Wait a minute… couldn’t fifteen have just popped over to the noble house and asked fourteen for a lift real quick or would that have been too awkward?

no but the pilot episode of og doctor who is so funny because it is literally just two british schoolteachers threatening to call cps because they think the doctor is keeping his granddaughter in a box so the doctor just decides to fucking kidnap them and then they get lost in time and space because this ancient bastard hasn’t known how to pilot his time machine since day one

I ship ninerose as a very messy rom-com that happens to involve one of them becoming a God and tenrose entirely and exclusively as a tragedy. No happy ending for them. I also ship tentoo/Rose with all of my heart as the happy ending that it is. (I also ship ElevenRose, TwelveRose, and ThirteenRose completely on the basis of Bad Wolf!Rose reunion potential.) Does that make sense?

Age 25: Wow, I was so fucking cringe, I am embarrassed at myself, ew, I'm glad I grew up

Can we talk about how Kate didn't use the 'Lethbridge' part of her name to avoid nepotism but in season 14 she refers to herself as 'Kate Lethbridge-Stewart' when speaking against Sutekh??
She's commander and chief of unit and no longer has to worry about anyone considering her a product of her father's achievements.

most characters go through a time loop and get character development
The 12th doctor stayed in his time loop for a few billion years and was so stubborn he BEAT character development

Honestly, Flux is a genuinely underrated storyline. Aside from a fumbled ending and trying to cram too much storyline into too short a season (it should have been 10 episodes minimum), it's pretty fun.
Is it the best arc in Doctor Who history? No, but we got some really fun stories like Halloween Apocalypse and Village of the Angels and the concepts are very strong.
Also Thasmin, we will always appreciate Thasmin in this house.

OKAY i just want to scream about the Fifteenth Doctor for a sec!! 🔥

spoilers for Joy to the World (the 2024 Doctor Who Christmas special); read at your own risk!!
so many thoughts about this fun, goofy, absurd episode and what a good old-fashioned Doctor Who romp it is, but i desperately want to talk about that harrowing scene where the Doctor purposefully angers Joy. to preface, my favourite Doctors are Six and Eleven. i love my Doctor with a little mean, arrogant streak, so seeing Fifteen's bright, cheery, complimentary façade slip away into overt malice was so much fun, and Ncuti does it so well!!! even though we all knew he was trying to break the Villengard's hold on Joy, getting to see his capacity for cruelty, grandiosity and harm is my favourite thing about the character. and it's one of the things that stands out about Moffat's characterisation of the Doctor: he isn't afraid to write him as an alien being with powers who could hurt us if he decided it was for our own good. the revelation that the Doctor was able to say those nasty things about Joy with such realistic venom because it's how he feels about, and treats, himself...ouch. this many regenerations in and Fifteen is just as mixed-up and angry as he's always been, but with a fresh wave of losses weighing heavily on his ancient mind. the Doctor always feels the most interesting to me when he's preoccupied with his own responsibilities not dealing with it well...because that's what makes his companions, and humanity as a whole, matter. when you think about the best companions and human characters in the show, they are always the ones who are able to make the Doctor pause and take stock in the middle of his (extremely understandable) moral crises. the ones who can say, 'yeah, what you've gone through is seriously messed up, but here's how i carry on. here's why you should keep living'. that's why the Doctor keeps coming back to us: we're an emotional anchor for him in a way it seems no other species is. both Joy and Anita showed the Doctor new ways of continuing on even when he's feeling so much loss after Ruby's departure...and i really want a companion who can challenge the Doctor's self-hatred in a constructive way, while we see how the Doctor really feels beneath that mask. just!!!! so many thoughts about Fifteen!! is it bizarre that i vastly prefer his portrayal in Joy to the World and Boom compared to, say, The Legend of Ruby Sunday and Empire of Death? it's possible i do just enjoy the way Moffat writes the Doctor in general, but god, when it's the Doctor i want his age and the enormity of his emotional burden to come across 😭💖

i want an episode of doctor who where someone important to the doctor dies and all the pain and heartbreak of all their lives piles up and they get so broken and so full of hate that this keeps happening and why can’t they just be happy and why is the universe so cruel that they turn evil and then while out and about being evil and not giving a fuck about saving people they run into the master and the master is shook that the doctor has changed bc how? that’s impossible the doctor and the master are opposing forces! it’s their whole dynamic now everything’s out of balance! and so they make it their mission to show the doctor how much good there is in the universe and the doctor is cold and harsh and vulnerable and heartbroken but the master whisks the both of them off on an adventure to demonstrate all the brilliant wonderful extraordinary happy parts of the universe but what finally gets through to the doctor is that it’s the master showing them all this. they’re so far gone that the master is trying to fix them. and they realise that the both of them have more in common than they think and that they can see it from each other’s perspectives. and then they kiss

8 episode season, very little character/dynamic development, hugely powerful villain and conflict only to solve it easily and with no consequences, massive buildup to the overarching season mystery only for it to be incredibly anti-climactic.... quite disappointing
