Also of note the Big announcement video released as part of Disney investing $1.5 Billion into Epic games has Footage from Frozen 2 in it. So there's a chance Epic might be putting Frozen content into Fortnite or possibly could get working on a frozen game of some kind.

Kingdom Hearts changed me (Storytime)

While I was drawing, I don't know… I felt like I needed to say what I felt about the Kingdom Hearts license and my art of drawing.

My beginnings, my entry into art school, my graduation diploma

I started to doodle like everyone else when I was a kid, I only started to draw seriously around the age of 8/9 because I was part of a drawing association in my hometown, I started to draw related to video games around 2006 when Zelda Twilight Princess came out on Wii, this game was a big turning point for me because it was one of the first iconic licenses with the character of Link, really I only drew him at the time x). I entered art school when I was 14 because I wanted to become an illustrator (and I still dream of making a living from my art). I didn't have a very good year in the Illustration section because there was already competition between the students who were very gifted in drawing who looked down on the students who were struggling a little too much. I was right in the middle of the people who knew how to draw but who had difficulties and I already had my manga style which was very badly seen at the time. One of my teachers told me "manga is not art". I hated this teacher (spoiler: I still hate her today). The teachers helped the students who were struggling without any more help. I had average or terrible grades because either I couldn't do it or the theme they gave me didn't inspire me. Sometimes I didn't hand in an assignment. It was not easy at all when you had to submit a ton of drawing assignments every 3 weeks outside of general classes, when you came home from school at 6pm, when you were forced to follow a realistic drawing style, when you were not taught the basics of drawing (anatomy, perspective, etc.). I changed departments to go to Computer Graphics and get my graduation diploma. After my studies, I drew from time to time when I had inspiration, whether on paper or on a graphics tablet.

The discovery of Kingdom Hearts

I discovered the license via Birth by Sleep on PSP, my boyfriend had offered me the game during an outing. I very quickly stopped playing it because I found the game too hard x), I stopped towards the beginning of the game with Ventus. And I didn't touch a game of the license again until 2018 with the first compilation of games on PS3 KH 1.5, I discovered for the first time the first Kingdom Hearts game I had really advanced in the game I had even reached the last level "The End of the World", but I stopped because I had not done enough farming xD, the enemies really did a lot of damage to me, so it very quickly demotivated me and I could not finish the game. A few months later Kingdom Hearts III was released, the trailers shown at E3, etc ... really made me want to because I LOVE Disney, it was the only argument for me to buy the game. x) So I bought the game and I finished it ... and .... even if I had not understood anything about the story, I had liked the game for its Disney universes and for its gameplay. In 2022 I rediscovered all the KH games in compilations on my PC, an acquaintance did regular lives on the KH games after the Kingdom Hearts IV trailer. It made me want to do some too. So I bought KH 1.5 + 2.5 on the epic game store and off I went to do my own marathon. And what a discovery OH MY GOD ! It was just incredible ! It was on this occasion that I finally finished the first Kingdom Hearts, that I discovered Chain of Memories that I didn't finish because I HATE THE GAMEPLAY OF THIS GAME but that I redid this year in 2024, I gave the game a second chance and even if I admit that I'm still not a fan of the gameplay I understood the game better and well now I like this game ! The total discovery of Kingdom Hearts II which was a crazy adventure ! I continued with the theater mode of 358/2 days & Re:coded and replayed and finished all the stories of Birth By Sleep. I then bought KH 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue & Melody Of Memory with once again the total discovery of the games. Overall very good games, and that's how I really started to like the Kingdom Hearts license, and which became my favorite license, despite the criticism because many people find its story complicated to understand. In the meantime I discovered the cinematics of the mobile games Kingdom Hearts Back Cover | Chi | Union Cross | Dark Road and I recently played KH Re:coded & KH 358/2 days on emulator, And in truth it was really cool to have played these games.

A new icon : Sora

When I discovered Kingdom Hearts II, I was totally blown away by Sora's character design, this version of Sora started to inspire me to start drawing again. In 2022 it was the 20th anniversary of the series, after moving to a new region, I was motivated to make a drawing for the 20th anniversary of the European release of Kingdom Hearts (November 15th). I started by making my drawings in July to finish it in November before the deadline. I made 3 illustrations of Sora from KH, KHII & KHIII, it was not perfect but it was a good start to get back into drawing. From January 2023 I started to have a regular rhythm to draw, over the months I started to see a big improvement in my drawings (especially this year in 2024). The character of Sora also made me get back into cosplay after a one-year break in this environment! This character inspires me so much! he has become so important to me. In addition to being endearing, he is always there to put a smile on people's faces, to be in a good mood, to always think of others and to know how to show his true strength when necessary. In short, not a day goes by without an idea coming to my mind around the Kingdom Hearts license.

