Tw: torture mentions
Is there any support groups for people of torture or torture survivors??? I've been looking around an all I can find are refuggee/immigration organizations, an I'm not either of those an would really not want to take those reasources away from the people who need them.
I'm thinking maybe I should start one American/an reffugge. I don't really want to sound like an asshole I promise I just cant find any groups that are not reffugee based. I just dont know where to host the group. What platforms are best for these type of things? I'm trying to keep everything digital due torture victims mostly having medical problems that limit them from traveling. I would use discord but its a bit hard to navigate. Does anybody still use Amino anymore ha ha.
Anyways if anybody knows any support groups or wants to help make one pls comment below!!!
I will have to make the group 18+ due to the nature of the group-torture. For safety reasons.

I hate when im complimenting someone who is physically disabled, or noticably at least. Like i give cute compliments often, like. "Omg she is so pretty!" Or "Do you think she thinks im cute-"
And the people who im surrounded by look at me in horror! Noticibakky disabled people derserve attention too! They are pretty and cute and humans (is it so hard for some to understand) and i can have crushes on them!! It does not make me weird or icky and it doesn't make those people feel any better when someone is saying that because of their disability, they can not be pretty.
I am heated, excuse me.

Chronic Pain Awareness month 1 am musings
A friendly reminder that doing anything fun in a disabled body takes SO much planning... (bathrooms? stairs? water? contingency plan for overheating? getting ADA seating wristbands just in case I can't be on my feet for a whole show? masks? profilactic COVID nasal spray? snacks? ear plugs?)
But most importantly HELP.
My people are so often silently caretaking and making things easier on me as I move through a day, even when I "seem fine," to save my limited capacity for as much joy as I can (read: standing, able bodied ppl loveeeee to stand lol).
Pacing, lots of water, breaks, stretching, sitting things out to rest instead, and slow-but-steady reconditioning are what makes doing all of the things possible for me right now. I am relieved to have figured out how to live better in a body that is often hostile over this last year or two, and am grateful af for my community, but DANG it's a lot of work to be alive and thriving under capitalism.

I hate doing this, but I'm swallowing my pride to ask for help again. For most of this year I've been in poor health, and I'm finally starting to get better! But unfortunately because of this I haven't been able to do more than commission work & my part time library job, which has covered my basic bills and kept me ahead of car repo but just barely at times.
I tried doordashing for a bit but the anxiety & my physical health at the time made it difficult to do & for me to keep up with. I'd just like some weight off my shoulders, so I can stop worrying so much and focus on my health and obligations, so I'm asking for help. I mainly want to catch up with my car bill + other little fees & debts too that I haven't been able to touch yet.
How to help:
-Commission me/buy patterns/donate via my ko-fi, I get the money that goes through Kofi immediately & directly so it's the best and easiest option
-Check out my etsy for patterns and physical goods as well
-share this post! It would mean the world to me to have this spread a little more.
I've got a goal counter up on my Kofi that I'll be updating over time too ! But also: take care of yourself first and foremost.

The Americans with Disabilities Act turns 34 years old on July 26! What exactly does it mandate?
The ADA prohibits discrimination against people who have a disability OR a history of a disabling condition (e.g. cancer), OR who are perceived as having a disability.
According to the ADA, a disability is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits the function of at least one bodily organ or the performance of at least one major life activity.

Living with Disabilities, want to start the new year off with a new season. Before explaining the new season, Katrina, the host of Living with Disabilities wants to say, that Living with Disabilities will pick up from where we have left off. As you all know how the holidays can be and they are pretty busy. So, Living with Disabilities does want to apologize for not continuing on the articles, they have been moved and will be coming to you in 2025. Season 11 will focus on various topics related to 2024, including our goal of featuring more individuals with disabilities on our podcast. We strongly encourage companies to contact Katrina to arrange interviews with their clients to have the clients reach out to her directly. This request arises from past issues, and we believe that allowing clients to communicate independently, rather than relying on a representative, will foster better interactions.

If you ever wonder why I disappear for weeks at a time, this is a main reason why. Also I’ve not been as active with drawing lately, more writing than anything else but if I promoted that here, my anxiety would go through the roof 🥲
