This is gonna sound weird but I had a very vivid fever-induced dream about Pangur. I was standing in a lake surrounded my forests and mountains at night. The moon was so bright but there were no stars. And then Pangur came over the mountain but she was so long like Falkor Neverending Story and she had so many legs and big sad eyes downturned like a 20s movie star and big purple eyelashes.

She was circling around me in the sky like some majestic sky worm and said in a voice that sounded like Helen Mirren “it’s 20% off on Wednesday”. I kept asking her what was 20% off but she kept saying things like “it’s a good deal for a Wednesday” and “you should take the offer while it’s hot”.

So anyway I’m taking that as a sign to buy something stupid that’s 20% off on Wednesday thanks Pangur

this seems like an elaborate way of getting me to do a 20% off sale but okay, I'll bite!

what if i wrote a “shen yuan transmigrates into a wife” oneshot but the whole premise is based on the song “gone, i’m gone” from hadestown and its overall theme is wanderlust and freedom and it starts out as Shen Yuan settling into life in the palace and trying to avoid harem drama and thinking he can just live with his head down for the rest of his new life, only to be hit with a sudden intense yearning to explore his new world the likes he’s never felt before. What if he was sickly in his last life. What if he spent his entire last life indoors. Trapped between four walls. What if love is not a gilded cage. What if he begins clawing at the walls of his enclosure, desperate to escape because he wants to live, god please let him live. He can’t do this again. What if he spent months preparing for his escape and in that same breath getting the attention of some of the other wives around him because he has changed and it makes them wary. what if he got binghe’s attention as he is wont to do. What if he left. What if Shen Yuan was born with a bottomless pit in his stomach and a gaping maw in his chest. What if he was starving. What if he was starving for the world around him. Solas and Lavellan's reunion got to me, it's the first time they've seen each other in person since Trespasser, they're sharing the same space, they could reach out and actually feel the other there, the feelings are still very much present

But, the thing I just realized is that Solas and Lavellan probably didn't have shared dreams since the night before the ritual, before he got trapped in the regret prison. And those dreams most likely returned as soon as Solas slept again after escaping the prison.

Imagine Lavellan, meeting Solas in her dreams almost every night for years and years. Until one night, it just stops. She knows he started the ritual, the Fade tears appeared, but he clearly did not succeed, and for a few days, she doesn't know what happened. All she has is a wolf statuette that appeared out of thin air (and latter on, she finds a letter from him from before the ritual).

She learns that Rook, Varric's new friend, has a connection with Solas now, who is trapped in the Fade, and somehow their minds are linked. That's all she has as a reassurance for months and months that he's still alive.

And then, one day, after the events at Tearstone island, she goes to sleep, and Solas is there, he's back, her dreams have a wandering wolf once more.

So Lavellan knows that Solas is free perhaps even before rumors of his actions at Minrathous start flying around.

Maybe Solas starts avoiding sleep and/or her dreams after that; maybe he lingers in the outskirts, not being able to flee from her after being unable to see her for so long; who knows. But they had to have met in their dreams at least once in that window of time between the events at Tearstone Island and the Archon's palace

The reason there is a question mark is because with cdramas you never know when one will be shelved forever (due to topic or an actor being in trouble) or when the makers just decide to keep it on the shelf for...reasons (there is a drama premiering on Dec 10 that was completed in 2018!). This is a little head cannon/What if Macaque had more original powers, a little more Starry Night dreamlike powers leaning into the more nurturing kind, you know, the moon and sun kind of powers? 🌙☀️

 

Maybe in the past, he was like a therapy friend to Wukong, someone he could really be himself with, vent, and tell his secrets without being judged in the safety of his own dreams. Someone he can truly trust, and that was Macaque.

Now he's a therapy friend to the whole MK team! (Against his will) They cuddle, pet, and vent to him with their problems. He's like one of Sandy's therapy cats, just bigger and grumpier.😾💕✨ he just has this way with people I guess

Okay, this is how it starts: Macaque and Wukong's first encounter was in a dream.

Wukong would not shut up about the pretty demon in his crazy dreams, often to his sworn brothers; he talked about all the fun and crazy adventures he'd have, the long meaningful conversations and jokes, and the occasionally moving pictures of otherworldly strong magical humans with sparkly eyes and spiky hair who wield giant weapons that shoots Fire called anime, and that this had been going on for a few months now.

This annoyed and concerned them; they think it's a demon trying to take over the Monkey King's mind or trying to brainwash him somehow, so Azure Lion and the Sworn Brothers all brainstormed together to devise a plan to somehow confront this tricky dream demon. Wukong doesn't want the fun dreams to end or scare off this other celestial monkey, so he decides to talk to his friend in his dreams. Wukong casually brings up the idea that the macaque should visit Flower Fruit and meet his sworn brothers! Macaque of course hesitates, not sure of the idea of traveling to an unknown island and meeting The Monkey King's questionable choice of sworn brothers, but of course, Wukong, sad and a bit offended, but he doesn't give up.

He decides to bring upon the Ultimate Weapon, begging and whining until Macaque crumbles and gives in, which eventually does. Mac reluctantly agrees to travel over to FFM in disguise, just to be safe he tells Wukong he'll be there. Within a month, Wukong couldn't be more excited; he was like a little kid waiting for Christmas day!

So this is what kinds of powers I think he should have.

😴 the first pic is crossing over to other people's dreams and making their experience life-like he has illusion magic so this makes sense to me. Wukong and macaque would prank the Brotherhood or play tags and hide and seek in their brother's dreams. 🌸The second pic is the soothing ability to calm one's nerves if they pet or cuddle him like a therapy cat,🐈 Wukong would groom him for hours to calm his nerves. now come copes with food🍑🍔🍭

At the end of every dream Mac visits they would end it by dancing to music Mac would bring from the future laughing and stumbling while wukong slowly wakes up, wukong has always gone to bed early But now he goes even earlier to bed. Wukong always thought he was the luckiest monkey in the world he gets to have two Adventure and one of them is with his prettiest best friend Macaque 😚✨the monkey of his dreams.