Creepy and spooky cartoons of my youth (2)

Now we get into the real thing! The actual "creepy cartoons" that shaped who I am today! (As I said before by "creepy cartoons" I range both cartoons intending to be creepy for kids, or kid media that just happens to have a "creepy" motif to it)

Starting with Extreme Ghostbusters. I never watched the original Ghostbusters cartoons, just the movies and this epic series. After seeing it a few times as a kid but then losing all traces of it and wondering if it was not all just a fever dream, I found it back in its entire glory on the Internet (I even got to check into the Patreon of the guy who designed the monsters of the show!). This show introduced me to a... LOT of things let's say

You might recognize the artstyle/animation style as being somewhat similar in terms of creature designs to the one used in the cartoon series based on "Jumanji", which itself was quite a piece of creepy children media:

Much more European this time: "My Grandmother is a Witch"! I had this cartoon on VHS and it was one of my early faves. You probably never heard of it, because it is a French cartoon (Ma grand-mère est une sorcière), so a brief recap for you: a teenage witch lives with her granny witch in a cursed and haunted forest right next to a modern-day town. She has a best friend who is a geek tech-gadget-genius, bizarre goblinoid Gremlins-like pets, an "uncle" who is a vampire living in another dimension populated by monsters... And the cartoon is about her various adventures or misadventures being a witch trying to live next to regular humans in a modern world (with the twist being that the humans are often freakier or more insane than the witches themselves - though the witches do regularly indulge in monster-creations and spell-fights in the city causing regional panick and disasters)

More famous for an English-speaking audience, and even dearer to my heart: Martin Mystery. Does it need any presentation? Designed to be a "horror show for kids" inspired by the X-Files, monster hunters fiction and many horror pieces of all sorts. Part of an unofficial trilogy with "Totally Spies" and "Team Galaxy". One of the manifestations of Europe's 2000s obsession with making anime-styled cartoons. Contains some of the coolest monster designs ever.

Another European reference - I had a certain soft spot for the "Jibber Jabber" cartoon which despite the uncanny of the "early age" 3D animation, still had a premise I quite loved (and similar to Mona the Vampire) of children living their actual games like entire fictional worlds... Except "Jibber and Jabber" lacks the the weird insanity angle of Mona the Vampire. I mean unlike Mona who can be read as a psychotic kid harassing poor strangers for no reason, Jibber and Jabber are just two kids playing within the confines of their own house and solely bothering their sister and their dog. It is a bit more wholesome X)

Due to the narrative, the show explored various fictional worlds, but I include it here due to the two "horror" recurring universes - the one where the kids play a mad doctor and his "Igor", and the one where they are vaguely-Victorian monster hunters.

I can't go on without dropping Tutenstein. For a kid into mummies and Egyptian mythology, this was a welcome cartoon (I think it aired somewhere in the morning when I first caught its existence, summer mornings). I was quite shocked when I learned the same man designed the monsters for both this show and "Extreme Ghostbusters". But in retrospective I probably shouldn't be that surprised...

I am pretty certain I forgot one cartoon I really wanted to talk about... I could speak about some of the creepy Looney Tunes or Disney shorts, but I feel that would be an easy way out... And I could speak of some favorite French shows of mine whose insane, weird and psychedelic style led to some nightmare fuel for kids (like Ratz, or Space Goofs) but I already pulled a cheat card like this one in my previous post...

Oh well if I ever recall, I'll share it in a reblog. Already that's quite a selection for you to appreciate, if you ever want to search for kid-friendly, animated Halloween treets.

Gotta speak my truth.

A reason why the passion has dwindled on this blog, why I've sought other avenues. It hasn't really been the drought of content as much as the issue in what's already here. In short, it's the new angle of SQ's direction with the KH series that leaves me uncertain.

It all begins with a game called KH3, moreso, how it really feels like it was a title that didn't care about itself in terms of a grand finale or the fans who wanted a solid conclusion before a new chapter.

I genuinely dislike it with a whole lot of my heart.

I'll dip into why down below! Stick around for the ride if ya like.

I've sat here across the years genuinely contemplating it. Seeing people heavily defend it (myself too at one point), though who abhorred it for seeing things sooner (or just took it too far.) Had discussion with friends and it truly clicked to me what bothered me so much with the KH3 title.

It genuinely does not give a fuck. In a bizarre way, this is the first time I've seen a video game, even with it's complicated history that's just so utterly prepared to be finished with itself.

