Kole Lind can break curses.

Dennis Cholowski gets cursed.

Problem? Dennis thinks that Kole hates him, but asks for him to break his curse anyway. The curse backlash results in a proximity curse, tying them to roughly the same 20 feet unless Dennis is prepared for his wrists to hurt very, very badly.

Dennis's mom is coming down to watch their game, and Kole agrees that they are both gonna pick her up from the train station. They have to sleep together, because they can't be in separate rooms. Also they have to touch to build up enough resistance so that Dennis's mom won't think it's super weird (dating) if they hold hands during their lunch.

He looks cozy, on his side facing the center of the bed blanket pulled up to his chin, his pillow jammed between his neck and shoulder. He looks sweet. 

There’s a pillow on the other side of the bed - a queen, at least. Something meant for two people. Dennis lays down, putting his phone on the table next to the bed. Kole lets him get settled, his wrist just beginning to burn when Kole’s hand snakes out from under the blanket to touch Dennis’s wrist. 

“Hey,” Kole says. His voice is syrupy, like he’s already mostly asleep. “Is this ok?” 

“Yeah,” Dennis breathes. He’s not sure if it is ok, but he doesn’t really have another option. Kole’s grip is gentle, his thumb stroking softly at the skin of Dennis’s forearm. His eyes are closed, his breathing slowing. Watching Kole fall asleep is strangely calming, but before he can figure out why, he falls asleep. 

His alarm wakes him up. Before he’s aware of anything, he curls his toes, stretching his feet, and he bumps into something. He pulls away instinctively, until he realizes that it’s Kole. It’s just Kole. He isn’t sure whether “just Kole” is accurate
