Don Bluth was going to do an animated Dracula!? And Beauty and the Beast? F--k. Can someone please still do this? The man's eighty seven, bring him on as producer and story consultant and get this going. I'd watch the Hell out of an animated musical Dracula in the style of Hunchback. Hell, adapt the Frank Wildhorn Dracula musical. There, you have the script, just animate it.

Hyperfocused the shit out of this one so I got through it quite fast haha. I was too inspired when that Dracula musical circulated back onto my dash and I was like HOLD UP

The Dracula Musical is infinitely funnier and more engaging if you approach it from the POV of Dracula and Mina playing 4D chess strategy of them faking feelings for one another in order to service their own plans: Dracula to use Mina to keep tabs on Jonathon in case he spills the beans, and Mina to lull Dracula into letting his guard down.

(During the entire song “Loving You Keeps Me Alive”, I imagine Mina just utterly confused before slowly catching on and goes along with it in order to get an advantage.)

However, Dracula catches genuine feelings and a conscious due to this strategy. Even still, Mina kills him without ever losing herself and she happily returns to Jonathon to live happily ever after.

Random thought: I'm a fan of Frank Wildhorn's Dracula the musical (I saw it on Broadway with my mother back in 2004) and when the play went to Tokyo in 2011 or so, Wao Yoka (a woman who plays male roles) played Dracula. She was fantastic. She ended up marrying the composer.

I think if an English language production was done with the same gender-swap style as Japan, Kathryn Hahn would make for an excellent Dracula!

We already know she can sing and it would be a fun Easter Egg since she plays Dracula's wife in the Hotel Transylvania movies (from the third movie onward).