What struck me the most about this is how done it was with dealing with Xehanort as an antagonist. Bringing no connection with him to the worlds, or to the main cast, how he was simply relegated to the hurdle that had to be surpassed. This in kind extends to the heroes dealing with him too, that remains connected. So that brings the question, what did warrant all of their attention?

Verum Rex and Union X. Two aspects which are vividly 'new'-, the more exciting, new grounds to no longer have to bring concerns with the current epic that was being made.

The way these things were shoo'd in at the expense of the characters and the wonder of the KH world really miffs me. So much of the actual effort was made in turning KH3 into a springboard FOR these concepts, the new beginning and it allows for the keyblade war to be entrenched in a piss poor execution.

Another aspect I'd love to really dive on, being a Sora blog, is Sora's particular journey. This holds a firm eye towards the Disney worlds and mixing it with the cast of characters in there, and the KH originals. You can entirely omit the Disney journey and have literally nothing change. From the moment you hop from Yen Sid's tower, to the moment you go and save Aqua, this part of the game from the story perspective is entirely pointless. To those who care about the story. To those who CARE about disney 1 for 1's (like singing Let it go in new graphics fml), who are more concerned about the shiny new Verum Rex (vs XIII reboot) or the perspective of the Union X things, it'd be a fine enough meal.

I want to actually dig into why however. It's a simple angle, they don't care about his current goals in lieu of bringing shiny new worlds in akin to jingling car keys. The goal of finding a means to bring Roxas back, and in order to draw back the Power of Waking that found itself lost in DDD.

Both of these don't require external adventures. It needs insight, it needs the retracting of old grounds, and I'm damn sure that the perspective of Disney was not going to allow for that. So on this front unless a heavy push was warranted, I genuinely wouldn't of seen it changing. How are you going to find clues for Roxas in Arendelle for example?

Unless Sora has more Heart related ventures after each world, what in the fuck was this roaming going to do to unlock the power of waking again? A journey to find something important in KH is usually coupled by heavy character development, a way they come to re-look at how they see the surrounding world, their situation and themselves. The fact that a completely unrelated situation from Sora, despite his caring nature was the trigger to unlocking this.

For Ventus's disembodied heart to say it was always there was a pitchfork through the heart of this.

The fact that they've always said that recovering this power was essential for saving Aqua, when you literally can hop in and kick her butt, prompt no connection of ripping corruption away or anything via the Power of Waking says more than enough. You genuinely see that by the end of a lot of main cast characters being nods to the audience, or bots made for exposition, they've outright abandoned these concepts before your eyes.

I genuinely could continue on but this has become bloated.

For the journey for the current cast, the premise of KH3 is perfect as an adventure and inevitable showdown, but the execution is atrocious (the raw lack of opposing parties facing each other, showcasing the threat of Xehanort set to end all reality), and would genuinely require an entire game overhaul. Again, the execution. This extends to so much of the story decisions, to a LOT of the gameplay (whole dif can of worms) on top of that. I've really needed to recognize this and really have my genuinely lens set on it, no other opinions diluting my opinion on the matter.

I can understand why people who KH3 has the laughing stock/joke of the series.

Recognizing this has felt refreshing to me. It gives me a more distinct image that down the line, I really don't mind taking a canon divergent perspective at all. The mythos of KH and so much it has built is a fever dream of the best proportions, I however, genuinely want to carry on that I tenderly love which has always been the try and true flame of this series. I won't let nostalgia blind me, nor the ~future excitement~ either.

My nostalgia and my value as a fan is worth something to me. Nomura and co genuinely have to begin cooking again for me to gamble in that corner again.

Troy Saga

Polites and Ody dialogue b/t Full Speed Ahead & Open Arms

after Warrior of the Mind

Cyclops Saga

before Polyphemus (so like the ship is docked on the new island and Odysseus is giving orders to his chosen men before they enter the cave <- a good foreshadowing to his orders in the Underworld)

the other songs transition so well with each other that i cannot bare to place dialogue b/t Remember Them and My Last Goodbye (but it is still here an an honorable mention!)

