlaloc’s creation, monkey men this time made of water, beautiful but unstable, they wandered the Earth under his watch and as he left to rule the Skies, he left behind a wife....Xochiquetzal was gorgeous, breath taking and you wanted her. If Tlaloc wouldn’t have her, why couldn’t you? With lovely words and a tight grip you stole her and you loved her, a pretty butterfly in a cage for you to admire. And Tlaloc’s era ended after 364 years, with fire and brimstone that Quetzalcoatl made fall from above.
It was then that Chalchiuhtlicue took his place. La Era del Cuarto Sol was for fish-men made of fire and you observed aching for the power you once had, for the sense of duty and the adoration of your people. You were busy with your eyes elsewhere and Quetzalli was stolen from under your nose, set free by Ixotecuhtli, who made her his bride. You didn’t fight it, as the rain poured down on Earth, drowning the fish men, turning them into fish, the end of an era after 312 years and now....What would happen?
Amongst the Gods were the talks, of the new age to come and how to rule it, of the best way to build men, of who the Sun of the world should be. Tecuciztécatl offered themselves and everyone chose Nanahuatzin. A sacrifice on fire and Tonatiuh came to be, rising from the ashes. La Era del Quinto Sol started with sacrifice.
The question then was how would men be made. The elements have failed them before so they had to look somewhere else. Mictlan was the place to go, the bones of the ancestors would be moulded into the new beings, Quetzalcoatl would have to go, along Xolotl. The bones would be crushed and the Gods would give their blood to create human kind. And so it was, and the World came to be, you ruled with the rest of your pantheon, taking care of human kind, accepting their sacrifice, loving your people.
When the time came for you to take your place amongst humanity, Quetzalcoatl wasn’t there so you waited and your people waited. When humans made from other Gods came to steal everything your people had, they mistook them as Gods and you could do nothing. When the fighting started you tried but without Quetzalcoatl you were incomplete. There was no winning against these people who carried guns and sickness. You suffered, as your people suffered, begged for the forgiveness of the death. Stayed on Earth with them trying to fight at every chance you got against the tyranny of the conquistadores.
They forgot your name, stopped believing, the faith in you grew weaker and weaker and the grief was too much to carry. You wandered the world a ghost of yourself, waiting for something, expecting nothing. But the whispers of your name made you stay alive, you clung to your people, granted them favours, stole and took from churches and white men. You ate their hearts without mercy and with your power you gave what you could to your people.
And Quetzalcoatl finally came back. In an Era where you were no longer needed, where you could not take back the throne for someone else was sitting upon it, strong and undefeated. The scar tissue of what was lingers but you’ve grown to accept your fate, you worry that your love won’t ever move on.
