I finished the new Bravern show and after talking to a friend about Superbia I just had to doodle what his humansona would look like if he had one

okay, bc i have seen this argument alot now (and it also seems to be the view point of aonuma himself..) is that "zelda cant do everything link does bc whats the point then"

and i take personal offense on that bc its a stupid argument (in. my. very. personal. opinion.- not judging people for liking it. its a ME thing)

whats the point? its that its her. its still a different character, different in story, background, personality, but i WANT to play zelda and she can do everything link does, why does she have to be so restricted and be bend over backwards to find some new way to make her 'useful' when link gets to do basically everything no questions asked (the only thing thats hers is like .. sealing power and sacrificial maiden, which i find a little underwhelming to say the least), if theres no point to it why are there always modders that model swap link with someone else, and in that case it has even less impact bc its an artificial model swap with no changes to the story (which can and should still be different when its the vanilla game with a different protagonist... its still a different character), clearly theres joy in just the model being a different one- and that isnt even to mention the story possibilities, since, again, its stil a different character

if we ever (never ... i know who we are talking about here) get to play as ganondorf i want to him to be just as versatile and active as link is, if we got a point and click adventure game for him instead bc 'whats the point' id be disappointed too- you can find any sort of excuse/explanation for zelda to be singled out but the fact remains it tracks with how female characters are often treated, and that hits a very sore spot for me

i guess i am unfortunately one of those annoying people that want to see female characters be treated exactly the same as male characters, possibly bc i am myself afab but identify as agender and have a deeply personal dislike for anything 'traditional' feminine bc i cannot and never will be able to truly live as myself in real life, it influences all of my work, my work is as just as much as my opinion on this, very personal

and in line with my point about modding, i see theres joy in just beign able to play as her even if its like this, i get that, i also get it for the creative aspect (though that mechanic worries me even more for the future bc it really seems to be the path now that -freedom = good, linear anything = bad-) it is a different idea and its not like i cant see that value- im not trying be "right" either, just bc i have that opinion doesnt mean i need everyone to agree, its a very personal thing, if you like it good for you! not for me though, and i think both of that is equally valid

i just personally wish she was allowed to be just like link, fight just like him but be different bc its still her and not him in the end- to be physically/playstyle like jsut like him, but you know ... as her, i dont think shed stop being zelda if she could wield a sword just like him

i dont really know how to get my point/feelings across, i dont want to step too much into personal stuff nor spam people with something that ultimately doesnt interest me alot, im just saddened by it really

(EDIT: bc i forgot to add this on here again; this isnt as much of a problem as it might sound like here, just the main topic i wanted to talk about; why im so uninterested in it is MAINLY bc i dont trust them to write anything interesting/care about lore anymore after totk, im always on the more pessimistic side that thinks its most likely worse than id hope and i know even the past games arent perfect or super interestingly written, but now its much more just a general distrust, together with everything like the price ... im just much less hopeful and cant get excited until i see more of it, like im waiting for the game to get out and reveal that its just as much of a mess and money i regret spending- kind of fear)

YAYA ITS SO AWESOME GAHH IM SO INVESTED 😭!!!! i actually just caught up in the manga to where i am in the anime!! (on ep 81, and on chapter 134!!!) i've shed lots of tears, laughed, and had my heart touched many times since starting it- i'm totally in love!!! I even cried at the same places i did while watching it when reading manga, ahaha!!!

the characters, the world, the designs, the dreams and ambitions everyone has is SOOOSOSO fun and like, inspiring.. just so good-feeling, i'll even wake up and be like "man, can't wait to watch/read one piece today"

the friendships/bonds created between everyone feels like, so strong- its really beautiful! I love how much fun the fights are, and i really adore the small moments between everyone (like when sanji brings out foods/drinks and everyone kinda just, chills and eats?? the food component of things feels so important too, I love seeing what they eat, idk why haha!!!)

i feel like other shows i love don't have enough time to just see everyone hanging out... it makes me so happy, im really thankful for those moments

also i would take a bullet for any of the strawhats in miliseconds!!! an instant!!!! anything for them!!

Seen at least one (1) person complain about Crocodile losing his "unique faceshape" (now having the same facial structure that 90% of OP men have) after episode 1086 came out and like

To be fair, yes, the shape of his head HAS changed since his first appearance in The Year 2000. The thing is, Toei's latest Crocodile Offering is frankly more in-line with how Oda drew Crocodile during Impel Down and Marineford than ever before. Like yeah he looks different, but this change isn't new

But that comment really did make me think about how FUNNY it is just how different Croc really looks from his first appearance, like. The evolution in how Oda draws the bastard is so facinating to me

These are from chapters 155, 160 and 205 respectively.