Storm Saga

Eurylochus and Ody dialogue before Storm (discussing/mourning Polites and possibly Ody hiding from his second in command that Athena left them)

small dialogue b/t Eurylochus and Ody again before Luck Runs Out

Circe Saga

more dialogue b/t Eurylochus and Ody after Puppeteer where Eury might try to confess again bc there’s no certainty that Ody will return, but Ody interrupts him again

maybe not dialogue but just Odysseus walking into the palace after Wouldn’t You Like (maybe even the doors open before he can knock). just some score or soundtrack playing before he enters the room where Circe resides

Dialogue b/t Eurylochus, Odysseus, and Circe after Other Ways (Circe providing Ody with instructions on where to go, Eury wanting to fight the witch and Ody holding him back, again adding to more tension in their dynamic)

Underworld Saga

before No Longer You: Eury and Ody dialogue again with Ody instructing his men to stay put (possibly some dialogue between Eury and the crew to show how far their faith has fallen in their captain)

quick dialogue between Eury and Ody after Monster with Ody ordering the crew to leave the Underworld (Eury asking about what the prophet said and Ody skirting around it <- Eury presses X to doubt again)

Thunder Saga

dialogue before Scylla between the crew and Ody on where they need to go. again, Ody skirts around Eury’s questions with the crew watching them very closely

no further dialogue necessary c the transitions are so good

Wisdom Saga

maybe some dialogue between Penelope and Telemachus before Legendary

OR keep Penelope haunting the narrative and have Telemachus talking to Argos before transitioning into Legendary (like the Disney Princess he is <3)

ANITMACHUS/SHARPWOLF DIALOGUE BEFORE LITTLE WOLF 👀👀👀👀👀 IT WOULD SAVE ME 🫠

maybe some dialogue b/t Athena and Telemachus before We’ll Be Fine 👀 just him being a nerd and geeking out about it (mirroring/paralleling Ody’s own fanboying from WotM)

some quick dialogue but mostly score following Athena while she walks through Mount Olympus and it ends with her being like “I need to speak with Zeus” before transitioning immediately into God Games

Vengeance Saga

this is mostly just to flesh out Calypso more, but maybe some dialogue between her and Ody before Not Sorry

maybe some silence with Ody on his raft that transitions into a flashback of a younger time where before even the Trojan War and it was just his friends against the world. AND THEN, we come back for Dangerous

and yeah those be my thoughts. like, can’t think of any other dialogue beats that would work in a way that doesn’t hinder the transitions Jorge made between the songs, but these ones are just ones i think about that would be fun to explore

ok so like u are in dream land right??? well :) it was taken over by capitalizm!!!!1 omg

you, (y/n) the SEXIEST freak in planet plopstar is almost crushed by one of those leg things on the haltmann works company star dream thingy ok? yea so you dodge that and like… there's a window or somethin and a guy falls out of there

you watch as he falls. he falls for like 10 minutes. but then he lands on the ground next to you and you hear a crumch.

"ow" the male says

"omg!!!!! are u ok" u ask the masculine man

"i think i broke my pelvurouscula" he says

"omg no……" u say and hold him gently. u have magic healing powers so u heal him

"gasp" he gasped. "i don't feel like dead anymore"

he gets up and u cant help but admire he. his beautiful egg shaped bod and wicked pinstripe suit. and his luscious hair and mustache.

"newayz my name is haltmann. max profitt haltmann" he said with not a trace of happy

"ok" he says. "i have to go home. bye"

he goes into his headquarters but u follow him. u keep talking to him "um so wat are u doing? i almost died" u frowned

"oh no" haltmann says. "did i accidentally park my plant on u"

"ya" u nod

"im so frickign sorry" haltmann starts crying. "i'm such trash i cant commit capitalizm without almost killing peopel"

u frown at the egg's sadness. "dont cry haltmann…" u say comfortationally

"no it's not okay i'm shaking and crying rn. i might throw up" haltmann starts crying

haltmann cries and opens his office door and runs in and throws himself onto his bed dramatically like a sad disney princess. u enter his office and hear some haunting lyrics…

"whats wrong" u ask

u get on his computer and start googling local therapists in dream land. "here's one," u say. "call them and see if they're accepting new patients"

haltmann gets his sexy cellphone out and calls the therapist. "hi mr. therapist, my name is max profitt haltmann and my friend (y/n) says i need therapy"

"ya we can take u in" says the therapit. "we will have u do an intake next month ok"

"n. next month." haltmann starts to tear up

u look at haltmann ernestly. "better late than never, haltmann… ur patience will be rewarded"

haltmann sighs haltmannly. "ok. we will do next month"

haltmann finishes scheduling his therapy appointment. u look at him with a pleased look on ur face. "that was kinda sexxy of u haltmann, working towards self care like that" u smirk and wink

haltmann blushes "haha yea i guess that is pretty sexy. um, not that i'm trying to be cool or anything" he stutters

"hey u can call urself sexy and cool all u want," u laugh. "ur epic even"

[Okay I am going to adress some serious things here, yes, I wrote some stuff I am not proud of. It was at a time I was going through my repressed memories of sexual abuse/forced sex/etc from when I was a child. Now yes some of the stuff was with characters that are 15 years old with adults.
