i unboxed my 3rd batch (1st batch, 2nd batch) of three-body merch earlier this week, and finally got some energy to take some photos. i mainly bought this batch for that acrylic stand of the manhua version of shiwang which i'm very happy with.

i just gotta support shiwang agenda in every form of media, and i adore this pose of smug!dashi wrapping his arm around grumpy!miaomiao LOL. someone on weibo even drew our tv show version of shiwang in this pose (but they are both smiling of course. it's also not a cigarette in dashi's mouth, but rather a lollipop because miaomiao doesn't allow him t smoke lol. and the artist kept the manhua height difference lol).

originally i thought it only came with the center piece, but it also came with these two nice background pieces with scenes from the manhua. the background pieces also have printing on the back of them, so you can even appreciate the stand from its back.

the manhua is different from both the novel and the show, but i think the background pieces show the part where wang miao and shi qiang are drinking and eating in the little diner right after wang miao saw universe flicker. and miaomiao is telling him how he saw shen yufei and pan han (the woman and man on the right background piece) who asked him stop his research. when he refused, they warned him that he'd see the countdown on a bigger scale.

here's a bunch of other stuff that i also bought, lots of pins and bookmarks lol. i decided not to show off the droplet pin because it was too shiny, and there's no way to avoid the reflection of my hands holding my phone lol. also i really like the zhang beihai and space force pin set.

the last photo is the sticker set i bought. i actually wasn't even going to show them to you because it's just a stack of silly stickers. but after i looked at them closely, i think the designs are pretty nice. they are cartoonish, but still cool!

my next batch will be for that book called "the moments" which is about the production of season 1 of three-body. that is definitely a must have! this book is now in pre-sale stage, and i think shipping should start around late september or early october. i'm very looking forward to it!

i can't believe three-body community did this to us...their weibo account just posted a video called 三体中的BE美学. BE means bad ending in cfandoms, so this basically means "the beauty of the tragic endings in three-body". the background music they used is a piece called "two different worlds". AND THE FIRST PAIR THEY PUT IN THE VIDEO IS SHIWANG as shown in the gifs (i didn't edit the gif, so bear with the quality).

my heart is bleeding. i actually don't know how to face it when they show us miaomiao and dashi preparing to say goodbye to each other before dashi goes into the hibernation pod in the spinoff show. that will be too gut wrenching to me. but at the same time, i'm glad that yang lei being a big shiwang supporter himself will give us the closure that is not in the novels.

i think well written tragedies will actually make something more appealing and memorable in some way. people also won't stop giving them alternative endings to fix it for them. the fact that three-body is scifi makes it even better because we just have so much freedom to change the BE (bad ending) to HE (happy ending) for shiwang <3.

zhang luyi's weibo studio has been posting photos and videos from the film festival every day since the 25th...im like...man, i appreciate that. but I'm not used to this frequency 🥲. you should have been updating three times a year, not three times a day...im too old and tired to keep up 🫠😉, and I'm sure nobody here wants me to spam them with everything, so I'm actually only picking out a few things to post here...

so i was watching the livestream of the press conference at first international film festival.

someone asked zhang luyi how having a major in directing influenced his acting. and he first talked about his directing background and how he still needed to act when studying directing, then, he was like, "i can't really say how directing affects my acting concretely."

at this exact moment, there was this one word popping up in my head: 潜移默化

one second later, zhang luyi: 我觉得这种影响应该是潜移默化的