No massive changes happening here in the middle of the arc, but you can kinda tell that Oda was definitely still figuring out how this asshole was supposed to look as he got further into the Alabasta (which is perfectly normal), which just makes That First Appearance look even funnier with time because. Who the fuck is that lmaooo

But then we get to see him briefly during Miss Goldenweek's cover story, this being from the cover of chapter 413! All things considdered, bastard hasn't changed that much, still looks pretty much the same as in Alabasta. His head is maybe a little less elongated than before but still, chin is quite pointy still

And now we're in Impel Down at chapter 540. Again, dude looks about the same as he did before...

But it really doesn't take long for Oda to start reshaping this bastard's entire head at this point

Chapters 544, 546, 578, and cover of chapter 584

The chin is easily the most obvious part, but you can tell Oda kind of defaulted to giving him that same ol' evenly square-ish head most his conventionally attractive characters have during these story arcs (instead of the elongated shape he originally had).

And then we have the latest appearances, from 1082 and 1100

I do feel like comparing these to what's come before would be a little unfair considdering his health and eyesight and how those affect the artwork itself, but. They're there, for comparison's sake

But the point is still there. Crocodile's face shape has changed since his first appearance, but it's not like Toei was behind that, the change was (mostly) gradual and from Oda himself. And it mostly happened in 2008, so it's not new by any means either

So really, all Toei did was just update his character model because ⬆️ is more accurate than ⬇️ for One Piece right now

Regardless. The sheer difference between the two is hysterical to me

Princess Tutu/Ever After High Au: Fakir

Duck • Rue • Mytho

Role:

The knight of The Prince and the Raven has a simple role: he is unable to protect the Prince and is then torn in two by the Raven's claws. Fakir lost his father at a young age to this fate and knows firsthand how utterly devastating it is.

Royal or Rebel?

Rebel. Fakir is determined not to follow in his father's footsteps and he does not care about the backlash he will face for it. As a third year, he has already signed his page in the Storybook of Legends, sealing his fate. Now regretting that decision, Fakir searches for a way to strike his name from the book and rewrite his destiny. Going forward with the story means his own death, the death of his best friend, and his closest childhood friend being locked into a fate worse than death. While, on the surface, his drive to rewrite destiny appears to be motivated by a selfish desire to survive, he's most driven by the desire to save his friends from their tragic endings.

School Life:

Fakir is aloof, preferring to stay apart from his classmates. He joined the ballet track at a young age to be closer to Mytho. As he becomes more disillusioned with the destiny system, however, he attempts to switch into writing classes.

Magic Abilities:

Though being descended from the Knight doesn't give Fakir any innate magical abilities, his connection to Drosselmeyer allows him to hear the narrators. He has a tenuous and immature control over the direction of active stories.

Friends: Duck, Mytho, Maddie, Brooke

Despite an initial distaste for Duck, the two grew close, bonding over their deaths in the Prince and the Raven. Fakir urges Duck not to sign her page and seal her fate. Together, they search for a way to break Duck's curse and remove Fakir's name from the book. Fakir trusts Duck and feels safe around her in a way he's never felt with anyone else, and the feeling is mutual. They inspire each other to keep fighting for a better ending.

Mytho and Fakir are childhood best friends, though their relationship begins to disintegrate as the divide between Royals and Rebels grows. Mytho believes it is their duty to protect the people of their story, even if that means they are doomed to tragic endings. He sees Fakir's refusal of destiny as selfish, putting their subjects at unnecessary risk. Fakir, on the other hand, is angered by how Mytho is willing to sacrifice Fakir, Duck, and especially himself without trying to fight for a better future. Fakir cares about Mytho deeply and does not want him to lose his heart. However, he takes Mytho's commitment to destiny as a personal attack, feeling as if Mytho does not care if he dies in the story--which could not be farther from the truth. Their falling out is exacerbated by the fact they are roommates and share nearly every class.

Though Fakir and Maddie seem to have opposite personalities at a glance, her silly demeanor and earnest devotion to her friends endear her to him. Fakir believes Maddie when other people think she's crazy. She is the only person he can talk to about the narrators, and he has no reason not to trust her on other matters.

Fakir is, according to Brooke's parents, a bad influence. He urges the young narrator to change the course of events of the story to avoid tragedy. Brooke admires his determination to overcome his tragic fate and in turn, he admires how Brooke fights for what she believes in, no matter what consequences she faces.
